Avni's Pov -

"Avni, are you sure you want to give Neil a chance? " Pari asks looking at me. I starred back at her and sighed. Currently, it's 9o'clock and I'm waiting for rohan to pick me up to hospital.

"I'm sure, I can't see him like that. He's so broken behind the bad guy mask " I said.

"I will support you in your every decision. " Pari smile's hugging me.

After few minutes We broke the hug when we heard our flat door ringing.

"I will open the door, maybe rohan. " Pari says walking towards the door.

I nodded and watched Rohan entering inside with a smile. His face still looked tired ,I hope he had a good sleep.

"Thank you for giving him a chance.  " he hugs me tightly saying.

"I'm just giving him a chance to rectify his mistake.I may not be able to forgive him. I'm sorry. " I mumbled and broke the hug.

"You are giving him a chance that's a big thing. You are so kind avni. " he smiles.

"So, let's go " I chirp.

He nods.

Later after bidding bye to Pari we started driving to the hospital where Neil has been admitted. I starred outside of the window feeling nervous. Don't know why I'm scared to meet Neil. What would be his reaction when he sees me?

"Nervous? " Rohan asked concentrating on drive.

"Ya, scared. " I smiled nervously.

"Why scared? Neil won't eat you when you meet him moreover he's attached to so many machines So he won't  attack you. " he says.

My heart pained hearing that. He took such a wrost decision. He choose death over life? He is so week and sensitive. I realised.

After thirty minutes we reached our destination. Rohan led me inside of hospital, and immediately medicine smell hit me. We walked towards the ward where Neil was in.

"Can we visit him? " Rohan asked the incharge nurse of Neil's room.

"Only For 15 minutes and yes only one should visit. " Nurse said irritated. I understood she must be having bad day or maybe long shifts.

"So, you have 15 minutes.  " Rohan says.

"Pray for me. " I chuckled.

"As I said ,he won't eat you. In case if he does then you can scream my name. " he laughs and then winks.

"Shut up." I mouthed and started walking towards Neil's room.

I was nervous to see him which made me walk slowly to his room. My hands turned cold and started sweating. It always happened whenever I felt anxious.

"Calm down. It's okay. " I calmed myself.

With a deep sigh, I opened the door and stepped inside the room. Neil was sleeping on the hospital bed  in hospital dress.

Slowly, I tip toed towards his bed. He layed there attached with saline drip to his left hand. His face was pale and his lips were dry and chapped. He almost looked like a corpse.

I sat beside his bed. I don't know when ,but my eyes turned moist. My heart broke watching him. He was attached to so many machine's monitoring his body activities.

A loud sob left my mouth before I could stop. I closed my mouth with my palms.  I hope he doesn't wake up.

I sighed and huge relief but that was shortlived as he woke up.

Author's Pov -

Neil's eyes flickered as soon as bright light hit his orbs.  he closed his orbs for few second's before he opened them again.

Soon his gaze fell on avni who sat beside him with a shocked face.

Neil's eyes widened slightly before his expression turned neutral.

"Oh shit, Not you again. " Neil huffed and rolled his eyes.

Avni looked at him with a confused face.

"I think drug effect has not gone. As see, I'm still hallucinating you. " he says sadly looking at her.

"He thinks ,I'm not real. I'm his imagination? " Avni sighs internally.

Neil tightly closes his eyes for a second and then opens them hoping his imagination would go away.

"Hey? aren't you gone? You are still here? Omg. " Neil gasps with widen eyes.

Avni smiles softly watching Neil's shocked expression.

"You are smiling too. Am I in heaven? Did I die - " But his further words get cuts off by avni.

"Don't you dare to think about death. " Avni said sternly closing his mouth with her palm.

"You aren't hallucinating me, I'm real Neil." she says pulling her hand back.

Neil was stunned and confused. He was starring at her like she has grown two heads.

"Why are you gawking at me like that? " Avni chuckles.

"Are you real? "  Neil asks innocently.

Avni nodes.

"Pinch me please. " he says in a childish manner.

