~Chapter 4~

Two days Later. . .

When Wilbur woke up, he didn't expect it to be in a completely different room than the one he fell asleep in, laying on a comfortable bed that he definitely doesn't remember falling asleep on. Along with that, it was also a room that definitely didn't belong to the train station he was so used to seeing at this point. It was an underground room, he could tell that much, but other than that, there was not much else to go off of. Is this another one of Tommy's dreams?

It didn't make sense why he would wake up in such an odd place if it was, as it usually would be in random flower fields or in the depths of Pogtopia. Confused, Wilbur sat up, looking around the dimly light room before landing on a singular wooden door. He stood up, brushing some of his unruly hair out of the way before advancing towards it. He didn't get too far before he heard the door click and slowly open up.

Wilbur paused as a person walked in, his eyes widening at seeing Dream of all people. He had his mask on, as usual, so Wilbur didn't know what exactly the man was planning, but he did know that whatever it was wouldn't be good. "Oh, you're finally awake!" Wilbur forced himself to stay calm, forcing his anger and hatred towards the man to not show.

"Yes, I am. How long was I out?" Dream shut the door once he was in the room, leaving the only exit to be behind the man now. Wilbur looked at the door, wondering how much force he would have to put into breaking it down.

"About two days." Wilbur's eyes snapped back towards the man. "I brought you back because I need your help." The brunette was silent for a moment, looking at Dream as he tried to figure out what the man meant. What in XD could this man need from someone like him? Why does he think he would even help him? He doesn't know I know what he's done. He thinks that I'm in the dark. He wants to use me as his new puppet.

The realization hit Wilbur suddenly. He knew everything, how he tortured Tommy, how he tried to kill Tommy. He knew how he killed Ghostbur, and memories from his ghost form slowly entered his mind. He saw more than he wanted to see of the evil this man was capable of.

"What exactly do you need help with?" Wilbur shoves his balled fists into his trenchcoat pockets, eyes watching the man with as much void as he could. Dream sighed, lowering his head before he looked back up.

"Tommy was exiled again for lighting George's house on fire, right?" Wilbur fakes surprise, even though he wants to say that that was a stupid reason for him to exile Tommy as Wilbur is pretty sure that was even common for people to do before he even died.

It was probably a lazy excuse for the man to finally get Tommy alone, to finally torture the boy and try and turn him into something that he could use as some sort of weapon. At least that's what it had looked like to him. He kept his tongue, though. Wilbur had to make it look like he didn't know what he was talking about.

"Tommy was exiled?" Dream nodded, Wilbur deciding to put on an act and look towards the floor with wide eyes.

"Well, during exile, Technoblade had came and attacked out of nowhere. I ended up trying to fight him off when he started placing TNT, but it was too late. Explosions started going off, and Tommy was caught in the crossfire. His wings were destroyed. I had managed to almost take down Technoblade, but he overpowered me at the last minute and grabbed Tommy. He threatened to kill him if I didn't let them leave together." Dream paused, pulling a believable shaky breath as his fists shook slightly as if he was reliving horrid memories he didn't want to relive. "I had thought it was a bluff, so I had said he wouldn't even dare." Another silent pause, the man looking down towards the floor as his hand shook even more violently, the next words leaving his mouth as if it was too painful to say. "He had cut off one of Tommy's wings to show me he wasn't lying. He was gonna do the same thing to the other one, but I finally gave in."

"This is horrible... I didn't think that Technoblade would even do something like that to his own blood." Wilbur felt sick just agreeing with what the man was saying, but he didn't have much choice either. A hiccup left Dream's throat along with a few tears falling down onto the ground, and he nodded in agreement with the brunette's words.

I didn't know Dream was such a good actor. Makes you wonder what else he's lied about with this talent he has. Even so, Wilbur kept his shocked and angry look, his face paling as he listened to the man continue. Guess I'm pretty good at it too, though. Maybe it's something that people on this server just learn.

"He took off with him, a-and I can't get him back now. Technoblade has him on lockdown in his cabin, and with Philza also helping him, I'd die on sight." So, Dream's trying to get Tommy back so he can continue his plan. He just needs me temporarily. He needs me in order to get to Tommy. "I need your help to save Tommy."

Seems I'm right. Wilbur just stared at the other for a long time. He needed to get out as soon as possible, but that would be hard for him since he doesn't even know where he was. I guess for now, I really do need to play along with this crazed man. "Anything you need, I will help. Tommy's my little brother, I-I don't ever want to see him in danger again..." I'll save Tommy from the likes of you, I'll keep him safe and away from you.

"Good, because I need all the help I can get." Dream says, turning back towards the door. He still sounded in pain, even as he opened and closed the door. Wilbur sat there for a long time, staring at the place that Dream once was. He needed to figure out how to get out of there and to his family as soon as possible. Wilbur's fists clenched at his sides, brows creased together as his anger finally began to break free. Don't worry, little bird, I'm gonna protect you this time.

"Where are we going?" Tommy hugs the coat he wore closer to himself as he and Technoblade walked further away from the cabin that the blond was so accustomed to now. Technoblade was quiet, only looking back toward his little brother before shrugging. Tommy huffed in irritation, his one wing flapping in the cold air. He wanted to fly, but he knew he couldn't do that anymore. It hurt him that he had to admit that fact to himself so often.

