Ok so virtually everyone knows who SHIELD is and Natasha Romanov, the agents even know who the Calvary is right but no one knows who Clint Barton is he's just another agent no one took an interest in. Everyone knows about the ghost. No one knows who the ghost is they've only heard the stories. Some people think it's Coulson others think it's Fury but what if it's Clint Barton, the agent who no one took a particular interest in until they found out he was an avenger. Not even Natasha knew, only Coulson and Fury.

That's why Clint was scared when he got a call from Phil, he knew Phil was alive but he also knew that Phil would never contact him unless it was a hard op and more importantly he would never call this phone unless it was an impossible op that not even Natasha could handle.

"Phil, why are you calling" Barton hisses over the line "I need your help" Phil sounds desperate "send me coordinates" he tells Phil. A minute later the phone beeps and he groans "I'll be there in an hour, tell agent Koenig I don't have my lanyard" Clint hangs up and grabs his bag.

He's going through the lounge when he gets stopped "where are you going" it's Tony "classified" he says shoving past Tony. The classified part catches everyone else's attention. "SHIELD doesn't exist so nothing is classified" Bruce points out "while this is something that only two other people know about so move or I will move you because I have a time frame" Clint states clearly and that's enough for Natasha to know it's serious.

"Clint, what's this about" she asks obviously more scared for Clint than curious which makes Tony back off "I don't like lying to you Nat, so please don't ask" he says and Nat nods. "be safe" he nods kissing her head before continuing to his bike.

He gets to the base and quickly changes into his suit that covers his face.

"Coulson, good to see you alive and well" Clint says to alert everyone of his presence "who's this" a girl with dark brown hair holding a computer asks. "This is The Ghost" Coulson replies and he hears gasps from everyone but May "who is everyone" Clint asks "this is Fitz-Simmons, they're are scientists" Phil says pointing at the two "this is Ward, he along with agent May who I assume you remember, is our specialist" he points at Ward "and this is Skye she's a hacker, she hacked SHIELD and is now our tech girl" Coulson says pointing to the girl who addressed Clint earlier.

"Who exactly is The Ghost" Skye asks "hes like the Calvary, except he goes on impossible ops and is never seen on camera and no one knows his real name" Simmons says amazed "oh how rude of me, hello sir, it's an honour to meet you, if your up for it I would like to run some tests on you" Simmons says before Fitz is whispering in her ear "we can do some tests but I will not be touched nor will any of my blood be drawn" Clint tells them and Simmons looks like she's about to start jumping up and down "if it's alright with you I would like to make you a suit of better material" Fitz says "no" Clint answers sharply.

"So your the ghost" May asks "who else would it be" Clint asks "someone more capable" May says and Fitz-Simmons along with Ward all looked shocked "I'm sure you've seen the tapes and know I'm more than capable" Clint answers. This is how Clint and May operate with each other they take jabs and it usually leads to a friendly fight which May always used to win.

"Alright you two, that's enough, I have a mission for all of us, there's no extraction team so if you don't want to do this say now" Phil tells them, no one does. "Alright, we're trying to steal this back from the US government" Phil says bringing up a picture of a random machine that Clint has no clue what it does. "One question before we start, what is 'this'" Clint asks "it's gravitoniom, it will destroy earth if it is not gotten rid of" Phil states "than why am I here" Clint questions "it's at a hydra base that has over 1,000 guards and we only have three people on the bus who know how to fight and May is injured" Phil states "so you want me to take out the guards and retrieve it" Clint asks "yes, ward will have your six and I'll be there with you-" Phil starts "no, you will be on the bus unless I say otherwise, the only way we do this is if you and everyone is on the bus while I take out the guards" Clint says.

"Do I have to call her and tell her" Phil asks "she would do the same thing and you know it" Clint grits out "she would but she would also have you to cover her six" Phil reminds "I don't trust anyone on this bus other than May and you so I go in alone and than your people can come in" Clint says "fine, but you stay on coms with me the whole time" Phil agrees and Clint nods.

Coulson explains the plan and leads Clint to his office. "How are you" Clint asks taking his hood down and staying out of the view of the cameras and windows. "Alive, I wouldn't have called if I didn't need you" Phil says "I know" Clint murmurs as Phil walks over and hugs him "I've missed you" Phil whispers and Clint nods in agreement and pulls back when he hears footsteps outside of Phil office and pulls up his hood.

"A.C" Skye says as she walks in and Clint gives Phil a calculating look "Ghost" she nods in acknowledgement "we are five hours out" Phil nods "nice to see you sir, I'm gonna go find some decent coffee" Clint tells him and Phil chuckles.

Clint arrives to the bunk and hears talking so he walks up to the bunk "yes Garret, they have the Ghost aboard the plane, I'm gonna take the Ghost when we have the gravitonium" Ward, Clint thinks so he opens the bunk door and grabs Wards arm and grabs the phone "you will be dead Garret" Clint hangs up and crushes the Phone "Fitz-Simmons" Clint calls and he hears the rushing of their feet "yes Ghost sir" Simmons asked "show me to interrogation and than bring May to me" he says all to calm for Wards liking "oh and tell Coulson, he has a mole"  Fitz-Simmons look scared before they walk off to the interrogation rooms.

Clint handcuffs Ward to the table and sits opposite to him "what are you gonna do to me" Ward asks and Clint shrugs. A few minutes later May walks in "what" she asks sharply "we have a mole and his name is Ward" Clint says not looking away "oh, I'll alert Coulson" May says "he knows, because if Fitz-Simmons got you, they told Coulson" Clint tells her.

