Episode Seven: In the Heat
*Trigger warning*
Chapter Seven: Ex's and O's
[Ex's and Oh's ~ Elle King]
It had been an entire month since Anya called things off with Matt, and she decided to stay away from men for a while this thing she had going on with her Boss wasnt helping, he had officially gotten into her head and now he was haunting her, every chance he got. Which was really fucking annoying. To be quite fair, she didn't Hate him but she also didn't like him either it was mostly just a very very very, big dislike of the man. The bickering between them continued more and more and it was more frequent.
On the last case, Anya threatened to shove her foot up his ass and he called her a brat which made her lose her cool. Morgan had to physically carry her outside, over his shoulder, and remove her from the room to cool off. Either way, they weren't getting along no matter how hard they tried which wasnt hard at all, it was like they were so attracted to each other that it mustered into this giant cloud of Hate and they hated being with each other or near each other. Or in the same room as each other, and the others could sense the tension it was becoming harder and harder for the two to work together, they just needed to release all of it.
Emily scheduled a girls' night with ladies to try to get Anya to not be so tense while the men were doing the same for Hotch. Anya arrived in her pj's ready to start the night off right. The girls had decided to do Emily's place cause it was bigger and she had a theater room. Anya just walks into Emily's house, her pink fuzzy slippers sliding against the tile flooring she walks down the hall and up the stairs bun flopping around behind her, a bottle of pink Rose in her hand. She makes it to the theater room seeing all the other ladies there.
"Hey I bought booze and boys" she holds up a box of bags containing the Twilight books and the fifty shades of grey books. The group cheers and she walks over. To them they were currently watching Vampire Diaries, JJ, was painting Garcia's toes while Garcia was putting a face mask on Emily, Anya, runs over to the group and they all greet her with warm welcomes.
After an hour the women were officially feeling the buzz from the alcohol. They were doing face masks and playing truth or dare.
"Truth or Dare?.....Anny"
Anya thinks for a moment. "Truth."
"Do you like Hotch?"
Anya furrows her brows. "You mean our Boss Hotch....He annoys the living fuck out of me I dont know." she shrugs."That's mostly it."
"That's not it, it's a simple answer. Do you like him?" JJ asks
" I almost murdered him last week you realize that right?"
"So that could be your way of admitting your hidden feelings." Anya just sips her drink not going to respond. They all oooh and ahhh. "Oh, you totally like him."
"I do not!"
"Anya and Hotch sitting in a tree, K.i.s.s.i.n.g" they were all singing now and Anya just rolls her eyes.
"I thought we were getting ready for the club" She downs the rest of the wine. "I want to shake my ass lets go." they all get up and start getting ready, leaving their bags at Emily's where they were all gonna sleep after the club
The walk to the club was short, Anya had to admit they looked good, JJ had on a shirt red crop top and some jeans with some red wedges, and Emily had on a black v-neck t-shirt the sleeves were short like to her shoulders, and a black skirt to match with thigh high boots, Garcia had on a pink dress with pink heels and red and pink accessories, her boobs were pushed up and hair was curled, Anya, well she liked to wear the least close as possible, she was wearing a see-through sequin top with leather bell bottoms and black heels. The top was backless and showed off her chest just right, she had on a black choker and black smokey eyes. To say these women didn't look good would be a lie.
When you think of a guys' night you think of bars and endless drinking, that's exactly what Derek had in mind, he was going to get the BAU boys nice and loose, they seemed tense and uptight. He even invited Spencer along. What he didn't tell them was that the girls were also coming to the same exact club, and he didn't let that little tidbit of info be told, In all honesty, Morgan and Emily had planned this night out perfectly. They wanted to get everyone to lose and talk or just two people in specific. They figured that Hotch and Anya had sexual tension, whether they liked each other, well they couldnt tell they were mostly trying to murder each other every chance they got. All they knew was they needed to get laid quickly.
