Mystery Boy
A/N: Peter Parker is illusive.
This whole things is a mess..
...........
Peter Parker had two friends.
Ned Leeds and Michele Jones.
The thing was, despite having the biggest nerd and the biggest activist as friends, no one really knew much about Peter, not even his friends.
Ned and Peter were childhood friends, but Peter sorta, disappeared off the face of the earth when he was 14 after his Aunt and Uncle's death.
But he did come back his senior year, and he came back swinging.
Gone was the orphan boy in hand me downs with baby face and dorky build.
When he walked in, he was grown. He face was clean, teeth perfect, glasses ditched. He was taller now, from 5'6 to 6'1. His clothes were new, tight fitting and showed off a bulkier build. His arms were bare, the boy only sporting a tank top. Scars dotted his arms, fresh, old, everything.
No one recognized him.
Except Ned and Mj.
Ned and heard whispering and followed everyone's eyes, snagging on a boy who vanished for four years.
"Peter? What the hell man?" His voice was loud enough for people to be startled by the realization.
Peter Parker?
The nerd?
Peter's head snapped to Ned, a lazy smile floating onto his soft lips. He walked over to Ned, pushing through the crowd, happy to see his best friend again.
"Ned! It's been forever!" The two hugged. Ned had gotten a sort of "glow up" too. But he's still the lovable nerd that Peter remembered. He simply got a little slimmer, but the weight he did have still seemed to be muscle.
Peter was kinda sad at that, Ned was a marshmallow. He loved marshmallow Ned.
"What happened to you?"
"Had to go away for awhile after my Aunt and Uncle died. Got taken in by a family friend. Was homeschooled until now."
"Really?"
Peter nodded, it was actually the truth. A family friend basically offered him a place to stay and gave him resources to continue schooling. He didn't live with the family friend, but he was often visited by the family friend's son, who was his childhood friend, but not his best friend.
"What classes do you have?"
The two spent a minute comparing schedules before Peter had to sort things out with his locker. He hardly cast a glance at anyone.
Time went on like normal, teachers welcoming him back to the school, but him keeping mostly to himself.
Somehow, he and Mj had become friends between classes. Probably because the teacher noticed he wasn't paying attention and tried to call him out, but Peter never answered wrong.
At lunch, when the three were eating, Peter seemed like his old self. Talkative, goofy, full of life. It was... nice to see Peter hadn't changed completely.
Then his phone rang. It wasn't a normal phone or a Stark phone, it looked to be one of a kind.
Maybe Peter built it.
He checked the caller I.D., smiled and excused himself as he answered.
"Harry, what's up?" And he left the cafeteria.
Over the course of the next few months, Peter remained a mystery.
He wasn't different around friends, but there was definitely something off.
Then came an... interesting day.
Their teacher, Mr. Harrington, probably the only teacher Peter spared any attention too in class, had an announcement.
"Our class has been randomly selected to visit Stark Industries!"
The whole class burst into excited cheers.
That is except Mj and Peter. Mj was just uninterested while Peter was laughing to himself.
Both Ned and Mj were wondering why, but Peter merely said that someone he knows should be outraged about him going to Stark Industries.
"Huh, better than Oscorp," Peter said blankly as his classmates looked at the building in awe.
Of course Peter's reaction was... that.
They were all rushed in and greeted by a tour guide. A kid their age with sandy blonde hair and this sweet country look to him.
Peter thought he was cute.
"Howdy, I'm Harley, The old man's personal intern and your tour guide today. He said some Oscorp lackey was comin and I had to keep an eye on y'all."
"None of us are associated with Oscorp," Mr. Harrington assured.
Peter smirked, "what, Stark worries about an inferior company? Pretty Sure Oscorp doesn't hold a candle to this."
Harley's eyes darted to Peter. He looked him up and down, smirking.
"Anyways, I'm going to hand you all a visitor badge so you can get around the building. They'll deactivate as soon as the tour is over, so don't bother selling them." Harley grabbed a box of ID's. The thing about the ID's is that they were all the same with a corner dedicated to the picture of the card owner. Even Harley's badge looked plain.
Though the reason for it being was security reasons.
Most likely.
Everyone was quickly handed their badges and they were ushered through security. A robotic voice was welcoming students, and it did startle them a bit, but they all expected Tony Stark to have the most modern of buildings.
When Peter walked through, the voice, who Harley briefly mentioned as FRIDAY, made a major hesitation.
"I don't know how to introduce you," she admitted.
Peter smiled awkwardly, "it's the whole last names thing, isn't it?"
"That is it."
Last name thing?
"Just use my birth name, the other two last names Donny matter since one is a formality."
FRIDAY gave it some thought, "Peter Parker, Guest."
Peter walked through, eyes on him.
"what did she mean three last names?" Ned asked. Peter shrugged, "my birth name, my guardians name and my father's name. But he doesn't know I exist so i don't use that one."
