How You Met
Steve

You were at your favorite gym, running on a treadmill. You were sweaty, breathing hard, and wearing minimal makeup. But it seemed someone had found you attractive...
Next thing you knew, a handsome (and jacked) blond man was beginning his journey on the treadmill beside yours. You glanced over at him at the same moment he had decided to sneak a peek, and you offered a smile, to which he blushed a bit and smiled back, turning to finish the settings on the machine and the football game on one of the TVs in the room.
You kept looking over when he didn't notice, and vice versa, until your time was up. You wiped down the machine, changed your playlist from a random shuffle of a few albums to your favorite: Panic! at the Disco. You made your way over to the machines that would rip your arm muscles apart, and reluctantly decided it was arm day. Luckily for you, you had Brendon Urie cheering you on. The handsome blond you had jogged beside for over twenty minutes was doing free weights a couple yards away from you, and you tried not to stare.
By the time your routine had ended, you grabbed your hoodie and went over to the water fountain to get a drink, since you had forgotten your water bottle like the genius you were. You finished drinking from the Fountain of Life and straightened up, and almost jumped to see Blondie drinking from the fountain beside you. Just as he finished, you attempted to make conversation.
"Do you come to this gym often?" He straightened his back and looked at you with a smile on his face, and you instantly grew hot. "I mean...I just—I've never seen you here before," you fumbled for the right words, letting your dreams of getting his number wither away and die.
The man chuckled and shook his head. "No, I'm pretty new here. Nice to come in and see a pretty face, though."
You blushed a bit, and hoped it would blend in with the workout flush. "Well, thank you," you giggled, and he nodded his head to you, then held out his hand.
"I'm Steve Rogers by the way, ma'am," he said politely, and you gave his hand a firm shake.
"(Y/N) (L/N). Nice to meet you," you returned, inwardly hoping something good could come out of this...and hopefully soon.
Loki

You were hanging out with Thor at a small coffee shop, and sharing some Pop-Tarts he had brought with him.
"So how are things going back home?" you asked as you bit into your fudge sundae Pop-Tart.
Thor nodded, "Things are going all right...at least as normal as they can be with Loki being on the loose."
You hummed in agreement; Thor had told you that Loki had gotten away, defeated, after his latest plan to rule the earth had been foiled by the Avengers. "Hopefully he won't cause too much trouble."
"Indeed." Thor sipped his coffee, and you followed suit, the both of you just enjoying the silence of the early morning.
Suddenly there was a flash of light followed by a green fog, and a man materialized into the cafe. The few surrounding people who were also there at the early time of the day screamed and ran out of the shop, including the barista, so it was just Thor, you, and the mystery man.
"Loki," Thor said warningly, "what are you doing here?"
"Loki?!" You turned to your friend Thor with an incredulous look on your face; you had heard much of the god of mischief and lies, but you'd never seen or met him before.
"Yes, this is my brother Loki. Loki, this is my friend (Y/N)," Thor introduced the two of you.
"Nice to finally meet you," you said a little bitterly. After all, he and his army had destroyed part of your hometown.
"A mortal who does not seem to fear me...quite an intriguing specimen, brother." Loki grinned and turned to look at his elder brother. "I came to speak with you, Thor—" he paused to send a half glare in your direction, "—alone."
You held up your hands in mock surrender, and slung your purse strap onto your shoulder. "Hey, if you boys wanna talk out whatever, you do you. I'll be outside, Thor." As you strode past his younger brother you patted his arm. "Nice to meet you, String Bean."
Loki smirked as you walked out the door, and Thor did not fail to take notice.
"She catches your eye, brother?" he teased.
Loki shrugged. "She is a mortal. I care not for her."
Thor nodded sarcastically. "Sure."
Thor

You were having lunch with your best friend Jane Foster at her house, and the conversation quickly turned to the topic of relationships.
"So, (Y/N)," Jane began with a bit of a teasing tone in her voice, "anyone special in your life?"
"Oh, come on, Jane," you said, rolling your eyes with a smile on your lips. "you know I'm not ready to date after Brendon." You had dumped your boyfriend Brendon about a year ago after you caught him cheating on you shamelessly.
"(Y/N), it's been a year! Are you sure you're not ready? Maybe you just haven't found the right per-" Jane was interrupted by her phone ringing, and she held up a finger as she answered it, indicating to you to hold the thought.
"Hello? Oh, hi, Thor! Yeah, I'm good; how are you? Good, that's good. No, I'm not really doing anything, I mean, I'm eating lunch with (Y/N). She's my best friend. No, I guess you haven't met her before. You know what? Swing by in like half an hour; I'll introduce you! Okay, awesome, see you soon! Bye!" Jane hung up and turned to you with the most excited smile you'd ever seen on her face.
"Thor? You mean like the Avenger Thor?" you asked skeptically.
"Yes! And now you're going to be able to meet him!" Your best friend looked to be beyond ecstatic and had quite forgotten about her sandwich, running around the room and tidying a few things up, as well as straightening your mussed hair and clothes. "Who knows, maybe you two will hit it off!!"
"Who knows," you agreed, biting into your sandwich again, not letting the prospect of meeting a god get between you and your precious meal.
Thirty minutes later there was a powerful knock on the front door, and Jane was over there in a second. Next thing you knew there was a huge blond man (who was apparently the god of thunder and lightning) in Jane's home.
"Jane Foster, hello!" he greeted quite loudly with a smile on his face about the size of his biceps. "It's good to see you again!"
"It's good to see you too, Thor!" she responded and wrapped her arms around the god in a hug (or at least as far as she could reach around his torso). "I can't wait for you to meet (Y/N), come on!"
Jane led the god over to where you were sitting at the dining table, and you stood, smiling. "(Y/N), this is Thor. Thor, my best friend (Y/N)."
"Greetings, fair maiden!" Thor boomed merrily.
"Nice to meet you, Thor!" you returned and held out your hand for him to shake, but rather than following the normal custom, he instead lifted your hand to his lips and kissed your knuckles gently.
You quirked an eyebrow, a little confused but not about to complain. Maybe you could give this guy a chance...
Bruce

