Doing some promo art of Gale. It was a quick, simplistic one-minute sketch, but I definitely want to do some more Gale stuff as I get closer to TCHF:Rewritten. You guys have no idea how excited I am to get back to that book- feels like coming home.

I can never decide how I want Rain to look. Bottom right is current design. What a smart snootle. What a clever way for me to make Spritz and Torch bros even though they've never talked in person in the TSBS!verse. 

and there's Katrina. I need to change her name because it just... is awful... but more importantly her parents would never name their daughter anything less pretentious than Arazel so high-fantasy it is.

also her design didn't match her personality in TCHF for all because what is design am I right but now I'm making her a little meeker/reserved to match her demeanor because it makes sense given her sister AND originally she was a little obnoxious. Like there are a lot of introverts in the Lira City Defenders but everyone was still loud all the time anyways (besides maybe Minx, Rain, and Blossom?) so I might as well smh

Axiom walks a fine line between being "Cat Rena" and her own character... the real issue is that she has so many potential other parents that I don't want to make her look anything like any specific one of them while still retaining an identity that is derived from both parents... paradox children are hard 

anyways Axiom is just one of my new faves in general, I go through "kicks" where I'll be really into certain characters and currently it's the TCHF gang, Arazel, Dark, Wind, and Axiom

it changes weekly though I have a lot of characters and all of them are very important to me

theo from tails of fate (the first story I "created" for Wattpad... look how well that went)  might end up being in TCHF again but this time in a completely different role because his original cameo was stiff and awkward and it was never really explained what his deal was. anyways he was an obsidian factory experiment but it's well-established in TSBS they can't *make* Canira... so perhaps he was captured at some point and has been set free... I still have a lot of work to do on his backstory 

Lux is the temporary title for a story about a seraphim who loses her home world and creates an artificial reality to compensate, in which everyone thinks she is a normal child (named Genevieve Chiarou)  who has lived there her whole life.

To our narrators of course, this is no more than a normal town in the middle of a normal, ordinary world. ... right? In a sleepy city, a child discovers a mysterious book at the back of the school library. She and seven of her classmates find their lives changed forever as they begin to develop mysterious powers and dream of a world far beyond their wildest imagination, where the laws of the universe are unravelling- a chaos that will spread to their own universe if they don't find the source of the entropy and destroy it. However, as they venture deeper and deeper into this other reality, they find that the real threat has been hidden under their nose all along- one of their number is a chaotic god who idly created their world out of her loneliness. Stuck in a dream, the kids are faced with what will happen when their "friend" awakens... and must confront the nature of their own existence.

(Basically it's existential horror with fifth graders)

The above are David/Daniel (Dark) and Sora (Air) ... names are temporary for both. They're half Japanese, haven't figured out if it's their mom or their dad yet but you can guess which parent named who ha ha 

(i gotta do some more research before i settle with these names) 

Anyways they're not twins because my existing twins break my heart, instead these two are siblings separated by a year... Daniel skipped a year. He's a lot more "intellectual" than his sister but he has problems socializing and has been diagnosed with mild Asperger's, the big things for him include not making eye contact and then his obsession with Genny later in book... the two of them really hit it off let me tell you... oh boy do they ever. They are definitely not at each other's throats because genny is paranoid and daniel is incredibly sure she's hiding something 

Sora also might have ADHD but never was formally diagnosed like her brother was because she hid a lot of the symptoms from her parents or played things down because she didn't want people to think she was weird when she was a wee child. Around third grade there was a pretty drastic shift for her where she made up her mind, for whatever reason, that SCREW PEOPLE'S OPINIONS, and now she's her twitchy, tree-climbing self whenever she wants to be. Speaking of such, that's how she met the currently unnamed Natural element character- he climbs trees to read books and be alone and she was like "hey can i share your tree"
