Avni and Neil were finally content being back in each others arms celebrating their big day together. Finally Neel said- Avni since tumhaari meeting bhi cancel hogayi hai and the flight is not until tomm morn do you want to maybe spend the day together. We can do whatever you like. Shopping and later dinner together. Whatsay?

Avni- hmm. She snuggled closer to him. Idea toh amazing hai but ek issue hai

Neel-kya?

Avni- I don't feel like moving she said tightening her hold on him and burying her face into the crook of his neck. This is too comfy she sighed into him and breathed in his scent.

Avni continued- thodi der aise hi rahte hai na please

Neel- just chuckled at her- and pulled her closer pecking her head and whispered- for as long as you want baby he whispered into her ear.

He had missed this too, just cuddling with her was one of his fav things to do. She was always warm and having her draped over him like this was like having his favourite blanket- so cushy!

So they just lay there together for a good hour or so just enjoying each others presence, the comfort of being in their warm little cocoon. They were chatting about random little tidbits that they had missed sharing with each other over the last month.

Suddenly they felt Neel's phone vibrating. It was his mom- He pressed speaker to answer and his mom said- Tillu, tu kahan hai,ye teesri baar phone kar rahi hoon main tumhe. Aur avni ne bhi nahi uthaya. Aur tumhaara phone ye kaunsi bhasha main mujhe bol raha ki number not reachable hai ya jo bhi...anyway Happy anniversary tillu! She said happily.

Neel- Mom, relax. Thank you. Voh actually avni aur main Bangalore main hain. Uski yahaan ek meeting thi aur main usko surprise karne aagaya

Shweta- very goods tillu! Shabash...how sweet. Tu meri beti ko surprise karne blore chala gaya! Very good.. dekh liya prakash ji, mera beta thankfully aap me nahi gaya hai! Kitna romantic surprise diya hai usne! seekhiye apne bete se kuch

Prakash- shwetaji, main bhi toh aapko surprise karta hoon na

Shweta- oh please aap rahne do. Aapke surprises bhi main hi plan karti hun! She huffed.

Avni and neil chuckled hearing their parents bicker.

Shweta- accha avni hai vahaan?

Avni- haan mummyji, main yahi hun.

Shweta- happy anniversary beta! Tum donon humesha aise hi ek saath khush raho! Vaise tum log vaapas kab jaa rahe ho ghar?

Avni- kal subah. Aur aap aur papa kab arahe ho?

Shweta- humein actually ek aur hafta lagega. Hum next Friday ko hi arahe hain. Vaise tumlog kal hi arahe ho toh tum aaj tillu ko chodna mat. Khub saari shopping karna ok aur baadme mujhe pics bhi bhejo

Avni- of course mummyji she laughed! And looked at neel and grinned at him

Neel- ye accha hai, tum donon mujh pe gang up kar rahe ho

Shweta- Tillu tu chup rah. Aaj anniversary hai, toh itna toh banta hai ki tu apni wife ko thodi shopping vagera karvao. Avni beta, Bangalore main na kaafi fashionable cheezein milti hai so tum na vahaan pe accessories vagera kharid sakti ho apne office look ke saath match karne aur kuch latest fashion ke kapde bhi le lo, ok. Tumlog enjoy karo thik hai. Main baadme phone karti hoon ok

Prakash- arey shwetaji, mujhe bhi toh wish karne do.

Avneil smiled hearing their papa in the background.

Prakash- avni,neel wish you both a very happy anniversary. Rab tum donon ko humesha khush rakhe

Avni, Neel- thank you papa!

Shweta- accha very good. Ho gaya, ab aap phone rakho aur unko thoda time spend karne do ek saath

She grabbed the phone from him and said- ok bye tillu, bye avni and she had hung up!

Avni and neel laughed. Just as they hung up avni's phone rang-

Neel- Neelama?

Avni- who else? She chuckled and answered the phone putting it on speaker

Neela- Baccha tum kahaan ho? Main subah se 4 baar phone kar chuki hoon tumhe aur neel ko, sab theek toh hai na?

Avni- haan ma, sab theek hai. Sorry voh kuch kaam tha toh utha nahi paayi.

Neela- vaise tum donon ho kaha pe ho? Bangalore main ho kya?

Neel- haan ma, avni ki Bangalore main meeting thi aur main usko surprise karne aagaya. Vaise aapko na police main hona chahiye tha...aapke observation skills toh amazing hai!

