Astrid's POV

"Hiccup I think we need to tell your parents about me. It's been 3 days." I said and faced Hiccup who was feeding the dragons.

"Yeah. I've just been trying to think of a way to tell them without feeling awkward. You know my dad." He said and took the empty barrel from Toothless.

"They need to know. Today. C'mon, might as well get it over with early." I said and dragged him towards his house.

Hiccup's POV

When we got to my parents house I began to freak out a little bit. I don't know how they're going to react, I mean, this is my parents we're talking about. Astrid flung the door open and mom and dad looked at us from their chairs around the fire pit in the center of the house.

"Morning son. We weren't expecting to see you until later. Is anything wrong?" Mom asked and stood up. Astrid elbowed my ribs, telling me to tell them. I took a deep breath.

"Okay you guys promise not to freak out, okay?" I said. They nodded. I inhaled.

"Out with it Hiccup." Dad said now standing next to mom.

"Mom, dad, Astrid is pregnant." I exhaled loudly. Finally got that out. They just stood there with wide smiles.

"Oh Hiccup that's amazing!" Mom shouted and hugged me then Astrid.

"Well done Hiccup. Congratulations my boy." Dad pat my shoulder, causing me to fall forward a bit, since I'm about the size of his entire arm. "Congratulations to you too Astrid. Oh we have to make the announcement!" Dad suddenly shouted.

"Uh wait what are you talking about?" I looked between mom and dad frantically, hoping for an explanation.

"Well you have to tell the village. As the soon-to-be chief, the village needs to know." Dad said.

"Here we go again with the chiefing business." I sighed.

"You're making the announcement tonight. At the Great Hall during dinner. Astrid will be next to you along with me and your mother behind you." He explained then walked out for the day.

"Can't wait." I mumbled sarcastically then waved at mom, and walked home. Astrid came running behind me, and soon caught up and was at my side.

"What was that all about?" She sounded concerned.

"You know I don't like the thought of me doing chiefly things." I said not breaking my eye contact with the ground.

"I know but, your fathers only doing what his responsibility is as a chief. He's right though the village needs to know." She said. "I mean, Hiccup, Chief of Berk. What an honor. I'd be pretty excited."

"I'm not like you Astrid. Y-you know exactly who you are you always have. I'm nothing like my father, and I only just met my mother, so who does that make me?" I said and sat down in front of our house.

"It makes you Hiccup. The man that trained the night fury, saved Berk so many times, runs the academy, trains the dragons. Hiccup, you're going to be a great chief one day." She said and kissed my cheek. I smiled. I turned and planted a passionate kiss on her lips.

"Thanks Astrid. Where would I be without you." I said and hugged her.

"You would be inside your father house reading the book if dragons again." She sarcastically stated.

"Oh haha. Hey I'm gonna go to the forge to do some work on my suit. I think something is wrong with the little fin in the back it doesn't pop out right. Feel free to join if you want!" I shouted and walked to the forge.

"I'll be there soon!" I heard her faintly shout.

-at lé forge-

"Ah morning Hiccup. What bring you in here today?" Gobber said while fixing a dragon tooth.

"Ah something's up with my armor I gotta fix it." I said and took to the top half of my armor. I stared at a few of the connections, trying to find the problem. "Huh." I whispered loudly.

"What is it?" Gobber asked. Apparently he heard me.

"I think I have to replace the entire coil. Do we have any in the back?" I asked and stood up.

"Plenty in the back. Too much of you ask me." He went back to his dragon tooth.

Astrid's POV

I was walking to the forge and I saw Hiccup standing over the forge fire... shirtless. Oh great. Girls are gonna be staring at him again. And yes, that includes me. I got to the forge and was greeted with a smile from Gobber.

"Morning Astrid. Hiccup expecting you?" He asked. He was making more teeth for dragons. How many does he need?

"Yeah he said something about his armor being messed up so I came to see if he fixed it." I said and walked to the back where the fire was. I heard Gobber mumble something but I'm sure it was nothing. I found Hiccup at the forge fire with the window wide open.

"How's it going?" I said and disturbed the silence.

"AH! Oh gods Astrid you scared me." He said and turned to face me.

"Sorry. So how's the armor?" I asked trying to keep my attention off of his torso. But it was no use.

"I have to make a whole new coil. The other one was wearing down in a certain spot, and it was only a matter of time before that thing would snap." He turned back to the fire with his coil. I went over and shut the window. "Uh hey Astrid I need that open for light." He said.

"You have a fire right there how do you need the window open?" I said and sat on his stool.

"Overhead lighting. Could you please just open it?" He turned around and gave me puppy-dog eyes.

"Oh fine. You know I can't resist the puppy-dog eyes." I reluctantly opened the window.

"Trust me I don't like girls staring at me as much as you do. But there's one girl with a free pass." He said.

"Wait how did you know that I didn't want girls staring at you?" I said and jumped off his stool.

"Astrid, sometimes your not that sneaky. I can see it in your facial expressions." He said and waved a finger in a circle around my face. I swat his hand. He giggled.

"Well I guess it's hard to avoid when you look like that." I said pointing my hand at him.

"You just gestured to all of me." He put his coil in a bucket of water.

"Yep." I said and placed my hands on my hips. We both laughed.

"PERFECT!" He shouted. I jumped a the sudden burst of noise.

"What?"

"I made possibly the perfect coil!" He started wiring it through his armor. "All we have to do is test it. Toothless! Flight time bud!" He said and Toothless bounded through the window. He put on his armor, finally, although it will admit, he has a nice torso. Stop it Astrid.

"Can I come with?" I asked and whistled for Stormfly.

"Well of course." He answered and mounted Toothless, and flew off to the statues in front of Berk.

