Everyone turned around to see the door broken and Neil with dd and police force. Avni couldn't help but smile in tears while the goons couldn't understand what happened in past few minutes.

With that he started fighting with everyone who came in his way and other constables too fought and arrested everyone. Only the head was left who was still standing near Avni trying to register everything in shock. Neil reached near him and standing between him and Avni gave him murderous looks. Sunehri got other children out till then.

N: Vo kya h na, tune glt ldki se panga liya. Ye bahut khatarnak h mere bhai. Achhe achho k raste lga deti h, m police vala hoke nhi bach paya tha, tu to phir bhi mamuli sa gunda h.

This made everyone smile but Avni looked at Neil, who was backfacing her, with narrowed eyes. Neil turned such that he was able to both of them and gulped seeing Avni. In meanwhile, Sayesha remembered what had happened and went near the head.

S: Police to tujhe baadme saza degi, jo krne ki tune himaat ki, uske liye pehle m teri khbr lungi.

She was about to slap him but Neil held her hand. Dd took him a bit far where all his gang members were standing.

N: Relax! Why r u reacting this way?

Neil left Sayesha's hand and looked at her questioningly which made Sayesha to look towards Avni who was nodding her head in a no. Neil followed Sayesha's gaze and understood that Avni won't let her tell the truth.

N: Mishti tumhe kisi se, (seeing Avni) mtlb kis se bhi drne ki zaroorat nhi h. Sach sach batao kya hua tha? Ye tumhe sirf rent k liye force kr rhe the na? Phir?

Sayesha told everything to Neil who fisted his hand. Avni feared that Neil would surely burry him alive. His eyes were bloodshot red scaring everyone.

He was going towards the goon but Avni stopped him by holding his arm.

Neil jerked her hand which made Avni wince in pain as she was holding him with the same hand which was bleeding a bit before. Listening her, his eyes immediately softened and he looked towards her hand. Grabbing it gently, he looked at Avni with tensed expressions.

He made her sit on the sofa while Sayesha got the first aid box. He cleaned and bandaged her hand wincing himself.

Avni just stared him with all the love in her heart. She couldn't believe he was the same person who was crying like kids outside the gate, the same person whom she had hurted so much but who can't see a small scratch on her. Neil noticed some blood on Avni's nails which clearly explained that she had hurted herself.

N: Tumhara dimaag khrab h? Apne aapko kyu hurt kiya? Tumhe pta h isse infection ho skta h😤? Kitna dard ho rha hoga🥺!

Neil stopped and looked at Avni whose eyes showed love and guilt. Her face was tear stricken with fresh ones forming in her eyes. The glow of her face was long gone and she looked tired and gloomy. He felt a pain in his heart seeing her but distracted himself by doing the bandage.

This made Avneil to look at each other resulting in a cute eyelock. Neil lowered his gaze and stood up.

Neil looked angrily at him but registering his words, he looked at Avni who was giving murderous glares to the goon. She got up and went towards him.

Avni stood in front of the head and asked Dd to remove his handcuffs. Neil headed towards the gate. Avni forwarded her hand to stop him but couldn't gather enough courage but at the same time she couldn't let go Neil like that, atleast not when she hasn't decided her next step yet so she decided to make a move.

Neil turned and raised his eyebrows asking what.

He smiled and agreed. He looked at Avni who looked happiest. After an hour the lunch was ready. All the kids and Neil settled down on the dining table. Avni and Sunehri were in the kitchen. Avni was stirring the Rajma she was preparing for Neil but her mind was in the moments when Neil bandaged her hand. She felt so peaceful. The feeling she was missing from 5 yrs. Her face had a sweet smile. Sunehri entered in the kitchen to take the lunch when she noticed Avni. She shaked her a bit bringing her out of Neil's land.

Sh(teasingly): Aapke chehre ki muskaan ki chamkaan ka karan aapke vo h😉.

Sunehri broke the hug looking at her for an answer.

Sh(cutting her off): Avni, Neil ye deserve nhi krta, to kya tu krti h? Tum dono jb sb theek kr skte ho to kyu uss past k piche pde ho jise tum badal nhi skte?