He ignored his painful thoughts and decided to pay attention to the now. He rushed up to the piglins side, crossing his arms before beginning to speak once again. "You could at least tell me where we are heading, y'know." Technoblade rolled his eyes, a small and almost unheard chuckle leaving his lungs.

"What's the fun in that, though?" Tommy groaned in irritation, slamming his whole body into the older and taller brother's side, watching as the man barely moved an inch by the impact. Tommy guessed he still barely weighed anything, so it wasn't too surprising. Technoblade playfully glared down at his younger brother, a mischievous smirk on his face. "Pipsqueak." Tommy squawked at the man's words.

"Who are you calling Pipsqueak?" Technoblade squints at the blond, eyes roaming the area they were walking in before looking back at his little brother.

"You." Tommy huffed, his cheeks puffing out slightly in irritation before looking back at the scene before them.

"I'm not a pipsqueak, I've grown quite a lot, thank you very much." His one wing stretched out before settling on his back again, raising his head high before uncrossing his arms. "But seriously, where are we going?" Techno sighs, pulling his cape closer to himself before looking back towards his little brother.

"We're going to go train." Tommy perked up at this, his blue eyes shining at the pinkette's words.

"Couldn't we've done that at the cabin, though?" Technoblade shrugs at Tommy's words.

"I guess, but I thought that it would be more fun if we did it somewhere more secluded. I know you and dad aren't on the best of terms, and without him around, I figured you'd be more comfortable or something." Tommy's heart warmed at his brother's considerate thinking, a small smile forming on the mans face.

"Oh." Techno only nodded, still trudging through the snow as if it wasn't even there. It was awkward for a while, the two only walking silently as they made it to wherever the pinkette was trying to take him. Eventually, the older one looked back at him with a raised eyebrow.

"What? Was I wrong?" Tommy shrugged, looking towards the snow they were trekking through.

"Phil, he told me why you guys left." It was Techno's turn to be awkward, his eyes growing wide before he snapped his head to look forwards again. Tommy hoped he didn't say the wrong thing.

"What exactly did dad tell you?" Tommy sighed, tipping his head back to look at the blue sky before he answered.

"Well, he told me that you have voices... and when we were younger, they were really bad. He told me you attacked Wilbur before you two left, too. He said he didn't want me or Wilbur getting hurt, and that's why he left with you." Technoblade sighs, stopping in his tracks to face the teen head on. He looked guilty, blue eyes clouded with grief and frustration.

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about." Tommy tilted his head in question, Technoblade rolling his eyes with a tired sigh before continuing. "About why we left like we did. I was going to tell you all that."

"Oh." The brother only nodded.

"I don't know why or how they appeared, but I started hearing voices... I- it started with just rodents, but the voices only grow louder and more controlling every day. When I attacked Wilbur... It...well..."

Technoblade fell onto his back, sword falling out of his hand as Wilbur's own iron sword touched his chin. The other twin smirked as he pushed his circular glasses back into place on his nose. "And I win." Wilbur laughed, poking technoblade's chin with his sword playfully. "Wow!I actually managed to beat you at sparring? Is the great blade getting rusty?" Wilbur laughed, the pinkette frowning at his brother's words.

Is he calling you weak?

You're not weak!

"Lucky chance." Techno growled, his hand tightening around his sword.

"Lucky chance? Techno, I caught you so off guard it wasn't even funny! Huh? Where did he go? BEHIND YOU BITCH!" Wilbur leaned forwards as he laughed, a huge smile as he did so. Technoblade's eyebrows scrunched together as his small frown turned into a sneer.

He's making fun of you!

Kill him!

No one makes fun of you!

Kill!

KILL!

Kill!

Kill him!

Technoblade slowly got up, his usually blue eyes turning a red tint as the voices chanted. Before he knew it, he saw red, heard yelling, and was pulled off a screaming Wilbur. When he came to Wilbur was holding his newly bruised neck, circular glasses crooked and tears covering his face. "TECHNOBLADE WHAT DID YOU DO!"

Techno was silent as he relived the incident, Tommy frowning as he saw how distraught the man was. "I didn't mean to hurt him, Tommy. But back then I couldn't control the voices at all. They got too powerful and took over easily, and Philza knew that it was getting too dangerous. So he took me and started helping me learn how to control them so I never attacked someone like that again." Tommy has never seen his older brother cry before, so when he saw tears leaking out of the man's eyes he was too shocked to move. "If I could hurt Wilbur, I could have hurt you too. I could have done more than just hurt you two, I could have killed you. I can barely handle the fact I almost strangled Wilbur to death, I don't think I could live with myself if I had killed him, or even you if it ever came to that." Tommy inched forwards, slowly embracing the tearful man. "I don't know what I would have done." it was silent between the two, technoblade slowly composing himself as Tommy only hugged the piglin hybrid.

"It's ok Techno, I understand why you guys left. It just still hurts that you did. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get over being abandoned, and the fact Philza was acting like nothing was wrong since I woke up... it's... it just hurts more." Technoblade nods, finally backing away from the hug.

"I know, but don't blame dad for what happened. He had good intentions, we didn't know it was going to go so south." Tommy doesn't answer, only gives a quick nod as he takes in his brother's words. "Now, let's... go train. Yeah?" The avian gives a small smile.

"Yeah... let's go train."