The night started off as a chill breeze, Morgan was texting Emily where their table was and the girls were two minutes from entering the club, they were excited to drink more and shake their asses in the words of Anya. when they arrived JJ leads them to the section where the tables were, and they "accidentally" bump into the Bau boys.
"Oh heyyy fancy meeting you guys here."
"Yeah, small world," Emily replies as the girls just make faces at the two,
"What are they doing here?"
Garcia nods. "Not that I dont want to see you my chocolate man it's just a girl's night."
"Hey, it's girl's night but we can still have fun with our boys and stuff our faces later."
The girls cave knowing they liked their boys too much and it was first rounds on Derek, by the fifth round everyone was loosening up and rather quickly. Anya was dancing with the girls they were all laughing and giggling and grinding on each other, it was like they didn't have a care in the world. Derek joins them and then Rossi, hell even Spencer joins them, Anya watches Hotch drinking off at the table. She sighs and walks over to him.
"Come join us."
Hotch shakes his head. "I dont dance."
"That's a lame excuse, come on tonight is supposed to be about letting loose. Your as tight as half of the woman's clothing in this club" Hotch laughs genuinely and Anya nods amused. "See your laughing that's new, now let's dance." He stares at her, "I am not taking no for an answer." he just sighs and she smiles dragging him onto the floor, everyone was dancing and before long they one by one leave the floor, watching as Anya and Hotch are dancing with each other. She was swinging her hips around and he was dancing awfully to the music which makes her laugh.
"You dance like a tense person," she yells over the music and he laughs again. ''Permission to touch." he just nods. "Thank you consent is key." he laughs again. "Okay step one to loose dancing is to throw out all the rules, who cares who is watching." Hotch nods, "Number two shakes your hips, now in your case I am going to help you." she places her hands on hips, "Now follow my hips." she turns so her ass is on his crotch, and sways her hips side to side than in a circle, "there you go," she nods. "Okay now just forget about everyone else and have fun." she moves her hips against his before letting the music take over, they make it back to the table after a long and everyone is chatting it up,
"I see Anya taught you how to groove," Derek says as Hotch nods. "Yeah, she did the same thing with me when we first went out changed my life,"
Anya shrugs. "What can I say? I am basically Shakira." they all laugh,
"More shots!" the waiter brings the shots to the table and everyone downs their shots and it's back to either playing darts, pool, or dancing. After an hour Anya feels the room becoming hot, so she decides to step outside.
"I am gonna go get some air."
"Oh take a buddy with you Anni," Emily says as Anya just scoffs,
"I'll be right outside Em. just five minutes. I promise.'' Emily hesitates at first but nods, she was so adamant about the buddy system, and Anya couldnt blame him. maybe it was because of their jobs? Or maybe it was simply the fact that she was a woman who had a few drinks and was going outside at night.
The night air made goosebumps appear on Anya's arms she stands outside the club looking at the night sky, the moon was half-crescent, and it shimmered over the streets, illuminating everything. She felt some kind of peace with everything. And yet something was still missing and she couldnt figure it out. A few more minutes pass and the door to the bar opens she just stands there staring at the sky, footsteps clattered against the pavement next to her and she looks over seeing Hotch approaching.
"I told Em I didn't need a buddy," she explains as Hotch just shrugs putting his hands in his pockets, he leans back against the wall. Everything seemed perfect until it starts pouring rain they clamour towards the door going inside as a lot of people were clamoring out. Hotch presses Anya against him, to move them both out of the way.
"I am sorry."
"It's not like I wasnt just grinding all over you an hour ago." She says simply his breath fans against her back and she feels herself coming unhinged. She bites her lip trying to not let it get to her. The crowd dies down and they head back to the table, the girls decide to call it a night and all head back to Emily's house Hotch takes a taxi home and he lays there in bed thinking about Anya, and how she made him feel.
