Riya : didu what happened come on sit inside'

avni came out of her thought and sat inside.

Later on In avni room

Avni was sitting on her bed and was just staring into space her mind was not ready to accept that she saw him after three years and wished that she had ran away when her six sense had told her to because now she was feeling uneasy knowing that she is going to see him at the party again  she still cant forget that cold look knowing well that he hates her but it's the same from her side too as she cant forget and forgive him for what he has done

She also noticed he has changed completely and doesn't look how he use to look before.

Flashback

Three years ago in New York

Juhi (avni friend): juhi was avni school friend and they both went to New York uni together

Avni: juhi come on we r getting late for lectures how long r u going to take in the bathroom

Juhi: two minutes avni I will be out soon

Avni: k'....avni started to arrange her books in her bag... till then juhi came out who was getting ready

Juhi: avni is it necessary to go to lecture' you know that princi is so boring and there are no hot guys in that class she said applying her lip gloss while avni gave her an annoying look

Avni: juhi u go to lectures to study not to see if there is any hot guys and if u fail in this test  how r u going to get into second year and on top of that uncle will kill u

Juhi: arien how can I fail when I have my smarty avni with me' avni shook her head and both  girls smiled and left to go to go uni

they both were staying at a rented house as they didn't want to stay on campus

Once entering the university they were walking towards their lecture until juhi saw some hot guy with his group of friends

Juhi: wow he is hot' avni looked at juhi and then at the guy and shook her head

Avni: come on juhi she said dragging her who was still staring at the guy.

Both were sitting in lecture hall...avni was busy in taking notes while juhi was just staring in to space thinking about the guy...finally the lecture was over and they were heading out when juhi bumped into that guy again who was with his friends

Juhi: oh im sorry... juhi said with dreamy eyes. That guy smirked

Guy: its k beautiful' avni didn't like the way juhi was behaving hence dragged her away' one of the guys friend said

Friend 1: yaar neil ur so lucky every girl dies to be with u' (yep im sure u all knew it was none other neil)

Neil: i know... now chalo guys lets go he said smirking

Meanwhile at the canteen

Avni: juhi cant u just stick to one guy for the rest of ur life' I am sick and tired ...u always have new guys around u every week

Juhi: oh come on avni I cant help it I mean whoever I go out with turn out to be the wrong guy now its not my fault if I cant find my Mr perfect she said with a puppy face

Avni: then don't go out with anyone until u think he is Mr right

Juhi: omg im so lucky

Avni: what? Juhi here we r talking about something  and u r bringing another topic up

Juhi: avni yaar im seeing him for the third time today hayee god is so great

Avni: he is in the second year juhi he is our senior

Juhi: what?  really?.. how comes I didn't see him before?

Avni: because u r always flying with one boy to another

Juhi: avni yaar he is so damn hot

Avni: ergh u know what im going home see u later and avni headed of but one of neils friend vidyut  blocked her

Vidyut : hey pretty girl ' neil and his friend were looking at avni and vidyut

Avni: get lost she said annoyingly and moved away' they all looked at avni walking away and laughed

Vidyut: hey neil look that girl seems like she is trying to get ur attention they said looking at juhi' neil smirked and walked towards juhi and sat next to her while juhi was getting even more happy

Juhi: hi again

Neil: hi

Juhi: im juhi she said forwarding her hand

Neil: im neil  he said taking juhi hand and kissing it giving his sexy smile which can make any girl faint while juhi was feeling like she was in heaven

Avni who came back to get juhi saw what was happening she quickly went over to juhi

Avni: juhi come lets go she said tapping on juhi shoulder bringing her back to reality

Juhi: oh avni. Erm meet him this is Neil

Avni: juhi im not interested to know who he is now come on lets go she said ignoring neil and walked away with juhi

After the girl left his friends came towards him

Vidyut: yaar neil I thought all girl go crazy for u but look at this girl she has no interest in u

Neil: she  is something different to other girls

Abhi: avni, avni wake up it 5pm.

avni got startled hearing abhi  and didn't realise when she fell asleep.. she was lost in her thoughts thinking about her past

abhi: avu u k?' u seemed worried since morning he said caressing avni hair brining her back to reality

avni: yea abhi bhai im fine she said smiling' abhi knew she was hiding something but didn't dig into it

abhi: ok come on get ready the party will start soon and also guest will start coming

avni: yeah...