That only raised more questions as Peter walked up to Harley while everyone else was passing through.
He was hardcore flirting with him.
"What's a cute guy like you doing working for an old man like Stark?"
Harley flushed a bit, "He's a family friend. I came to work with him for the year."
"So, What's your opinion on-"
"Mr. Parker."
Peter sighed and retreated back to Ned and Mj, knowing they had a schedule to keep. They started with some of the lower level labs, just a quick look around, and it was slow moving.
The Avenger museum was probably when things actually started happening.
Peter cosines right up to Harley, "as I was asking earlier, what are your thoughts on poly relationships?"
"What?"
"I'm not gonna lie, I already have a boyfriend, but you are both my type and his."
Harley flushed heavily. "So, Who is this mystery boyfriend of yours? Have a picture?"
He nodded and pulled out his phone, pulling up a picture of Harry Fucking Osborn. And Harley recognized that.
"So you're the one I'm supposed to keep an eye on?" Harley prodded.
Peter shrugged, "sure, but I'm more loyal to stark Industries. My boyfriend may be an Osborne, but I hate Oscorp."
"Why's that?"
"Parents died working there," Peter said with a shrug. "My loyalties will never lie with them."
Harley smiled a bit, "maybe we can all start with a movie."
"That would be wonderful." Harley took out his phone and handed it to Peter, who happily typed his number in it, sending himself a text.
"I'm surprised you aren't more interested in the museum."
"Well," Peter started, "I've been here before. A public tour, so it's not new."
Harley nodded and they talked for a bit while everyone looked around, unaware that some Avengers were looking after Harley.
Who the fuck was this kid. They knew he had connections to Osborne from what he said, but he oozes confidence. He didn't seem afraid of anything.
They were listening in when-
"By the way, why are some of the Avengers watching us? Do they see you like their kid or something?"
Harry startled a bit, "what?"
"Four of them are watching us. Hawkeye, Black Widow, Stark through the cameras and... Barnes."
"How the f-"
"I'm a mystery, but I'll tell you more about it when they aren't around."
"Why not whisper it?"
"Stark's got a bug on you. Your badge at least. And you kinda need that."
How the fu-
"Peter! Look, they have a Spider-Man section! There's not much too it-"
"How do they have that? He's not an avenger!" Peter smiled and winked at Harley before going over to Ned.
Harley was going to melt. Peter was very charming and most definitely Harley's type.
Peter found out the Spider-Man section was pretty bare, talking about the hero's accomplishments and such and that's about it. They had news articles and such, but that was about it.
Figures.
The museum bit was over soon after and they were lead to a food court to get lunch. Peter Ana's his friends went o get food together. They all got normal servings, expect Peter, who seemed to have five servings worth of food.
Harley was sat with them, curious to see how Peter could eat all that when he got a phone call.
Ugh.
He excused himself and went a bit away from everyone before answering.
"What's up old man?"
"Harley, that kid is bad news."
The boy huffed in annoyance, "got any proof, cause he seems fine to me."
"Osc-"
"You do any research on him?"
There wasn't a response.
"His parents died at Oscorp, doubt that makes him found of the place. If you want something to look into, FRIDAY was confused on how to announce him, said he had three last names."
"Just be careful, Alright?"
"Yeah, yeah." He hung up and went back to the others, finding Peter had finished his food
"What the-"
Ned interrupted, "we don't understand either."
Harley decided to just eat as Peter absently checked his phone.
"Oh, Harry thinks you're cute," Peter said happily.
"Ha- I.. uh-" he stumbled, "what?"
"Pete, since when have you not only had a boyfriend, but been open to polyamory?"
"I started dating Harry a couple years ago. And we've mentioned wanting to have someone else in our relationship. We want to spoil someone."
"How the fuck can you spoil anyone Parker, you're poor as shit," Flash spat, passing by.
The man just rolled his eyes, "I drive my own car to school Flash, and it isn't old. My legal guardian may be an ass, but he taught me a lot about stocks and how to invest."
"Who is your legal guardian?" Mj asked.
Peter just smiled and went on his phone again, happy as he refused to answer.

After Harley finished his lunch, he gave everyone time to clean up before moving on.
On to the Avenger's training room.
The minute the class entered, the Avengers were not pleased. But the flares weren't on any of them.
Just...
Peter. Who smiled happily back at their glares.
"The Avengers ate here if anyone wants to tr-"
"You, I want to fight you," Natasha pointed a finger st Peter.
Of course, Peter nodded, "fine by me. I know you're protective over him, but I don't mean any harm by flirting. And I know you're worried about the whole Oscorp thing, but Norman is a Dickbag, I wouldn't do anything for that shit. Harry? Maybe, but he also hates Oscorp."
Did this kid not have a filter?
"If you still want to fight, I'm down." Peter unzipped his hoodie, shrugging it off. Once again, wearing a tank top underneath, revealing a plethora of scars.
He fought. Peter dropped his hoodie and walked up to Natasha.
