Loki remembered you as you walked down that aisle. He remembered your dress, makeup, hair, everything. He could still quote the vows he promised you the day the two of you became one.

It was a snowy December afternoon two years ago. The weather had put the wedding off until now; snow storms blocking any and all possibilities of an earlier wedding. It was five thirty in the evening when you had finally started.

Nerves crawled up and down your spine while you stood behind that oak door which separated you from your future.

A hand grabbed yours. You jumped, being pulled from your thoughts, but relaxed when you saw that it was Steve. He was your best friend, and your 'man of honor.'

"Everything will be alright (Y/N). Before you is your future. Please don't back out now." He had said. His words calmed you as you looked to the door again, pondering the words and taking them to heart.

Beside you on your other side was Tony. He was always like a father to you, which is why he was the one to give you away. Your family wasn't all that present in your life. It was Tony who taught you that a father could be loving and kind. Never once did he doubt Loki's love for you as strange as it may seem. You were happy and he knew if Loki ever screwed up, there would be hell to pay.

Seconds later the music started up and the door opened. Tears were already falling down your face as you looked to Loki and walked up to your future...

It was months later when you had adopted your little daughter. Unable to have kids, you and Loki decided that adopting was your best option. The discovery hurt you greatly, but it gave you the chance to meet your daughter Star. Her full name was Starina Allelia Laufeyson. She was the pride and joy to you and Loki. Both of you couldn't ask for anything better.

Looking back now, Loki found tears on his face as he sat in the cold chair in the cold building he had been in for the past two hours. Star was asleep on his lap, unaware yet of why she was here.

Loki thought as he looked to the front of the room, thinking about the song that was playing when he met you. The same song he sang at your wedding, and the same song that was repeating in his mind. It made him sick to his stomach to know he had let you down.

Seasons are changing and waves are crashing and

November 4 2017. That god damn day. That god damned mission.

Everyone was exhausted when the mission had finally come to an end. It was over. The prisoners had been saved, and every enemy had been eliminated.

You were all sluggishly headed back through the forest to the jet. With the thought that every HYDRA agent within the area had been killed, the Avengers had made their way back to the jet relatively slowly and less carefully than before. That was the down fall.

Unexpected bullets went flying and you immediately went to fight by Steve's side. Knowing Loki could handle himself, you went to help your super soldier friend, deciding to keep a close eye on your husband instead of fighting with him.

There's where everything went wrong.

You were fighting off an agent when you saw another enemy sneaking up on Loki. Odd. He should have noticed by now.

Then you really looked at the picture. Loki wasn't moving. Paralyzed? No, Nat didn't hit him. She was in another part of the fight and nothing else would do that to him unless HYDRA had that material. You didn't know what was wrong, but you knew something was.

"THOR! Can you cover me for a minute? Something's wrong with Loki!" You had yelled. Thor had gladly taken over your place so you could find out what was wrong with Loki.

By now he was further away from you than before. Was he trapped? Were they kidnapping him? It didn't matter. Someone was hurting him and that didn't fly with you.

What really set you off was the gun pointed at the back of his head.

You took off running for him, only just hearing the second agent, who was without a gun, talk to Loki beforehand.

"You make one sound and we'll shoot your pretty little brain out." The agent had snarled with a smirk on her face.

Instead of abiding by her request and threat, Loki let out a screech that tore your heart in two. He knew you were coming for him.

You only had time to run between Loki and the bullet from your hiding place before they shot. The agent with the gun pulled the trigger and you felt a pain greater than any in your chest.

The agents fled the scene, not wanting to be caught. They let Loki free and he fell to your side.

"Thank you darling.....darling? Oh. No. No. No. Not like this. Not today. Please. You can't leave me yet. You can't leave Star." After not hearing a response he asked your name again and turned around to see you laying in your own blood. He pleaded to you and everything he ever believed in.

"(Y/N)?" Loki's voice shook seeing you laying there almost dead.

"Loki?" Your voice was weak and dying. You were almost gone and you both knew it.

"Yes dear, it's me." Loki answered, trying to hold back his sobs and tears.

"Sing me something."

"What?" Loki's voice was barely a whisper.

"Please sing something to me." You managed to cough out, as weak as you were.

"Cause you're my

When Loki finished he looked down to you to see your eyes closed and your heart stopped.

"I love you darling. I'll see you soon." Loki cried onto your body when the Avengers finally came to see what happened. When they saw Loki cradling your body in his lap with tears spilling from his eyes and drops on your shirt, they knew what had happened.

"I'm so sorry Loki." Tony tired to comfort in his wavering voice while his own tears failed to stay away. This girl who was like his daughter had died today. It wasn't exactly easy to stop himself from crying.

"I'll find them. I'll kill every single one of them." Loki stated as he looked up to nothing in particular. The vengeance and anger in his voice struck fear into every Avenger while Loki picked up your body and carried it back to the jet.

As Loki sat on the chair with Star on his lap, he realized something. Nothing would happen to her. No one would ever hurt his daughter. He couldn't save his wife; his other half, but he could do his damnedest to save is daughter. And thats just what he would do. No matter what.

Star stirred on Loki's lap and looked up to him. The three-year-old's chocolatey skin and tired eyes paired with her poofy black hair was the most adorable sight. He needed something like this right now.

She looked up to her adoptive dad with wide and curious eyes.

"Daddy? Is mommy coming home today?" She asked with happiness at the thought of seeing her mother again.

"I'm afraid not Star. She's actually going home today. But one day we will both join her. It may take a while, but we will see mommy again. I promise." Loki said as he looked to your coffin once more. He stood from his chair and took Star's hand, walking up to your body.

Loki placed a kiss on your forehead before picking up Star and letting her say her goodbyes.

"I promise you love, I'll see you someday soon. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but someday we will be together again in the halls of Valhalla." Loki whispered as he placed one last kiss on your lips before turning away with Star in his arms.

It would be hard, damn near impossible, but one way or another, Loki would live on for you and raise Star for you. Nothing would ever happen to her. He would save her even if it meant going to Valhalla.
