Bucky Imagine -Part 2

It was the following Monday that James came back to the library. You had been dragging Steve with you everyday since that first meeting and he was getting more impatient as the hours drew on.

"He'll come, Steve." You assured him again. It was almost 5, your shift finished at 6.

The large double doors opened and a hooded man in black stepped through. Steve tensed at your side just in case, but you knew he was scared. You told Steve to wait and come over to the history section in a few minutes, and you walked over to James.

"Did you find the book useful?" You asked, taking it back from him.

"Yes, thank you, ma'am. Do you mind if I look for another?" He asked politely.

"Of course. If you wait one moment I will come with you?"

"Of course, ma'am." You turned to check in the book and walked round to Bucky's side, before leading the way.

You had been dressing nicer just in case James had shown up, and today you were wearing a light blue floaty dress that went down to your knees and brown flat shoes. You put the book away as James selected another.

"You look beautiful today, (Y/N)." James said when you turned back round, a slight blush rising on his cheeks as your face became a tomato.

"Thank you, James." You smiled, ducking your head so he couldn't see the colour of your face. At that moment, Steve decided he was ready, and walked over, standing by your shoulder.

You looked up and saw the two men staring at each other in silence, tears in both of their eyes. The blue locked on blue. Both struggling for what to say.

"Bucky?..." Steve whispered. A tear rolling down his cheek.

"Steve...." James blinked and a tear tracked down.

Before you knew it, Steve had swept Bucky into a hug. Bucky closed his eyes, and wrapped his own arms around his best friend, pulling him in tighter. In that moment you knew neither wanted to let go, as long as they new the other was there they would be ok.

Eventually Steve pulled away and wiped the tears from Bucky's face before drying his own.

"I missed you." Steve said, stepping back to stand next to you again.

"I missed you too, Shorty." Steve grinned hugely at the use of his old nickname.

"I guess I can't really call you that anymore, huh?" Bucky glanced down and back up, with a smile on his face. You found it stunning. Steve laughed.

"You got your memories back? How?" Steve asked, concerned the old Bucky wasn't really back.

"I remember some things, but they're all odd pieces." Bucky's smile dropped and the pain in his eyes was more evident than ever. Steve looked at you, scared for his friend.

"I'll help you, Buck. I'm with you till the end of the line." Steve hesitated as he said the last part, though relaxed as Bucky pulled him in for a hug.

"I'll ... You know.... Help if I can." You said, wanting them both to know you'd be there for each other.

Bucky glanced at Steve, "How can you keep yourself off this one?"

Steve looked down and smirked. You were knocked off your guard entirely.

"Or are you....?" Bucky trailed off, flirtatious grin dropping as he looked again between you and Steve.

"No." Steve managed, clearly about to burst into laughter. You smiled a bit, still unsure about the change in pace of the conversation.

"(Y/N), ma'am... If you wish to, I would love to take you out for drinks sometime?" Bucky blushed slightly, but the flirtatious grin still managed to find its way back onto his face. You smiled, hiding your excitement.

"I would love to."

"Hey! I'm still here-" Steve began drawing your attention back to him.

"What? A bit of romance still scare you Steve?" Bucky joked, and Steve relaxed slightly as he realised that his best friend was still the young man who stood by his side through everything.

I give up. Do you want to come back to mine? Do you have a place or anything?" Steve finished, leaving the question open.

Bucky looked away. "No..."

You looked in sadness at the man in front of you.

"Good." Steve stated. Both you and Bucky turned to him in shock. "You're living with me." Steve grinned as he started walking towards the desk. Bucky's face was one of pure happiness, his best friend had accepted him back /and/ given him a place to live. You smiled and followed them to the desk, checking out Bucky's new book and signing out of your shift.

"First up. I'm introducing you both to Lord of the Rings." You grinned, grabbing Steve and pulling him back to his apartment. Bucky just followed with a look of confusion.

"I want all the blankets and duvets and pillows and cushions down here, and the tv and DVD player on, with popcorn ready, for when I'm back. I'll get the films, drinks, candy and chocolate." You ordered once you were all in Steve's front room. "And tissues." You tacked onto the end, as you swung back out of the door. Giving the boys some privacy.

When you returned 15 minutes later, Steve and Bucky had done exactly as you'd said, and were sat waiting on the couch. Bucky glad to be accepted, and Steve glad to have his best friend home where he belonged.

You carefully got the first disk in place, before heading back to the couch to help sort out the food and blankets. You curled up in the middle, into Steve's side and Bucky moved closer, his metal arm resting over your head by Steve's shoulder.

"Prepare for the best 9 hours of your life." You stated, pressing play.
