Daily Doodle: Bruno Is Orange (Realistic Gale)
Technically this counts as tomorrow's daily doodle because I'm up and you can expect not to see me much on this book in the coming days.
God I need to sleep.
Anyways I was supposed to be asleep an hour ago for optimal performance tomorrow (because I got no writing done today) but then I remembered I consumed a bunch of sugar just before nine because I thought I was going to get writing done and wanted to stay awake... then talked to my friends until eleven anyways... then the actual sugar kicked in at midnight. Could've just been me, I was frustrated at my lack of productivity and I'd been meaning to draw him for a long time anyways.
Snout's a bit short and the fur's off in some places but all in all I'm proud of it. Took about an hour.
Fun story: when I was in eighth grade, I draw Gale on everything. Didn't matter if it was drawing paper, scratch (notebook) paper, my homework- anything was fair game. He was my favorite OC for almost two years straight and even though I was too inexperienced to convey it well in The Cities Have Fallen, I think it was because he ended up being the first character who had the mixed moralities and more complex characterization I was really hoping for with my books.
Now, my 'favorite' character is whoever I'm focusing on at the moment and I'll blaze through like five a week and circle back around again. This morning I had a sudden "holy shit Twitch is super interesting" phase. Definitely have to talk about Evan Drake about three times a week, to ensure everyone's still paying attention. Ashley Hart? Oh yeah. All the time. My obscure kiddos no one knows? On it. Dreamland OCs who have no relevance or bearing on the main plot, like Axiom? I've got ya covered.
Yet for some reason, Gale is one of the few who keeps me up late night doodling him to irrelevant songs and staring at me with that lopsided grin. What a dork.
