//(F/F/N) stands for (female) friend's name and (Y/L/N) stands for your last name... in case you didn't know! Clint's is sooooo long... idk what happened! Also, at the end of this chapter, I'll tell you a bit about the next 4 boys' chapter, just 'cuz.
Tony:
You and your best friend decided to catch up and go out to a fancy lunch. You made sure to let Tony know, because sometimes he gets anxious when he doesn't know where you're at.
Hey, I'm going out to lunch with (F/F/N) today... just so you know where I'm at :)
He doesn't text you back, so you shrug it off and get in your car, driving off to the restaurant. Once you get out you see your friend pull in right next to you and hop out.
"Hey! I missed you so much!" you cheer, running over and giving her a hug.
"I missed you too! So, what do you say we get in there and eat?" she questions.
"YES!" You nod your head with a smile. She hasn't changed at all: still in mad love with food. The two of you make your way towards the building and enter.
"Reservation for two. It should be under (Y/L/N)," you instruct.
"Right this way," the man says before escorting you both to your table, one right in the middle of the restaurant. The place is surprisingly crowded for lunch on a weekday, but it doesn't matter. The two of you can be civilized when needed.
"Hi. My name is Sean and I'll be your waiter this afternoon. Can I start you two out with any drinks? Maybe lemonade, coke products, tea, water, alcoholic drinks?" Sean asks. You and your friend glance at each other.
"I'll have an iced tea please," you request, taking your menu and opening it up.
"And I'll have a lemonade."
"Okay I'll give you a minute to look at your menus and then I'll be back with your drinks," Sean informs, before walking away.
"What are you planning on getting? Soup, salad, something bigger?" your friend asks.
"Probably just soup. I'll just fill up with the bread on the table as well," you mention, looking at the menu. Suddenly, Sean is back with both of the drinks, handing them to each of you.
"Now what can I get you to eat?" he asks, taking out his little book to write the orders on.
"I'll have the wedding soup please," you state, closing up your menu and handing it to him.
"I'll have the specialty salad. No olives though," (F/F/N) requests handing in her menu as well.
"Alright, I'll get that out to you two lovely ladies as soon as possible."
The two of you sit in silence for a while; taking sips of your drinks and glancing at your phones, listening to the chatter of all the nearby people until your friend breaks the silence. "That dude's pretty cute, and he seemed pretty into you. Maybe you should ask him out." she suggests. Apparently you haven't seen her in very long because she never learned about Tony being your boyfriend.
"Yeah sure," you start sarcastically, "what would I say? Oh Sean, I know you're just my waiter, but I want to be something more than that. You're super attractive and nice. Why have my boyfriend Tony when I could have you? He'd never have to know," you joke, making sure she heard that you have a boyfriend.
"I didn't realize that you had a-"
"(Y/N)," someone says, grabbing your shoulder, practically spinning you around in your seat, "is there something you want to tell me?"
It's Tony.
Steve:
Your cousin, Stan, had just come into NYC for the weekend for work, but the meeting only took a few hours, so the rest of the time he could hang out with you for! The two of you had always been super close, living right across the street from each other during your childhood so it was good to see him.
"I'm going to the Statue of Liberty, then I wanna go check out Central Park," Stan explained to you over the phone. You were just driving home from hanging out with Steve.
"Oh, well how about I take you and show you around? I would explain the deep, rich history of the whole place, but you know how bad I am at history. At least you won't get lost that way, and you won't have to take the subway or a cab," you offer, turning around to drive to his hotel.
"That would be great!" He exclaims, "would you mind picking me up soon?"
"I'm on my way right now! I'll see you in a few minutes!" you tell him before hanging up the phone. You make your way through the bit of traffic and over to the hotel. Almost immediately, Stan sees you and opens up the passenger's seat of the car, getting in.
"Hey! I'm so excited to go over and see the Statue!" Stan greets, buckling up his seatbelt [stay safe, kids]. You drive over to the parking lot by the dock where you get on the boat. The two of you have to make your way through the outdoor security section, but finally you are allowed to board. You sit up in the outside area of the boat, that way he'll be able to get the first sights of the Statue of Liberty.
"There it is!" you shout, trying to be heard over the waves. You point in the direction, watching him marvel over the grandness. You both travel up to the inside of the statue (only to the pedestal) and take tons of pictures. This was your third time going to the statue, but it was still amazing to look at and the city glimmering in the distance was always a marvelous sight.
