As they reached to the condo both got out

Avni: neil... who have we come to meet?

Neil:nobody he said

Before avni could turn to neil to ask more questions he put a blindfold around avni eyes

Avni: neil what are you doing she said able to feel him tie the fold

Avni took a deep breath when she felt neil whisper in her ears

Neil: get ready for the surprise avni...mainly planned by me only he said

His one hand went around her shoulder while he held her other hand with their fingers intertwined

As they reached outside the condo door avni felt  neil move away from her

Expecting him to speak he didnt say anything and as she coudlnt take the silence anymore she took the blindfold of and closed her eyes as she tried to adjust to the light...when she was able to see clearly she turned around to see if neil was behind her but he was nowhere

Avni: where did neil go she said facing the same direction she was standing earlier when her lips parted seen what was on the door

There was a big banner with HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVNIII on the door and the best thing about the banner was that it has small images of hers on the letters from when she was child to now...as she moved her hand to caress it she noticed a small piece of paper which was folded and attached to her name

Avni took the paper out and unfolded it to see  what was written inside

"open the door with  that crazy  smile 🤪" avni giggles a little by seen the note

She pushed the door open to see it was dark but as she opened the door she was awestruck with the way the condo was decorated

On the wall there was another banner with happy birthday my chatterbox written and her pictures stuck around the banner with silver and black balloons on the floor and some on the couches with few few red heart shaped balloons

Neil closed the door silently while avni was taking the decoration in and he came and stood behind her

Avni as if sensing neil she came back to reality when she felt him standing behind her and before she could move her breathing stopped when he spoke 

Neil: happy birthday avni he whispered in her ears making her jump with the close proximity

Avni turned to look at him and held her breath when he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear

Neil: come and sit here he said taking her near the coffee table and made her sit down on the small stool

As he was about to move away she stopped him holding his wrist

Avni: now where are you going?

Neil: I'm here wait a minute he said smiling and removed her hold from his wrist

Avni watched as neil moved near the kitchen area and opened the fridge and taking something out but as he turned towards her she was surprised to see a small cake that he was holding

As neil placed the cake in front of her with few candles he told her to blow and make a wish

Avni nodded and looked at Neil before closing her eyes and made a wish to always keep him and her family always  happy and then blew the candle and cut the cake as neil sang her a birthday song

As she took a piece and fed neil and then when he fed her she frowned as she she tasted the cake

Avni: this cake doesnt look like it's from  the bakery did shweta ma make it ?

Neil: nope he said smiling as he wiped the corner of her lips as some cream was there

Avni:then?

Neil:I made it

Avni eyes widened

Avni: you made it??? She said turning towards him as he was sitting besides on her on his knees

Neil:haan I made it...i told you na all the arrangements that have been done here is done by me only means the cake is made from scratch by me too

Avni: really? Means you took all the efforts to even make me cake ?

Neil: haan I can do that much for you right

Avni smiled....she moved forward and hugged neil

Avni: I'm touched Neil honestly...I know this is not the first time that you have done something for my birthday but this is the first time you have ever gone this far too do everything all yourself even baking cake which you clearly could have ordered

Neil: oye chatterbox this is not the time to get senti

avni: well if you do such things I cant help it sometimes  from a crazy person you become so nice that we cant help It she said breaking the hug

Neil: crazy person haan he said tickiling her to which she laughed and fell.over him as he continued to tickle her making her roll on the her back beside him

Avni:ok sorry sorry stop now she said still laughing

Neil:much better he said trying to catch up with his breath and threw a balloon on her

Avni: neilllll she said throwing some balloon on him but shrieked when she popped a balloon for a sec both were silent when they both burst out laughing laying beside each other

After.a while neil got up and moved to the music player as he started a romantic song making avni look at him as she sat up

neil: may I have a dance with the birthday girl he said in a low voice

Avni chuckled and nodded and got up with the help of neil

Neil slid his hand on her waist slowly making avni stiffen and as he pulled her closer her lips parted slowly

Neil: what happened he asked in a low voice with a small smile playing on his face

Avni: um nothing she said looking down for a sec and then looked back up to act normal but even she knew she couldnt be normal by having this man close to her like this

Neil and avni moved slowly to the beat while they felt the wind touching their skin

Avni looked at neil and then while Neil's gaze lingered on avni making her confused and happy at the same time with his stare...she wanted to have hopes but at the same time she didnt want to

Neil then twirled avni around few times when his both hands landed on her waist and her one hand on his shoulder and the other on his chest

Due to twirling avni around few times few strands of hair was covering her face which neil was finding as a disturbance...avni watched as his hand moved towards her face and removed the hair from her face with his fingers slightly brushing against her skin making her close her eyes for few secs and then open them again

Neil: you comfortable?

