"What if you can't find a second witch before Liam shows up?" Zion spoke up, forehead crinkled in worry.

Edward replied with a silent glare that told us all that he didn't have a Plan B.

"Why does Saron have to be one of the witches to do the spell?" Tom demanded.

With an apologetic glance, Edward replied, "She's the most powerful supernatural. She's also one of the few witches who have bonded with the Earth. As much as I hate to use my own daughter, we have no other option. If we don't stop Liam, he will be responsible for the massacre of thousands of innocents."

"It's fine Tom. I'm unkillable remember?" I joked, in attempt to lighten the mood.

"No, you can't do that, not again. I almost- We almost lost you. There has to be someone else. Edward might be willing to let you but I'm not."

"Do you think you're the only one who cares for her. She's my daughter. What do you think I've been doing all this time? There's no alternative." Edward growled at Tom, a glint of anger in his eyes.

"Maybe you haven't looked hard enough," Zion added, glaring at Edward in contempt as he stepped forward and grabbed my hand protectively.

"Guys, STOP!" I yelled, dropping Zion's hand and backing away, causing everyone to swivel their heads around at me in shock.

"Stop talking about me like I'm not here. Edward has done nothing but try to help me. Nothing is going to happen to me. I'm not doing the spell alone this isn't like before. You all may be willing to choose me over innocents but I won't. I am the only one who can do this and you all know it. I know what I'm getting myself into and I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions. Stop treating me like some helpless doll." I snapped, annoyed.

"Saron-" started Zion, stepping towards me.

"I want to speak to my Father alone." I declared, shaking my head to stop him from further objections. I loved my friends but they weren't allowing me to breathe. I wanted to speak to Edward alone, without their judgment. Something inside of me trusted Edward, despite what anyone else thought. After all, he was my father.

Star shot me a worried glance to which I nodded to reassure her before she turned on her heel to walk out, dragging Joel's hand out with her. Tom and Jeremy quickly followed leaving Zion, Edward and I alone in the room.

"Zion, I'll be fine. I'll text you."

Zion eyed Edward distastefully before planting a kiss on my forehead and flitting out.

"I'm sorry about my friends." I apologized, shooting him a sympathetic glance.

He raised up his hand to stop me before saying, "No need. I understand completely. I wouldn't trust an absent father who they've barely known a week either."

Seeing the hurt in his eyes, I reached for his hand, squeezing it in comfort.

He smiled before turning serious.

"Come with me."

He walked past me, locking the door behind returning to the center of the room that was covered in papers and objects of all sorts. He reached underneath the stack, pulling up a latch that sent the junk flying and revealed a space underneath the room.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise before smirking. He climbed down the tunnel, me quickly following him down before shutting the latch down behind me. I descended down the steps after him quickly which led to a open space with tall bookshelves leaning against the walls, surrounding the room with texts of all kinds.

"Now that we're alone," he began.

I cocked my head in confusion as I neared him, waiting for him to continue.

"Have you used your powers since you've returned?"

"No."

"Try to use them now."

Nodding, I effortlessly extended my wings, ignoring the Headmaster's warning. I smiled, looking at him to find his face still and unchanged. I frowned, looking to my wings, which look exactly as they did before.

"Meet me up in the air." He shot up in the air, flitting to the ceiling in a blink before hovering, waiting for me to join him.

I jumped up into the air, allowing my wings to catch me as I soared up higher and higher to meet him. Maybe they were wrong. My magic didn't feel affected at all. I smiled as I surged towards him, tapping into my vampire speed as I met him in the air.

He grinned as he watched my wing movements in the air, not noticing anything amiss.

"So my magic is all good?"

I heard a whoosh and whirled around to knock the spiked ball that was hurling in my direction off my wing as it plummeted to the ground. Edward laughed as he flew back towards me from where he had darted to.

"Seems to be." he replied, satisfied.

I took off flying, slowly around the room, closing my eyes to embrace the feeling of being up in the air. I had missed this. I felt so free in the air. It was as if the world went still and it was just me and the Earth.

My eyes shot open and I found Edward trailing me in the air, silently, allowing me to have a moment. I slowed my pace, allowing him to fly beside me.

Wrinkling my forehead, I asked, "Do you think we will find a witch in time?"

He looked away, clenching his jaw as he stared straight ahead.

"Father."

He turned towards me, eyes softening as he smiled sadly.

"Thought so. And what are the chances of me defeating Liam alone?"

"Slim."

"Better than nothing." I said, grinning before shoving him in the air.

He laughed dryly before his face became once again, flooded with worry.

"We will find a way," I assured him, not sure I even trusted what I was saying was true. I put on the biggest smile on my face to convince him I believed what I was saying. He nodded before dropping down quickly and landing hard on the floor. I quickly flew down, landing beside him softly as I felt my wings return back to their place within my back.

