Ok people, finally had the inclination to pen a new chapter...hope it's not too shabby. Please do comment if you enjoy it! 

Neil was sitting in his office at the police station doing some paperwork for his case. It was around 3 in the afternoon and he had a truck load of paperwork to get through. This was the aspect of his job that he really did not enjoy but actually was very under rated because all the hard work of their cases would go to vain if they did not document the details properly. And neil prided himself on being good at the paperwork and he was much better these days thanks to Avni's habits rubbing off on him. He was also a lot more meticulous just like her. And just like that he smiled in the midst of his work as he thought about her. Even the slightest thought or mention of her was enough to make him smile. And on the rough days when he was frustrated he would take a look at the notes in the jar she had gifted him for his promotion. On the days he needed to go out for work and he was anticipating it to be long and difficult day he would even carry a few notes with him in his pocket so that he could look at her messages and feel better. Every time he looked at that jar he blushed as he recalled all the wonderful things she had said about him. He had read every note multiple times over now but the novelty never wore off! He tried to shake himself out of the avni reverie and get back to work when he heard the shrill ring of his phone flashing the name of the very person who was occupying his thoughts. He picked it up and was about to speak when he heard her breathless voice on the other end- Neil, kahaan ho? Station pe ho ya bahaar? She asked him without any preamble

Neil- laughed- avni, chill. Pahle zara HI, hello toh bolo phir baat karo na

Avni- huffed in annoyance- hi neil, hello...ab bologe kahaan pe ho? Station pe ya bahaar?

Neil- station pe hu, lekin kya hua?

Avni- ok good. she had exclaimed and hung up before neil could say anything further

Neil stared at the phone puzzled- iss ladki ka mujhe kuch samajh main nahi aata! Pata nahi kya sujhta hai isko. Aise kaun baat karta hai! He shook his head at her antics and went back to work.

It had been barely 10 minutes that he had got back to work when his door barged open and there she was! She charged up to him excitedly and gave him a hug and said- you will not believe what just happened! She said excitedly

Neil- obviously avni, tum bataogi nahi toh how will I know he said, pushing back a strand of her hair and still holding her close

Suddenly they heard a cough and DD was poking his head at the door- sorry voh I didn't know bhabhi was also here

Avneil sprang apart but avni quickly walked up to him and gave him a warm hug saying- DD! Kaise ho?

DD- main accha hun bhabhi, aap?

Avni- super duper awesome! And guess what...I have a surprise for you!

DD- accha, voh kya bhaabi?

Avni- tada! She said as she fished out a brown bag from her large purse!

DD- with twinkling eyes- bhaabi! ye aap mere liye seven...

Avni- interrupting him before he could complete- haan tumhaare fav sevenlal ke samose** hai! Ye lo. Enjoy!

DD- hugged her once more in happiness- thank you bhaabi! Aap sabse best ho!

Neil who was watching all this with amusement cleared his throat loudly and DD quickly sprang apart and said- sorry sir, sorry bhabhi he said sheepishly

Avni- sorry kyun, iss khadoos ko tum rahne do she said indicating to neil- tum jao- enjoy karo!

DD- vaise bhabhi ye kis khushi main?

Avni- voh toh tum mere liye agar ek cup chai le ke aaoge toh batungi- she winked at him!

DD- arey neki aur puch puch...main yun gaya aur yun aaya!

Neil- oh hello madam, ye kya chal raha hai? Pahle mujhe khadoos bulaya and now DD ko chai lane bhej diya- he asked her with mock sternness

Avni- arey, because I wanted to share the good news with you first na!

Neil- what news?

Avni- this, she said holding out an envelope from her bag!

Neil- opened it and read it and looked up at her with surprise!

Avni- We won the LUCKY DRAW!!! I didn't even know that they had put in a coupon in my name also. My office is doing an ad campaign for their company and for promotions they had announced this contest and we WON!!! We can go on a HOLIDAY and we can pick any European city as our destination!!!! She said animatedly

Neil- holiday nahi avni...

Avni's face fell immediately as she looked at him disappointed- kyun she asked in a small voice

Neil- kyunki...he said slowly as he walked closer to her and cupped her face with one hand and said- holiday nahi hoga, honeymoon hoga! He said with a wink and placed a quick kiss on her cheek letting his lips linger for a few moments

As he pulled back he saw her cute blush and said- haaye, meri tamatar kitni laal hogayi hai! He said pulling her cheeks!

Avni swatted his hand away- neil she huffed...don't call me that ya!

Neil- kyun? Kitna cute nickname haina..tamatar!

Avni- nahi hai. She mock glared at him with her arms crossed in front of her!

Neil- achha ok wifey- shaant ho jao! He said pulling her by the hand and making her sit down as he himself leaned against the table and asked her- so kab ja rahe hum honeymoon pe?

DD- honeymoon?

Neil- haan DD, tumhari bhaabhi ne mere liye ye surprise plan kiya hai he said happily in a teasing tone.

Avni just blushed and quickly said- nahi nahi...maine plan nahi kiya, voh toh hum voh lucky draw jeet gaye, uska prize hai bas!

DD- vaah bhaabhi! Congratultaions...aapki toh lottery lag gayi!