After 20 minutes avni came out wearing her dress  and applied less make up  and straightened her hair leaving it down

It was 5:40 and avni was ready on time and headed downstairs to see that everything was almost done after checking everything she went to her parents room and saw them arguing

Ashish: neela im telling u this necklace doesn't suit ur saree

Neela: ashish this necklace is lovely and see it does go with the saree

Ashish: neela listen to me see this one is the best its goes well matching with ur saree and bangles

Neela: ashish

Ashish: in fact u change the saree and wear another one

Neela:  ashish its riyas birthday she is the one who has to look good now please don't annoy me

Ashish: neela look don't argue and wear this one it looks so good on u' neela was about to reply back when they heard someone laughing and saw it was avni

Neela: avni y r u laughing

Avni: maa papa how long have u been arguing about this necklace 

Neela: since ages ok u tell me which is better this one or the one ur dad is saying

Avni: erm this one she said pointing to the one that neela has..ashish pouted

Neela: see I told u.  now come lets go down the guest would have started to come she said putting on her jewel on the spot and all three headed down they were near the stairs when ashish stopped

Avni: what happened papa

Ashish: beta I just left my phone in the room I will go and get it u lot go down

Avni: papa u and maa go I will go and get it

Ashish: thanks beta...come lets go  he said to neela...once they reached downstairs they saw that Dayawanti was welcoming the first guest which was Prakash family

Dayawanti: please come in

Prakash: thanks dayawanti ma'. wow ashish nothing has changed in this house its still the same he said sitting on the couch'

avni came down unaware of the first guest when she was on the last steps she started to walk slowly seeing who was in front of them' for a second there was a brief eye contact between avneil and then it was neil who broke it' she calmed herself down and went towards ashish and gave him his mobile

Ashish: thank u beta' arien haan prakash yesterday u met abhi  at the temple but not avni '...avni took prakash  blessing

Prakash: ashish, our parents were friends...then we became friends and now our kids he said looking at mitali and avni

Shweta: beta mitali told me u joined the second year of uni a bit late over here

Avni: haan aunty woh I actually was missing everyone so thought of continuing my studies in india' but from the corner of her eyes she could feel neil giving her a pity look

Shweta:ohh

Avni erm I will go and help abhi bhai attend the guest all nodded and she quickly went to abhi
and started attending the guest

Dayawanti: neela is riya  ready

Neela: I will just go and check on her... after a while neela came back but she went directly to avni and whispered something in her ears and headed back to where everyone was sitting

Avni: abhi bhai I will be back' abhi nodded

Dayawanti: neela what happened where did avni go

Neela: maa wo riya told me to call avni as she need some help and I told avni to bring riya asap'. Daya nodded

After a while riya and avni were walking down the stairs and soon reached near to the elders to take blessing' all the guest were coming near riya to wish her and giving her the birthday gifts after a while she went on the stage while the elders went to the lawn and left the youngster to enjoy the party

Riya: thank you all for the birthday wishes and the gifts and also thank u to take some time out from your schedule  to attend the party...so since its my birthday lets so something fun' the first thing we are going to do is give all the girls and boys a chit which will have a numbers and who ever has the same numbers have to dance with each other k, .  .all agreed

one of the servants bought two bowls of chit one for girls and the other for boy and riya was distributing to the girls while abhi bhai was giving it to the boys' riya saw avni leave and she knew her sister was trying to get away from the dance

Riya: didu where r u going

Avni: rii I seriously don't want to play u lot continue

Mithali: oh come on avni its riya birthday don't let her down

Riya: exactly now come on pick a chit' avni knew she cant get away so she took out a chit and riya gave her a wide smile.