Neelama- haan, mera beta ACP hai afterall, toh uski intelligence mujh par bhi rub off ho gayi

Avni- oh hello! Aap meri mom ho! She mock complained

Neel- avni please haan, tumne meri poori family ko apne side karliya hai, ek neelama hi hai jo meri side hai.

Neelama- ok ok, guys chill. Tumlog kya bacchon ki tarah lad rahe ho! Anyways happy anniversary. Wish you both all the happiness in the world!

Avni, Neel- thank you ma

Neela- accha, I know tumlog busy hoge, toh main aur time nahi waste karungi. You guys have fun,ok! aur haan, poora din bed pe hi mat rahna, go out also! she teased and then hung up

Avni and Neel blushed looking at each other.

Avni- chalo moms ke orders toh aa gaye. Lets get ready and go shopping!

Neel- ready toh ho sakte hain but saath saath- what do you say? He winked at her suggestively

Avni- trying in vain to push him off her, nahi please – chodo tum, I know what you are thinking aise toh hum kabhi ready nahi honge!

Neel- tickling her- and said wifey you know me too well! He picked her up and lead her into the shower. After another steamy encounter in the shower,( Avni's second one in the day already :D), they finally got ready and left the hotel.

They spent the whole day at MG Road doing street shopping.

Yet again Neel was in awe of another shade of Avni!

Avni was in FULL ON bargaining spree. She had tirelessly walked up and down multiple shops, looked through tons of clothes, shoes, bags, chappals, hair clips, ear-rings- asked him for suggestions in between only to completely disregard it anyway! She was not giving in easily. She would try out or consider multiple options but finally hear the price and chuck it even though Neel had tried to convince her in vain that he didn't mind paying for it.

Avni had in a huff kept telling him off- Please Neel. This is street shopping. Tum na chup raho aur mujhe decide karne do!

So neel had just followed her around like a Hutch Puppy. In between when she did buy a few things she would hand him the shopping bag which he dutifully carried!

As neel looked around he saw a few other men like him trailing behind their wives/girlfriends holding the bags looking like they couldn't wait to go home. He laughed mentally at their plight but if he had to be honest he was really enjoying this. He didn't mind walking behind avni while she did her shopping, having her boss him around periodically....all this stuff just gave him a strange sense of peace and happiness. This was the kind of life he wanted for them...to watch as his wife did just regular stuff...the things that she had missed out on for a big chunk of her life-and he loved that he was getting to experience these things with her. Neel just walked behind avni, a smile plastered on his face. After having walked around for a few hours Neel asked Avni- accha avni, lets get a quick bite to eat na?

Avni- suddenly looked at her watch and said- umm no! no lets go. There's another place I want us to check out. SO we'll eat there.

Neel- but avni, bhook lagi hogi na tumhe bhi. Lets eat and go na

Avni- neel please, just listen to me na. she grabbed his hand and led him to an auto. She quickly gave an address and sat down.

Neel- vaise hum kahan ja rahe hain

Avni- voh umm...vo...haan ek boutique khula hai. Some really exclusive designs they have. It's the latest stuff, maine voh internet pe reviews padhe the- apparently like it's a must check out place---

Neel- oh ok (mentally- avni, you suck at lying to me! Mujhe humesha pata hota hai jab tum jhoot bol rahi ho...I know u've got some khichdi cooking, so lets see what it is!)

Finally they reached the destination and Avni and neel got down from the auto.

Neel- hmm, so kahan hai tumhara ye amazing boutique he asked her

Avni- voh..voh idhar hi hai. But tumhe bhook lagi thi na so why don't we eat first and then head there...

Neel – (just chuckled in his head at her antics)- ok chalo lets eat. Kahaan jana hai tumhe- yahaan par toh poori street is full of restaurants. Oh voh dekho- Italian. Chalo lets go- tumhe Italian pasand hai na

Avni- nahi nahi, aaj kuch aur try karte hai. And then she grabbed his hand and walked to stand outside a nice little café called Mama Lada's. It was a Mexican restaurant and as they walked in, Neel fell in love with the décor. It was very casual and it had a great ambience with a stage for live music and it looked like they had a karaoke night happening as well. He knew this was her plan because he had mentioned to her about wanting to try Mexican cuisine again. He had tried it in college long back and really enjoyed Tacos, Qesidilias, and Nachos.