"I wonder if Steve has ever been up here" you wonder. "I'll have to take him sometime."
You both head back, driving over to Central Park, one of your favorite places to hang out and think. It's such a relaxing place, and it's so beautiful.
"I love this park. It's so serene and lovely. It's a nice little place to think," you explain, strolling around on the path of the park.
"Here, it's kind of chilly. You can have my coat if you want," Stan offers. He was always sweet like that: an older brother figure for you. You also fought a lot, making you seem a lot like siblings. You grinned and stole the jacket from him, putting it on before sitting down on a bench.
~~~~~~~~
Steve Rogers was making just another one of his doodles on his notepad. He loved Central Park for this very reason: it was so quiet and a great place to just think and draw.
He'd sketched tons of different pictures of things in the park: mostly things that reminded him of (Y/N). He really cared for her. Would he ever show her the pictures? Maybe, but maybe not. He was never quite confident of his drawing abilities.
Two days ago it was a picture of a strong, tall tree. It reminded him of how headstrong and steady she was. Yesterday it was a picture of ducks and ducklings on a pond. Could he imagine having a family with (Y/N)? Yes. It might be too early to think about that, maybe too 40's of him, but he didn't care. He really cared for her. Today it was a picture of a cute couple sitting a bit in front of him on a bench. They seemed very comfortable with each other, but not too PDA, just like him and (Y/N).
After finishing the last stroke to perfect the strands of hair in her ponytail, he closes his book and starts walking in their direction to go back to his motorcycle and head home. Before walking past he takes one last glance at them, the man with the blue shirt and the girl wearing his hoodie, her head rested on his shoulder.
He knows her beautiful (Y/E/C) eyes. The way her hair hangs by her face. Her smile. It's his girl. His (Y/N).
[YOUR BUCKY I CAN'T]
"(Y-Y/N)? Wh-what's going on?" he asks, dropping his notepad to the floor.
Clint:
"Agent (Y/L/N), I have a new mission for you. Let's head over to the conference room for a quick briefing," Fury instructs. You couldn't help but beam with pride. You had only been a SHIELD agent for a while and had already been on multiple missions, most of them with Clint, of course. You also already gained the clearance to know of Fury being alive, it was pretty exciting.
Maybe smiling wasn't professional for an agent, but you didn't really care. One thing that was new, though, was that Fury usually just gave a packet to explain your mission, not a whole meeting session. You followed him, still in thoughts, and entered the conference room, taking a seat across from him.
"We need you to go on a mission down in Atlanta. It appears that a new HYDRA headquarters might have sprouted there. More specifically, in this building," Fury explains, pointing to a picture of a giant, sleek, black tower.
"They're not exactly laying low," you point out, taking note of the in-your-face size.
"They might just have tons of troops and weapons, believing that they're stronger than us," he enlightens, still in his serious tone.
"But, they aren't, right?" you trail off. Maybe this isn't the type of mission a "newbie" should be on. Sure you proved your worth, but... you aren't sure this is your type of mission.
"I'm sending you on this mission with Agent Barton, you two seem to work well together, and also Agent Parks. They're newer around here, so hopefully you can show him the ropes," he mentions, avoiding your question completely.
"Sounds good. I'm assuming we're invading through one of the windows, grab some info, shoot who we have to, then get out?" You ask, studying the picture of the building.
"I knew you'd be the one for the job," he says, getting up; you join him in this, making your way to the door.
"Oh, and (Y/N)," he adds, causing you to stop in your tracks, "keep an eye on Parks. He might be HYDRA, but we aren't sure. Call it your little sub-mission. Your sub-mission, not Barton's."
You nod gingerly before leaving. How could you lie to Clint?
"It's not lying," you think, "it's just not telling the whole truth."
After that, you finish up some of your work and head home to pack up your stuff. You're leaving tomorrow. Suddenly, you heard your phone ring. Seeing it was Clint, you picked it up.
"Hey Hotshot," you greet with a smirk.
"Looks like we're going on another mission together tomorrow. How about I just pick you up and take you there?" He proposes. You pace around your room. It's so hard not to say anything.
"Alrighty. We have the mission with the Agent Parks, he's new, right?" you ask, mentally hitting yourself for mentioning him.
"Yeah. Looks like we'll have a little third wheel on our mini-vacation," he jokes, making you feel even worse. You'll be too busy watching Parks to hang out with him.
