Avni looked at riya as she placed her bag away

Avni: there is no story neil just bought me perfumes and when I went to get my phone from the store i bought him one since I thought he might like it

Riya:awwwwwww

Avni: riya shut up

Riya: na na ab toh I wont besides i saw how when i told u to buy a perfume u didnt but when neil JIJU told u to buy a perfume u agreed straight away hayeeee already started to listen to your soon to be better half

Avni:u r mad clearly mad when u have someone watch I wont spare you she said going towards the washroom

Riya: hayee I'm waiting for that day and I wonder when my princes charming will come she said laying on the bed

at the khanna mansion

Bebe who was watching tv saw Kareena and shweta walk in

Bebe:where is neil?

Kareena: bhai is just parking the car she said 

Bebe: how did the shopping go she asked sitting straight, turning the TV off as shweta and Kareena sat down next to her

Shweta: it was good bebe... the rings will be ready in two days she said

Bebe: chalo that is good now we just need to start the engagment preparation

Shweta: haan bebe... the engagment is going to be held at the metha mansion as decided...and the guests and our outfits are the only thing that is left

Bebe:I have prepared the guest list you check that in a bit as I had called dayawanti ji today and we thought of getting  the cards printed by tomorrow but still we will call everyone up personally

Shweta: you are right bebe

Bebe:and what about the menu?

Shweta: bebe woh neela ji was saying they are looking for someone good

Bebe nodded when she remembered something

Bebe: shweta how about you tell them about ali?

At that time neil walked in while looking at some emails on his phone and with his other hand held the perfume bag...kareena saw him and smiled micheviosuly

Before shweta could answer neil spoke

Neil: tell who about ali?

Shweta: the metha family ...for the food on the engagment day.

Neil nodded and recieved a call from the office so he answered it....while shweta was telling bebe she will call neela up and ask to see what she says

Kareena saw Neil was on the phone and saw him loosely holding the bag...after a few mins she got up and slowly walked towards him wheras neil had finished the call and cut it when he felt the bag slip from his hand but only to realise it hadn't slipped but Kareena had taken it

Neil: Kareena what are you doing ?...give me the bag he said

Bebe and shweta who were talking  stopped and turned when neil spoke

Kareena: awww bhai it looks like you want to hold on to the bag your whole life I wonder why she said teasingly

Neil: kareena that is what you think, it's my bag so give it to me

Kareena:ofcourse how can I forget my soon to be AVNI BHABHI gave it to you...your first special gift from her she said lifting the bag in the air with a cheeky smily while neil tried to get it but Kareena ran away

Bebe: these two started again she said shaking her head with a smile on her face

Neil: Kareena give the bag he said still running behind her

Kareena: I will bhai... what is the hurry...or you want to try the perfume since avni bhabhi gave it hmm she said teasingly

Before Kareena Could run further neil got hold of her and took the bag and slapped her head lightly

Kareena sat next to bebe laughing as she laid her head on her lap while neil went up to his room

As neil entered his room neil took out the perfume from the bag and smiled thinking about avni getting him a perfume...he opened it up and smelled it

Neil: my fav he said smiling to himself and placed it near his other perfume collection

Meanwhile at the metha mansion avni was also thinking about how neil has a good taste in perfumes and how he was sweetly asking her if she got the perfume for him because he bought it for her making her smile...she was happy she had mistakenly left her phone in the store as she got a chance to buy him something....their first gift to each other

Meanwhile downstairs shweta had called neela

Neela: hello shweta ji

Shweta: hi neela ji actually I wanted to ask you something

Neela: sure tell me

Shweta: have you found any caters yet?

