Chapter 30

Hi guys!!

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while...

I all of the sudden got super busy

But anyway I'm thinking about making another story.

I hope you all know what the big four is. If not it's Hiccup, Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians (dreamworks), Merida from Brave, and Rapunzel from Tangled.

So comment if you think I should do it!

Also, I think I might stop this story at either chapter 40 or chapter 45. I'm running out of ideas.

I'll think of something though!

Astrid's POV

It's been 2 days since me and Hiccup were married and let's just say I've never been happier. I wake up to Hiccup's messy hair and sparkling emerald eyes, and his groggy morning voice which no one ever knew he had. It was much deeper and more, well, manly. Not saying that Hiccup isn't manly it's just, well, he is still skinny. But that's just another thing on the list of things I love about Hiccup.

"Wake up, we need to go to the academy. We haven't trained in a while." I said to a sleeping Hiccup while shaking him. After about 5 minutes of shaking him, I just pushed him out of bed.

"AH!" He screamed as he fell. I let out a slight giggle and went over to help him up.

"Morning!" I pulled him up and kissed his cheek.

"Did you have to push me out of bed? You could've just punched me." He said as he put the blankets and pillows back on the bed.

"I thought I might change it up today. We have to train today so get dressed." I said as I walked downstairs to make us breakfast. I still love the sound of that. Us.

When I was in the kitchen I heard Hiccup coming downstairs. You can always hear him because his metal leg occasionally squeaks and it makes a noise on the wood floors of the houses.

"Smells good. What are you making?"

"Just breakfast. Oh Hiccup since the holidays are coming up, I need you to help me with something." I said as I emerged from the kitchen with two plates.

"Of course M'lady. What is it?" He said as he grabbed one of the plates.

"I need you to help me improve my Yaknog!" I basically shouted. His eyes widened. "What? What's wrong?"

"No it's that I forgot the holidays were coming up. This will be the first Snoggletog as a whole family! You, Mom, Dad and me. And of course Gobber. This will be the greatest holiday ever!!" He shouted and kissed cheek.

"Oh my gods Hiccup this is going to be amazing!!" I shouted and we hugged. After a minute of hugging, we stared at each other's eyes for a second. Then, the gap was closing. Soon enough, our lips touched. I know we've kissed a lot of times but now that we are married it's just, so special. We pulled apart and smiled at each other.

"We should probably go train." I said still smiling. With that, we left for our dragons and flew to the academy.

"Finally! You two decide to show up. How is it that I'm on time and you're not?" Snotlout yelled.

"Watch it Snotlout or you might end up hanging from the ceiling from your feet." I said as I pointed to the roof of chains. He let out a heavy sigh and crossed his arms.

"Well sorry for being late. Didn't realize we had training." Hiccup said trying to change the subject.

"What kind of punch was that? I said I wanted to see stars!" Ruffnut yelled. At that, Tuffnut punched Ruffnut and she fell of barf. "That's much better!" She shouted from the ground. Classic twins. I looked over at Hiccup who had a very unsurprised look on his face.

"Do you guys ever stop fighting?" Hiccup asked annoyed.

"We aren't fighting. We're testing out new ways to hurt each other." Tuff stated. Ruff gave an approving nod once he finished.

"I guess that's how they bond." I said looking at Hiccup. He face palmed.

"Okay! Can we move on please? Thank you. Now, training today is going to be trust. We will be doing a series of tests to see if you and your dragons trust can save you. For the first test, we will be doing protection. There will be one of us charging at you and your dragon will have to stop what they are doing and protect you. So your dragon will be away from you, distracted, and you will be on the other side of the arena, being 'attacked' by one of us. First up will be Fishlegs and Meatlug. Snotlout, you'll be the 'attacker' that's charging at Fishlegs." Hiccup spoke.

Snotlout gave an annoyed nod and Fishlegs and Meatlug have each other worried glances.

"Wait, why are we doing this?" Ruff asked.

"Because loyalty and trust are two major components in you and your dragons friendship." I explained as I put my hands on my hips. "Now can we get started? I don't wanna be here all day."

"Alright you guys are free to go." Hiccup said as he pat Toothless's head. I stayed behind so I could talk to him.

"Hiccup are you alright? You seem a bit edgy." I asked after everyone cleared out of the arena.

"Yeah I'm good. Just a long day of training." He said and rubbed his forehead.

"Are you sure there isn't anything else bothering you? You know you can tell me anything." I said.

"Yeah that's it. Just tired." He said and blinked slowly. There was something up with him, but I'll give him his time.

"Early dinner then do you want to go to bed?" I asked him.

"Sounds lovely m'lady." He kissed my cheek and mounted Toothless, then flew towards the house.

Ah, dinner was good. I just made us some chicken, but something felt, different. It was a good different, but I still thought Hiccup was hiding something. He would always space out and just stand there for a second, completely motionless. But that's sort of normal for him.

"I'm gonna go to bed. Are you joining?" He asked as he went up the first step.

"I'll be up in a minute just gotta clean up the dishes." I said. He gave a slight nod and went upstairs. I picked up the dishes and put them in the bucket of water and went upstairs. I heard a loud thump as soon as I put a foot on the first step. I rushed up to see what that was and saw Hiccup passed out on the floor. He looked pale and his skin was freezing cold. I quickly grabbed a blanket and put it on him, then ran outside to find someone to help.

I found Gobber with Stoick and Valka and quickly ran towards them. Once I got there I took a quick break since I hadn't stopped running.

"Easy Astrid. What seems to be the problem?" Gobber asked.

"It's... Hiccup..." Was all I could manage between breaths. That was all they needed to hear because once I finished, they ran towards our house. I ran after them.

Once we got there Hiccup was still in the same position, with the blanket on top of him along with a dragon tail.

"Toothless move your tail we gotta lay him on the bed." I said to the dragon. He obeyed and lifted his tail, then perched on the headboard, waiting for his human to be placed on the bed.

"What happened Astrid?" Valka asked as she drew her hand back once she felt Hiccup's cold skin.

"Well he wasn't really acting himself today, so I just thought it was another chief conversation or something. So we came home, had an early dinner of perfectly cooked chicken, and then he went up here to go to bed while I cleaned up, and when I came up here he was face down on the floor, ice cold and pale." I said. I quickly gasped for breath.

"I've never seen this before." Valka said.

"I don't think it's happened to any villagers before." Stoick said.

"Do we know what it is?" I asked frantically. "Is he gonna be ok?" I started to tear up. I quickly held them in and took a deep breath.

"Astrid, I don't know." Valka said.

At that, my face dropped. My heart shattered. Could I really loose Hiccup?
