Pepper was worried.

Now, I know what you're thinking, Pepper Potts, CEO of Stark Industries, worried?

It was pretty common.

Whenever Tony went on missions she was worried, and whenever Peter was out patrolling she was worried, but now that both her husband and son were in space, fighting Thanos, she couldn't help but pace her office.

Happy stood by the door with two other men, she knew it was pointless if anything went wrong, but it made Tony feel better and she wasn't going to give him another thing to worry about.

She heard a sound, a low rumble that seemed to come from nowhere, and then a thick, horrible silence hung in the air as she turned to the three men at the door.

But she only saw two men.

Happy was staring blankly at a pile of dust, and she knew it was the third agent.

She stopped pacing suddenly, and Happy looked up at her in shock. A flash of sadness came over his face, but he grew more concerned.

"Pepper! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine..."
Her voice was shaking slightly, and she stared at the dust on the ground.

"What, What happened?"
She asked, tearing her eyes away from the ash and to Happy.

His mouth opened to form words, but he couldn't. She glanced at the ceiling,

"Friday? What just happened?"

"It seems about 50% of all lifeforms have been turned to dust."

Pepper's eyes widened, and her jaw hung open as she stared out the window. All across the city a dark cloud was being swept up by the wind.

That cloud was made of people.

She was forced to wait anxiously for the team to get back. She needed to see Tony, she needed to see Peter.

She needed to see her family.

She stared anxiously at the ship as it landed, and when the doors opened and the steps were down, she rushed over to greet the heroes.

She shook with anticipation, and threw herself at her husband when she saw him safe. He hugged her harder, and She felt a small wave of panic not seeing her son.

A silence hung over the group as Pepper pulled back.

"Peter...?"
She asked quietly, her voice carried over the entire plane terminal, and everything remained still, silent, and dead around her.

Tony looked down, and she stepped back, the force hit her like a wave, and she collapsed to her knees. A heartbroken scream filled New York, the entire world waiting to see what was next.

Pepper remained on the ground, her sobs wracking her body as Tony tried to help, but ended up crying with her.

The avengers silently walked out, unable to see two grieving parents at their weakest.