Neela: nahi not yet but we were looking online to  see which one has a good review but most of them seem the same

Shweta: if you dont mind can I suggest you one..the person who supplies the catering we know him very well if its ok with you

Neela: of course shweta ji that would be really great and since you know him then I'm sure his service would be good

Shweta: jii actually he is Neil's friend who owns a cafe but he also runs a catering service  and we was thinking about him so just wanted to ask you

Neela:I see..well I'm glad you asked it actually  gave me a big relief...shweta ji if there is no issue can you ask him

Shweta: ofcourse I will and I know he would never say no

Neela and shweta shared few more words and both ended the call...bebe told shweta to call ali

At the cafe ali was taking an order when his phone rang and seen shweta call he answered it

Ali: hey shweta aunty how are you

Shweta: hellos and how are you after first tell me would you agree to something I say

Ali: you just order and I'll be at your service

Shweta: that is like my boy...acha listen u know na neil is getting engaged so... but before she could continue ali interrupted

Ali: wait wait wait neil? Our neil? He is getting engaged?

Shweta: haan didnt he tell you? She said frowning

Ali: if I had known I would have been there long back...this guy didnt tell me anything at all...I wont spare him now

Shweta: that you sort out later with him first listen to me we want your team to be I'm charge of the menu on the engagment day

Ali:of course shweta aunty I would love to.... But haan dont tell neil that I am coming over now.. this guy is surely gone now he said and ended the call

Later on when neil was heading down he saw ali greeting the khanna family

Neil: hey ali he said walking over to him and was about to give him a hug but ali ignored him and moved away to hug Kareena while neil was surprised

Kareena: how are you ali bhai

Ali: all good what about you he said

Kareena:perfect she said with her sweet smile

Neil: ali he called out

Ali looked at Neil with a straight face and turned to shweta

Ali: shweta aunty thank you for allowing my team to be in charge for the catering service for your son engagment I promise we wont let you down he said

Neil closed his eyes realising he completely forgot to inform about his engagment to ali

Neil: ali sorry yaar i didnt mean to keep the engagment news away from you...everything happened so soon that I completely forgot.... Otherwise has it ever been that I haven't shared my happiness with you he said placing both of his hand on ali shoulders

Ali: and when would you have remembered? When you would have gotten engaged? If shweta aunty wouldnt have called me I wouldnt have even known. He said making a baby face

Neil smiled

Neil: never...if not me then someone from the family would have asked about you and would have made sure you are there no matter what.

Ali:, still I'm hurt he said folding his arms and turned away while the rest smiled

Neil:mommm tell him na

Shweta: nope it's your fault you have to pacify him

Neil: great...ali mere bhai please forgive me na please. He said holding his ears

Ali: only on one condition. He said moving his hand behind his back

Neil: what he asked

Ali: from now on you wont repeat the same thing again and you have to tell me how did my best friend agree to marry so soon...deal?

Neil thought for a sec

Neil: ok deal he said

Ali:chal ab give me a hug he said smiling widely while neil chuckled...ali was damn happy for his friend.

Neil: you will never change...nautanki he said

Ali: that I am now tell me how did you plan to get married to her

Neil: come he said about to take ali but shweta stopped them

Shweta: talk as much as you want but come down to have dinner after a bit ok.

Ali and Neil nodded and headed to go to Neil's room

Ali:so tell me how did all this happen

Neil smiled as he sat down next to ali on the beanbag and narrated how avni proposal came

Ali: so what made you agree to marry avni ?

Neil smiled as he got up and walked towards the window

Neil: there is something about her that pulls me towards her more...her simplicity is what attracts me...her caring nature for others, her honesty is reflected in her eyes...when ever I would meet her na ali my heart would be at peace and when I was asked if I want to go ahead i didnt see y I should say no

Ali:hmmm interesting he said seen the smile on his face.