They had a case in Miami Florida, and Anya was just ready to soak up the sun. of course she wasnt excited about the serial killer being there but you know someone has to do the jobs that others won't. JJ explains how there was a string of murders going on they were all Male. in their twenty-five to thirty-five, all traveling, and all asphyxiated. The body recovery locations are very different. Charles Luvet was found in the water. Daniel Brown was partially buried in the shallow sand dune. Paul Hayes was stuffed into a dumpster. This means the unsub isnt doing much of an effort to hide any of them. they were all found in high-Traffic areas. Miami PD is asking for their help, Considering there are currently four other men missing That match this victimology. Miami is a mecca for potential targets, And anyone traveling is more vulnerable than they normally would be. case in point, Charles Luvet, the latest victim, was a vacationing cop.
"There are no secrets better kept Than the secrets that everybody guesses." George bernard shaw.
They pile out of the SUV's and Reid complained about it being too hot. Morgan made a comment about the women instead of the weather and Reid made it known that he wasnt talking about that, Hotch comments that he knows what he was talking about and they meet with the detective on the case, a beautiful Latina woman By the name of Detective Lopez. Morgan was practically drooling over this woman. This causes all the women to roll their eyes and then JJ introduces everyone else. It still takes Anya some getting used to, hearing the words SSa Holmes. What they weren't expecting was Will Lamontagne to be there he was I.D. Charlie the dead cop's body. JJ was blushing from Will's appearance. She also introduces the other Agent working the case with them Agent Matt Rodriguez. He was the CIA's liaison for Violent crimes between most of the U.S.
"How are you, Agents" Matt goes to shake everyone's hand.
"Rossi, Morgan, Hotchner, Prentiss Doctor Reid and-"
"Agent Holmes, Yes I am familiar with her work," Matt waves bashfully. "Hi Anni"
Anya nods clearing her throat. "Matthew." the team was staring at the two and Emily was so going to ask her how they knew each other. She could feel Emily's eyes on her and she glares at her as Emily giggles silently.
"Charlie Luvet and I worked together for 7 years. We haven't formally i. D. Ed him yet, But we believe it's him." Will speaks up.
"Sorry for your loss, man."
"So, you all know each other?" Detective Lopez asks.
"Professionally."
"Yeah. The bau helped me out on a case about a year ago. Just for the sake of clarity, I'm not here to investigate. Charlie was supposed to be married this august, So if the guy that floated up last night was him, I guess I have the honor of notifying his fiancee, So she's gonna need some answers, and closure, And I'm just here to get that for her." Will explains.
Detective Lopez nods. Before turning to Anya and Matt. "You two know each other."
"Unprofessionally...It's uh complicated-"
Anya interrupts. "Ex-wife Not that complicated."
"Ahh, so she's the ex-wife," Lopez says as Matt nods.
Everyone else is trying to maintain their shocked faces, she was the youngest member of the team and she already had a divorce under her belt three more and she would beat Rossi. Rossi chooses to change the subject.
"Do you know why he was here?"
"He was meeting up with some college buddies To compete in a regatta. He was a big boat guy." Will continues.
"So, he wasn't traveling alone."
"Well, he came alone. He was meeting them here." Will says.
"We should track these friends down, see if they saw anything. And the Two other victims, any potential witnesses?"
"No. Paul Hayes was here alone on business. Daniel Brown came down to windsurf by himself." Lopez explains
"So, they were all essentially alone."
"The unsub watched them long enough to know that," Anya says as the profilers nod.
"Yeah. He's probably already scoping out his next victim, And I don't have a damn thing to warn people with, So come on inside." She leads them inside and it's a trek up a few stairs. "I've got everything all set up."
The team was now spilt up into groups, Rossi and Emily were looking at the clothing and items found on the victims. Reid and Morgan were with Detective Lopzed going to Dump sites and Anya, of course, was with two people she really disliked Matt and Hotch, they were with will so he could I.D the body and they could ask him questions. She was thankful that at least JJ was there.
"Yeah. That's him. That's Charlie Luvet." Will nods stepping back.
