Avni looked at Shweta then at Neil who blinked his eyes and smiled she took a bit of colour and applied it on his cheeks

Bebe: oh madam madonna what r u doing over here with the youngsters

Shweta: Bebe I was... just but she couldn't complete as Bebe intturpted

Bebe: Haan u must of thought staying with the youngster would also make u look young right

Shweta: come on Bebe I am young

All the elders were sitting. Avni saw akash and Ali walking towards her with colour in their hand.

Ali; now where will u go.

Avni: loook stay away from me.

Akash: never it's our ritual to apply holi on u. Last year I missed the chance but this year I won't.

Avni:this is seriously not fair Haan she said walking backwards while akash and Ali were walking forward

Avni quickly took the opportunity and turned around running. akash and Ali also started running behind her. Avni tried to get away from them and was even successfull. She ran to the other direction and saw Neil who was busy on the phone and went behind him. He cut the call

Neil: Avni what r u doing

Avni: u need to save me from ali and akash

Neil: what?

Avni: please Neil

Neil: but y r they after u ?

Avni: can u stop your policegiri for now. Always asking too many questions

Neil: oh hello when have I asked too many question ?

Akash and Ali took this as an oppurtubity and threw colour on Avni.

Avni closed her eyes and then opened it to give deathly glares at Ali and akash who high five each other and then lastly looked at Neil

Neil: what y r u giving me these type of looks

Avni: acp Neil khanna u r gone she said and looked around to find a plate full of colour she picked up the whole plate and looked at Neil

Neil: r u mad. Ali and akash threw the colour on u so go after them

Avni: don't worry about that i won't spare them but first let me get u

Neil: oh miss ajooba how am I at fault ?

Avni: if u hadn't started your questioning then akash and Ali wouldn't have been able to throw colour on me.

Neil: look

Avni: say whatever u want that won't stop me anymore she said running behind Neil who started running away.

The whole khanna and metha saw this and were laughing

Neela took this as an opportunity and took few clicks of Avni and Neil

Avni was close to Neil and took that as an opportunity to throw the colour but at that moment Neil bent down and Dd who came was all covered in blue colour.

Avni looked at neil and then at Dd in a shock way

Dd: I didn't know this is how we say happy holi

Avni: Dd I'm so sorry I was going to throw the colour on Neil but he bent down and U came and before that it was too late and u got .... she trailed off

Neil: it's not that easy to get me Miss ajooba he said with a smirk

Avni: don't think u have won there are more colours I won't spare u that easily.

She said going away

Dd: happy holi sir

Neil:happy holi to u too

Ali: who did this to Dd

Dd: Avni bhabi noodle bhaiya.

Neil looked at Dd when he called Avni bhabi and was about to speak when all of a sudden he felt colour pouring from his head.

He turned around to look at avni who had a victory smile

Avni: bura na mano holi hain. She said with a smirk

Neil: now u r definitely gone he said taking the plate from Ali hand and moved toward her
Avni slowly moved back and turned to run

She quickly took a bucket of water

Avni: if u throw colour on me then I will throw water on u

Neil: r u trying to challenge me

Avni: Shweta aunty carefully she said looking behind Neil

Neil turned around and didn't find Shweta and realised Avni fooled him he turned back to Avni and saw her run away.

Avni hid behind a pillar she was panting due to all the running she looked back to see others sitting far away and anyone finding her would be impossible she closed her eyes to get her breathing back to normal.

Neil: tired?

Avni eyes shot open seen Neil in front of her smirking.

Neil: how r u going to try and escape now miss ajooba?

Avji didn't answer and tried to make an exit but Neil blocked her way by placing his hand on the pillar And before she tried to make another exit he threw the colour on her.

Neil: bura na mano holi hain miss ajooba he said pinching her cheeks slightly

Avni looked at Neil smirking and she glared at him while he was having this naughty look in his eyes

She started wiping the colour of her so that not much colour is on her

Neil: now we r even....come he said holding her hands and taking her where the others were

Ali was drinking something from a glass and started to dance on baby ko base pasand hain (imagine how he started the dance in the show)
Riya soon joined him along with Kia akash and Neil soon to be followed by Aman and Kareena. Shweta and Neil stood together doing the step( again just like in the show) some servants came and started giving bhang to all
Of them. Shweta took a sip and then put it away while Neil , Riya akash and Kiya were enjoying the bhang as they thought it was some normal drink they were drinking while dancing while this was the second round for Ali

Neela gestured Avni to dance but she shook her head.

