Neil's Pov- 

'Rohan, can we talk ? please...! It's me Neil!'  I sent the text message and sighed loudly. As Rohan blocked my last number ,I had to use the new one to send this message .I hope he reply's me. I just hope he does. 

Today, after ages I had such a wonderful day and its because of Avni. From morning to evening we had spent alot of time with each other .We talked and laughed. Her smile which probably I've seen after long time was damn contagious. I wanted to make her smile like this ..all the time.But deep down I knew it's impossible. May be Avni  had forgiven me about my deeds but I knew she would never able to forget about what I did with her.  
But Its okay , I will make up to her. I will do whatever to make Avni  happy. I swear! Thinking all this I slept peacefully.

Next day, I was late to the college due to my stupid bike which probably had betrayed me at last minute . I missed half of my first class  and had to sit in the back bench as not to disturb lecture. Soon first period was over , Immediately with out a second late I walked to the avni's bench .

"Hey Avni! Good morning."

I chirped with a bright smile, but Avni didn't reply me. I starred at her and realised she was lost in her own thoughts and starring at the black board blankly. I glanced at the pari even she looked dull I wondered why?.

"Hey, What happened?" I clicked my fingers in front of  her face as I sat next to her.

"Ha...Hey Neil." Avni fumbled with her words and smiled but it didn't reach to her eyes. What happened all of sudden ? Is it because of me?.

"Are you okay?You seem zoned out?" I asked lowly. Her lips pressed into a thin line before she answered me .

"Ya, I'm fine. What will happen to me?". She chuckled and tugged her baby hairs to the back of her ear.

I observed her face ,she seemed sad and upset. Her eyes weren't glowing. What happened all of sudden ? Is she okay? I wanted to ask alot of questions but I refrained myself because I knew she wouldn't answer me but whatever that's bothering her I will make sure to know it .

College was almost about to end and Avni hadn't talked much since the first period. Something really bad happened or else she wouldn't be this much upset. Like literally, she was silent all the time . Didn't ask doubts in class and wasn't cheerful like she used to be. 

Final bell rang, I packed my bag and observed avni doing the same and was all ready to go home.She looked hurry, and I need to know what happened with her before she rushes out.

"Hey, Aren't you staying? I mean library?"  

Avni looked at me and sighed.

"I'm sorry Neil... I can't!  Have some urgent work to do so.." She trailed off .

I Went closer to her and cupped her face .She looked startled as her eyes widened. I immediately drew my hand back and realised what I did. I freaking touched her without her consent, what's happening with me?How can I touch her again without her consent.

"Sorry! " I apologised looking down.

"It's okay! " she mumbled.

I fidgeted my fingers before I questioned her my thoughts.

"Anything is bothering you Avni ? You can Tell me  What happened? You looked upset all day " . I asked softly.

Avni looked away not meeting my eyes .

" Nothing Neil. i'm fine ... it's just..." 

"Tell me Avni, let me help you!" I whispered.

She starred at me for few seconds and answered looking away. "I'm sorry Neil.. its personal , I can't tell you."

I sighed but soon I started smirking.

"Oh personal, I guess it's that time of the month is it ?" I asked mischievously, even though I knew Its not that bothering her but I wanted to light up the tension between us.

"What?" She shrieked loudly. Her eyes widened as her cheeks turned red.

I laughed.

"Seems like that because I heard about weird period mood Swings and being upset is one of them. " I chucked trying to make her smile and it worked. she laughed ,her angelic smile. Damn!

"Neil, how do you know all this girly things ? I  mean most of the boys seem disgusted by periods while you..." she whispered still blushing.

"There's nothing wrong in learning about periods as  its the part of our nature and we should respect that.  I knew about all this when i was with ...." I trailed off remembering ahana . I used to take care of her while she was on it and got to know  a lot of things about girl problems. It is hard to live a girl life and I made more harder for Avni .

" Oh, that's good actually." She grinned.

" Yeah!" I stayed silent .

"Thank you for asking Neil but I can't tell you ." 

"It's okay, I understand !" I lied as I knew I would not stop my search about her being upset anytime soon.

"Then bye !" 

"Bye , by the way where is pari . I need to talk with her for few minutes ." I asked.

"I think she is cafeteria and yeah Neil tell her to meet me at the gate after your talk okay? "I nodded.

" Okay!" With that she left.

I tried my best to get what's in her mind but I guess she didn't want anyone to know about it that's why I thought to ask pari . i'm damn sure she knew about it because today even she seamed sad . Thinking about this, I walked into the cafeteria and spotted pari , I immediately marched to her .

"Pari."

She looked at me and frowned..

 "What are you doing here Neil khanna?" Her eyes narrowed fractionally at me with confusion.

"I need to talk with you." I said curtly.

" But I don't !" she shrugged.

" Its , about Avni.  Pari please !five minutes. " I pleaded. She starred at me for few minutes before she sighed.

" Okay, what you want to talk about ?" She snorted.

" Why avni is upset ? Is that about me?" I asked.

Pari  stayed silent for a second . I observed her, she was clutching her palms into fists so tight that they started turning white. I swallowed hard.

" Why do you care?" She asked with blazing eyes.

"Listen pari, I know  I was a jerk in past but now I've changed . Today Avni ...she looked so sad and zoned out . I Just want to know what's bothering her . Please tell me if anything you know about it because I want to really help her." I Said.

She looked at me and gritted her teeth. "You know what Neil khanna , Avni had enough problems before she landed here but you made it worse. " She said. I bit my lower lip feeling guilty.

"Do you remember what you did Avni With her cafe job and then in your fathers office? " She questioned.

I took a deep breath remembering  every single thing I  did with her .

" I know i did sin. On that time I was blinded with revenge that  I didn't realise what I was doing and i'm extremely guilty for that ." I Said with ragged breath, my heart started pounding.

" Yeah ,you were !"she laughed sarcastically.

I sighed , I came here to know about Avni but Pari she is getting hard to crack. But wait! wait! why Pari is talking about cafe and job instead of my other mistakes.? Is she implying....

"Yes ,genius! whatever you are thinking is true!" Pari smiled tightly, sarcasm was evident in her voice.

" Do you mean Avni.." I trailed off.

" Yes, she needs a job URGENTLY! I won't tell you why but all I know is you will help her finding one because she is stressed like hell and you also saw how disturbed she was in college." She narrowed her eyes at me saying.

" But Avni.. she won't accept anything from me after all the mess i have created ?" I said stunned.

" I don't know how but you will help her as she is in this position because of you . Usually she doesn't need any  help as she is smart but right now avni isn't in her senses there's alot happening in her life and i'ts taking toll on her mental as well as physical health so ..."

From the look and the words of pari i'm sure she isn't lying about avni's situation.Something bad happened with her , really bad.

" You don't worry , I will help Avni. She would be smiling soon. I promise." I assured her.

"Don't tell avni about this conversation , if she knows about this trust me I will personally kill you." she threatened and left.

I sighed sinking the small information that pari had told to me .Now i know why avni is disturbed and I  won't hesitate to help her but something is bothering me.  what's happening in her life ? why is she so stressed about the money and job? Does she need money for her family? Or something else? So many unanswered questions but soon I will find answers for them.