Later on after ali left having dinner with khanna family Neil was in his room and was looking at some file when suddenly he got avni message

Avni:good night Neil... hope you had dinner

Neil smiled and placed the file down

Neil: I did have dinner and hope you did too he texted back

Avni looked at her phone when it beeped and replied back to neil

Avni:yup...just came back from a small walk. She replied back

Neil smiled when he thought for a moment and asked avni

Neil: avni are you free tomorrow evening ? He texted

Avni:yes I am. Y what happened ?  She replied

Neil: how about we go out to have dinner tomorrow? If you are fine with it he texted back

Avni read the message again...she smiled slowly as neil was still asking her if she is ok for dinner

Avni: ofcourse I am. You know how much i love food right 😜 she messaged him

Neil chuckled seen her message

Neil: ok then I'll pick you up at 6pm then...goodnight he messaged

Avni: night night she replied back

Both smiled as they put their phone down and were excited

The next day at the metha mansion

Avni sat down at the dining table and greeted everyone who greeted her back

Avni: maa today I'll actually be going out to have dinner she said as she took a slice of bread

Neela: with who bacha ?

Avni: neil she said causually...but as she looked up she saw her siblings giving her a teasing smile who were sitting opposite her...she ignored it and took a bite of her bread

Ashish: anything special bacha ?

Avni:no papa it was just planned like that she said

Ashish nodded

Riya:awww my sister is going on a date with her soon to be fiance she said

Avni: riya shut up she said glaring at her but she knew that wasnt going to stop riya

Dayawanti: avni we are actually happy that you and neil are spending time like this by the way where are you going

Avni: that I'm not sure as neil has decided

Dayawanti nodded

Meanwhile at the khanna mansion neil also had informed the family and Kareena was also teasing him in the same way.

Neil:Kareena he said pulling her ears lightly as she sat next to him

Kareena: ok sorry sorry she said....

Neil: better he said and let go of her ear and started to eat

Around 6pm neil had reached exactly on time at the metha mansion...luckily riya and aman were not there as one was working and the other had college otherwise he wouldnt have missed all the teasing

Neela: neil beta come and sit down she said as he took her blessing

Neil: how are you aunty?

Neela:I'm good beta what about you

Neil:all good

Neela:shall I get you something? Do you want tea or water?

Neil: some water please

Neela nodded and went to get it and came back in few minutes and handed neil a glass of water

Neil: thank you he said giving her the glass back

Neela: welcome

Neil: isn't anyone else home?

Neela: maa is in her room resting and the rest are out busy with work and college

Neil nodded

Neela:I'll just go and call avni she said while neil waited

In avni room avni was getting her phone from the charger when she saw neela enter

Avni: ok maa she said and both headed down

Neil turned around as he heard neela speak

Neela: neil here is avni...and I hope you both have a great time.

Avni: hey she said as she came near him while neil got up seen how beautiful she looked

Neil: hey he said

Neela said bye to both and left them alone.

Avni was able to smell the perfume she had gotten for Neil while neil was able to tell she actually used the perfume that he had chosen for her and both smiled

Neil: shall we go?

Avni: yes she said and both started to walk out

Neil opened the door for avni as she sat in the passenger seat and he walked over to the driving seat and sat inside.

After some time avneil reached at the restaurant and both headed inside where neil had already booked a table for both of them and were shown their table  by the waiter

Waiter: here is the menu...I'll be back in a bit to collect your orders he said leaving avneil

Neil: lets order first he said while avni nodded and both placed their order when the waiter came over and left them alone again

Avni: neil

Neil:hmm

Avni: how comes you decided dinner all of a sudden ?

Neil: I dont know avni as I was messaging you it just popped in my head...y ?

Avni: nahi woh just out of the blue you asked so thought maybe you must have planned it or so.

Neil: even if I did you would have still said yes right he said giving his charming smile while avni looked at him for a sec and then played with her bracelet

Avni: I guess so she said with a small smile.

Neil: so what did you do today?

Avni: nothing much just baking for few customers and then chilling she said

Neil: I wish If I had a life like that he said making avni chuckle

At that time their food arrived

Avni: it may sound easy but it's very hard 

Neil: since when did relaxing become hard he said playfully as he took a bite of his food

Avni: neilll very funny...but haan baking is not easy

Neil: well nothing is easy in life right and I know it would be hectic for you while baking as thinking about how to present it and all is not easy

Avni: exactly just like business meetings and all the presentations you have to do

Neil: absolutely he said

Avni: by the way how did your day go?