A: I don't know! Mujhe nhi pta mujhe kya krna chahiye. But I think for now I'll go with the flow.

Sh: Achha theek h, pr tujhe mujhse promise krna hoga ki agr tu sb kuch theek krne k liye kuch nhi kr skti to cheeze khrab bhi nhi kregi. Promise kr tu Neil ko khud se dur krne ki koshish nhi kregi.

Avni smiled and nodded her head in a yes. Sunehri's face too adored a smile and both the girls took the food outside where Neil was enjoying with the kids. They reached there and served the food to everyone. Neil's face brightened seeing his fav Rajma chawal. He looked at the girls and thought that Sunehri must have made it as Avni doesn't know cooking.

N: Sunehri, ye rajma chawal?

Sh: Ha Neil tumhe psnd h na?

N: Ya!

Neil casually had a bite but closed his eyes feeling the extreme pleasure of the soft kidney beans melting in his mouth. He lost himself in devouring it's deliciousness.

Avni went behind Bebe and stood keeping her hands and chin on her shoulder looking at her chopping the onions.

Avni came forward and stood taking the support of the slab fidgeting with her fingers.

Sunehri shaked Avni which brought her back to reality where her husband was licking his fingers after eating the food made by her. Not only Neil but all the kids ate heartfully.

Neil who was busy licking any remaining part of the food just hmmed.

This question made Neil stop his work and look at Avni who was already looking at him. Both shared an eyelock remembering something.

Avni was roaming here and there in the room waiting for her husband who was again late from work. She didn't call him as she knew that could disturb his work. She felt like grabbing a glass of water after so much not needed walk but the jug was empty irritating her more.

She went outside to get some water from the kitchen when she saw two shadows near the pillar of the corridor. She hid herself behind the door. It's not that she can't fight with them but she didn't want the whole family to wake up. She couldn't take risk on their lives. She just wanted Neil to appear like hero of some movie but that wasn't possible. She finally dialled his number.

Customer care: The number u r trying to reach is currently switched off. Plz try again later. Aap jis no se sampark krna chahte h vo abhi switch off. Kripya thodi der baad prayas kre.

Avni hung up the call in frustration. Neil wasn't replying and these thieves were getting over her nerves.

A: Kya kru😩? Ab bs ek hi tareeka h, jb tk Neil nhi aa jata, I've to make sure ki ye ghr se bhr na jaye.

Avni followed the thieves silently. They moved from room to room picking different things.

Neil was studying a file with keen concentration when he heard a knock.

Neil shockingly looked at Dd listening the time. He looked at his watch and closed his eyes in frustration.

N: Oh no, maine time pe dhyaan hi nhi diya. Avni ne abhi tk kuch khaya bhi nhi hoga. Dd m chlta hu, tu bhi ghr ja.

D: Ji sirji! Apna aur bhabhi ka dhyaan rkhiyega.

Neil smiled at Dd and wrapped up all his things.

N: Jldi chl beta vrna ladydon kaccha chaba jayegi😰.

Neil went to look at his phn which he had kept on charging. He tried opening it but the battery was dead. He looked confusingly at his phn, then the switch board to find it off.

N: Ohh shit! M switch on krna hi bhul gya😣.

N: Avni pareshan ho rhi hogi.

He took his files, car keys and phn and sat in his car. Taking out the powerbank he kept his phn on charging and took off from the station.

The thieves collected a big bag of valuable things and money that they could get and stood near the stairs.

Thief 1: Bhai bahut h aaj k liye itna, ab chl kt lete h yha se.

Thief 2: Ruk ja, itne bade ghr me koi tijori bhi to hogi, use dhundte h.

T 1: Nhi nhi, agr ghr wale uth gye aur unhone police ko bula diya to?

T 2: Chup! Chl mere saath.

He dragged him down the stairs while Avni followed. They looked in the rooms downstairs but didn't get anything while all this time, Avni was hidden behind a pillar.

T 2: Shayad tu thik kh rha h Chintu, yha kuch nhi h.

C: Ha Pintu bhai, chlo.