"Let's return you to your mate before he finds another reason to kill me."

I laughed as I followed him out the door, climbing up the steps to find Zion pacing in the room, scowling once he saw Edward.

I smiled at Edward, squeezing his hand before walking towards Zion who protectively wrapped his arms around me before we walked out.

"Zion!" I scolded, as he turned around one last time to shoot daggers at Edward.

"I don't trust him, Saron."

"You don't trust anyone." I scoffed, rolling my eyes.

"I trust you." He replied, eyes softening as he planted a quick kiss on my lips. My body tingled at his kiss as my heartbeat raced.

"Where were you?"

"Flying."

He swirled his head around at me as his forehead crinkled in worry.

"My powers are just fine. They haven't been affected by the dark magic." I assured him quickly, noticing the worry in his eyes.

With a sigh of relief, he nodded as we walked away.

I found my mind drifting away as we walked off. My eyes remained on him, taking in his dark, curly hair falling into his eyes that he periodically brushed away. His laugh as he talked, looking to me to make sure I was paying attention every so often which I quickly nodded to.

"Saron."

I frowned, stopping before turning around. A cluster of kids walked around us laughing, ignoring us completely. I shook my head. Nobody was around. Maybe I had imagined it. I shuddered at the memory of the whisper. It was cold, emotionless yet somehow I had recognized it. Unable to place it, I brushed it off as a figment of my imagination before plastering on a smile and looking back at Zion.

"What's wrong?" Zion asked, cocking his head in confusion.

"Finally!" Star yelled from across the hall as she walked up quickly, the boys following her trail.

"What happened?" Tom asked, eying me suspiciously. I smiled at him, not surprised he didn't trust me after everything I hid from them.

"My powers are fine," I said, deciding to cut to the chase.

"How do you know?" Joel asked.

"I tried my powers with Edward. It feels just like before nothing was off."

"Whoooooooooooo!" Jeremy cheered in excitement, causing us all to erupt in laughter.

I caught sight of the Cafeteria in the distance and my stomach rumbled in hunger. Turning around to the others, I opened my mouth to ask if they wanted to eat before Zion beat me to it.

"Let's go to the Caf."

I smiled before flitting to the Cafeteria door within seconds, slamming right into Bea and her flock of witches. I curled my top lip at the sight, glaring at them in contempt.

Smiling, Bea turned around to Amy who was deep in conversation with another witch.

"Look who it is, Amy."

"Saron!" Amy said, smiling brightly and jumping forward to hug me.

I pushed her off of me, taken aback by the show of affection.

"Don't mind Amy. She just wanted to thank you."

"For what?" I asked, looking between them suspiciously.

"For proving to everyone you really are the freak we always thought you were. Nobody believed us before but now, everyone does."

Anger rushed through me as my fangs started to grow out of my mouth, becoming visible. My eyes turned blood red as I stepped towards them both. I could feel their fear begin to grow as they backed away.

"Why don't you repeat that?" I growled, challenging them to test me.

"SARON!" Zion yelled, darting to my side before placing himself between me and my evil sisters.

"Zion?" Amy asked, perplexed.

"You know who she is, don't you? Why are you with her?" Bea demanded, confusion written all over her face.

"If you know who she is, you should know she could kick your ass without breaking a sweat," threatened Star, walking up with the boys at her side.

"I got this," I said, looking to Star and Zion before stepping forward to face them.

Grabbing my hand, Zion asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yes."

He stepped back, allowing me to step forward and once again be face to face with Amy and Bea.

"Let me make something clear," I began, reaching out to the Earth as I watched Amy and Bea start coughing. They clutched their throats desperately as I pulled the air away from them, causing them to suffocate.

"I'm not the same helpless Saron that was trapped in bed. I may be a freak, but this freak could snap your neck without even trying. If you ever test me again, you'll be sorry."

"Saron-" Tom started as he looked to me in concern as Amy and Bea's faces turned redder and continued to choke. I whipped my head around to reassure him I had everything under control before turning around.

"Kill them." A voice within me whispered faintly. I looked at Amy and Bea, feeling the urge to take it further and crush their windpipes. I felt myself being pulled back into reality as I felt a hand slip into mine. I looked up to find Zion, staring down at me fearfully, trying to pull me back. Feeling the strength of his raw emotions melting away my darkest desires, I pushed away my thoughts, refocusing on Amy and Bea whose eyes were rolling back as they were starting to lose consciousness.

I stopped, allowing air to flood into them as they both dropped to the ground, gasping for air desperately as they looked at me furiously. I smirked at the irony of them on the ground, helpless while I was in control.

"Oh and one more thing."

I dropped Zion's hand before squatting down until I was eye level with them both on the ground before saying, "If you try to speak to my mate again, you'll lose more than just your ability to breathe."