"I'm real. Bad boy. " Avni pulled his cheeks softly and grinned. She wanted to make Neil feel good. As his condition is wrost avni didn't wanted to cry in front of him as she knows that would make him feel more bad about himself.

"Oh my God . You are real. " Neil tried to get up but failed miserably.

"Hey ,sleep. You need rest. " Avni said slightly pushing him back through his shoulders. All this time Neil was starring at her with tearful eyes.

"I thought you are my imagination. I thought you again came to me to remind my nasty deed. I thought you will scold me again for making you go through all the pain. That's what happened in past two weeks. You used to come and after crying, scolding you go away from me. " Neil says crying.

Avni's heart ached hearing him.

"I'm not going to scold you Neil." she whispers with moist eyes.

"Really? You won't yell on me right? I'm done thinking all about my dirty things. I'm done. " he says with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Avni wipes his tears with her thumb and holds his hand.

"Right now Neil was fragile like a baby whom should be taken care of . He turned out to be so sensitive that he started imaging me but I didn't distinguish whether it's because of drugs or depression " Avni thought.

"What are you doing here? " Neil asks possibly coming back to senses. His voice was Barely a whisper.

"Rohan said you did something crazy so I'm here. " she smiles.

"He.. Told you? Why did he say? " Neil questions restless.

"I know everything .. " Avni trails off.

"Don't need to pity me. If you are here for that please go ,because I don't deserve it. I don't deserve anybody's care. " Neil says coldly looking away.

"I'm not here to pity you. " she pauses. "I'm here because I want to give you a second chance. "

"What? " Neil shouts shocked.

"I'm not forgiving you. I just want to give you a chance to repent. " She says.

"Why you want to give me a chance? Few days before you even don't want  to see my face? " Neil asks.

"True I don't want to see your face but now I think you deserve another chance.  " she shrugs.

"Is it because I've committed suicide? Did someone is forcing you? Tell me?" Neil asks with anger.

"No one is forcing me Neil. Whatever I'm saying is through my heart. I want to give you a chance because even I had fault in this mess. I shouldn't have done that " Avni says.

There was an absolute silence.

"Avni, do you really mean it? You really want to give me a chance? I'm your criminal think again. " Neil whisper's.

"I mean it. "

"I'm unable to believe it. But I will prove myself avni. I promise. You are giving me chance That's enough for me. " he cries.

Avni smiles. "Don't cry bad boy."

"Is that my new name? " Neil chuckles with tears.

"Maybe"

"Your time is over. " Nurse shouts opening Neil's room door.

"What? She just came in? " Neil tried to shout but failed.

"Time is over miss. You have to leave m" Nurse ignores Neil and closes the door.

"She's mean and rude. " Neil huffed. "She was always like this. I think that's the reason she makes me eat worst food. " he acts like gagging.

Avni giggles.

"So ,you want homemade food? "

"Yeah, but who will make for me? My mom's and my maid's food is worst than this hospital food. " he fake cries.

Avni laughs loudly.

"Omg , that's funny. " she again laughs.

Neil admires Avni's smile. It's been ages he has seen her like this. He's still I'm wonder how they were talking like normal friends instead there is havoc in their heart.

"Don't worry I will bring something healthy for you. " she says after calming herself.

"will you come tomorrow? " Neil asks excitedly.

"Yes.. " she replies.

"Really? , but college?" he questions.

"Bunk.  "  she shrugs.

"Wow, topper Mehta is going to bunk college ?" Neil teases.

"Haha, by the way How are you feeling? " She asks.

"Yeah, last question to ask right? " Neil laughs.

"I forgot okay. " Avni crosses her hands to chest pouting.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine just paining wherever they punchered my skin with needles. " Neil says with painful expression.

"Take care. I should be going now " Avni gets up from stool.

"Wait ?"  he stops her.

"What? "

"What's the time you will show up tomorrow? " he questions.

"Why? " she frowns.

"Tell me or else I'd be sleeping moreover I can't afford to lose homemade food. " He smiles.