After a while everyone had a piece of paper in their hands

Riya: k im going to say the numbers and whoever has that numbers need to come forward and pair up with their respective partners' riya started to say the numbers and everyone was standing next to their respective partners' okay number 6

Ali: that is me

Riya: wow ali u r lucky to dance with the birthday girl' while ali smiled and went and stood next to riya

Ali: pleasure is mine

Riya: number 3' avni looked at the piece of paper and 3 was written on it

Neil: im number 3 riya' avni was about to screw the note when mithali saw the number written on the piece of paper

Mithali: arien that's u avni' avni cursed her luck for a second she felt like strangling mithali' neil went and stood next to avni

Riya: k finally number 1 which we all know that is mithali and abhi as they were the only ones left.

So guys lets go on the dance floor'

all the guys took their respective partners hand for a dance while avneil stood back' avni was about to leave from their when neil pulled her towards the dance floor without looking at her.

He pulled her closer to him but placing his one hands on her waist and holding the other one while avnis  one hand was resting on  his shoulder... all started to dance....avni was looking everywhere else and avoiding neil' while on the other hand he was looking at her without any expressions...after a while he spoke to her

Neil: so MISS Avni metha how r u

Avni: fine she said still avoiding his gaze

Neil: oh... how stupid of me to ask this question of course u would be FINE since u ONLY care about Yourself' and this time avni looked at him angrily

Avni: What is your problem

neil ignored that question and still looked at her with cold eyes

Neil: Miss avni how comes you decided to continue ur studies in india as far as I Know U use to study in New York right'I mean  I know u wanted to come to New York University  then all of a sudden missing family... that's y u came back to India  doesn't seem right? Or is there something u r trying to hide? u have become and expert in lying' he said smirking and then putting back on a cold look' avni was feeling suffocated she wanted to run away from neil.

Avni: it is none of your business' neil pulled her even more closer

Neil: it is Avni...it is and even u know that right he said digging his nail into her waist which was paining her'

Avni: u r hurting me neil.. but neil was in rage... avni somehow pulled away from him but again got pulled by neil

Neil: come on Avni its ur sisters birthday want to upset her by leaving the dance floor

Avni: y r u doing this

Neil: u exactly know y he said gritting his teeth'

Avni: yes i do and its good for you that I'm quiet for now otherwise your family would be ashamed of knowing your deeds she  said irritated

Neil: of course... y would u care since u don't care about anyone's feeling' he said digging his fingers into her waist

avni  felt pain on her waist because of his tight grip and she didn't reply to his last sentence but luckily abhi came to the rescue

Abhi: sorry neil but can I have a dance with my sister' I mean I know I should be dancing with mitali as per as the game rules but I just wanted to dance with avni as I don't know when I will get  a chance again ...neil changes his expression when he heard abhi and gave him a warm smile

Neil: sure abhi no problem'he gave one last look to avni  before leaving the dance floor...

abhi and avni started to dance after twirling avni twice... abhi noticed that avni was in a trance however she was still dancing well

Abhi: what was that all about? Avni came out of her thoughts

Avni: what abhi bhai

Abhi: avni don't try to hide it what is going on between u and neil'. Avni looked at him surprisingly but then gave a fake smile

Avni: nothing abhi bhai there is nothing between me and neil

Abhi: seriously avni im not that stupid I know the difference between ur fake smile and when u smile from ur heart' I can feel the cold vibes between u two' in fact this morning at the temple the way neil spoke to u' avni what r u hiding?

Avni: nothing abhi bhai she said trying to avoid eye contact with him

vijya: avni I know u since we were kids anybody else cant notice it but I can... u have changed since u came back from New York and all of a sudden u had decided to continue ur studies in India and I don't know y but I feel that u and neil knew each other from before'. Otherwise there wouldn't be coldness between u and neil in the first meeting'.

