The host comes on the stage with a mike.

Host- Good evening ladies and gentlemen.. so today's award of the business woman of the year goes to.. to.. AVNI KHANNA.

Everyone claps. Avni walks on the stage in a royal blue gown.

Avni- thank you so much for this award.. well.. I would like to dedicate this award to someone.. without whom I would never be able to reach here.

Host- who is that person?

Avni smiled a bit.
Avni- vahi jo mere liye Sab se lad Gaye.. Apne family se bhi.. Voh mere pati Neil Khanna hai.. she remembered the day when Neil took stand for her while going against everyone.

Flashback

Shweta- Neil.. I will never accept this girl! And how can you marry a illegitimate girl.. no I am not Letting you marry this girl! This is my final decision! She said sternly.

Neil looked at her in disbelief. He turned his gaze to look at Bebe but turned her face away.

Shweta- Tillu beta why don't you understand.. this girl is trapping you for money.. and what will society think that you married a sin!?

Neil looked at Avni who was standing there in tears. Shweta- continued her blabbering.

Shweta- She is a chea--

But she couldn't complete her sentence.

Neil- Enough!! He yelled at her but immediately calmed down as Avni held his arm to stop him. But he didn't.
That's my wife whom you are talking about.. and I would not tolerate a word against my wife. And I don't fu*king care about society! My Avni doesn't need to prove herself to anyone. I repeat ANYONE. And I am going to marry her and that's my FINAL decision. You are invited in my wedding.

He turned to Prakash.

Neil- dad..
Prakash- I trust you beta.. And no matter what I am always with you.. he said while glancing at shweta and Bebe.
Neil nods and hugs him.

He held avni's hand and went from there.

End of flashback.

She looks at the audience and continues.
Society kabhi ek illegitimate Ko accept nahi karta.. par mere pati ne sabki parwah kiye bina mujhe accept Kiya..

Everyone smiled. Host questioned her about him not being there for her most important day.

Avni smiled sadly.
Avni- voh ab hamare bich nahi rahe.

Everyone gasped.

Avni- mere pati ek navy officer the.. ek honest officer.. jo kabhi apni country Ko protect karne se piche nahi hate.. he breathed his last while fighting for his country.. aur honest officers kabhi marte nahi hai.. voh hamesha Zinda rehte hai.. yaha..
And keeps her hand on her heart and continues. Hamare Dil me.. and I can proudly say that I am Avni Neil Khanna..

She ends her speech with tears in her eyes. She heard a big applause from the audience. She couldn't hold back her tears and left the place as soon as possible.

She ran to the parking area and fell on her knees. She still remembered the day he left.

Flashback

Avni was packing Neil's bag. She didn't even utter a word after Neil told her the news of leaving. She knew if she would speak to him she will break down which she didn't wanted. She couldn't upset him. She wanted him to be happy.

Neil entered the room and saw Avni packing his stuff. He sighed. He knew that she was trying to control her emotions.

He hugged her from behind.

Neil- Jaan please talk to me.. you didn't even utter a word since morning..
Avni slightly pushed him to come out of his grip and continued her work.

Avni- Neil don't.. don't disturb me.. I..I have to pack your bag.. prepare dinner.. clean the room
Neil- Avni.. and turns her so that she faces him.

Neil- ab Apne aansoo (tears) Ko mujhse chupaogi..?

That's it.

Avni hugs him tightly and cried.
Avni- please don't go.. please.. I don't want to lose you.. please..

Neil caressed her hairs.
Neil- sshh.. calm down.. if you will cry then how will I go.. ok fine I will not go.. now please stop crying..

Avni breaks the hug and wipes her tears. She felt guilty.
Avni- sorry.. I shouldn't have said that.. I just got carried away.. you should go.. country comes first..

Neil hugs her.
Neil- I will be back soon Jaan..
Avni didn't knew what to say. She just hummed in response. She had a weird feeling that something bad is going to happen..

Next day

Neil came down with his bag. He hugged avni. He didn't wanted to go but he couldn't do anything.

Avni- take care..
Neil- you too..
Avni nods.

Neil saw the sadness in her eyes. He decided to lighten up her mood.

Neil- vese find a nice boy if I don't return back.. he said jokingly.
Avni clamped her hand on his mouth.
Avni- shut up! Dare you say that.. you have to return to me.. if something happens to you.. I won't be able to survive.

Neil wiped her tears and held his ears.
Neil- sorry.. bad joke..
Avni- apology accepted. And smiles a bit.

Neil held her hand in his.
Neil- vese Avni.. I want you to make me a promise..
Avni- promise?
Neil- yes.. promise me if I don't return back you will not take any wrong steps.. I want my Avni to make her own identity.. I don't want anyone to recognise you as Neil Khanna's wife.. but as Avni.. promise me..
Avni- I promise you Neil..

Neil left with much difficulty. This wasn't his first mission after their marriage. But this time it was too difficult to leave don't know why.

Flashback ends

Avni- please Neil come back to me.. please.. and cries bitterly. I can't live without you.. every moment without you is so painful.. you promised me that you will never leave me alone.. then how can you break your promise.. please Neil.. come back to me..

She walked out of the parking area while crying. She walked down the road. It was raining heavily. She was completely drenched and was in a really bad state.

Her eyes turned red due to crying. All the moments she spent with neil flashed in front of her eyes.

She felt on her knees and screamed

Neil!!
