Neil was working in his cabin fully engrossed with the file.... his phone was silent... his uniform two shirt button was open from the top... he was chewing pencil while reading the file...

He didn't realise when the time was passing...dd walked into Neil's cabin and saw engrossed with the file... dd called Neil's name..

Dd : Neil sir...

Neil stopped eat the pencil and looked up and saw dd...

Neil : yes dd!

Dd : sir it's midnight now.. Bhabhi must be waiting for you... she called you but I think your phone was on silent... she called me and told you to inform that she is still in hospital... Bhabhi also said to pick her up Before going home....

Neil checked his phone and saw 5 miscalled from avni... Neil sighed and looked at dd...

Neil : sorry dd... I will pick avni up... you should also go home.. it's too night... should I drop you...

Dd : no sir... I will manage...

Neil nods...

Neil : okay... take care and go safely home... good night...

Dd: goodnight sir....

Dd left the cabin... Neil closed the file and saw the time on the clock...

Neil : I am so late today... thank god avni is working too till late or unless I had to bear Avni's scolding....

Neil got off his chair and packed his stuff... he shoved his phone in pocket and took file... he wore his officer cap... he walked out the his cabin and walked out of the police station...

He opened his car and kept file on passenger seat the settled himself on driver seat... he tied seatbelt and took of his cap.. he kept on passenger seat too...

He held the steering wheel and started the car....

He stopped car front of hospital... he took his phone out and dialled Avni's number...

Ring.... ring... ring.... ring went... but no answer... he kept his phone back and opened his side door.. he got out and walked inside the hospital... hospital was silent now Neil went to straight to receptionist....

Neil cleared his throat gaining receptionist attention...

Receptionist: sir you here... this night..

Neil : dr khanna!

Receptionist: oh sorry... I didn't realise dr khanna is still working... sorry sir... right now dr khanna is with one of her patient... she will be finishing soon...

Neil : no worries... I will wait for her...

Receptionist nods while Neil moved back to his car... he sat on his car with music turned on.... he closed his eye and leaned back to his seat...

While inside the hospital avni came with her bag and coat in one hand... she walked to receptionist...

Avni called the receptionist.... receptionist looked at avni and smiled...

Receptionist: yes ma'am...

Avni : tomorrow morning there is operation at 8am... I want all preparations down for it... I will be in hospital around 7:30 am... and please inform others staff too come early who will be working with me... is that clear...

Receptionist: yes ma'am, I will make sure everyone is here and everything is ready for the operation....

Avni nods and turned back to leave when receptionist called her back... avni turned back and looked at her...

Receptionist: ma'am sir is waiting for you!

Avni got confused hearing sir... she looked at her confusingly...

Avni : sir...

Receptionist: sorry ma'am... I mean Neil sir is  waiting for you in car parking....

Avni : Neil.... when did he come?

Receptionist: hour ago!

Avni nods...

Avni : I will leave then... take care... Bye..

Receptionist: bye ma'am...

Avni left the hospital and came to car parking... she saw Neil car parked front the hospital... she walked to the car and knocked the window of Neil's side... Neil wasn't sleep but had his eyes closed.... hearing the knock he opened his eye and looked at window and saw avni standing with smile...

He immediately straightened himself and rolled the window down....

Neil : finish your shift...

Avni : yeah.... why did you come?

Neil : you called dd remember....

Avni thought then it clicked to her mind... she nods and walked to her side and sat in the car...

Avni : oh sorry... keeping you wait.. I was busy with patient that I didn't realise and it slipped from my mind...

Neil : it's fine... I wasn't waiting too long... shall we leave...

Avni nods.. Neil starts driving to khanna house while avni was resting her head on his shoulder and holding his hand in hers.... music was playing at the background.....

They were middle of road... avni was looked outside of  window when she saw ice cream parlour....

Avni : Neil....

Neil looked at her while focusing on driving...

Neil :hmm...

Avni :   Ice cream...,

Neil : Ice cream.... now... avni you will get ill if you have ice cream at midnight....

Avni: please.... Neil...

Neil : avni no means no... you won't have ice cream... that's all...

Avni : please....

Neil : no...

Avni made grumpy face and moved from away from his shoulder.... she crossed her arms and brought close to her chest....

Avni : I'm angry with you....

Neil stopped the car at shop and turned at avni....

Avni : why you stopped The car?

Neil : madam stop showing me those angry glares and look out...

Avni looked out and saw the restaurant... she looked back at Neil who was smiling....

Avni : restaurant...

Neil : yes... I know you didn't had your diner yet so why not dinner first then ice cream... hmm...

Avni got excited hearing the play... she immediately wrapped her hands around his neck... she then kissed his cheek making him smile...

Avni : thank you so much....

Neil : come let's go...

They both came out and went inside.. they took seat on empty table.... Neil ordered the food....

After having food Neil ordered ice cream for avni... Avni was eating her ice cream while Neil was admiring her....

Soon Neil paid the money and left the restaurant.... they were driving back to home... avni slept in car resting her head on Neil's shoulder....

Neil stopped the car front of khanna house... he got out from his side then opened Avni's side... he picked avni up in his arms... he carried her to their room...

He made her lay down... he pecked her forehead and went to get change.... he came back and slipped under the duvet... he pulled Avni in his arms... he whispered I love you while keeping his head in her neck....

Sorry for not updating yesterday... I got busy playing cricket plus my dad didn't allow me get inside the house... I was in garden with them playing to which I couldn't write...
