Romantically: Bucky Barnes

(Written for Timekeeperof1920 ! Hope it's to your liking!)

"Tulsi, Tulsi, Tulsi, guess what? Tulsiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Bucky, my best friend, flittered around, begging me to talk to him.

"Shut up, James."

"But I need to ask you a question! Please please please please please pleeeeeeeeease!" he whined. I looked from the corner of my eye- oh, no he's doing the puppy eyes. Not the puppy eyes, he couldn't do those, if I looked at him much longer... I groaned.

"Alright, what do you want? I need to finish this."

"Yay! So tonight, Steve and I are having our every other Saturday night karaoke and I was wondering if you wanted to come?" he asked. My eyes widened, and my mouth gaped open.

"No. No way, why would you ask me that?! You know I can't sing, Bucky!" I groaned. I leaned on my desk, intertwining my fingers and my dark brown hair.

"Neither can Steve. Except for the National Anthem, he can belt that out." Bucky looked off in thought for a moment.

"No, Bucky. I refuse."

"Tulsiiiiiiiiii... Please? I have a song that we could sing together!" Bucky pleaded, puppy eyes glowing again. No, no, Bucky- OH FINE.

"Okay, okay. Pick me up around seven. Now shoo." I waved him away, and he gave me a big squeeze before running off.

"So this is what you do every other Saturday? It's... Fun. Ish." I smiled at my best friends from across the table. We had had a few drinks, and sang nearly a million songs.

"Last one for the night? It's nearly 11:30." Steve suggested. I nodded, and Bucky smiled mischievously. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up to stage, with many protests. I hadn't really been paying attention to when the boys were singing, I had gotten a little tipsy. But when Bucky started singing... It was heaven.

"Desperate for changing, starving for truth. I'm closer to where I started, I'm chasing after you. I'm falling even more in love with you- Letting go of all I've held on to. I'm standing here until you make me move, I'm hanging by a moment here with you." I stared in awe for a second before I started quietly singing.

"Forgetting all I'm lacking, completely incomplete I'll take your invitation, you take all of me. Now I'm falling even more in love with you- Letting go of all I've held on to. I'm standing here until you make me move, I'm hanging by a moment here with you." And then we started together.

"I'm living for the only thing I know
I'm running and not quite sure where to go. And I don't know what I'm diving into- Just hanging by a moment here with you. Desperate for changing, starving for truth. I'm closer to where I started, I'm chasing after you. I'm falling even more in love with you- Letting go of all I've held on to. I'm standing here until you make me move, I'm hanging by a moment here with you. I'm living for the only thing I know. I'm running and not quite sure where to go. And I don't know what I'm diving into, Just hanging by a moment here with you."

My dark brown eyes met his, and I wrapped my arms around him. We stayed like that for awhile, until Steve tapped on my shoulder.

"12:00. I'd like to be getting some sleep tonight, so I'll be going. See you tomorrow." he smiled. Bucky waved, and we watched Steve walk out.

"Did you choose that yourself?" I asked him with a huge dopey grin, which was nothing like my shy, darker, scared self.

"Yeah. I knew you'd like it. Shall we?" he took my hand, going to lead me out of the bar. I took it, some of me terrified, some of me excited. We walked out, and I started heading to his car, but he pulled me away.

"Let's take a walk, it's so nice out. I can get my car tomorrow morning. I've got connections with the guy who owns the place." he suggested. I nodded hesitantly.

He grabbed for my hand and I pulled away by instinct. He then got on my right side and intertwined his metal fingers with mine. I was shocked- he hated his arm, and he'd never purposely do something with it. We began walking in the general direction of my apartment.

"I'm so glad I met you, you know? You really turned my life around... And got rid of him." he said, referring to Winter.

"Don't think about him right now. It's just us, okay? Just us. Just us."

We walked in silence for a while, and I figured we were nearly at my apartment when he stopped me. He grabbed both my hands and nervously started rubbing the right one.

"Hey, what's wrong? You never act like this. Buck, you're my best friend, I want to know if you're okay." I pressed.

"I'm fine." he said shortly, voice nearly cracking.

"Don't you lie to me, James Buchanan Barnes. What's wrong?"

"I think I love you." he blurted. I smiled.

"I love you too. You've known that for a long time Bucky, and I've known you love me. What's really wrong, Buckster?" I wiped the smile off my face. Concern flowed through every vein in my body.

"No, not like that. I mean, I love you. Romantically." he stuttered. Oh, well,  that was new. And yet I found myself... Happy. No, it was something more, not just happiness.

"I..." I trailed off. What could I say? My thoughts were interrupted as his warm lips collided slowly with mine. It was a passion-filled kiss, and I quickly returned it.

I pulled away, and whispered, "I love you too. Romantically."

(Awwwwwwwwww the cuteness. Sorry if it had too many lyrics, I just really love that song. LIFEHOUSEEEEE for the win! But seriously guys, I woke up this morning... TO 66 NOTIFICATIONS. What. WHAT. Much love to you all, and just a reminder; REQUESTS ARE CLOSED.)
