So its been 6 months since Avni was back home. And now she had also been working for over 3 months. And she had been saving up her salary to buy gifts for her family, Neelama, Ali and DD. She was super excited about giving everybody their gifts today . She had invited Neela, Ali and DD also home but unfortunately they were busy so she decided to surprise them later with their gifts. It was already dinner time and Avni hadn't reached home. All the khannas especially neel were getting antsy waiting for avni to be back. Neel was pacing up and down in the hall and as the clock struck 9 he decided to call her. Just as her dialled her number avni had walked in with a bunch of packets in her hand.

Neel- Avni yaar, kahan thi tum. Aur ye itne saare packets kya hai

Avni- had walked back out calling out as she walked- 2 minute ruko! and came back in again with another box this time and then huffed

Avni- phew! Ok its all here now. She looked up at everyone with a BIG smile.

Bebe- arey puttar ye sab kya hai, aur tu aaj itni khush lag rahi hai? Kya baat hai bhai?

Avni- bebe, ye aap sab ke liye gifts hai.

Shweta- Gifts!!! She squealed excitedly!

Bebe- oh Madonna, pahle us bacchii ko andar aake relax karne de. Bechaari thak gayi hogi. Chal puttar hum khana kha lete hai, fir aaramse kholenge gifts

Avni- nahi bebe please. I know ki aap sab mere liye wait kar rahe ho dinner karne ke liye but mujhse ab aur wait nahi hoga. Pahle gifts aur baadme dinner!

SO she picked up one packet and handed it to prakash- papa ye aap ke liye

Prakash- thank you beta, but isski kya zarurat thi? Aur aaj kya occasion hai?

Avni- pahli baat toh gift dene ke liye occasion ki zarurat nahi hai, but anyway ye meri pahli salary se mene aapke liye liya hai

Prakash- cupped her face lovingly and said- thank you beta

Avni- kholiye na she said with the excitement of a 5 year old!

Prakash- accha ok- and he opened it to reveal a beautiful bandhgala suit which was exactly the perfect size for him

Prakash- wow beta, ye bahut shaandar hai. And it's the perfect size also. Plus I have...

Avni- you have a business dinner next week so you can wear it for that! She completed. Aapko accha laga na?

Prakash- ofcourse puttar. Meri beti mere liye gift laayi hai toh obviously amazing hoga na he said giving her a side hug

Bebe- avni, tumhaari choice toh badhiya hai. Mera sunny iss suit me bahut smart lagega!

Avni- bebe, ye lo aapka gift she said handing her a packet.

Bebe- opened it to reveal a whole bunch of pooja essentials. All the stuff that she really needed and also a pashmina shawl.

Avni- voh aap next week maddy bua ko milne Canada ja rahe ho aur vahaan pe thand hogi toh isliye I thought ki aap shawl use karsakti hai.

Bebe- ithe aa tu! She pulled avni in for a hug and kissed her forehead saying- meri bacchi- tune dil khush kardiya. Mujhe jis cheez ki zarurat thi tune vohi laa ke diya hai. Main aaj subah hi soch rahi thi ki pooja ki nayi samagri leni hai....aur ye shawl bahut sona hai! Thank you!

Avni just smiled – happy that bebe had like her gift

Shweta- ok meri baari! She clapped excitedly

Avni- mummyji ye aapka gift- she said pointing to the big box

Bebe- hmm, sabse bada dubba iss Madonna ke liye- she teased

Shweta- oh please bebe, aap kyun jealous ho rahi hai. Meri bahu hai, toh sabse bada gift toh mera hi hoga na!

And she went to open the dubba. And when she finally got it open her jaw dropped in surprise and tears welled up in her eyes.

Shweta- Avni...yeh tumne...

Avni- yahi model chahiye tha na aapko?

Shweta- just nodded her head and fingered the beautiful new sewing machine in front of her with glee!

After a few seconds once she composed herself she said- tumhe model bhi yaad tha! And she got up and gave avni a big hug. Thank you!