A server led them up to a special table in a nice corner which had the best view of the café and also the street outside. It was already candle lit and they were both seated there.

Once they had settled down and placed their orders Neel said- Vaise I love it wifey, kaafi acchi planning ki hai tumne. It's a nice place and I love the ambience here. Thank you for arranging all this he said holding her hand in his.

Avni- blushed as she realised he had already figured out that this was all her plan and not a spontaneous coincidence like she was trying to make it appear!

Neel- rubbed his thumb over her hand and said- and I love it all even more because you planned it out instead of it being a spontaneous coincidence

Avni just looked at him in shock as he basically voiced out her mind thoughts!

Neel- baby, itna toh credit you should give me ki main apni wifey ke khurafaati ideas pehchan lunga!

Avni- just blushed and smiled at him

Neel- smiled back at her but didn't let go of her hand until the food finally came.

They dug into all the food and it was all amazing. Neel relished the Mexican food. Nothing like good food to brighten up a day after all!

Finally once the food had been cleared up, the waiter brought in the pre-ordered desert.

A small chocolate cake with happy anniversary on it! Both of them blew the candle together and fed each other.

Avni- happy anniversary neel she said

Neel- happy anniversary wifey he replied!

Avni- accha ek last cheez baaki hai. Remember I had told you that I had been working on something for a while before I "forgot" the date...

Neel- ya...he trailed off.

Avni- well its time for that.

She looked up at the manager and he nodded back at her with a thumbs up.

The manager walked up to the stage and said- Alright ladies and gentlemen. Now we are going to hold up the karaoke for a little while because next we have a very special performance...please give it up for Avni Khanna!

Avni slowly walked up onto the little stage and picked up the guitar lying there

She sat down on the stool and said in a slightly shaky voice- hi everyone, hope you are all having a good evening! So this little performance of mine is a dedication to the person who my whole world revolves around....my husband Neel! Happy anniversary baby! I love you. She said looking at neel while she spoke into the mic.

Even the audience members couldn't help but aww seeing the beautiful couple.

Neel however was speechless.

Avni continued- vaise before I start let me give a disclaimer- I'm not a professional, so thoda off key hogaya toh maaf kardijiye please

The audience and neel ( who snapped out of his shock at this remark)- chuckled back in response!

She quickly tuned the guitar and cleared her throat and then sang-

As she sang it she had looked at neel the entire time. Neel felt tears welling up in his eyes. He also loved the song selection.He knew why she had picked it- there were a few things that fit well for them- she had sung tu hai aasman main (because aasman is neel) teri ye zameen hai- (because zameen/earth stood for her- Avni)...he knew this was one of her fav romantic songs because it had a simplicity and also a divinity to it! Neel was also overwhelmed to see just how far Avni had come and how much she loved him. It was a long journey for her...it had taken a great deal of time to open up to him and accept her feelings for him given her past but this was a whole new level- publicly accepting her feelings, singing a song dedicated to him that too in a public space- this was not something anyone could EVER imagine Avni doing. And she was doing it for him! She was not just proclaiming her love to him but also to everyone around her! As she strummed the last chords of the song and finshed, the audience cheered for her. She just gave a polite smile to everyone as she set down the guitar and walked up to Neel.

Neel didn't know how to react. He just engulfed her in his arms and gave her a tight hug pecking her hair a few times and whispered a thank you in her ear. He was choked up and he couldn't say much!

Manager- Alright lets give it up for this gorgeous couple- Avni and Neel. Wish you both a very happy anniversary and a wonderful life ahead

The audience clapped and cheered for them and then promptly got back to their food! :D

Neel and Avni headed back to their table , finished their dessert and the paid the bill and left.

As they stepped out

Neel- can I ask when you planned all this?

Avni- what do you think? she asked with a wink

Neel- phirse bathroom break?

Avni- haha yes!

Neel- tum bathroom break bol ke kabhi bathroom nahi jaati kya ?!

Avni- jaati hoon, but bathroom main kaafi aur cheezein bhi kar leti hoon!

Both of them laughed.

Neel wrapped his arm around Avni and pulled her closer.

Neel- thank you avni he said. This was all just perfect. This has been the best anniversary yet. I love you.

Avni- I love you too. She said and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