Neil: meetings and meetings while chilling on my chair he said making avni shake her head as she smiled at him

As they continued talking avni and nei heard slow music play in the background

They continued to eat for few mins when other people started to walk towards the dance floor

Neil: avni

Avni: haan she said looking at him

Neil: how about a dance

Avni: dance?

Neil: haan a small dance

Avni: um ok she said wiping her mouth with a napkin

Both got up and walked towards the dance floor

Avni looked at the other couple dancing to the slowly music when she saw a hand appear in front of her...as she looked at the hand and lifted her gaze she saw neil waiting for her with a sweet smile playing on her face

Avni placed her hand on top of his and took a step closer as she placed her other hand on his shoulder and his other hand went around her waist

As his hand came In contact with her waist avni jumped a little

Neil: what happened he asked ?

Avni:nothing she said in a low voice as they started to move as something stirred inside her but even she was unsure why she felt like that

They were dancing close but there was still a small gap between them. With both Looking at each other now and then

As neil twirled avni around both their eyes landed on to each other... for a sec both stood still when their feets automatically started to move however this time their eyes didnt leave each other and a small smile played on their lips

Few minutes later everyone around started to clap and avneil looked around to see the dance finshed

They slowly moved away from each other and smiled

Neil: come he said gesturing avni towards the table who nodded and both headed back

Avni: you are not bad at dancing here I thought I would probably be stepping on to your feet but luckily I was saved she said

Neil: well the same case is here too... I actually enjoyed it he said

Avni: me too she said looking at neil and smiled and then looked down at her plate with the smile still playing on her lips

After they finshed dinner they were heading towards the car

Neil: avni y dont you come over to khanna mansion for a bit everyone will be happy seen you

Avni: maybe some other time Neil

Neil: is there any timing to go to people house ? Especially when that house is also going to be yours he said crossing his arms and looked at her with a small smile

Avni: there is no timing neil but...i mean it wont look good na me coming to your house without even informing

Neil: correction...as I said it's our house and like I said the family will actually be happy seen you...please avni..just for few mins

Avni: ok ok fine she said chuckling seen the cute look on his face

Neil: by the way I forgot to say something

Avni: and what is that ? She asked as they sat in the car

Neil: you are looking really beautiful today he said

Avni heart skipped a beat not expecting to hear that as a small blush appeared on her cheeks

Avni: thank you she said after few secs as she looked down trying to stop her shy smile making a boyish smile appear on his face

20 mins later avneil reached to the khanna mansion and as she and neil entered inside she saw how they all were sitting in the living room watching tv...she smiled seen bebe applying oil in shweta head who was sitting on the floor and Kareena with her head on prakash shoulder as their eyes were on to the TV

Neil: hello everyone he said grabbing everyone's attention

They all smiled but soon their smile widened seen avni besides Neil and all got up

Bebe: avni puttar she said getting up followed by the others while avni and neil walked over to them and avni took blessing of prakash, shweta and bebe and hugged Kareena

Shweta: what a pleasant surpise beta.

Avni: I'm sorry I know it's late but....she couldnt complete as prakash spoke

Prakash: puttar ji this is your house too he said patting her forehead making avni smile

Neil with his arms crossed looked at his family who was making avni feel at home

Bebe: come sit down puttar she said making avni sit next to her while the rest gathered around her

Shweta: how was dinner with tillu I hope he didnt trouble you

Avni: no aunty not at all in fact we both enjoyed she said looking at the rest and then at neil

Bebe: do you want to have something?