Avni was about to move away when the music changed Riya came and dragged Avni to dance and threw the colour in the air..

Avni smiled and was about to turn when she bumped into Neil she looked at him and was about to move when He blocked her way and this continued few times she raised her eyebrows when Neil started to sing

Kudi patang si lad gayi

Avni looked confusingly at Neil she turned the other way when Neil held her wrist pulling her toward him she looked at him finding his behaviour odd thanks to the bhang that started to do its work

Aise khenche dil ke penche
Gale hi pad gayi oye (he placed her hands Around his neck)

Avni moved her hands from his neck and moved away from him

Kia came towards Avni and twirled her around. Even the methas and khanna saw the youngsters

Shweta : there was bhang in that drink that's y I took a sip she said. All looked at her and then back at the kids smiling away

Bebe in her head: due to the bhang at least we got to see our old tillu

The Dj changed the song and played hori Khele raguveera (bhagbhan) Kia akash and Ali went to the elders pulling them up to dance where Neil and Riya were

Avni: Riya what's wrong what did u all have ?

Riya: drink she said spinning around

Avni: did all them have bhang. Oh no if they had bhang and say something in this state then it will be a problem. She said to herself

She looked for Aman and Kareena and found them eating pakora and went to them

Avni: did all of them have bhang

Kareena: I think so one of the workers where offering drinks and all of them had it except us

Avni: no wonder y they r behaving like this

Aman: y r u worried di

Avni: Aman if any of them reveal our plan then it may be a problem we need to make sure that they don't say anything to the elders

Kareena: we didn't even think about that. All r dancing together she said looking at everyone and Avni and aman followed where she was looking

Aman: where is Neil bhai going.

Avni looked at aman and then tried to locate Neil who was walking inside the khanna mansion drinking some more bhang

Avni: u handle everyone outside I will check on Neil

Aman and Kareena nodded and went to the other dancing along with them but also keeping an eye on Dd Ali Riya akash and Kia

Avni entered inside to see no sign of Neil

Avni: where did this super cop tillu disappear she said looking Around when she heard Neil voice or more like singing.

Neil was walking to his room he was unable to walk straight

He was twirling around and stumbled and Avni saw him.

She was about to call out to him when she saw him enter in a room she quickly followed and stood outside the room to realise it was the store room

Avni: Neil she said coming inside trying to locate him

Neil: hands up.

Avni jumped when she felt Neil voice from the back she turned around to see him pointing his fingers at her pretending as if he is holding a gun

Neil: hands up. He said trying. To be serious

Avni: Neil what is wrong with u.

Neil : chup u came here to steal na I will arrest u

Neil: shhh he said placing his fingers on his lips and was about to lose his balance but Avni held him to keep his balance

Avni: who told u to drink so much bhang

Neil: bhang me naaaaa I'm a police officer and a police officer never drinks bhang when on duty he said. Avni rolled her eyes

Neil: too look for something he said moving away from Avni looking at the things in the store room

Avni: pass me the keys come on she said moving towards Neil but he moved the other way

Neil: no he said throwing the cloth in the air

Avni in her head: I need to make The bhang effect go away or at least try and make him to sleep.

Neil: u r very mean ?

Avni: what?

Neil: no what ...say y ?

Avni smiled a little seen Neil antiques

Neil: because I'm sitting here and u r not even talking to me he said pouting

Avni in her head: to get the keys from Neil I will have to put up with this behaviour.

Avni sat next to Neil.

Avni: no it's nothing like that u were looking for something but I didn't want to disturb u.

Neil: wow u r so smart he said turning to look at her.

Avni found it odd the way Neil was looking at her she soon saw him frowning and lift his hands up she was about to move her face back when Neil spoke

Neil: shh stay still. And started to move his hand towards her face again while avni was looking at him He picked something up from her cheeks and lifted her hand placing a eye lash
Avni looked at it then at him

Neil: make a wish and blow.
Avni looked at him for few secs and he gestured her to go ahead

She didn't know y but she closed her eyes and made a wish which she always does and that is her families happiness

She opened her eyes and saw a big smile on Neil face

Neil: good girl.