Avni heard their convo and panicked thinking that they would leave. She slightly pushed a small decoration piece kept on the table making it fall directing the thieves' direction towards it.

P: Kaun h waha?

A: Meow, meow🐈!

C: Arey bhai billi h.

P: Pr yha?

His words haulted as he heard a knock on the main door. Avni thanked God for helping her. Both the thieves hid behind the sofa kept directly opposite the door. Neil called Avni as he can't have rung the bell at this time. Avni's phn started buzzing. Luckily it was on vibration mode and didn't make more sound. She picked the call.

N: Avni m gate k bhr hu, jldi aake darwaza kholo.

Neil immediately hung up the call scared of his wife's wrath. Avni pretented to be coming from upstairs, behaving all normal and opened the door. Neil smiled nervously at his wife which she returned by a wide one making him confused. He entered inside and kept his things on a table while Avni closed the door and switched on the lights.

N: Sorry yrr, phn switch off ho gya tha aur kaam bahut tha to....

A: Koi baat nhi😊.

Neil looked suspiciously at his over sweet sounding wife. Avni just smiled and holding Neil's one hand in hers and keeping other on her waist, she swayed slowly.

N: Tumhari tabiyat thik h? Phir se Ali kuch laya tha kya?

A: Shut up Neil. Just live in the moment. Vaise gana bhi hona chahiye na? M gati hu.

Neil first was confused but then understood everything with her lyrics. He slightly giggled before detaching himself from her.

Neil called DD and told him everything. He then took Avni's hand again and danced till Dd would arrive. Avni slightly blushed seeing him taking full advantage of the situation. After sometime they heard a knock and detached from each other. Dd with other constables dressed in casuals came in. Neil, Avni and others silently walked till the sofa.

N: Hands up!

Both the thieves got startled and in no time were arrested and taken. Whole family was awake by now and praised Avni for behaving smartly. Avneil went to their room and Avni fell on the bed.

A: M pta h kitna dar gyi thi?

She sat up as Neil sat beside her.

N: Sorry wifey, aage se aisa nhi hoga.

He made his famous puppy face which melted Avni in a sec. Neil got changed quickly and got them food heated as a compensation. They fed each other and layed on the bed.

A: Umm....movie dekhe?

N(whispering): Bhagwaan itna tubelight kisi ko na banaye😑.

Neil played the movie and both sat on the support of the head rest with Avni's head on Neil's shoulder and hand's entwined. Movie got over and Avni's eyes were moist while Neil wasn't seeing the movie. He was just noticing Avni's expressions all the time.

Neil raised his eyebrows asking her to continue.

This statement made Avneil look at each other but Neil soon shifted his gaze to his phn and his eyes widened seeing so many missed calls of his parents and Bebe. He remembered his phn to be on silent and immediately dialled Shweta's no. It was picked at the first ring and the sound coming from the other side made him take his phn away from his ears.

Shweta(shouting): Tilluuuu!

He slowly brought his phn closer and put it on speaker as he didn't want his eardrums to burst.

N(pleadingly): Mom, I'm extremely sorry!

Sw: Kya sorry ha? Kha h tu? Aur....

B: Shaant hoja Madam Madona. Neil puttar tu thik h na?

Bebe came as a saviour as she knew that Shweta was planning an hour or more lecture for Neil.

N: Ji Bebe, m bilkul thik hu, and I'm sorry m aise...

B: Nhi nhi puttar, tu koi chhota bachha thode hi h, pr aise jldbazi me bhaag k gya, hm to dr hi gye the.

Everyone looked at Neil suspiciously while he shut his eyes being caught.

S: Aap to mujhse milne aaye the na, phir jldbazi kyu?

B: Neil tu kha h?

S: Nmste Bebe, m Sayesha. Bebe Superman yha Sukoon ghr me h.

B: Tu Kashid kyu gya?

Avni could sense Neil's nervousness. She understood the reason and smiled for the same. He always had bad intuition whenever she would be in any danger.

A: Bs Sayesha. Teacher ki trh kyu sawaal krri ho. He's fine and that's all matters.

