Neil: is it too late?...did I take too long he asked in a cracked tone but all he got was silence as nobody answered his question

Taking a deep breath neil got in his jeep and headed home

After sometime he reached to the khanna mansion and without saying a word went to his room and sat on the bed

Neil: y...y did I realise my feelings so late...y did I take time to tell avni my feelings...y...y neil Khanna y...can there still be a chance? Can I convince avni that I really love her?...only one person can answer my question and that is avni  he said to himself as he looked at avni picture that was on the wall

Neil decided to freshen up

He got up and walked towards the wardrobe and was about to open his side of cupboard when he noticed a paper sticking out from avni side...
Opening the door the paper fell on the floor upside down, he picked it up and  was about to place it properly back into her  wardrobe when he noticed a word written on the paper "divorce'...Neil went still when he also noticed avni had signed on it

A long tear rolled down his cheeks...his heart felt heavy...avni had taken a decision already...

Neil: how can I let you go chatterbox...my life is incomplete without you...nothing feels the same when you are not here...when you had left college it felt so odd and then when you left the country itself... it felt like everything was different and nothing felt the same...a part of me had gone with you....and when you came back I felt as if I was able to breath Again...I was confused to what I was feeling for you and then I realised myself that love is what I feel for you...not what I had felt for mithali ...how will I stay without you?  he said as he looked at the divorce paper as he sat against the wardrobe

Neil closed his eyes as he recalled his time with avni from the past till now ..and for how his happiness she left him so that he relation with mithali  doesnt get spoiled....how she sacrificed her love for him so that he can be happy with the person who he thought he loved...

Neil: I got my answer chatterbox...when you can sacrifice your happiness and love for me in the past...then I can do that for you too...to hell with sahil challenge...I want you to stay willingly with me avni and if sahil is the person you choose then be it...no matter how much me and sahil dont get along...your love was unconditional and so will mine be...neil will still love his avni unconditionally and live with the memories he made with her be it old or new...he said smiling painfully as he looked at their picture...his eyes all welled up

Neil slowly got up and walked towards his desk and looked at the frame that had him and avni smiling crazily...a small chuckle left his lips while his eyes welled up slowly as he caressed the photo looking at avni and then placed it down
Taking a pen and paper he looked at it blankly and then back at the frame...with few deep breath he started writing
After some.time he looked at the piece of paper  scanning what he wrote for avni...getting up  he walked towards the wardrobe picking up the divorce paper which he had left on the floor
Signing it he placed the divorce paper in the drawer and left the letter on the desk

Neil packed some clothes and grabbed his phone as he headed down to see.only shweta in the living room while bebe had left to go to the mandir nearby.. shweta looked ahead and  was surprised to see him with a small suitcase

Shweta: Tillu what's this? Where are you going with this small suitcase?

Neil: I am going out of city to handle a case mom...it was all suddenly that I wasnt able to inform you all he said lieing

Shweta: oh Gods...ok fikar not I had made some snacks take that with you...is vidyut coming too?

Neil: no mom just me... vidyut doesn't know as the commissioner called me I'll inform him later

Shweta: ok that's fine but did you inform avni?

Neil gulped

Neil: I'll call her once I reach there he said...

Shweta told him to wait and ran to get some snacks she then gave it to Neil who hugged her and told her to take care

1 hour later

Avni and sahil reached to Khanna mansion...getting out of the car she headed in with sahil and heard shweta voice coming from the kitchen

Avni: maa she said called out as she headed in the kitchen to see.shweta arguing with the cook

Avni: maa sahil will be staying for dinner

Shweta: ok beta she said about to get back to arguing with the cook when sahil spoke

Sahil: aunty where is neil

Shweta: beta woh...before shweta could continue avni interrupted

Avni: he must be in the study room or upstairs come let's see she said heading out followed by sahil

Shweta: beta he has gone out town she said but at that time the pressure cooker whistle went off making them not hear what she said

They checked the study room to see it empty and headed up

As they entered the bedroom they found it empty

Avni walked towards the washroom door to see it open whereas sahil checked the balcony

Avni: where is Neil? I thought he would be home by now

Sahil: y dont you try calling him..

Avni nodded when she noticed something on the table with her name written on it

Avni: y is my name on this paper she said in a low voice which sahil saw

Sahil: did neil leave that for you?

Avni turned to look at sahil and then towards the desk moving her hand forward she grabbed the letter

Avni looked at the letter that neil left for her

She placed the flowers and gift that sahil had got for her and sat down

As she opened the letter she didnt know y but her heart was beating fast

We have been friends since childhood not those fake friends  but real friend be it from annoying each other till taking a stand for each other everyone knew we were inseparable and that was the beauty of our friendship...we had always been really close but fate decide to play such game that I didn't know our relation would turn this complicated
I didnt know there would be a new turn..
I was angry for u leaving but after u came back my anger vanished...
i never wanted to put u in that state but somewhere I did....

maybe I became too selfish to keep u with me as i didnt realise when I started loving u but now I wont force u chatter box ...

but now  all that matters to me is your happiness and I always would want you to be happy
so I have signed the divorce paper that was in your cupboard...its in the right hand drawer of my desk

Sahil: avni he called out as he placed a hand on her shoulder who was still..

Avni looked at the letter as a tear  rolled down her cheeks...sahil took the letter from her and started to read it whereas avni  slowly opened the drawer taking out the divorce paper to see Neil's sign but also her sign

She then walked towards the wardrobes to see few of Neil's  clothes missing and a empty space on the bottom where he would kept his small suitcase 

Avni: did he leave? Did he do the same thing by doing what I did years back???...did he??? She said looking into space while sahil looked at her after finishing reading the letter

Sahil: avnii he said walking towards her who looked at him

Avni: he loves me sahil Neil loves me and yet he had no slightest idea that I HEARD his confession last night and his  gesture this morning...

Sahil hugged avni as she cried

Avni: I'm...im going to call him she said searching for her phone to see it kept near the gifts and grabbed it dialling Neil's number which kept going on voicemail

Avni kept on trying while sahil watched avni who was trying to keep herself from breaking down.. suddenly shweta walked in with two glass of juice which he took from her

Shweta: sahil Beta drink think juice and you too avni she said turning to avni to see her walking back and forth while on the phone

Sahil: aunty do you know where neil is ...avni turned towards them as she heard Neil's name

Shweta: haan he said he had to go out of town for some case as he got to know suddenly and said he would inform avni later on..i tried to tell you but the pressure cooker whistle came  between my voice she said jokingly and excused herself from there

Sahil: I dont think neil went on the pretext of work avni

Avni: I agree but how do we figure out where he is as the calls are going straight.to voicemail.

Both thought for a second when they realised

Avni/sahil: vidyut they both said in one go