"We had to i. D. More than the photo before we could ship him. You're not family, but I can cut through the red tape."
"Thank you." Will replies
"Do you need help making arrangements? Liaising with families is part of what I do."
"I might just take you up on that. Excuse me. I'll be outside." Will goes to leave.
"I can take you to his hotel room," Matt says. As everyone nods. The car ride was weird, Anya sat in the back while the men sat in the front, JJ was sitting in the back with her and all Anya could think about was the questions the team was going to ask her when they had a free moment. She was praying that they didn't.
"So they've already dusted for prints. But we can look through see if there is something they might've missed." Matt explains as the group starts looking through stuff.
"I sure would feel better if we found his gun and shield. I'm thinking if somebody tried to grab him up here, He might have left them behind, you know?"
"Charlie left the hotel voluntarily," Hotch speaks up.
"What makes you say that?"
"Because we'd know if the valet had his car downstairs. This is a receipt for a mercury sable he rented. You know, most rental cars have locators in them. I'll call Garcia, and see if she can find out where it is right now." Hotch goes to leave.
"Yeah, I can't find anything here I will check security tapes."
"I'll go with you," Matt says as they pull off their gloves,
"How is it being all official now?"
Anya shakes her head. "Still not used to the badge and gun." he chuckles
"Yeah it's just hardware, you are still an agent with or without it." Anya smirks and they go over the footage not coming up with anything as Hotch arrives he explains how they found a plastic bracelet in Charlie's suitcase and were heading to the regatta where Charlie said he was coming out to Florida. Matt follows Will to where the regatta and they meet up with the owner. He takes a look at the bracelet. Before shaking his head and saying no it doesn't belong to them.
"That's not possible," Will says.
"Come on. I think I would know if there's a regatta Happening this weekend at my own club. Our regatta is held in September."
"But he said–"
"And I'm sorry, But we wouldn't use a plastic bracelet like this for participants. Our entry fee is $10,000." The man hands the evidence bag back to Hotch. "Good luck." he leaves.
"You sure that's what he said?"
Will nods. "Comes here every year for it. That's what he does on his annual Furlough."
Hotch's phone rings and he answers it. "Morgan." Hotch steps away to take the call.
//
"For you." JJ hands a Water bottle to Emily just as Anya comes over. She hands one to her too.
"Oh, thank you. You read my mind."
"I don't understand how it can be this dry when it's this humid," JJ says as they start sipping on the water.
"Mmm. Sweat all your fluids out outside And then come into bone-Dry air conditioning."
"Well, then if I could just hook this up to an iv–" JJ says staring at the water bottle.
"At least we have something fun to look at, Keep us on our toes."
"What do you mean?" JJ furrows her brows
"Lamontagne." they look back seeing Will looking over a file.
"You think so, huh?"
"Don't you?" Emily asks.
"Yeah. I guess he's– He has a thing."
Anya nods. "Definitely a thing."
"Speaking of things, Agent Rodriguez... Wowza."
"Yeah, ex-husband? Divorced arent you like twenty-four." Emily asks. As Anya sighs looking back at Matt who was talking with a few officers.
"We were high school sweethearts who got married right out of high school and things were good until things happened and I turned into a different person it was nothing against Matt he was a sweetheart, I just changed into a different person."
"You know who else married their high school sweetheart."
Anya makes a confused face. "Hotch." Emily and JJ say at the same time,
"So?"
"It proves that you guys are destined to be together," Emily says simply.
Anya stares at Hotch who was talking with Will. "Look I am not denying that Hotch isnt Handsome but we literally want to kill each other ninety percent of the time so it would never work." with that Anya just walks away leaving the two women.
"We are hooking them up together right?"
"Uh duh," Emily replies Detective Lopez tells everyone that the bau is about to present the profile. And the profilers give their usual profile before Anya decided to call it a night.
"What hotel are you staying at?" Matt was trying to get the info on Anya and she wasnt willing to give it.