You were working very diligently on configuring the gamma ray signatures that would be able to locate the Tesseract, your equipment, random sheets of paper, and tiny bits of chalk strewn around the room and on the tables. Even though it looked as if a tornado had picked its way through the place, your mind was very focused and clear, betraying the façade of your surroundings.
Suddenly the doors slid open, startling you and causing you to drop the clipboard you were holding. Your head snapped up to see Natasha and some other person walking into the room.
"Hello, Nat," you called from across the room as you bent down to pick up the fallen clipboard.
"Hey there, (Y/N)." Natasha and the stranger made their way over to the table where you were analyzing gamma ray statistics. "I have a lab partner for you."
"Lab partner? Is that who this is?" you asked, smiling at the new guy.
"Bruce Banner. Nice to meet you, Miss (Y/N)," the stranger said, holding his hand out shyly for you to shake.
Your eyes bugged and your jaw dropped at hearing his name. "Doctor Bruce Banner?!" you shrieked in shock.
The doctor laughed. "Just Bruce, if you please. No need for formalities."
You quickly remembered that he still had his hand out and shook it firmly. "O-Okay. Nice to meet you, Bruce," you grinned.
Nat smiled at you and nudged your arm with her elbow. "I'll see you later, (Y/n/N). Don't science too hard," she called as she walked out the door.
You and Bruce laughed softly as Natasha left, and he turned to you. "All right, (Y/N). You ready?" Bruce asked with a smile as he set down his suit coat and rolled up his sleeves.
"Absolutely!" This was going to be a good day.
Clint

Sweat dripped down your forehead and into your eyes, and your back and arm muscles screamed at you to quit as you pulled the string of the bowstring back, an arrow nocked and ready to fly. Ignoring the call of your muscles to rest, you drew back the string even farther and held it for a few seconds, then let go. The whiz of the arrow sliding against the arrow rest and the thud of it embedding itself into the target rang in your ears, leaving you quite satisfied, as it had been a perfect bullseye.
"Nice one," said a voice behind you, causing you to jump and twirl around, nocking another arrow at the speed of light.
"Woah, woah, woah!" he cried, holding up his hands in surrender, smiling nonetheless. "Easy there, sweetheart. Just here to admire the view."
You lowered your weapon and put the arrow back in your quiver. "Clint Barton, am I right?" you asked, and held out your hand, which he shook firmly.
"Yes, ma'am. And you are?"
"Agent (Y/N) (L/N)."
"Nice to meet you, (Y/N)."
"Likewise."
"Nice shooting, by the way," Clint said with a hint of something that sounded like nervousness or shyness in his voice.
"Thanks," you replied quietly, blushing a little and looking down at your shoes.
"Mind if I join you?" he asked hopefully.
You nodded eagerly, "That'd be great!"
Tony

You were at one of the famous Tony Stark's parties, just having fun and sticking by your best friend Pepper Potts like the somewhat introverted person you were.
"So, (Y/N)," she began, taking a small sip of champagne from the fancy flute glass, "how are your interviews going? Found any good opportunities lately?"
You shook your head in disappointment. "No, unfortunately no one wants a secretary as young as I am. I don't even think they bothered to look at my rep sheet. I mean I did get a college degree in law...you'd think they would accept that!"
Pepper's facial expression said it all. She was tired of potential employers disregarding the fact that you really deserved a job at any of the companies at which you had applied. "I agree!" After another sip of champagne her eyes lit up, and she turned to you and shook your arm. "You could get a job here!" she cried excitedly.
The wheels in your head started to turn as you stared at her joyful expression, and a smile began to make its way onto your lips. "Really?"
"Yes! My boss would be thrilled to have you as a secretary! You could work with me!"
"That is definitely a good bonus," you reasoned, the size of your excited smile affecting your words.
"Come on, I'll introduce you to him," she said quickly as she set down her now empty champagne flute and pulled you along beside her. The two of you deftly made your way through crowds of chatting, dancing, and wasted people and appeared at the other side of the huge room in a flash.
"Tony!" she yelled to a dark-haired man standing by the billiard table. He turned around and smiled at the sight of her.
"Hey there, Pepper. Who's this?" he asked with a cheeky smile when he laid eyes on you.
"This is my best friend (Y/N)."
"Your best friend, huh? How come you never brought such a beautiful young lady along with you? Have I not instituted Bring Your Best Friend to Work Day yet?"
You blushed at his compliments while Pepper explained to him your dilemma and desire to work as his secretary.
"Wow. You sure are determined, aren't you?" he looked to you again, a mischievous sparkle in his chocolate brown eyes.
"Yes, sir," you responded, holding your chin high. "I would appreciate the opportunity to work here, Mr. Stark. More than you know."
"Please, please, Miss (Y/N), call me Tony. 'Mr. Stark' is reserved for work hours only. Which, for you, won't begin until next Wednesday," he grinned.
"Please, Tony," you sassed back with a smirk, "call me (Y/N)."
Tony laughed heartily and put an arm around your shoulder, making you laugh as well. "Touché, (Y/N)."
"But honestly, Tony, thank you for this. I'm beyond grateful."
"It's my pleasure, beautiful."
