Later in the night, Bruce suited up as Batman and met up with Barbara who was wearing her Batgirl costume. They were in the city and had gotten a virtual message from Paris on a tablet. Paris was on the screen with an arrogant smirk on his face. "Batgirl," he said, "I'm afraid I didn't get your number. So, I'm sending this video to the police to give to you. They've got to be good for something. You may have heard I've gotten into some family money. I told you I'm no punk. In fact, I got you a gift. Something special for my special girl. Just go back to where we met. You'll see." He kissed his fingers and pretended to blow a kiss towards her on the screen. The video stopped. "Cute." Batgirl said sarcastically, unimpressed. "It's not cute." Batman flatly said, "it's a trick."

"I know," said Batgirl as she laid on her Batcycle, "but it is a little flattering." Batman gave that stoic look and said, "no. He doesn't know you. He's objectified you. When a criminal gets personal like that, it's bad news. You're off this one." Batgirl stood up straight and asked enraged, "what?!?!"

"I don't want you on this case," said Batman. "At all?!?!?!" Batgirl asked incredulously, "so he likes me! We can use that!" Batman countered, "he's not afraid of you. I want him nervous. To ensure your safety, I brought someone to keep an eye on you until I'm finished with this case." Batgirl crossed her arms and said angrily, "Bruce, I've known you since I was 10! I'm almost 22 years old, I'm not a little girl anymore! I don't need to be babysat!" Batman was opening the door to the Batmobile and said, "I want you to sit this one out Barbara, for your own safety. And I don't want you disobeying orders. That's why I brought Kevin to keep an eye on you." Batgirl's eyes widened in surprise as she asked, "wait, Kevin's back?" Kevin then wandered over to the side of the building and revealed himself. "That's right," he said, "hey Babs." Batgirl laughed a little, joyfully surprised to see her friend. He was one of the few non superheroes that knew she was Batgirl. "So yeah, Dad wanted me to do him a favor," explained Kevin, "and this is that favor." Batman got into the Batmobile and said, "take her home and make sure she doesn't put on the suit and attempt to sneak out." Kevin nodded and said, "yes Dad." Batman then asked Barbara, "the place you met him was at that warehouse, right?"

"Yeah. Where are you going?" Batgirl asked in reply. "Your father and his men are already canvassing the place," said Batman, "I'll let you know what we find. Keep an eye on her, Kevin." Barbara sighed in reluctant defeat, knowing there was no use arguing with Bruce as he drove away. He was stubborn after all. "Hey, he doesn't want you to get hurt by Paris," said Kevin, "Dad isn't the best at showing sentimentality, but he does care for your well-being and if Paris did something like rape you or kill you, he'd never forgive himself. We already lost Jason. Cut him a little bit of some slack." Batgirl sighed, "well when you put it that way, it's understandable." She looked at Kevin and said, "it's good to see you Kevin. When did you come back to Gotham?" She smiled at him. "A couple hours ago," confirmed Kevin, "I'm back for spring break." Batgirl got out her house keys and said, "well that makes what I thought would be crappy a little bit better. At least I get to spend time with you." Kevin took the keys and said, "always a silver lining. Can I be honest about that Paris guy?" Batgirl replied, "sure. Hop on the Batcycle." As she got on her Batcycle, Kevin said, "that Paris guy is obviously compensating for something. Especially with the way he sounds. You can do so much better than him." Kevin got on her motorcycle and Babs chuckled, "I guess I could. Hold on tightly." And that's when Batgirl rode off, with Kevin holding on to her. 20 minutes later, they were at Barbara's apartment. Kevin got off and Batgirl said, "I'll hide this in the garage. You go inside I'll be inside in a few minutes." Kevin nodded and said, "alrighty."

Kevin then walked inside the apartment until he was at the door to Barbara's apartment and unlocked the door, going inside her place and shutting the door behind him. Less than two minutes later, Batgirl came inside and wandered into her living room, having snuck in through the window in her bedroom. Kevin politely put the keys on her table. "Guess the coast is clear," said Kevin. "Good," said Barbara as she took off her mask. Kevin smiled and hugged his old friend. Barbara welcomed the hug, hugging back. "You look good Babs," said Kevin. "Therefore I have value?" Barbara teased, "I'm kidding. You look good yourself." Kevin blushed and said, "how would you like it if I made cookies?" Babs smiled and said, "that'd be nice. I got ingredients for chocolate chip cookies." Kevin gave an approving thumbs up and said, "awesome. Let's get to work." 25 minutes later, a batch of chocolate chip cookies was made, and the two shared the cookies. "So how's college been treating you?" Barbara asked. "Like I told Dad and Dinah, I have good days and I have bad days," said Kevin, "I've been able to get all my work done, but I've had to miss Supernatural, Steven Universe, and Doctor Who in the process. Dick assured me that he's recorded all the episodes of Supernatural that I've missed." Barbara smirked and said, "that's quite convenient. Lucky for you, I recorded all the episodes of Steven Universe and Doctor Who that you missed." Kevin smiled excitedly and replied, "you're the best, Babs! Since you won't be on patrol as Batgirl for a while, we can do a Doctor Who/Steven Universe Marathon!" Barbara smiled and said, "yeah, that'll be fun."