"Hey I'm really tired, so I'm gonna go to bed okay? I'll see you tomorrow," you fib, a lump forming in your throat from guilt.
"Okay. Sweet dreams, Beautiful," he wishes, making your eyes tear up from feeling bad. You hang up abruptly after that, knowing you would be unable to form words if you tried. Hopping into bed, you know you can't sleep, but might as well try. Eventually, though, you do drift off.
Your alarm clock wakes you up, blaring in your ears. Looks like it's 5:30: time to get up and ready for this mission. You half-asleep get dressed and brush your teeth, throwing two more outfits and a hairbrush in your bag.
You drowsily make your way outside, sending out a small smile when you see Clint in his car (luckily not his motorcycle). He practically leaps out of the car, running over to the passenger's side and opening the door for you. You climb in, grinning at him.
"You're too sweet," you comment, making him smile, beginning to drive over to SHIELD.
"How was your sleep last night, darling?" he asks, making you blush slightly. He's so chivalrous and caring, you're nothing but a dirty liar.
Your eyelids feel heavy with the light rocking of the car and the slight hum of the motor. "Pretty good, but I think I might just close my eyes for just a second if that's alright with you..." you offer, shutting your eyes.
~~
You open your eyes to a bright light. You're... you have no clue where you are. You glance around, totally confused.
A man in a chair next to you looks over at you. "We're on the jet, going over to Atlanta now." He must be the infamous Agent Parks.
"So you must be Agent Parks? I'm Agent (Y/F/N) (Y/L/N)," you introduce, shaking his hand (but staying in your seat still).
"That's right. It's a pleasure to meet you. Looks like we'll be kicking some HYDRA butt together," he smiles, adjusting himself slightly in his seat. This guy seems fine to you, not very HYDRA-like to you.
"Clint, you could have woken me up, y'know. You didn't need to be so nice," you say, raising your voice so he can hear you up at the front.
"It's fine. I only dropped you... once," he jokes, "but if anyone asks, I never dropped you."
You fill the awkward silence with small talk, learning more about Parks: his hobbies, favorite color, family, anything that might be of use. Finally you guys arrive at some random landing sight, getting out and straight into a car waiting for you.
"I can drive Clint, you've done enough," you offer, "oh Parks, you can sit up here with me," you offer, wanting him to study him more. He gets into the seat beside you, and you speed off. The whole ride is silent, you glancing at Agent Parks every once in a while.
Finally you drive to the location scribbled onto a post-it note: 433 5th Street, Atlanta, GA. It seems to be a hotel. That's a good point, just in case this agent ends out being HYDRA, it wouldn't be a good idea to stay in a SHIELD headquarters.
You unbuckle your seatbelt after parking and get out. The boys seem to follow you immediately into the building. You step up to the front desk.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" the lady at the front asks. Both boys look like deer caught in headlights, but luckily, unlike them, you read the whole post-it note, including everything you were supposed to say to get your room.
"Do you know any good places to buy umbrellas?" you say, repeating the code on the note. She smiles and nods, giving you a card with the room number, 303, on it. You leave both boys behind you, going upstairs to your room, getting dressed in your pajamas, and unpacking your few items.
Once they finally do get up to the room, you speak. "Do you guys want me to call down and ask for another pull-away bed?" You question, noting the fact that there were 3 people and 2 beds.
"Let's just share one, Beautiful. I'm too tired..." he groans, faking tired. You shake your head.
"Alright," you agree, getting into the bed on the left side, "but I'm sleeping here," you decide, pointing to the right half of the bed. That way you'll be closer Agent Parks to keep an eye on him at night.
"I'm going to take shower," Parks says, getting up and heading to the bathroom. Clint sits down on the edge of the bed, practically having a stare-down with you. You can't tell if he's mad or not.
"I'm sleeping on that side," he demands, gently attempting to push you over, but you hold your ground... or uhm, bed.
"But then I'm too close to the air conditioner," you whine, quickly making up an excuse. You can't let him know that you've been lying.
"Then you can sleep on the right side. If we switch beds with Parks that is," he enforces. You sit up, looking at him.
"That's not fair! Maybe I just want to sleep on the right side of this god damn bed Clint!" you shout, not caring about anyone hearing you.
"Why? So you can switch beds halfway through the night? How long have you been seeing him!?" he yells back, scaring you a bit.
"H-how long have I been seeing who?" you stutter out, confused, scared, and still quite angry.
"Agent Parks! You two have been hooking up haven't you?"
