Natasha spun the bottle, and it landed on Tony. "Truth or dare?" she asked, taking a sip out of her bottle of beer which she just got. 

"Dare," Tony said, lazily, still smirking from FRIDAY's 'Mrs. Barton' comment. 

The assassin's smile had faded, instead replaced with a cold, hard stare at the bottle. "Tell us what happened in Afghanistan. And what led up to it." 

Tony's head snapped up and his eyes were wide. "No," he said quickly. 

"You have to," Sam said. No one seemed to understand Tony's fear of spilling his secrets - not even Rhodey. Probably because Tony hadn't told anyone what happened. "Please," the genius begged. "Don't-don't do this." Natasha only glared at him, and Tony gave in. 

"Fine," he said. "It was...well...I had to go to Afghanistan for a weapons presentation." He gave Rhodey a look who rolled his eyes. "Where I was presenting the Jericho - a-a missile." 

Bucky and Steve stiffened at Tony's last sentence. "What?" Steve asked, frowning. 

Tony waved them off. "Anyway, on the way back, we were attacked by the Ten Rings - a terrorist organization. They...they..." Tony trailed off, eyes pinned on the floor. 

"Tones," Rhodey said. "You d-"

"Shut up," Tony growled, the vulnerability replaced with anger. "They shot a missile at me as I escaped and...that was how I got the shrapnel in my chest. I was then taken captive by then, and treated on." 

"How did they treat you?" Wanda asked. "You were in the middle of the desert." 

Tony let out a shaky breath. "They cut a hole in my chest and got as much shrapnel as they could out. They did it all when I was awake."

Silence fell over the room and Natasha put down her bottle of beer. "Then, I-I met a man, Yinsen," Tony continued. "He was-he was a good man. So, we made the arc reactor together for me and formulated a plan to escape. He was shot down while leaving." 

"Tony..." Rhodey muttered but Tony ignored his best friend. "I escaped, and used the Mark I to get out. It flew - well, kinda. I woke up in the desert and was soon found by Rhodes. I was there for three months. So, Natasha, are you happy?" 

Natasha's eyes were closed. "Tony," she whispered. "I'm-I'm so sorry."

"Why isn't it in your SHIELD files?" Clint asked. Tony scoffed. "You think I'd want people knowing about that?" he snapped. "I wiped them - obviously." 

Bruce was shaking. "They did it when you were awake." Tony's angry expression softened. "Y-yeah." 

Tony reached out to spin the bottle but everyone got up and enveloped him in a huge group hug (yes, even Loki). "Wha-?" Tony begun to say but was cut off by a slap from Rhodey. "Just enjoy it." 

And he did. They all did.
