Astrid's POV

After me and Hiccup's deep conversation about not holding onto the past, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Because what if Hiccup does leave? You know, forever? Am I just supposed to get over it with a snap? No. That can't be what he meant. I have to ask him.

"Hiccup, about what you said earlier. You know, about not holding onto the past. What did you really mean?" I asked. I could tell that caught his attention because his head snapped up from his papers.

"Well I meant don't hold onto the past. You know, don't let anything drag you down." Hiccup said, turning his attention back to his papers.

"Is there anything... you know.... deeper then that?" I asked. Hiccup gave me a skeptical look.

"Astrid are you alright? Is there anything bothering you?" He was standing now and walking slowly towards me.

"I don't know. It's just, what you said. I can't really get over it." I was hugging my stomach.

"What's bothering you about it?" Hiccup had his hands on my upper arms and staring at my eyes, which were cast downward at the floor.

"The whole 'don't hold on to the past'. It just makes me think, if I loose you, I keep thinking you want me to just get over it with the snap of my fingers." Tears welled in. My eyes as I said it.

"That's not that I was saying at all. I'm just saying that if something does happen, you can't wait around and miss out on perfectly nice days of your life. You have to be able to let go just enough, so you can enjoy yourself. And not lock yourself away until it's all better." He explained while making constant eye contact with me. His voice was calming and reassuring. I knew everything was going to be okay.

"Promise me you won't leave me?" I asked.

"Where would I go? The best place I've ever been is right here. With you." He leaned in and closed the gap between us. It was a thoughtful, meaningful, and passionate kiss that I hoped would never end. And after about 1 minute, we pulled apart, each of us out of breath. "How about dinner? Neither if us are cooking, we're gonna go to the Great Hall instead. Eat with everyone else. I feel like we haven't done that since the night after my first training lesson at the arena." He said as he walked towards the door and held it open. I walked through and smiled.

Once we got inside the Great Hall, we saw the gang. Hiccup walked over to them and started talking with all of them. After about a minute of just staring, he motioned me to come sit with him. I walked over and sat next to him on the wooden benches.

"Ok guys settle down settle down. I have an announcement to make." Snotlout said loudly. "Ruffnut and I are official."

"That's great! Congratulations Snotlout!" Hiccup basically exclaimed. Fishlegs smiled and Tuffnut had a disapproving scowl.

"C'mon Tuff aren't you happy for your sister?" I said.

"Well yeah but now it's the lovey-dovey ick in 2 places!" He shouted. I knew the other 'lovey-dovey ick' was Hiccup and I.

"Well that's what happens when there are girls." Ruffnut said sarcastically.

"Ok you too settle down. Geez." Hiccup said and took a bite of his chicken.

"Ruffnut can I talk to you outside really quickly?" I said. She nodded and we walked outside and went behind the Great Hall, then started walking to the forest.

"What's on your mind Astrid?" She said and glanced over at me, not moving the rest of her body.

"It's actually nothing really just I wanted some fresh air. I've been feeling really nauseous like all the time."

"Do you feel nauseous now?" She asked.

"Now that you mention it, I sorta do." All of the sudden I ran behind a bush and puked. Ew.

"Ok, I'm gonna take you to see Gothi. I have a feeling I know what this is, but I wanna get her advice.

-at Gothi's Hut-

Ruffnut's POV

We were at Gothi's hut and I already told her my assumption. She did some weird tests on Astrid that I didn't really understand, but I will leave it to her. She knows what she's doing. Gothi looked at me and gave a small nod that meant I was right. OH MY GODS. I was right! I knew it. Totally saw the signs. I gotta tell Astrid.

"What's wrong with me?" She asked me with a but of panic as we left. Gothi's hut.

"Nothing is wrong with you." I said letting out little laughs.

"Tell me what she told you. Right now Thorston!" She was yelling now.

"Easy there Hofferson. I know this may be a little weird at first but-" I started.

"JUST TELL ME." She interrupted.

"Astrid, you're pregnant."

Astrid's POV

Oh my gods. I can't believe it. My heart raced. I don't know how to tell Hiccup. Or how he's gonna take the news. But I have to tell him. I mean, he is the father. Ruffnut and I walked back to the Great Hall in silence. I was still in shock. But I shouldn't stress. All the women of Berk say that's bad for unborn children. We walked in and Hiccup came up and hugged me.

"I was worried you got kidnapped! Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" He was frantically inspecting my arms and upper back.

"Hiccup I'm fine. But I need to talk to you. Alone. Outside." I said and rubbed my hands.

"Okay come on." He grabbed my right hand and dragged me behind the Great Hall. "What's on your mind? You know, besides your excessive vomiting which we are asking Gothi about first thing in the morning tomorrow."

"It's about the vomiting. And other stuff. I saw Gothi with Ruffnut."

"What did Gothi say? Are you sick?" He questioned?

"No, Hiccup, you're gonna be a dad."

His eyes widened. He stopped questioning frantically for a second and a smile peeled across his face.

"Oh my gods Astrid this is the greatest news I've ever gotten!" He shouted and picked me up in a hug and twirled me around. He brought me back down to the ground and kissed me. "We have to tell my parents though. Which is going to be an awkward conversation." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"We'll tell them tomorrow. Let's just tell the gang and go get some sleep." I started walking back to the front of the hall. Once we got in and sat down everyone gave us looks.

Hiccup's POV

We walked in and the gang just looked at us.

"Well since we have your attention, me and Astrid have an announcement." I said.

"You tell them." She whispered to me. I nodded my head and took a breath.

"I'm gonna be a dad." Everyone cheered and smiled. Especially Ruffnut, who is really excited about all this.

"Congratulations Hiccup!" Snotlout pat my back and walked out to head home. As everyone walked out we got our congrats from the gang. I then looked to Astrid.

"Words can't express how excited I am at this moment in time." I said.

I took her hand and we walked back to our house. When we walked in we already found Stormfly asleep downstairs and Toothless curled up on his giant flat stone in our room. He refuses to sleep anywhere else. But he gives us private time. When we want it. Astrid and I them climbed into bed and just like a flash of lightening, we were asleep.

So this chapter was inspired by an Instagram picture I saw, which was basically about Hiccstrid babies, so I thought 'eh, why not?'