Ah I finally get to see what he does on these flights that he always goes on. He flew really near the water, dodging thunderdrum wings as they breached out of the ocean like whales. I felt like a stalker watching him like this, but it was hard not to. Him and Toothless were basically the same person. Like they had some sort of brain connection. He darted up into the clouds, and dove down, with his back to the ocean. I got a nervous feeling in my stomach. I didn't know if he was going to fall or something. We were flying regularly with a few timberjacks.

"Hiccup that was insane! You could've gotten yourself killed." I said and turned sideways to look at him. Since I have my hood on, I can't just move my eyes and look at him. He lifted his helmet.

"Trust me Astrid I know what I'm doing. And so does Toothless." He said and started putting Toothless's tail in automatic. Oh no. "Ready bud?" Toothless gave an approving growl and Hiccup slid right off the side.

"HICCUP!" I shouted and dove down, only to have Toothless cut me off.

We dove through clouds until I could finally see the ocean. Oh Hiccup whatever you have planned do it now. Suddenly, his, little flight suit popped out and he glided next to Toothless who was on his right side while I was on his left side. I felt a wave of relief since he was flying. I went under him and pushed the button that made his back fin pop out.

"It works perfectly!" He said and lifted his helmet so he could look at me.

"Could've at least warned me you were just going to slide off like that." I crossed my arms. I was now standing on Stormfly's back, while we just soared through the clouds.

"Ah well that takes all the fun out of it." He said and gave me his signature lopsided grin. I leaned forward and gave him a passionate kiss. It lasted for about 30 seconds, until Toothless roared at us.

"Oh c'mon bud really?" He looked forward and we were about to crash into a seastack. "STORMFLY DIVE!" He shouted. Stormfly suddenly dove down, dodging the seastack.

"HICCUP!!!" I shouted. All I saw was a blast of blue, and the seastack came crumbling down.

I flew past the falling boulders and looked to Hiccup or Toothless. I found Toothless sprawled out on grass. I landed next to him and looked for any injuries. He seemed fine since he got up and started frantically looking for Hiccup. I found him about 7 feet from Toothless, face down. He stood up as fast as lightening.

"We gotta work on landing these kinds of stunts, huh Toothless?" Hiccup said and brushed off his armor. Toothless gave him an annoyed look and knocked him down with his tail. I ran to him.

"Oh my gods Hiccup are you okay??!!" I shouted. He stood up.

"I think so. See any injuries?" He twirled around. I saw a few scratches on his torso and upper back.

"Only a few scratches. C'mon, we'll get you cleaned up back home." He walked to Toothless and we flew back to Berk.

-back home-

Hiccup's POV

"Ow." I groaned.

"I'm know I'm sorry but we have to get you cleaned up. This may hurt." Astrid said and began bandaging my cuts.

"OW!" I shouted as the bandage stung my wound. It looked like I had been grazed by arrows.

"All done. Let me just check for more cuts." She circled around my torso. "You're good."

I stood up and looked at my armor.

"Looks like I got some leather to polish. Tomorrow though, I have to make the big announcement in an hour." I said and pat Astrid's stomach.

"I completely forgot about that. I guess I got caught up in the flight." Astrid said and sat down in her chair. "What do you wanna do for an hour?" She asked.

"Hmm, OH I GOT IT! Baby names." I sat down in my chair, which was set across from hers.

"So soon?" She asked.

"Gotta plan ahead. Ok, girl names first." I nodded at her to start.

"Ok, my three top girl names are Olivia, Isabella and Jade." She said. She now had her legs draped over the back of the chair and her head was hanging off the edge. "And my top boy ones are Noah, Luke, and Logan. Ok what about you?" She was sitting normally now, staring at me.

"For a girl, I would go with Ava, Audrey or Mercy." I said. She looked at me. "What?"

"The name Mercy. It's so unique. It's beautiful. Ok boy names." She said and clapped.

"Boy names would have to be James, Oliver or Eli." I rubbed my hands together.

"I think you're better at names then me." She said. "Ok. If it's a girl, we name her Mercy."

"And if it's a boy we name him Eli." I said.

"Deal?" She said

"Deal." I said.

"Oh we gotta go. Announcement time!" She dragged me out the door.

"Astrid I need my shirt." I said.

"Oh gods I'm sorry yeah go get it but hurry up."

-at the Great Hall-

We were at the front of the Great Hall, eating with my parents at the chief table. Dad stood up, probably to introduce me for the announcement. Astrid placed her hand on mine and gave me an assuring smile.

"Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention!!" Dad shouted. Everyone quieted down and looked at him. "My son has an announcement. Hiccup." He motioned for me to step forward. I walked up to the front and Astrid joined me.

"Thank you Dad. One quick announcement." I started. Astrid smiled at me.

"Are we being attacked?" Someone shouted.

"No we are not." I said.

"Then get on with it! I wanna keep eating!" Tuffnut shouted from the back.

"I'm not stopping you from eating Tuffnut."

"Oh ok." And then it was silent. I took a deep breath. Everyone started talking.

"I'm gonna be a dad!" I shouted from on top of one of the tables. There was silence, then the great hall erupted with Viking cheers.

"Congratulations Hiccup and Astrid!" Everyone shouted as I got off of the table. I turned to Astrid and she was smiling.

"I knew you could do it." She said. I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards me.

"C'mere you." I pulled her and kissed her. More cheers from the Vikings erupted.

At that moment, I couldn't be happier.

Sorry it took so long, I got struck with a sudden case of the lazies.

But I took an hour and a half to write an extra awesome chapter.

Anyway, I ,might not update this weekend. Because I have a two-day archery competition in San Francisco.

BUT I WILL TRY MY BEST.