Avneil chuckled at him

DD- Isi baat pe aap donon ke lijiye chai peejiye, main chalta hoon! He grinned at them and left

Avni and neil picked up their cups and just as she was about to sip it

Neil said- wait! And he moved his cup closer to hers and clinked them together and said- cheers ! for our 2nd honeymoon baby!

Avni just smiled back at him and replied- cheers! But as soon as she sipped her chai she sputtered and placed the cup back down, a few drops of the hot tea had spilt on her in the process

Neil- quickly moved to her and said- avni- kya hai yaar! He exclaimed- Aise kaun garam garam chai peeta hai – sometimes na bilkul bachon ki tarah behave karti ho tum he chastised her, quickly wiping away the few drops of the spilt hot tea on her face and top with his hands- ruko ab- he quickly moved to the cupboard on the side, found an unused cup lying there and came back to her. He took her tea cup and then poured the contents into the other cup a few times- trying to get it to cool down and then tested it by taking a sip and said- ye lo, ab piyo he said- handing the cup back to her

Avni just smiled back at him and whispered a quiet thanks, picked up her glass and drank. (in her head she was just over the moon to see how concerned neil was about her- for every little thing! Every small action and reaction of his oozed love, concern and protectiveness)

As they both sipped their chai Neil asked

Neil- accha toh batao.kab ja rahe hum spain?

Avni- Spain? Humne toh Italy decide kiya tha na?

Neil- kab?

Avni- what do you mean? Humaari pahli date pe hi! We discussed na that we'll learn Italian and go to rome and venice

Neil- but remember we watched zindagi na milegi dobara and decided that we should go to spain!

Avni- but if we go to Italy we get to learn Italian and explore Italian cuisine also! How awesome will that be she said trying to convince him

Neil- so? that works for spain too...we can learn Spanish and go for the tomatina festival miss tamatar!

Avni- don't call me tamatar! And we are going to Italy, not spain!

Neil- arey why? And why do you get to decide?

Avni- because I won the lucky draw in my office na!

Neil- so what? Its our honeymoon! So I also get a say na

Avni- opened her mouth to argue but realized he was right...but...ok fine how do we decide where to go? We will only get a few days off and we cant see both places, we have to pick one!

Neil- great so we are going to spain! Awesome!

Avni- oh hello! We have to mutually decide, doesn't mean I agreed for spain!

Neil- ok fine wifey...tell me how do you want to decide?

Avni- we can put it on chits and I'll pick one.

Neil- ok. I'll make them right away- he replied with a smile

Ye lo he said holding out two chits in his hand

Avni picked up one and was just about to open it when she saw neil's face and said- no no no! I should have known! Tumne pukka cheating ki hai...

Neil- kaisi cheating- he said with a shrug trying to play cool

Avni- oh please acting mat karo! I know ki tumne donon chits main spain hi likha hoga..she said grabbing the other chit and opening both of them and flashed it...and sure enough both of them said spain!

Neil- accha sorry he said sheepishly holding one ear and giving her a puppy dog look.

Avni just shook her head and sat back down on her chair and crossed her arms.

A few seconds later she said- I know.

Neil just looked at her blankly and said- what?

Avni- how to settle this

Neil- how?

Avni- stone paper scissor, best of 3

Neil- hein?

Avni- kya hein hein kar rahe ho? School main nahi khela kya?

Neil- are you serious? You want to play stone paper scissor with me?

Avni- tumhaare paas koi aur brilliant idea hai?

Neil- nahi

Avni- so then? ok ab time waste mat karo. We both need to get back to work also. She made a fist and waved her hand and recited with full concentration- ok, stone paper scissor and she flashed the sign for paper while neil who was still puzzled was still holding a fist.

Avni- Ha! She said grabbing his "stone" fist with her "paper" and said- I'm 1 up mister!

Neil – arey no no, voh main ready nahi tha

Avni- bahane mat banao neil! You still have 2 chances, come on

And she recited again- stone paper scissor. Neil flashed a paper and avni made a stone

Neil- ha! Tit for tat!

Avni- just pulled a face at him and said- ok last time- stone paper scissor- neil made a paper and avni had a scissor.

Avni- YES! She jumped up! I win, Italy it is!

Neil- just grinned at her childlike joy and her childish technique to play stone paper scissor to resolve their problem! In his heart he knew that he had lost on purpose because he knew that avni was going through the order- (coz that's just how she was!)she had already pulled a stone and paper so he had correctly predicted that she would pick scissor next and he purposely picked paper so he'd lose- because more than going to spain he wanted to see his wifey happy and if he really thought about it- didn't matter where they went as long as it was together! Ok wifey- Italy it is!

Avni- yes! And now we both need to get back to work! We can plan the rest of the deets this weekend ok! She said and grabbed her purse and said- ok bye, see you at home!

Neil- smiled back at her and replied back with a bye and was walking back up to his chair.

Avni had just walked up to the door but quickly ran back to neil, and shocked him by pulling him into a sudden back hug and said- I'm so happy! She squealed as she squeezed him- and said- vaise ye accha idea hai, to resolve all our future conflicts also! And then she planted a quick but audible kiss on his cheek before he could reply and then hurried back out of the door yelling out- bye neil!

Neil just rubbed his cheek where she had placed a kiss a moment back and grinned like a lovestruck idiot!
