i. THE FEATURE YOU LIKE BEST ON HIM
( his smile, and his humour )
Sam Wilson has a smile that can knock you off of your feet. You noticed it the moment you met him, and you were pretty sure it was what made you fall for him. It lit up his whole face, and looked completely cheesy. You absolutely loved it.
He also had a humour like no one else you'd met. You found his lame jokes a lot funnier than anyone else's on the team (or anyone you'd come to know, really). You're not sure if that's because they're actually funnier to you, or because you have feelings for him.
ii. THE FEATURE HE LIKES MOST ON YOU
( can he choose? )
Sam is hopelessly and deeply in love with you, so pretty much everything about you, and everything you do is heavenly to him.
He'll constantly catch himself staring at you with major heart-eyes, simply adoring the way that you speak, or gesticulate, or smile wide when you're speaking to someone. How you look genuinely interested with whatever you're doing. How you move around.
Sam, he loves everything about you.
iii. AN AVENGER (OR TEAMMATE) SETS YOU TWO UP
Sitting on the end of your desk at your office, Natasha fiddled with the pandemonium. "All I'm saying is that I know you'll love him," She told you.
You were leaning back in your chair, watching her with your bottom lip between your teeth. "How can you be so sure?" You asked curiously. You weren't apposed to being set up on a blind date, you just didn't want it to end badly.
"I just . . . know these things, alright?" She told you, eyebrow arching as she looked up at you through a veil of red hair.
You leaned forward in your chair, your hand finding a pen on your desk as you scooted closer to it. You began to tap it as you looked at her expectantly.
She sighed. "Look, he's a hopeless romantic. I know you'll absolutely love him, and he'll be head over heels for you," She informed, finally standing from where she sat.
"Fine . . . I'll go on the date. But only because I trust you. Don't let me down, Nat," You finally conceded to her, which, of course, made a broad smile appear on her face.
"I'd never."
__________
"She'll love you. She already does!" Natasha told him, brushing off the nonexistent dirt on the shoulder of his blue bomber.
Sam was beyond jittery. His stomach was filled with anxiety, and he couldn't stop the negative thoughts from reeling. "I can't do this," He looked down at the floor, not being able to meet his friend's eyes as his shaking hands slipped into his pockets.
"You can save the world, but you can't go on a date with the girl you like? You're full of bologna, Sam," She rolled her eyes, before looking at the way he seemed to genuinely be nervous. She sighed.
Sam shook his head slightly, "It's just . . . maybe you read the signals wrong."
"There's no way," She said exasperatdely, stooping her head to try and find his eyes. He eventually looked over at her. "She likes you. I promise."
"I don't want her to be disappointed, is all," He admitted softly.
__________
You didn't notice Sam until his figure loomed over the table you were sitting at. Your eyes drifted up, and upon seeing him, you filled with both shock and excitement. Your frozen posture didn't last for long as a smile broke out across your face, and you gestured for the nervous looking man to sit.
"Hey," You remarked once he'd taken his place. He tried for a smile, but it didn't quite work, so you carried on, "I should've known that Natasha would try something like this." Your elbow lifted up to rest on the table, and your fingers grazed over your lips in a nervous stupor.
He watched you intently, trying to calm himself, because honestly, this was you. Whenever you spoke, the two of you got on so well, and so easily. He had nothing to be afraid of, especially when your first reaction was a good one.
He tilted his head at you, and let go of all his worries for the rest of the evening. He'd always liked you, and frankly, Natasha made one of his (and your) wildest dreams into a reality.
iv. HE HAS A HORRIBLE DAY
You were secretly really happy to hear a ringing coming from your phone, as absolutely any distraction to get away from your paperwork was needed.
Seeing that it was a video call from Sam, you immediately answered, a smile drifting onto your face at the sight of him wrapped up in bed, head against a white pillow. He had been in an entirely different state for a while, but you knew he'd be coming back soon.
"What's up, baby?" You asked him, resting your head in your hand slightly.
"Nothing . . ." He said, eyebrows drawing together before he admitted, "I just wanted to see your face."
Your heart swelled at his comment, and an empathetic look filled your face. "I get that this sucks. But I'll see you soon, okay? We can cuddle all you want," You told him, and he let out an amused huff.
