Tactics: Clint Barton
(Requested by marchingwriter . I hope you like it!)
"Agent Barton. I would suggest you take her seriously because... Well, she has a brother, and he'd kill you if she got hurt on your watch."
"And that brother is?" an uninterested sigh came from the voice I could only assume was Clint Barton's.
"Dr. Banner. And he has been near Code Green many times when people haven't been respectful to her, or let her get hurt." Director Fury told him. Bruce was that protective of me, and I was surprised that being a member of the Avengers, Agent Barton didn't know about me.
"Oh, uh, hello Kristen. Clint, this is Miss Banner, you'll be working together since Mrs. Rogers is on maternity leave." (YES I WENT THERE ROMANOGERSSSSSSS)
I stared into his eyes, almost mesmerized that I was working with the Hawkeye.
"Uh... Hi. Hawkeye, you can call me whatever, just don't be insulted if I call you Nat or Wanda, it's been a long time since I've worked with any other women." he held out his toned arm so I could shake his hand, and I did so.
"Kristen Banner." I stammered out, seeing how his light brown hair had an aura about it in the light. "I'm a big fan, honestly. I can't shoot an arrow for my life."
"I could teach you. But anyways," he paused, slightly nodding to Fury before we began walking away. "I've heard you're a sniper?"
"Ah, yes! I'm pretty good, actually, but I'm always worried that I'll miss, even though I never have." He nodded, as if agreeing. I was still unsure what this whole mission was about, until I realized that we were heading to the cargo bay of HQ.
"We're going to Vegas, if you were wondering. They say that no one can see him, so I'm thinking that your shooting and my vision are what they think will work best together."
"Uh, see who?"
"Well, who else would SHIELD be looking for? The Winter Soldier."

I was shaking when the plane landed. My blonde hair was pulled back messily out of my eyes, and I guess Clint had noticed, because halfway through the ride, he rested his hand on my knee, as if saying, it'll be okay.
"We're here. Let's go."
"Right! This is gonna be..." I trailed off. Awful? Miserable? The worst thing I've ever done? Long story short, we found him, sedated him, and now he's back to normal Bucky, if that's even possible. That was nearly six months ago, and after seeing him in action, I've developed a huge crush on Clint.
"Agent Banner." I heard a voice, shaking me out of my thoughts. Director Fury stood, staring at me with a confused look.
"Sorry, what do you need, sir?"
"Agent Barton wanted to talk you, and being the lazy bum he is, he refused to leave the conference room. I suggest taking something for him to eat, he's moody today, at least he was with me."
"Uh... Okay...?" I stood and grabbed the bag of gummy bears I had planned on eating for lunch. I nervously made my way to the conference room, nervous shaking overtaking my whole body. I ran my free hand through my blonde hair, and took a deep breath before walking in.
"Agent Barton? Director Fury said you wanted to talk to me?" I stammered. His blue eyes met my green ones and he gestured for the bag. He ripped it open and started stuffing his face. Ha, he's so cute when he's doing that. I smiled to myself.
"2.0, how many times do I have to tell you? It's Clint." I rolled my eyes. I had started off as K, transformed to Natasha-Oh-Crap-I-Meant-Kristen, then become Natasha 2.0, and then he'd just shortened it to 2.0 and that stuck. But for some reason, it made me smile.
"Well, then, Clint, what did you want?" I asked. He shoved another handful in his mouth before speaking.
"Well, you know how it's been a while since Natasha's been here, right? Basically, she's retiring to stay with Jenna, that little traitor baby."
"Traitor?" I asked. How could a baby be a traitor, especially sweet little Jenna Rogers?
"She was gonna name him after me, then surprise, she comes along as a girl. She wants the baby to be with someone she trusts, and her godfather can't do it- that's me, of course- and Steve certainly can't just stop being Captain America. She has enough time, so she's retiring. And that leaves me without a partner." He paused to shove more gummies in his mouth. "And I was wondering, since we worked so well on the whole Winter Soldier thing I was wondering if maybe... Uh, maybe, you... You could... You and I... What I'm trying to ask, 2.0, is if you're willing, Fury's okayed us working as a team on missions."
Wait, so I was going to replace the Black Widow, and work with Clint? I didn't deserve that... But I guess Fury and Clint thought I did.
"Well, I mean, I'm okay... As long as you're okay... I mean... Uh... Yeah."
He smiled with a mouth full of gummy bears. He swallowed before speaking.
"Great! I'll tell Fury!" he said. I started to head out of the room. "Wait, 2.0!" I turned.
"Well, uh, I... We should discuss plans... Tactics and stuff... Maybe over dinner or something... Or like a bag of gummy bears, but we seriously... Need to talk tactics, yeah." he stammered out, a hint of pink on his cheeks.
"Uh..." I gaped at him.
"I mean... Uh... Dinner, no tactics? Tonight? No tactics, friends, I mean..."
"Are you asking me out?"
"Maybe... And if I was?" he asked.
"Then I would say yes, but I don't know if you're asking me out." I smiled.
"Then I am. Tonight, at seven?"
"Sure. See you then, Clint."
"Bye Kristen." I walked out of the room. Right before I sat down at my desk, I realized.
He actually called me Kristen. I had a smile ear to ear for the rest of the day.