B: Ha vo bhi h. Vaise ye awaaz, Avni puttar😍!

A: Bebe🥺! Ha m hu Bebe, Nmste, kaisi h aap?

B: M bhali changi hu puttar pr teri bahut yaad aari h.

A: Mujhe bhi🥺.

Suddenly something striked Bebe.

B(excitedly): Avni Neil vhi h, to tu uske saath kyu nhi aa jati idhar? Milna bhi ho jayega.

A(stammering): Bebe m....

Sw: Ohs yes! U is comings. Tillu agr tu Avni ko saath nhi laya to m tujhse baat nhi krungi, finals😤.

N: Pr mom....

Before he could say anything, Shweta hung up. Neil looked at Avni who was hesitantly fiddling with her fingers.

A: Neil m...

S: Zaroor jayengi, aap bs mujhe thoda sa time dijiye Superman.

With that Sayesha dragged Avni in her room and locked the door.

A: Sayesha m kaise...

S: Kyu nhi? Aap sirf sbse milne hi to jare ho. Wait lemme choose perfect outfit for u.

Sayesha fiddled with dresses in her cupboard until she got something her eyes twinkled seeing.

S: Ye lo, go and change.

A(looking at the outfit): Ye m... Sayesha kiski h ye...m kaise?

S: Aap hi ki h. Ek baar mall gyi thi, to psnd aa gyi thi aapke liye. Pta nhi tha kb dungi but just bought and see kaam aa gyi. Go now.

She pushed Avni in baathroom. After about 15 mins she came out adjusting her blouse.

S: Not at all and for heaven's sake, u took my breath away😍. I pity on u Superman.

Avni couldn't help but blush on her comment. She was still adjusting her blouse not being fully convinced to visit her in laws after 5 yrs like that.

Sayesha made her stop doing that and made her sit in front of the mirror. She slightly curled her hair and applied light pink makeup as Avni liked.

S: Perfect! Gosh, just look at u. U'll be death of Superman😍!

Avni looked in the mirror at herself and gasped seeing the old her, not even one change. Neil was getting restless with Bebe's decision. Though it had been only 20 mins, he thought to check once.

(Me: Stop🤚

Neil: And why would I do that🙄?

Me: I'm warning u! Don't go inside if u wanna be alive.

Neil: Shut up and excuse me.

Me: Ohh meri baat na maanke jo andr jaoge, bada pachtaoge, bada pachtaoge. Nhi mana, ur fault😈, me goingss🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️)

Avni stood up and looked at Sayesha.

A: I still think I should change. Ha m jari hu.

Sayesha tried stopping her but she started walking looking back at Sayesha and bumped into something. She lost her balance but ofc her saviour wrapped his hands around her waist looking at her face. She slowly opened her eyes not feeling the ground to drown in the brown orbs she had been always addicted with. Sayesha got a perfect picture of them and left.

About 10 mins, Avni moved which made Neil make her stand straight and that is when he noticed her. Staring her from tip to toe, he didn't know how to react. His breath stuck, heart skipped some beats and eyes checked her out. She felt a strong gaze and didn't dare to meet it. Neil gulped the lump in his throat. How was he gonna manage this irresistible package of hotness in the whole ride.

(Maine to pehle hi bola tha🤷‍♀️)

A: Vo Sayesha ne di h, just give me 10 mins, m change krke aati hu.

He didn't know what came over him and he gave a straight denial.

N: I mean...hum late ho rhe h.

He didn't spare another glance on her and walked out. Avni followed him till the gate only to witness another surprise. There was no car, he was there on bike. Wow! How many surprises are yet to witness.

N: Umm...are u ok on bike with this.

He asked not looking at her for he himself didn't know what he'll do.

A: I'll manage.

Neil sat on the bike and Avni followed. She sat sideways and held him by his waist. Neil's felt butterflies in his stomach and his heart was doing somersaults with a mere touch. He took her hands and kept at his shoulders feeling it to be less difficult to handle.

The ride was silent. Though Avni's hands were on his shoulder, they had a good distance in between. He was now and then seeing her through rare mirror to witness a peaceful face with hairs dancing in air. He was staring her when Avni suddenly shouted.