"Thank you for coming agent May now go assure that everyone else aboard is indeed who they say they are" he tells her and she nods walking out of the room.

"Now, why are you here" Clint stares Ward down "for information on you" Ward says plainly "I won't tell you why or who I work for, because you won't touch me" Ward smirks "No you're right, I won't but he will" Clint says just as the door slams open to reveal a very angry Coulson.

Clint stands up and walks over to Coulson, quietly shutting the door "I'm alright, I'm right here" Clint says pulling Coulson into him after a few seconds he pulls away.

"Now Ward, I can only calm him down for a little bit so start talking and you may get out of here alive" Clint orders him "I work for Garret and he's working for hydra within SHIELD" Ward says staring at the knife in Clint's hand "why does hydra want me, how did they know I'd be on the plane" Clint says handing the knife to Phil "they knew that Agent Coulson and you had some kind of connection so originally I was supposed to kidnap agent Coulson and then hydra would torture him until you came" finding out they wanted to hurt Coulson is what got to him, his fingers twitched before he walked out of the room.

"What's wrong" Phil asks "I just need a second because if I go in there I might kill him" Clint says "ok, while we should be getting to the base soon" Phil says as he rubs Clint's back "that should help" Clint nods leaning into Phil.

They walk back to the briefing room and see everyone there "May, how long" Clint asks "we're hovering over it now" she says and Clint nods walking to the loading bay as May lowered it "um Ghost don't you need a parachute" Simmons asks "nope" he answers right before he jumps. He lands on top of the building and quickly climbs down.

He takes out all the outside guards in a matter of seconds "all outdoor guards are down or dead" Clint says through coms before moving inside and killing all first level guards "first level is clear moving to the second one now" Clint tells them.

Phil bites his lip harshly as he watches the cameras catching glimpses of Clint, he knows Clint is doing it to reassure Phil that he's ok. "I thought you said he was never caught on camera" Skye says confused "he's not, but he's doing it for me" Phil answers absently "why" Fitz-Simmons asks "classified" Phil answers watching the cameras.

"Second floor cleared going up to the last level" Clint whispers as he slowly makes his way to the last floor. He opens the door and doesn't see any guards "what" he looks around confused as he slowly walks around. "There are no guards up here" Clint says before he here's the steps of the winter solider "never mind there's one" he says turning around.

"Hey, so I'm assuming this isn't a friendly visit" Clint asks but doesn't get a reply "ok then" he whispers "you are my mission" the soldier says in deep voice "I don't have time for this, I haven't had my fifth cup of coffee yet so I'm irritable" Clint says.

Suddenly the soldier is running at him and Clint's punched in the face. Clint dodges and grabs the night-night gun and shoots the soldier with it three times and he goes down. "Ok, is there a basement" Clint asks "no, just these three floors" Skye answers "ok, cmon in then" he tells them walking up the stairs to the roof as the bus lands on it and everyone is coming out.

"Phil, there's a problem" Clint says "what is it" he questions "it's the winter soldier" Clint tells him quietly and Phil nods "we'll bring him back and you can take him to Steve or we can figure out something else" Phil says as they walk down the stairs, Clint on high alert.

They slowly make their way to the gravitonium and Fitz-Simmons stabilizes it before putting it in a box and grab it "alright let's get out of here" Clint says leading the group and as they're about to get outside the door winter soldier is behind them so Clint ushers everyone out and shoots him three more times, before grabbing him and leaving.

Clint leaves Bucky in another interrogation room before he goes back to Wards.

"So why does hydra want me" he questions "probably the usual reasons" Ward shrugs casually "so they want to brainwash me and make me their minion" Clint nods "good to know" he smiles before taking his knife out and cutting a little line on Wards arm.

"Sir what are we doing with him" Clint asks as he steps into the debrief room "we'll take him to the base and lock him up" Clint nods "no torture" Clint asks "no torture" Phil agrees and Clint pouts. "Stop pouting agent" Phil scolds "then can I fight May" Clint asks "ask her" Phil says waving him off.

"Mayyyyyyy" Clint drags out her name "yes" she answers the unasked question "yay" he grabs mays arm and drags her to the loading bay and they throw some mats down. "Rules" he asks "no shame in tapping out, no major injury, no blood" May concludes and Clint nods getting into stance along with May in the middle of the mats.

Everyone gets entranced by the way May and Clint move so fluently in their fight that it almost looks like dancing and in the end Clint has May pinned in a choke hold as she taps out "ha, I am victorious" he grins as he wipes sweat from his forehead. "Phil can I fight you" Clint asks "I guess" Phil answers and gets into a fighting position facing Clint.

The way Clint and Phil move is different than how Clint and May move because they know each other's weaknesses and strengths. At one point Phil has Clint pinned and his hands wrapped around Clint's throat applying a little pressure and Clint fights the urge to just relax into the feeling of nothingness that tugs on the edge of his consciousness and taps out, Phil lets go and Clint breathes in deeply and looks up at Phil through his lashes on his exhale.

Phil gets up and offers his hand to Clint who waves it off and just kind of lays there. Phil looks at Clint for a second before picking him up and carrying Clint to his office and when he gets there he sits on the couch. "Sleep" Phil commands and Clint listens and they sit there for the rest of the flight. Phil drops Clint of at the tower and than heads to Wakanda to drop Bucky off.

Clint enters the tower and slowly makes his way to the common room after changing. "Hey Tasha" Clint mumbles curling up to her side "hey birdie" Natasha pets his hair and he quickly falls asleep with dreams of his husband.
