"18...19...20! Ready or not, here I come!"
The loud yell was quickly followed by a small but steady pounding as Morgan ran off of the porch.
Peter could see her from his hiding place, he could see Tony too. Sitting on a chair and drinking iced tea. His arm and side bandaged but on the way to recovery.
That one single snap had almost killed Tony, it had burned him inside and out. But he was saved. Peter still was confused on how, but he wasn't going to question it.
"I found you! Come down!"
Peter grinned at her high voice.
"You have to come up here and get me!"
She stomped and pouted, staring up at the small tree Peter was sitting in.
"That's not fair! You're part spider!"
"I bet non spiders can get up here too, wanna find out together?"
She smiled and nodded eagerly, her hair bouncing around her face. Peter's grin split his face and he slid down the tree.
"Here, grab my hand. Then I'll help you climb like a spider girl!"
She giggled and took his hand. He then slowly walked backwards and pulled her up the tree with him.
"See?! You're doing it Morgan! Look how high you are!"
She screamed with delight, he feet propped on a branch and her hands in Peter's. She was sideways just like him, and together they kept walking until they reached a sturdy branch.
Peter helped her sit down, then fastened a small web to her torso to act as a failsafe. She giggled and played with some of the web, then threw it at a nearby tree. It missed by a few inches, but Peter couldn't help but grin.
"Oh yeah! Look at that! You're better then me! And I'm the spider here! That was awesome Morgan!"
"I'm going to replace both you and dad!"
She laughed, and Peter smiled hugely.
"You sure are! I bet he'd be so impressed by your throw! Let's show him, yeah?"
"Yes!"
"Mr. Stark! Look over here!"
Tony quickly glanced up from his tablet, and almost had a heart attack when he saw his daughter way up in a tree. But after seeing the webbing and Peter's smiling face, he soon realized what was happening and smiled back.
"Watch her throw, Mr. Stark! She's gonna replace both of us!"
Peter screamed, his voice echoing off the wide expanse of forest all around them.
He then handed Morgan a small ball of his webs and leaned back, allowing Tony to see her fully.
She took a second to aim her throw, then flung the ball as hard as she could. It landed against a tree with a thwack, and they all shouted in delight.
"YES! Morgan, That was SO awesome!"
Peter yelled, pulling her into a hug and undoing her safety webs. He then lifted her up over his head and smiled at Mr. Stark.
"Did you see Mr. Stark?! Wasn't it so cool!"
Peter started walking down the tree, holding Morgan close to his chest just in case. She was smiling and laughing happily. And when they got to the ground, she took off running over to Tony.
"Did you see dad? Peter says I'm going to replace both of you! I could be a mix!"
Tony smiled widely and hoisted up his daughter to sit next to him.
"I sure did honey, you're going to be a great superhero! Better then even your mother!"
She laughed again and hugged him, hiding her face in his old Led Zeppelin shirt.
"You told me no one could beat mommy when she was a superhero."
"Well, I must have misspoken, because you could obviously beat her! You're already better then both Peter and I, which means your mother wouldn't stand a chance!"
She giggled and looked up, just in time to see Peter bringing out her favorite cup with a pink straw and umbrella.
"Here you go, milady!"
He bowed, making her laugh and him smile.
"Thank you!"
She squealed, sipping the apple juice.
Peter smiled and sat down against the railing, facing Tony and Morgan. He offered a small smile to Tony and then entertained himself by playing with a flower petal.
Tony hadn't stopped smiling. His two favorite kids were next to him, he was settled down and happily married to Pepper. Life was going well.
"I love you two."
He said, both his smile and his eyes showing only happiness and love.
Morgan laughed, and kept sipping her juice.
"I know dad, I love you three thousand."
Peter seemed slightly more shocked, but was soon smiling up at Tony with so much happiness in his eyes that Tony thought his heart would burst.
"I love you too, Mr, Stark."
The porch was filled with a warm silence as the words floated in the air. Tony couldn't believe how much he'd grown to love the annoying teenager with spider powers. And he couldn't believe how much he'd changed to be able to have a child of his own.
Morgan cast a look at Peter, it was met with confusion, but after she gave him a stare worthy of Pepper, he quickly tried to fix his mistake.
"And I love you too, Morgan!"