Avni:no bebe I'm fine thank you she said

Suddenly they heard a voice near the door

"Hello everyone"

All turned around to see harpreet with a smile on her face but that smile was filled with bitterness from inside

avni didnt know who she was and saw the family smiling at her

She saw neil and Kareena going to take blessing of her and slowly stood up as the rest were standing too

Bebe: harpreet you came at the right time...avni this is harpreet my sister and harpreet this is avni who we have fixed Neil's marriage with

Harpreet looked at avni as avni moved forward and took blessing of her while harpreet blessed her without any interest and a small fake smile on her face

Harpreet: are your parents here too she said looking around

Avni: um no they are at home she said casually

Harpreet: strange..you are not even engaged to neil yet and still over here at this time ...before marriage all of this isnt good. She said with a serious face

The smile from avni face faded while neil noticed it which kind of anger neil

Bebe: it isnt that late harpreet and avni is going to be a part of this family so she doesnt have to see what time it is to come to her house she said

Harpreet: when am I denying this isnt her house? I just am saying girls shouldn't be out till late at night and especially at their soon to be fiance house who are not even engaged otherwise it gives people a chance to talk about it

Neil: harpreet dadi it was me who told avni to come here while she denied he said and looked at avni smiling at her making her give a small smile back at him

Avni: I will actually get going now as everyone would be waiting at home

The khanna family nodded while harpreet rolled her eyes which nobody noticed...avni took blessings of all and left with neil

The car journey was silent for a while none spoke however neil kept glancing at avni now and then

Neil: avni are you ok ? He asked concernly

Avni turned to look at neil

Avni: haan Neil I'm fine she said...though she was ok she still found it weird as nobody had said that to her and hearing someone say something like that to her made her feel a little uncomfortable and upset

Neil stopped the car.

Neil: avni are you sure? He asked as he felt she was just saying it so that he doesnt feel bad

Avni: I'm fine neil nothing is wrong she said while  looking at her bracelet

Neil sat sideways and made avni turn her face towards him with his hand on her cheek...but as their eyes met he forgot what he wanted to say...both continued to stare at each other... neil looked at avni lips and then back at her asking for her permission  and as if she understood she blinked her eyes at him making him lean closer

As their lips met slowly for a second both stayed still but then their lips started to move slowly against each other which had all their emotions pouring in

After few seconds both moved their lips away while their face was closer and eyes closed...neil hand was still on her cheek while they both were trying to catch up with their breath

Both slowly opened their eyes and looked at each other...neil smiled slowly seen avni's flushed cheeks making her lower her gaze

Neil got hold of her hand making her look at him.

Neil: avni... harpreet dadi isnt bad but sometimes she ends up saying things that can make someone upset...you know bebe is modern but harpreet dadi... she is one of those old generation types.. about wanting thing be it about how a girl and boy cant meet before getting married, Not go to each other house, be on time and so on...so please dont be upset and nobody at home had any issues of you coming over they all enjoyed it as it was clearly seen on their face  so please dont be upset as I actually cant see you upset because you didnt do anything wrong

Avni listened to neil and was understanding what he was saying. But also was surprised when he said he cant see her upset

Avni: I guess you are right neil she said and smiled at him

Neil: i also want to say something else

Avni wondered if he would say sorry about the kiss

Neil: I dont regret about our kiss at all he said making avni widened her eyes while her cheeks automatically turned red giving her answer which made neil chuckle

Avni: let's go now she said

Neil smiled boyishly as he moved his hand away and sat straight to start the car

Avni looked out of the window ... she never realised she would have her first kiss with Neil and that too like this...yes she had thought of different ways her first kiss would be but this was not less than heaven...she bit her lip as she recalled it and luckily she was facing towards the window

After some time they finally reached outside metha mansion...as avni got out of the car neil also did

Avni: thank you so much for today she said walking over to him

Neil:well thanks to you for always making every meeting better he said

Avni smiled ..she suddenly moved forward and gave a hug to neil while he stood still for a second but then his hand automatically went around her hugging her back

Avni: goodnight neil she said and then slowly moved away

Neil: good night he said and smiled...

as she went near the door she waved at him before going inside while Neil got into the car and recalled their hug

Neil:first kiss and first hug he said smiling widely