Avni looked at him for a second but then bowed her head down

Abhi: fine if you don't want to say It then don't but remember whenever u want to talk about it I will always be there hmm he said smiling'. Avni looked at her brother thinking how he knew her too well and gave him a smile

soon the party ended and everyone had left

avni was in her room and was standing near the window thinking about what happened at the party

neils word was running in her head' she closed her eyes and a small tear rolled down her cheeks

Flashback

It had been 4 month since juhi and avni had joined uni and juhi had also become friends with neil but however avni always maintained distance

one day avni came out of the library and was going to meet juhi at the canteen but one of her classmate came and told her that juhi is in the medical room'. Avni got so worried that she rushed there to see juhi had plaster  on her feet however she didn't notice the person who was sitting on the chair next to the bed as all her attention was focused on her best friend

Avni: oh god juhi how did this happen? She said sitting on the bed

Juhi; avni woh..  but she couldn't continue as avni interrupted

Avni: u never take care of ur self.. see because of ur carelessness all this happened 

Juhi: avni relax if u ask so many question at the same time how can I answer'. K so to ur first question I was in the canteen and erm u know actually one of my enemy that stupid Kelly dared me to dance and u know if I don't then people will make fun out of me thinking im scared so I agreed and started to dance but while spinning I kind of fell and sprained my feet' and about taking care of myself then I don't need to coz u r there to take care of me.

Avni: juhi tum but got stopped by juhi

Juhi: k stop ur lecture'(she then turned other side where the person was sitting )neil see how she speaks to me even if im hurt she will be still angry with me and avni u should be thankful to neil that he was there and bougt me here otherwise I couldn't even walk properly' while neil smiled and looked at avni who only gave a surprise look to him as she didn't notice he was there.

Avni: erm thanks for helping juhi she said with a small smile

Neil: its k after all juhi is also my friend

Avni: juhi I think we should go home now

Juhi: yh lets go' juhi was about to get up but she felt some pain on her feet' ahhh

Neil: juhi hold on' after juhi found herself in neils arm' avni took the medicine from the nurse and headed out along with neil.

however avni didnt bring her car today since the girls had decided to walk it to uni because of the nice weather so neil had decided to drop the home he kept juhi at the back seat and avni sat at the back along with juhi while neil sat on the driving seat'

Avni told him the address when he asked...after 30 minutes the car stopped at its destination

neil and avni got out and neil opened the door and took juhi in his arms while avni went to open the main door of their house

neil then followed avni too juhis bedroom and placed her on the bed

neil: k so I will leave now take care of ur self juhi,

neil then left the room' avni was thinking for a minute before she decided something

avni: juhi I will be back

juhi: but where r u going

avni: to say thanks to neil and this time properly both smiled and avni rushed out and she was luckily on time as she noticed that neil was about to leave but neil saw her and stepped out of the car while avni walked towards him

neil: any problem?

Avni: erm no actually I wanted to say thanks to u once again for helping juhi otherwise im sure when she fell that Kelly (juhi enemy) would make fun out of her but before she could do that and before another cat fight could happen between them u came to her rescue so thank u so much neil im really thankful to u... juhi means a lot to me and I cant see her hurt ' she said giving him a warm smile and neil could see that

Neil: its k avni no need to say thanks plus juhi is my friend.

Avni: k so erm thanks once again and also for the lift' see u ... avni was about to turn around but neil stopped her

Neil: avni

Avni: hmm she said turning to face him

Neil: friends?' he said forwarding his hands avni looked at him and then his hands and after a while shook it

Avni: friends she said with a smile

Neil: finally even u cant resist me see became my friend so easily he said flirtingly

Avni: oh hello neil.. doesn't mean I became ur friend means I couldn't resist u in fact I became ur friend because u helped my friend and I liked that so stop ur flirting 

Neil: arien wah u know me so well

Avni: but u don't know me neil...now u can go see u at uni bye

Neil: bye' both smiled at each other and neil left

The next day

Avni: juhi im going uni so see u later and make sure u take rest don't try to wonder of and Katie (maid) will give u ur lunch and medicine so eat it without making a fuss understood

Juhi: ok meri maa now go' avni laughed slightly and kissed juhi on her forehead before leaving'

avni parked her car and then headed inside uni

she was walking while looking at the notes and bumped into neil and was about to fall but neil held her on time.. both had a small eye contact but then avni was the one to break it

Avni: now r u planning to stand like this the whole day' neil smirked and made her stand properly

Neil: not bad already started to bump into me so that u get a chance to be in my arms interesting

Avni: very funny

Neil: by the way where is juhi

Avni: she is at home resting as the nurse had told me she needs complete bed rest so yh, k neil im getting late for my lecture so see u later k bye

Neil: bye

after lecture avni was heading to go home when she saw neil ...but along with him was a girl who was clinging on to him but she didn't stop and walked past them' neil had seen avni walking past him

Neil: babes see u later right now I need to go. He said to the girl

girl: bye neil

Neil ran behind avni and caught up with her.