Avni- your welcome mummyji. And she whispered in her ear- ab aap bhi apne passion ko pursue kijiye.

Shweta- was overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness of Avni.. She didn't even remember the exact context now but she had casually mentioned to avni last month about how she used to really enjoy tailoring back in the day!

Meanwhile Neel had been watching Avni and his family with happiness. He was amazed that not only had she bought gifts for everyone, she had put in a great deal of thought into what they would like and find most useful. She had picked up on little details like the fact that dad had a big business dinner coming up,and bebe needed pooja stuff. And his mom, he could see from her reaction how much this meant to her. It was probably the best gift she had received in a long time!

Avni- accha chalo, ab sabko apne gifts mil gaye hai! Lets eat. mere pet me chuhe daud rahe hai!

Neel- suddnely snapped out of his reverie as he took in her words and exclaimed - Avni, mera gift?!

Avni – oh, I'm sorry muje pata nahi tha tumhe bhi gift chahiye...she walked closer to him and said vaise main hoon na! voh kya tha.....haan tumhaare liye toh mera pyaar hi kaafi hai! She winked at him! mimicking his dialogue to her from their first Diwali!

Bebe, prakash and shweta laughed!

Shweta- Very good avni. Tit for tat! I like it!

Bebe- haan ye accha hai- jaisi karni vaisi bharni

Neel- oh hello, ye chal kya raha hai? Aap sabne team badal liya! Main iska pati hoon, mujhe bhi gift milna chahiye na!

Prakash- (teasing) arey but avni khud tumhaara gift hai na. tumhaari wife hai, zindagi bhar ke liye teri amanat hai. Ab isse zyaada aur kya chahiye tumhe?

Bebe-baat toh sahi hai! Shweta- haan ekdum correct

Neel- haan aap log toh bologe na, aap sabko gifts milgaye hai!

Bebe- accha please hum dinner karlete hai, sabko bahut bhuk lagi hai. Aaj kaafi late hogaya hai

Avni- haan chalo. Main 2 minute main haath muh dho ke aati hoon

Neel watched in shock as everyone just dispersed! He couldn't believe that avni really hadn't bought him anything.

He sat at the dinnertable with a pout.

A few minutes later he felt avni's hands go around his neck and a giftbox with a ribbon was infront of him. He looked up to see her smiling down at him. He excitedly grabbed the box from her and opened it to reveal a beautiful limited edition Rolex watch!

Avni- tumhaari purani watch kharab ho gayi thi na. And also mujhe laga ki it could be symbolic you know- this way main har "ghadi" tumhaare saath rahungi, she said using her hands to air quote the word ghadi! She laughed as she said it!

Bebe, prakash, shweta also chuckled and smiled at her play of words.

Neel had been silently looking down at his gift

Avni- arey I'm being Punny, Ghadi and ghadi....get it! tumhaare jaise cheesy lines maar rahi thi!

Neel was still silent

Avni- kya hua, tumhe pasand nahi aaya kya. We can get it exchanged for something you like better if you want

Neel finally looked up at her pulled avni into a bear hug!

Neel-whispered into her ear- pagal ho kya, I absolutely love it! And I love the thought behind it even more. Its not just a pun, it's the truth. This is truly the best gift...ki tum har ghadi mere paas raho. And he pecked her hair lovingly. Thank you.

Shweta- clearing her throat- ok agar tum donon ka romance hogaya ho toh hum sab khaana kha le?

Avni and neel broke apart quickly, both blushing

The elders just smiled at Avneil while each was blessing them mentally that they should be happy like this forever.

Bebe- sach me aaj toh bahut khushi ka din hai....hum sabko itne acche gifts mile hai aur voh bhi tumne apne salary se liye hai humaare liye. Avni puttar rab kare tu aise hi khub saari tarakki kare!

Avni smiled back at bebe.

As they all enjoyed their dinner together she was content. This is what she had always imagined...this was her fairy tale and it was no more a tale, it was her reality!
