TWENTY-SEVEN

"So what do we want to discuss first?" Molly asked as soon as she walked into our flat the next afternoon.

I was moving about in the kitchen in an oversized sweater and leggings, with no shoes on. I was making some tea for me, Molly, and Fred.

He's insane if he thinks I'm just going to let him go off and do whatever he wants while I sit and listen to his mum drone on and on for hours.

"Well, I'll let you two discuss that. I'll be back-"

I cut Fred off by grabbing his arm and twisting him back around to face me. "Oh, no, love, you're staying. I want your opinion on everything," I stated sweetly, keeping eye contact with Fred.

He swallowed before he responded, "Everything?"

I nodded, still smiling sweetly.

I pretended like I was leaning up to give him a kiss on the cheek, but I whispered in his ear, "You are not leaving me here alone. This is our wedding, not just mine."

He sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist, while mine were still around his neck.

"Okay. You're right. I should be here," he paused to smirk, "Besides, who would embarrass you if I were not here?"

I huffed and removed my arms from around his neck. I didn't say anything as I walked to the table, making sure to put a little extra sway to my hips as I did so. I knew it would drive Fred mad that he hadn't gotten the reaction he wanted from me. He expected me to sulk or something.

Molly was already sitting, digging out parchment, quills, and ink from the bag she brought with her. Thank Merlin she wasn't paying attention to Fred and I's little exchange.

I grabbed one of the cups of tea I had already sat on the table and held it in my hands. I smiled as Ben sauntered into the kitchen, going to his water bowl. I watched him get a drink. Once he was done, he looked at me and walked over. He sat and cocked his head at me as if he was wondering what I was doing.

I bent down and picked him up, putting him in my lap and petting him with one hand and still holding my cup of tea in the other.

Fred took the seat beside me, petting Ben's head as he did so.

"Fred, is the date March 27 okay?" Molly asked, still rummaging through her bag.

"Of course," he responded, reaching to get his cup of tea.

"And is the field by the Burrow okay?" Molly asked absentmindedly, as she was still digging through her bag.

"Yeah. Me and Elle already talked about that," Fred answered before taking a sip of his tea.

"Good, good," she murmured, pulling out a piece of parchment and looking at it intently.

Ben laid down on my lap, his tail wagging. I smiled and kept petting him.

"Aha! I found it!" Molly suddenly exclaimed, holding up a piece of parchment.

"Found what?" I inquired, rubbing the teacup with my thumb as I talked.

"I made a checklist when I was planning my wedding and I used it on Bill's, so of course I'm using it on yours!" She retorted with a warm smile, putting the piece of parchment down on the table.

I grinned back and nodded.

She dipped a quill in ink and checked some stuff off on the list. I'm assuming it was the venue and date.

"Who is going to officiate? Do you two have any ideas?"

Fred and I exchanged a look. Fred was silent and did not look like he was going to respond.

"Erm... no," I responded hesitantly.

"We could get Kingsley to do it. He's quite fond of your father. He would be honored," Molly suggested.

"Kingsley as in Kingsley Shacklebolt, the Minister for Magic?" asked Fred.

"Indeed, Fred. What do you think?" Molly acknowledged.

"I'm okay with that," I added, drumming my fingers on the table, while still petting Ben with the other hand.

"Me too," Fred agreed, looking between Molly and me.

Molly nodded and scribbled something on the checklist. "Okay. How about groomsmen and bridesmaids?" She asked, looking up at us, holding the piece of parchment in one hand and the quill in the other.

"George is my best man," Fred immediately said.

"Sammy, Fleur, Ginny, and Hermione are my bridesmaids," I said right after Fred. Fred wants to include as many of his brothers as possible and I like Fleur, so it makes sense to have her be a bridesmaid.

"Have you talked to them about this?" Molly asked.

"Well, not yet," I responded for the both of us.

"Kind of though. I mean we've always said that we'd be in each other's weddings," I added after a moment.

"Yeah," Fred agreed.

"Okay. Fred, who are your other groomsmen?" Molly asked, writing on the parchment.

"Charlie, Bill, and Ron," Fred stated after a moment, setting his cup of tea down on the table.

"Okay. Elle, who is your maid of honor?"

"Sammy," I answered without missing a beat.

Don't get me wrong, I love the others but Sam has been my best friend since we were each four, when I moved into the house next
to hers. Sam's been the only person who's been there for me constantly. Well, besides Fred, George, and Betty.

Molly nodded as she wrote some more on the checklist. "Okay, so George and Sammy will walk together. Ron and Hermione, Ginny and Charlie, and Bill and Fleur. What order do we want them standing?"

"Sammy first, Hermione second, Ginny third, and Fleur forth," I proposed after I had thought a moment.

"So that means that Fred's order will go George, Ron, Charlie, and Bill. Is that okay with you, Fred?" Molly asked.

Fred nodded and responded, "Yeah, that's fine."

Molly was silent for a moment as she wrote all of this down.

"Who is going to be your flower girl?"

"Callie," Fred and I answered simultaneously.

Molly nodded. "She should be walking well enough by then."

"What about your ring bearer?"

I grinned and held up Ben. "This little fella right here."

When Molly looked confused, I elaborated, "We can strap a little pillow on his back with magic and hold the rings on there with magic. I'll work with him and get him to come when I say to."

"That's such a cute idea, Elle!" Molly exclaimed after I had finished.

I smiled and looked at the time.

"I should take Ben outside. I'll be back," I said, standing up and going over to get Ben's leash I transfigured from a string.

"I'll get going, dear. I need to get home and start working on supper anyway. I've had so much fun today, dears!"

I grinned, "I did as well," I responded.

"Me too," Fred agreed, standing up and coming over to me.

"We're coming along nicely with the wedding plans!" Molly exclaimed, putting everything back in her bag.

"Indeed we are," I stated, getting my coat from the rack.

"We'll get together another day to continue!" Molly said, getting up and putting the bag over her shoulder.

"Sounds good," Fred responded, bending down to put the leash on Ben's collar.

"Bye dears!" Molly told us before she apparated.

Fred handed me Ben's leash as he put his coat on. I went over and opened the door, allowing Ben to shoot out and nearly make me fall down the stairs.

Fred walked out behind us, laughing.

Fred and I linked arms as we walked out of the store and out of Diagon Alley, Ben leading the way.

I laughed as Ben ran around and smelled everything. I picked him up when we entered the Leaky Cauldron, as I didn't want to get in trouble with Tom.

Fred had his arm around my waist as we walked out of the Leaky Cauldron and to the park down the way a little bit.

It's nice to get out with Fred and Ben. I laughed as Ben yanked me around, leaving Fred to chase after us.

Thank Merlin we found this little black puppy.