Avni looked surprised when she saw neil walking along with her

neil: avni how comes u didn't stop

Avni: I didn't want to disturb u when u were with that girl neil

Neil: oh come on avni what is there to disturb' and oh god she speaks so loudly ...but thank god I saw u and I was able to get away from her.

Avni: seriously I heard that u never miss a chance of flirting with girls but here u r actually running away from one,

Neil: but the girl needs to be good to flirt with'.
He said smirking avni looked at him and smiled' both had reached outside the university

Avni: k neil I will leave right now.

Neil: come let me drop u home

Avnk: no its k I bought my car today

Neil:okay no worries' in fact tomorrow morning I will meet u and juhi at 8am and both of us can leave from uni there. Avni thought for a while and then agreed.

End of flashback

Avni opened her eyes and wiped her tears' she opened the cupboard and took out a photo frame of which had her hugging juhi from the back

Avni: it is still hard to believe it but I can never forgive him for what he did to u juhi ' i shouldn't have left u alone at the party' he would have been punished but I had no proof against him' I hate u neil...I just hate u . She said trying to assure herself.

The next day.

Avni reached to her office and already found mitali  sitting at her desk

Avni: good morning mitali

Mitali : good morning avni,

Avni: so who is the next customer she said looking at the file mitali  was looking at

Mitali : a lady wants us to interior her office and she told me exactly how she wants it to be so yh for now this is the blue print here look at this

avni sat next to Mitali  and both were discussing about the blue print when avni saw the time it was 1pm

Avni : mitali  its 1pm I need to go to the hospital...avni was about to leave when mitali  stopped her

Mitali : avni how is ur friend? Has there been any improvement

Avni : doctors are saying that she is improving ... u know mitali  she has been in coma for nearly 3 years but I want that day to come when she is perfectly fine just like before

Mitali : I hope she gets better soon'. And even I want to meet this friend of yours ' avni smiled

Avnk: I wouldn't mind taking u to the hospital but remember u told me  that u want to see my friend when she has fully recovered.. Anyways getting late see u later bye

Mitali : bye.

Avni reached to the hospital as she has been coming here most of the time.

The nurse saw avni and smiled at her as she made way to the patient room' avni opened the door to see her friend laying on the bed and staring at the ceiling she went and sat down near the bed. She held her friends hand and started to speak to her

Avni : hey im sorry I know im a little late but got busy with mitali... as usual u know abhi bhai and riya were arguing' lalit uncle called me and he said he will come a little late to see u and u know what its been enough u have been resting here for 3 years but now u have to get better for us, for ur family because we r missing u a lot JUHI'. avni said emotionally she could see that even juhi had a small tear  role from her eyes but poor girl couldn't even wipe her own tears all she can do was hear everyone talking to her...avni continued to speak

Avni: I have also something else to tell u on the day of riya  birthday I saw neil...his dad and my dad were friends and also he is mitali brother... I don't even think he regrets what he did to u' avni looked at juhi and saw that she was looking all calm she continues to speak...  k juhi im going to go.. she kissed her forehead and left the place heading home.

Once she reached home she got the shocking news' neela called her in the hall where only dadi was seated as the others were not home yet

Neela: avni beta we have something to say to u

Avni : ji maa

Dayawanti : beta the thing is prakash  and shweta came here with a proposal

Avni : what type of proposal dadi

Dayawanti : beta when shweta saw u for the first time she instantly liked u and thinks u r the best for neil...avni  was getting a little nervous

Avni: dadi r u trying to say that' she left her sentence hanging

Dayawanti : yes beta shweta asked for ur hand for her son neil' DO U ACCEPT THIS PROPSAL AND AGREE TO MARRY NEIL? asked dayawanti  but avni just looked on and without saying anything went to her room only dayawanti  last word echoed in her ear (the one in caps)