A: Neil watch out😱!

Neil squeezed sudden brakes to save a little puppy from death.

(Socha tha aisa kuch😂😂? Guys guess what, this puppy will be their love cupid😉)

Avni immediately got off the bike and picked him up who looked quite scared.

She played with him vanishing all his fear while our Khanna sahab stared her like a love smitten teenager.

After sometime, Avni came to him making him come out of his staring session and get aware his surroundings which were not favourable.

A: Neil dekho na, ye bechara kho gya h, kitna cute h, hm ise apne saath le chle plzzz.

N(surprised): Wow, mujhe nhi pta tha tum ldkiyo k jaise shauk rkhti ho.

A: 😒What do u mean? M ldki hi hu. Ya I behave a bit different but even I've soft heart of a girl. Plz na, hm ise ghr le jaye.

N(smiling): Ha baba, thik h.

Neil's smiling face replaced with a shocked one when he felt soft petals touching his cheeks. That is when he realised that Avni kissed him in excitement. His hands automatically moved on his cheeks tracing it looking wide eyed at her who didn't even realise her stunt and was busy in playing with the puppy. His face adored a pink hue and he scratched the back of his neck in shyness.

Avni sat on the bike with puppy in one hand and other on his shoulder. He took her hand and kept it on his waist pulling her close for the same, smiling. Avni wasn't able to understand the change in events but she silently sat on his support by pressing her cheeks on his back. He drove smilingly and Avni too was smiling heartfully. They didn't know what life had for them in its store but they were just living in the moment forgetting anything else.

N: Avni I think hme ise kuch khilana chahiye, if u don't mind aage ek chhota sa beach h, let's grab something. Ek break bhi ho jayega, abhi ghr dur h.

A: Ha Neil sure.

Neil stopped the bike and both got off. It was almost sunset time and they went towards the sandy area. Avni was moving when she felt a tug on her saree. Both turned to see a cute little girl of about 7-8 yrs standing looking at the puppy in Avni's hand.

Girl: Oscar🥺!

Avneil looked confused until the girl took the puppy from them and hugged it tightly.

Girl: Kha chle gye the tum? M kitna dr gyi thi. (Looking towards Avneil) Thank you so much bhaiya, didi, ye mera puppy khi bhaag gya tha.

Avni's face changed expressions which didn't go unnoticed by Neil. He felt sad for her. She then smiled and kneeled till the girl.

A: Aapka naam kya h?

Girl: Komal! Komal Srivastava!

K: Aapko pta h aaj mera birthday h. Agr ye gum ho jata to mera birthday ruin ho jata.

With that Komal went from there with Oscar.

N: Cool name na? Oscar! U can say hey I've Oscar😁.

Avni rolled her eyes at his bad joke and both broke into smiles. Just then Avni again felt a tug and turned to see a cute boy, a bit elder from Komal.

Boy: Thank u so much aap dono ko vrna Komu bahut sad ho jati.

With that he ran kissing Avni's cheek who bent towards him. She smiled but Neil frowned. He took out his handkerchief and as Avni got straight, rubbed a little on her face and then started walking but Avni was in shock. This incident reminded her something.

Flashback....

Avneil were going in Neil's car as Neil has to go to the police station and Avni had some work in market. She got down to take something when her sight went to a boy sitting sniffing outside a shop. She went to him and talked. She discovered that he was lost and Avneil decided to take him to police station. They were going towards the car.

Boy(calling out): Didi! Thank u.

With that he kissed her cheek and ran to sit in the car. Avni smiled but Neil didn't like it. He took out his handkerchief rubbing it on her cheeks as if removing traces of his kiss. Avni looked at him surprised.

N: Kya? Aise kya dekh rhi ho? Tum cute ho, iska mtlb ye thode h ki koi bhi aake tumhe kiss krke chla jayega. Ye haq sirf mera h😒.

With that he walked towards the car leaving highly blushing Avni.

Flashback ends...

Avni looked towards Neil who was sitting on her sand near the water and blushed thinking about her over possessive husband. She too went and sat near him.