Avni: haan she said barely able to speak properly

Neil stroked her cheeks with his thumb and moved to place a kiss on her forehead...if it was first the first time avni would have found it weird but this hasnt been the first time Neil has placed a kiss on her forehead or cheeks  as it has always been commen and normal in their friendship...she wanted to take Neil's behaviour in a different way but was scared remembering his last behaviour when they had a lip lock...knowing her feelings for him have changed so all his actions will have a different effect on her

Avni moved her hand on his lower back and moved to rest her head on his chest.while neil moved his hand on her back as both continued to move slowly to the music

Neil: how was this surpise?

Avni smiled as she stayed in the same position listening to his heartbeat

Avni: something I hadn't expected ...one of the best surprise that anyone can plan

Neil: well I know I'm the best and since you are with the best person you deserve all the good things coming your way

Avni: awwww since I'm sweet you are learning to talk sweetly...this is what happens when you stay with someone who is the Bestest

Neil:is that soooooo

Avni: yessss...by the way where is my gift she said looking at him with her hands still around his lower back as she stopped moving

Neil:I knew it that you would want a gift in the end...I had thought this surpise will make me get away from giving you a gift but sadly I was wrong

Avni: well I want my gift at any cost so chalo where is my gift

Neil smiled and pointed towards the bed where there was about 3 gifts for avni

Avni excitingly moved towards the bed and sat down while neil followed and sat beside her watching her excitingly open the gifts one by one

As avni opened the first gift she saw there was an apple watch

Avni: neilll you know I actually wanted one of these...thank you so much

Neil:the advantage of been a police officer he said pulling his shirt collar up where as avni rolled her eyes

She then opened the next gift up which had a A shaped initials on the necklace with crystal around the letter

Avni : this is beautiful

Neil:can I put it on you ?

Avni: yes...

Avni gave neil the necklace and turned around so that neil can hook the clip from the back...once done avni looked at the necklace that  now was around her neck

Neil:last gift is waiting for your attention madam come on 

Avni smiled and picked the last gift up

Neil:carefully ok

Avni frowned with a smile and unwrapped the gift

As she removed the wrapping paper her lips parted slowly seen the photo frame that was made out of  glass with a message written "for life" below the picture...avni stared at the picture that was of hers and neils together which was taken before they were gonna start college

Neil: this picture has always been our favourite though I did find it a little weird adding this pic because seen that avni in the picture and now this avni in front of me is like two set of people one who was a tomboy and now one who has grown into a beautiful person

Avni smiled as neil said that...her cheeks slightly turned red when he called her beautiful

Avni: no matter how I am but this picture will always be precious and forget me mr look at you with this crazy cap of yours this baggy trousers and top and now look at you...I must say you have turned into a handsome young man she said looking at the frame and then at neil

Neil: correction I have always been handsome that is y all girls wanted to date me

Avni : whateverrrrrr don't get so high

Neil:well a fact is a fact deal with it

Avni: this is a free world it's my choice if I want to take this as a fact or not

Neil: correct it is a free world so I'll consider it as a fact

Avni: well anyways...thank you for the gifts neil they all are lovely

Neil:I'm glad you loved it...so do you want to go back home now he said picking the cake up and placed it in a cake container

Avni:can we stay here for tonight plesse?only if you are comfortable and ok with it

Neil who was closing the container was surprised when avni said that

Neil : you want to stay over?

Avni: yh only if you are ok with it

Neil:I have no issues avni but you havent bought any clothes

Avni placed the frame down and walked over to neil

Avni: have you got clothes over here

Neil: well I do have my spare clothes here

Avni didnt answer and moved to open Neil's wardrobe and searched

Once she found what she was looking for she turned to Neil who saw a teeshirt and jogging bottoms in her hand

Avni:dont forget I once was a tomboy who would even wear your clothes she said smirking and walked to the washroom while Neil smiled widely

Neil:avni in my clothes again...this time the feeling is different he said pushing his hair back

He sat on the cou u recalling all their happy moments till nks 

Neil :I'll cherish this moment too and the time we will spend tonight and every other night

Precrap: neil caressed avni hand

neil: life was so strange avni here I thought I only loved you as a friend but it took me so long to realise that I had always loved you more than a friend and still love you...I'm sorry for giving you pain always but I love you chatterbox I love you more than anything he said with tears in his eyes