"I really can't give that information to anybody."
Matt nods. "Yeah I understand, well maybe we can hang out sometimes before you leave."
Anya sighs. "What are we doing?"
"What do you mean?"
"We are divorced, Matthew, and we can't keep doing this, okay I love you yes that will never change but I am not in love with you, and its nothing to do with you and everything to do with me my needs have changed and that is totally okay." Matt looks sad at what she said.
"Shouldn't I get a say in this too?"
Matt just leaves after that and Anya sighs before leaning over the railing and thinking for a moment she then walks back inside.
"I thought you left," Hotch says as Anya is lost in thought.
'You said in the profile that the unsub was targeting gay males, Possibly due to his struggles With his own sexuality, right?"
"Right."
"Well, what if the reason Luvet let his guard down Was that he could finally be who he is--No judgments, no fear. What if the unsub is seeing freedom in his victims That he wishes he had himself?" Anya continues as Hotch nods at her approvingly. Before everyone else decides to call it night.
There was another body, the next morning and the profilers meet Matt and Detective Lopez at the scene.
"What have we got?" Hotch asks.
"Male, the same age range, And we found Luvet's police badge About half a block from here."
"So, the unsub either ditched it or dropped it When he was getting away. Any sign of Luvet's gun?" Morgan asks.
"No. He may be holding on to that."
"Why would he kill out in the open like this?" Reid asks.
"He's losing control emotionally. He could be devolving."
"Leaving the body out in plain sight? It's off-pattern" Anya explains.
"He was interrupted."
"Who interrupted him?" Emily asks.
Lopez waves a guy over behind her. "Bring him over." she turns to the group. "Bus boy. He's from the bar. Mi Hijto, these are the FBI people that I told you about, So just tell them everything you saw."
"All right. Well, I came out here On my break to have a smoke, And that guy was on the ground, and his friend said–"
"His friend?" Rossi asks.
"Yeah. His friend said that they had just been mugged."
"You spoke to this guy?" Emily asks.
"No, ma'am. I tried. But he did say that he was a cop, So he took off, and chased after those guys."
"Could you give a description of this cop to a sketch artist?" Derek holds up Charlie's badge.
"No. I can't. I mean, he was a white guy, but it was pretty dark out here, And he basically kept running away from me the whole time."
JJ takes him by his shoulder. "I'm gonna have to get all your information."
"Yeah, sure." they walk off.
"So, this guy is impersonating Luvet?" Matt asks.
"Could just be a ruse he used to get away."
"But if he is impersonating his victims, why?" Emily asks.
"Transference.:
"Whatever he sees in his victims, He wants for himself. He hates who he is. He's targeting tourists Because he sees them as living a kind of lie, too." Anya suggests as everyone nods agreeing.
"Could be suffering from cluster "b."
"Cluster "b"?" Lopez asks.
"A cluster of personality disorders. It's also called the erratic, dramatic emotional cluster, An enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior That differentiates itself markedly from the expectations Of the individual's culture. It manifests itself–"
"This guy's a sick dude." Derek interrupts Reid.
"But something triggers his constant need to escape. It could be drugs, sex, or Something that makes him feel vulnerable."
"and he can't allow himself the vulnerability," Hotch says.
"Escaping into the fantasy protects him from ever having to look at himself."
"You know, if the unsub lives in their skin, Odds are, he's living in their hotel rooms," Derek explains
Hotch walks over to the coroner who was loading the body up in her van. "Any i. D. On the body?"
"no wallet, nothing. It might have dropped. They're searching now."
"You're not gonna find anything. We need to roll the prints and run them. We need to figure out who he is and where he was staying." Hotch explains as the team gets to work.
Their dead was named Deacon rogers, Odessa, Texas. He's got a couple of minor arrests--One for marijuana possession, One for lewd behavior. Anya figure is code for gay in texas. His credit card shows him staying at a South Beach Hotel. The crew heads over there minus Hotch and Rossi. Lopez heads for the door first. They all get into the room finding it empty.