"I know, I know. I just worry about you; you always overwork yourself when I'm not around," He sighed, shuffling in his sheets, pulling his blanket up towards his neck.
"It distracts me from how much I miss you," You confessed, watching as a look of genuine adour crossed his face.
"I haven't been able to sleep a wink without you. Today sucked," He told you in reply, his hand rubbing over his eye, and then down his cheek. How you longed to be there in bed next to him, to hold his face in your hands, and tell him you loved him. He could sleep with your arms around him.
"You'll be back soon. Everything can go back to normal, then."
"Yeah, I know . . . I love you."
"I love you, too, honey."
v. WHO SHIPS YOU MOST, AND WHY
( steve & natasha )
Sam was one of Steve's best friends, so it made him really happy to see him with someone who fit him so perfectly. Sam had been by his side for so long, and he was so brave and loyal, that Steve felt like the universe had finally rewarded him with something that he'd always wanted; love. He was fond of how much you respected one another, and that you embraced both of Sam's jobs, helping him through his PTSD.
Natasha had been your best friend for years, and although surprising, had never tried to set you up with someone in that entire time. But, when she saw how you and Sam clicked; she couldn't help herself, she wanted you guys together. You made each other happy, and being friends with both of you - that made her kind of proud, and thankful, even.
vi. YOU'RE ON YOUR PERIOD
On your period, you tended to get utterly overwhelmed with stress and emotions. On that particular day, you were in tears, hands over your face as you couldn't keep it in anymore.
"I know it's irrational," Your voice bubbled from behind your hands, hitching before you let out another sob. "I just, I don't know how to handle it all," You admitted, shoulders shaking.
You felt him gently wrap his hands around your wrists, bringing your arms down so that his warm brown eyes could meet your tear-brimmed ones in a comforting gaze. There was something about his stare that made a knot in your chest unwind - finally able to breath deeply again. "(Y/n)," He cooed softly, "You're beautiful, and you're strong, and you're the hardest worker I know. You can get through this. I know you can."
Your lips tilted up as you tried for a weak smile. He seemed to appreciate it, because his hand moved up to hold your face, thumb brushing away a wet trail left behind by tears. You leaned into him.
"How about we come up with a game plan for everything, okay? I'll help you through this, baby," He proposed kindly, a smile crossing his face once you'd nodded your head.

viii. THE SONG THAT DESCRIBES YOUR RELATIONSHIP
Best Part | Daniel Caesar
"You're the coffee that I need in the morning
You're my sunshine in the rain when it's pouring
Won't you give yourself to me
Give it all"
From the start, there was something so natural about you to Sam. You seemed to complete him in a way that no one had come close to before.
It was the simple things, like the way that your hand fit into his, or the way you laughed at all his jokes that even he didn't think were that funny.
It felt so good to talk to you, because you were completely hooked onto each other's words, and could speak for hours without realizing where the time had gone.
He found himself dependant on you in a way that he'd never experienced before. He'd always want you around, or to be around you - and he felt like his day was incomplete without you.
He found himself wanting you so wholly and absolutely.
"Where you go I follow
No matter how far
If life is a movie
Oh you're the best part"
Sam would follow you to the ends of the Earth if it meant being with you, and he knew with all his heart that he meant the same to you.
No matter the cause, or the issue, you'd fight - sometimes quite literally - right by each other's sides. It was so important to the both of you that you'd be together.
He valued you so highly in his life, and he could never live without you. You were truly the sunshine of his life.

x. YOUR BEST FRIEND IN THE AVENGERS
( natasha )
Although you got along with everyone really well, the prize of 'best-friend' status definitely went to Natasha. You'd know Natasha far longer than anyone else, after you'd met at a self-defense class that she was teaching. You immediately became friends, because Natasha was pretty much drawn to you like no one else she'd ever known. Her friendship and insight also helped you to become a manager at the Smithsonian, because you dealt with the heroes section there (you made sure to use all of the best pictures of her in the ridiculously cool 'Black Widow' exhibit).
Second to Natasha, Sam himself was probably your best-friend, too.