Avni: I'm a good girl come on give me the keys

Neil: nope

Avni: Neil she sighed

Neil: shall I tell u a story.

Avni: first promise that after this story u will give me the keys and do as I say

Neil: promise.

Avni: tell me your story then

Neil: ok so here I start but listen Haan he said scolding her in a cute way

Avni: hmmm

Neil: ok so there was this boy and a girl. Both studied in a big college. One day that guy saw the girl and got lost in her. But he never had the strength to go and tell that he likes her. Few months later they met for a college event and both started talking... u r listening right?

Avni: Haan Neil Continue she said looking around to see any other exit

Neil: no look at me when I'm talking then I will know u r actually listening

Avni closed her eye

Avni: ok continue she said now facing him

Neil: where was I oh yh they met at a college even and started talking and soon became friends. One day that guy proposes the girl and she accepts his proposal both loved each other a lot. After a year or so they were going out on a coffee date the guy was waiting for to come he was waiting for her in the car. She was crossing the road when a car came speeding up and... and it hit her. The guy took her to the hospital and was told she is no more her face was completely ruined that nobody could recognise her. All he saw was the bracelet on her wrist which he had gifted her.

Avni was looking at Neil she saw tears in his eyes which got her wondering. Neil looked at avni

Neil: do u know who that boy was

Avni: no she whispered

Neil: that boy was me and that girl was my Juhi he said letting the tears finally flow. It took some time for Avni to process Neil story. She felt him rest his head against her shoulder

Avni remembered how she and Neil were dancing at their engagement and she asked him if he has ever been in love (chap 33)
Flashback

Avni: Neil ?

Neil: hmm... both were now looking at each other

Avni : have u ever been in love.

Neil stopped dancing while avni saw his expression change

Avni: I'm sorry u don't have to talk about it

Neil: yes I have been in love.
End of flashback

Avni now realised why neil expression had changed

Avni: u still love her?

Neil: hmm. I still have her memories over here he said pointing to his heart

Avni: and she will always be there

Neil: Pakka?

Avni frowned

Avni: what do u mean

Avni was pondering over Neil words when she felt him poke her shoulder.

Neil: for listening to me. Avni smiled looking at Neil however she got to see a different side of Neil and also didn't know he would have had something happen like this in his life

Avni: can I have the keys now

Neil: can I have that drink again (bhang)

Avni: Nooo

Neil: please it was very tasty he said licking his lips.
Avni got an idea

Avni: ok fine but u have to listen to me first as u promised

Neil: ok

Avni: now give me the keys

Neil nodded and gave her the keys
Avni opened the door and turned around to see him still sitting

Avni: come

Neil: nope

Avni: u want that drink right

Neil: yes but help me. Avni rolled her eyes and went towards Neil and helped him get up she was about to walk forward when she felt Neil wrap his hands around her arms

Avni: what happened now

Neil: what if I get lost then it will be hard for u to find me stupid.

Avni didn't know if she should laugh or get angry with Neil behaviour

Avni: u do remember where your room is right

Neil: let me remember he said moving his hands from her arm and tapped his head with his finger

Avni: Neil she said a bit loudly

Neil: stop shouting otherwise I won't remember where my room is.

Avni face palmed herself

Neil: yay Now I remember come he said grabbing her hands and walked out of the store room.

Avni had to hold his arms to make him walk straight as he kept banging into her

Finally Neil reached to his room and came inside

Neil: now can I have my drink

Avni: yes I just told someone to get it. Now come on lie down on the bed

Neil: no

Avn: Neil please u want that drink right

Neil nodded

Avni: then like a good boy come on

Neil nodded and was about to walk towards his bed when he stumbled Avni quickly reached to him

Neil gave a cheeky smile and Avni took his hand placing it around her shoulder while she held him by the waist and took him to the bed. She made him lie down and was about to get up but Neil held her hand and pulled her that she landed so close to him both their face was near. Avni looked at Neil who was smiling if anyone saw them in that position then it would look like they r about to kiss.