"Boy, he tore through this place in a hurry," Emily comments.
"What was he looking for?"
"Identity, anything to possess a new one," Emily suggests.
"He thinks there's a witness out there who can i. D. Him. It's not about fulfilling his need anymore. It's about his own survival. How does he escape?" Anya asks as Derek starts nodding agreeing with her.
"I'm gonna find out if Deacon Rogers had a car here." Derek pulls the files out on the bed looking over them with Reid and Anya while Prentiss was look through the one suitcase in the room
"Think we missed something?" Lopez asks watching them.
"I don't know."
"Forensics pulled hair from the sink, But it'll be days before we get results," Lopez explains.
"We don't have that kind of time."
"The unsub can't follow his pattern. He thinks there might have been a witness, So he's gonna need to change identities sooner than usual." Reid explains
"What if he can't?"
"What do you mean?" Lopez asks.
"We're predicting that the unsub may take another life in the next 24 hours Because there was a witness who saw him. Remember what Garcia said, that specific paradigm– 2 victims in one day? That occurred one other time. The first 2 men disappeared on the same day." Anya explains
"Because somebody might have seen something That threatened the unsub with getting caught?"
"It's worth profiling," Derek says,
"Steven Fitzgerald first went missing 2 months ago, Took a bus to Miami from Oakland park, Which is just up the highway, Never seen again. Robert Feeney flew in for a wedding But never arrived at his hotel."
"We need to get back in these files, Question both families. Somewhere along the way, their paths may have crossed." Derek gathers the files and they head to the family's houses, Rossi and Hotch talk with the Dad while Anya, Emily, and Derek talk with the sister.
"Once he got to the motel, he was supposed to call," Sarah explains.
"But he never did."
"Every time that phone rings– I know in my heart that steven was happy that day. I swear, it was the first time I'd seen him smile in years. He'd been talking about taking that trip for weeks." She had unshed tears in her eyes.
"Sarah, you don't have to justify your brother getting on that bus."
"Yes...I do, 'cause...It was my fault."
"Why would you say that?" Emily says.
"Because I gave Steven the money to go to Miami."
"Why?" Derek asks.
"I was trying to help him to go somewhere else, Somewhere he could feel safe."
"Safe from what?"
"Don't look behind you Sarah, your safe with us you understand?" Anya says
"You afraid somebody is gonna hear you? Who were you protecting your brother from, Your father?"
"Was your father hurting Steven?" Emily asks.
"He really believes he was doing what's right."
"So, he did throw him around a little bit," Derek says as Sarah sighs.
"They just– They didn't see eye to eye. Steven couldn't stay here anymore, And I had to help him get out."
"Is your father hurting you, too?" Anya asks.
"Never."
"How come?" Emily asks.
"Because she's not the one who's gay."
//
The BAU team finds themselves at yet another crime scene. They arrive to see a dead body in a convertible with Texas plates. Anya was with Hotch taking Statements from the Steven Fitzgerald family. Matt was tagging along when they heard about where Steven might be he was taking over his victim's identities, It's his illness. That's why it was so hard to catch every victim he killed he would turn into. Matt explains how they are going to Hostels and Anya decides to go to the one with Derek and Lopez she arrived fight second after they pull up there. Praying that Hotch and Matt dont kill each other.
"How is Anya? Is she a good Asset to your team?" Matt asks.
"She has evolved into a really great profiler."
Matt rubs his nose against his thumb his. "Anya has problems, okay, she is a flight risk, she has mental issues, psychological issues, she needs help and I have tried and tried to get her the help she needs but she doesn't listen to me anymore. Look I am just worried about her, Why dont you let me take her home after this case?"
Hotch didn't like Matt one minute he is playing this sweet guy and the next at a flip of a switch he is cold and demanding, by the swipe of his thumb he is this completely different person.
"Excuse me?"
