-Sorry that I haven't posted in a few weeks. At first I was on holiday and then when I went to post this chapter Wattpad had deleted it. I realised I'd saved it on another platform and it took me a while to find it. But I've also had some family problems and a lot of pressure from school.-
Karma is a lone wonderer. She keeps to herself and strays in the shadows, or at least she used to. Fury found her and offered her a place on the Avengers, he gave her an opportunity to become the person she wants to be; to live a life where she isn't defined by her mistakes. Karma simply can't believe that he trusts her; even after he finds out that she has control issues.
~~~~~
When they met, Clint fell for Karma instantly. She was 'the physical embodiment of perfection' in his eyes, but she refused to get anywhere close to him - to anyone. She continued to be a mystery to everyone she came across. This is what Karma deemed best. Besides, who would want to get close to a monster?
~~~~~
Karma wanted to get close to Clint, she thought he was funny and he refused to treat her any different from everyone else, but she didn't want to fall in love because she couldn't get anywhere close to him. She didn't want to destroy him like she destroyed everything she came across; Karma intended to keep her lust for him a secret. She kept her mouth closed.
~~~~~
A few months after joining the Avengers, they'd recovered a few stolen relics, one of them being an ancient vase with intricate markings carved throughout the design. When transporting the artefacts; Karma, being the clumsy idiot she is, accidentally broke the vase, releasing an extremely angry force into the world. A force that took control of Karma's entire body, mind - and powers.
It doesn't take long for this force to gain control of the majority of the Avengers.
~~~~~
"Why're are you doing this Karma?" Wanda's face is that of betrayal as Karma's boy finishes locking them all in the Hulk proof cage.
"I'm not," Karma's voice is only a faint whisper in her own mind. Her body smirks.
"Because I can," her voice is confident, something that Karma has never been and never will be.
"You won't get away with this," Steve's voice is deeper than usual and his face sports a hard glare directed at Karma.
"Please. Please don't look at me like that," Karma screams into the dark abyss that her mind consists of.
"Won't I?" Karma can feel the tug of her lips as they curl into a sticky-sweet smile.
"Clint may be an idiot but he'll figure it out when he gets back," Tony says turning in her direction, his stance one that's ready for battle.
Karmas body just laughs, she's already figured out that Clint's listening to every word that comes out of their mouths. Her body smoothly glides towards the glass with an impressive amount of elegance.
"Do you think that idiot will ever be able to stop me?" Karma's hands fold neatly across her chest.
Clint watches as Karma continues to hurt him emotionally. He thought she was absolutely amazing but he was obviously wrong. It's a quick decision. An arrow through the spine, Clint knows he can't kill her so he settles for paralyzing her from the waist down. He takes a deep breath a pulls an arrow out of his sheaf. He places it, pulls the string back, aims and as he's about to release it he closes his eyes. He can't watch what he's about to do to Karma. He can't keep that image in his mind.
Karma body hits the floor almost instantly, the pain mixing with the relief of release; her body quickly emits a dark fog and creates a beautiful woman who stands directly next to Karma.
"Humans, so... predictable." She smiles as Clint comes out of the shadows. His face is unreadable but his eyes show that he completely regrets what he just did.
"I don't understand," Clint's voice is hard - like steal.
"This bitch," the woman gestures to Karma who has her hand pressing down where the arrow comes through her torso; her breathing is uneven, "knocked over a marvellous vase, my perfect prison, and set me free. I just needed a body until mine became strong again. She was the best body I've ever had; all warm and tingly inside."
"Then why try to kill us?" Steve asks slowly.
"She thought it would be fun," everyone's eyes went to Karma as she spoke up; her words filled with pain.
"If you'll excuse me, I'll be off." Just like that her body became a thick smoke again and defused in the air.
Clint hit the button for the door as he ran to Karma's side.
"Karm I am so sorry," Clint's voice wavers as he picks her up. A slight hiss came out of her mouth as her position changed.
"You had to do it." Karma buried her head in Clint's neck, "if you hadn't I would've lost myself." Karma's breaths are shallow, Clint worries that she may actually die; that his careful calculations are off. Karma closes her eyes as she cuddles closer into Clint's neck. He places a soft kiss on the top of her head and his eyes go to his team - his family. The look he gives them is a silent plea; his family are all happy to help him.
"Don't worry Karma, we're gonna' get you help."
