i draw a lot but i'm not really progressing as an artist. next year all my friends will go into the more advanced art while i'll be taking computer sciences because i've come to resent going to art class due to my lack of skill. plus the more advanced art requires out of school activity past that which i would reasonably be able to do and still keep up with my current list of activities: essentially, i had to choose between art, crew, and writing and i could only pick two.

plus someday i'm going to have the self control to let myself starve to death and if i take things that have practical job applications it will make it look like i tried when i fail everyone around me anyways

this is dylan and i was going to give him viltigo but he's been white forever. i know people who are white can have viltigo because i actually know someone who does (she's gorgeous). I could also change dylan's skin color so it shows up more but I'm just not seeing it 

as for the horns he's a shapeshifter and he does shit like this to annoy people. the suit was because he's my character and I want him in a fucking suit

dylan has the best self esteem of any of my characters because most young hot gay messes like him are secretly like self-loathing but no dylan's best at shapeshifting out of all the amalgams which is very highly linked to one's self esteem

his boyfriend fucking hates himself though 

sometimes artists draw things and post it with captions like "my hand slipped" but my hand only slips when i draw vent art, if you ever feel bad start drawing and then dig into the paper and let your hand sliiiide across it making awful dark lines it's really satisfying and actually a great way to vent but for the record be careful about doing it in class i've gotten some looks and i'm like "hey i'll mutilate a picture of my 11 year old fursona over here and you go do science over there, like a loser"

anyways i'd say my hand slipped but for me to draw this much i'd need to have a hand seizure so this is the Broken Souls gang  or at least some of them. there was some Pisces on the edges but she got cropped out. wow that's just stone cold. being cut out of the picture is like a punch to the gut. 

important thing that i want to point out: the auspicia (princess)/nat relationship is unhealthy on both sides almost all the time post-tgd

natrina stops being able to care for anyone else sometimes because they all pass by so fast, like trees on the roadside on a long car trip. she doesn't know where she's going or when she'll step out into the sun or if anyone will be left to greet her when she gets there

the princess just wants to start over and make more friendships but i think deep down she already knows any relationship she makes will end up breaking tragically, it's prophecy, it's destiny

speaking of a bad dog look it's ampere. yes this is the princess who goes with delta from a few pages back. he gets her the goggles as a "thank you for not sicing the authorities on my illicit base of operations" gift. ampere only frowns twice in her life. i want her to look like a mastiff but it gets rid of the princess-y feel so i'm working on it

someone told me to draw some amalgam true forms of my other characters and i went for it. of course they only suggested my warriors ocs which is like...

they're already pretty in-tune with their souls, amalgamations represent a discrepancy between your physical form and what you really are. at least she suggested rushcall that was fun

yes those are the aster flowers on a chain around rushcall!amalgam's paws. she's based off the dc myth of the dragon and the phoenix and siamese twins its basically just lu and ash tied together with some glowy dragon shit

piper is from the original sequel from double rainbow where no joke dark rainbow and fucking glitchpaw came back in rushcall-esque fashion to possess a wolf from the generic-ass wolf realm and then they Do Things

I had nothing planned. The only good things that ever came out of it were Theo and Piper. If you recognize the name Theo it's because I retconned Sorrel and Theo, two of the protagonists, into TCHF halphazardly. 

As for Starry (the possessed doggo) she ended up as Pathogen.

 some people really get it good during rewrites/canon shifts and some people are gash, starry, or marcecee

practicing with lapines. I want to start making new Dreamland species again but giving them anatomy that is recognizable as the parent species but distinctive enough to look like their own thing is hard and i clearly haven't gotten there yet with these guys

yet I try anyways. This is Alexander he's an Esdemel which is like a unicorn but smaller- think the dwarfish unicorns with unshorn fetlocks and the lean tails with a curl at the end, that's more his type. they have healing powers 

no one pays close enough attention to my books to get my really shitty jokes but all the healers in TSBS are named after saints (not hard when you look up a list of saint names: there are a fucking billion) and all the fauna in tgd-onwards are named after stars

speaking of okay character designs i can't shut up about ozzy so here he is again but better

torch-5 was some trippy shit and iris and torch are still my otp like four years later. i mean ship who you want from my books but these guys were the originals. they were the first legitimate couple i ever wrote and the first hope x determination couple (the others being bronze x lilly, rush x nova/ash x pyre, and  lotus x vivian- there's a spoiler-y one in where the river bends, ylva x emily kind of counts. i'd say something about adam x evan but megan also exists and you can ship those three every which way to sunday)

now for shitty school doodles: non-binary moth kiddo i doodle on everything and south. south usually isn't smiling when her powers activate and usually someone is also dead or fatally injured when she does so

kali, the wolf girl, and dylan. the wolf girl is an old character of mine who i just draw on things like moth kiddo. no one knows about them and eventually i stop drawing them and who knows what then. kind of sad actually 

i'd say evan started out that way but actually he was an idea i had for years who got implemented into deja vu. this is why random concepts are important hold onto them 

kali is great but the snas influence is still so obvious i want to fucking punch something

if kali punches you in the face you probably deserve it

unless you're red in which case her punching you in the face will be the critical turning point of a several volume work of literature that doesn't exist

these kids have been close to my favorites for years they deserve a book but i just have no clue what the beginning of their story is (where are they from?) and what they do after red's secret leaks to the group (and where do they go?)