Matt sighs rubbing at his head anger evident on his face. . "Anya is my wife and I am just looking out for her."
"Anya is my responsibility and I will not let your past interfere with her job. With that being said, stay away from her, she clearly doesn't want to be around you and I can see why." the two men were staring at each other with angry eyes, It was one thing to piss off Anya but pissing off Aaron Hotchner was the biggest mistake of your life.
The director of the Hostel was standing outside with Derek, Anya, and Detective Lopez.
"Michael Aldridge checked in an hour ago," she explains reading off her clipboard.
"What room did you put him in?"
The woman nods. "It's like a day room kind of thing, Like a dormitory."
"A dormitory full of kids?"
"It's pretty full." The woman replies. Lopez takes off walking towards the door.
"Lopez, slow down. The rest of my team is on their way. We should wait."
"Look. I got a nut with a gun in a hostel full of kids. If you want to wait, wait." She continues inside as Anya just shrugs running after her.
The trio enters the room.
"Get them out of here" the officers were moving the kids out of the room. "Fbi. Nobody move. Nobody panic."
"Looking for Steven Fitzgerald." They keep calling his name seeing him at a table with a kid. The kid just puts his hands up in defense before Derek nods and he runs off. "Steven?"
"Steven?"
Anya steps forward towards Steven who had his back turned. As Derek gets into protective mode, "Michael? Michael Aldridge? Michael."
Steve turns around to face them. "Yes? What--What is this? What do you want?"
"I want you to put that bag down. I just want to talk to you."
"But I have done nothing. I didn't do anything." Steven has his hand in his backpack.
"I know. I know. There's nothing in that bag you need, Michael. I just want some information. I need to find Steven."
"My name is Michael. I do not know Steven." He says in a german accent.
"Yes, you do. Yes, you do."
"No. I don't know Steven." his voice was growing louder and louder.
"Yes, you do. Yes, you do. You know where he is."
"No. I don't know steven! I don't know steven! Why do you want steven? Steven is stupid. He's--He's disgusting He's filthy!" He was yelling.
"Steven, listen to me. Nothing is wrong with you. Nothing, okay? Look. I'm gonna show you. Stay with me, ok? I'm gonna put this away." Anya starts putting her gun in its holster.
"Anya...Anya...."
"Steven, look at me. Look right at me. Steven, do you remember who Sarah is? Hmm? Sarah is your sister. Sarah is worried about you, Honey." Anya was stepping closer each time she said something.
"My sister?"
Anya nods. "Yeah. Your sister Sarah. Steven, she loves you. She wants you to stop running."
"Sarah."
Anya nods again "Yeah. Steven, it's ok. Put that bag down."
"I didn't do anything wrong."
"I believe you." she was slowly getting closer and closer with each word.
"I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't do anything wrong." He lowers the ba eventually just dropping it to the floor.
"It's ok. It's ok."
"I didn't do anything wrong."
"It's ok." she turns Steven around so his back is facing her. " I got to do this." she begins cuffing him while Lopez and Derek are looking through the bag.
"You have to tell him that I didn't do anything with those other guys. I never did. I never did."
"I will." she places a hand on his shoulder. "Steven, I promise you, I will tell him." she places him in the squad car. Derek took the heat from Detective Lopez's abruptness. He bragged about Anya's take down all while calling her reckless but he gave her a big hug and it made up for everything. They went back to the precinct and gathered things up to leave only for Emily to Pull Anya over by her arm she is about to complain about the abruptness when she nods seeing Will and JJ kissing.
"It's about damn time." Anya scoffs folding her arms over her chest.
"Mm. I thought she was never gonna admit it."
"Yeah. What's it been, like, a year?" Reid asks.
"Yeah, something like that," Derek mutters walking off.
"We should be matchmakers we are just that good." Anya high-fives Emily the two decide to leave the couple to their making out.
"if we knew each other's secrets, What comforts we should find." John Churton collins.