"So, can I have the honor of fighting you Ms. Romanov?"
The other Avengers in the room (which were Steve, Bucky, Thor, Clint and Bruce), cleared space.
Peter's class and Harley had no idea what Peter was doing.
Did he think he could beat black widow?
The two faced each other, getting into position. Peter watched Natasha's formation, and adjusted his accordingly.
To say that everyone saw the fight...
That would be a lie.
It just looked like a blur, a dance of bodies as they dodged each other.
They heard painful smacks against skin and cloth every so often, wondering who the fuck got hit.
Natasha was not the winner.
Peter was standing and Natasha was wincing on the ground. Yet, she seemed to fondly look at Peter now.
"Where'd you learn to fight kid?"
His eyes farted upwards, recalling, "I learned the basics from my Uncle, but I practice fighting whoever I can at my local gym. Bunch of kick boxers to spar against."
"Congrats, you beat an Avenger."
"I'm sure you were holding back." Peter extended a hand to her, which she took, helping her to her feet.
She paused before letting him go, "Who are you kid?"
"Peter. Depending on who you ask, my last name changes. But out of my three last names, only me and FRIDAY know the last one."
Peter's phone decided to ring at that moment, and Peter groaned, pulling it out of his pocket. His face scrunched up as a big old NORMAN, appeared on the screen. He quickly denied the call and went to grab his jacket.
"Anyways, anyone else want to try to fight an Avenger?"
The entire class shook their head, eyeing Peter suspiciously as he texted something on his phone.
"Well, then how about everyone tries to lift Thor's hammer?"
The class was definitely interested in that. Peter got in line to do it because Ned dragged him into it, but wasn't paying attention. He seemed slightly distressed at whatever was going on in his text conversation.
No one was getting the hammer up, as expected.
Though, Peter was the last to go. He glared at his phone as he put it away, grabbing the hammer without any effort.
"Was kinda hoping this was heavier," Peter said dumbly. It was... light in his hand, almost like it was fake. He tossed it from hand to hand, shrugging and tossing it over to Thor, who was almost too shell shocked to catch it.
"Alright, I think it's time to have a talk," it was a new voice, and everyone turned to see Tony Fucking Stark standing there, brows furrowed.
"Tony Stark, what an honor," Peter said cheekily.
The man glared a bit, "I need to borrow your student for a minute. He'll meet up with you soon."
Mr. Harrington nodded and Peter followed Tony with a shrug.
"See you soon, don't know what the dude wants." And then he disappeared.
"Peter... why the fuck...?" Ned muttered to himself.
"Peter Parker. Peter Osborn-"
"Just because Norman is my guardian, doesn't make him my dad. Gross."
"Why-"
"Have you met the man?" Peter scoffed. "He's an abusive, narcissistic, pompous prick who only cares for himself."
"What the hell is the last one? FRIDAY refuses to tell me."
Peter pursed his lips, eyes narrowing at Tony, "do your visitors know you run biometrics on them."
"Wh-"
"Friday picked up a similar DNA pattern to mine in the Tower, and assigned me a last name accordingly. My biological dad, who doesn't know I exist, works here."
What? "Why doesn't your dad know you exist?"
"My mom," Peter started, "was engaged when I was conceived. She was drunk, he was drunk, it happened. My parents were on a small break. I don't know if he knew I wasn't his, but yeah, my mom never had a reason to tell who it was and also didn't remember."
"How did you figure it out then?"
"Went nine months back before I was born and found what my mom was doing and who she was with. The rest is classified."
"What did you do?"
"Nothing too big."
Tony's brows were heavily furrowed. "Spit. It. Out."
"Fine," Peter said with a mock enthusiasm, "hacked into FBI files and databases to bring up possible genetic matches and ran it against my own."
"Why?"
"I was curious about my real dad."
Tony looked at him with... horror? Shocked awe? Whatever it was, it wasn't something he was used to seeing. "Who's your father then. I'll invite them up to have a touching reunion."
"Don't feel like saying. You can run the scan yourself."
He was annoyed with Peter, but did it anyways, vld for the biometric scans. He let the scan run through everyone in the building, including himself.
It took all of two minutes before two pictures lined up with a connection. One of course being Peter, the other being-
"What?"
Peter rolled his shoulders back and stretched as he got up. "Will you stop being worried about the Oscorp thing, my loyalties will lie here."
"How do-"
"You can treat me like any other normal person, I just want you to stop thinking the worst of me."
Tony looked from the screen to Peter, "do you not want to be recognized as my son?"
Yes, Peter Parker and Tony Stark we're Father and Son.
Peter never cared for that.
"If you don't want to recognize me as your son," Peter started, "I wouldn't be mad. I'm an illegitimate child after all. Anyways, can I get back to my class now?"
Okay, it was definitely interesting to see someone not want to be included in Tony's life, good or bad. "Kid..."
"To everyone else, I'm just Peter Parker, the poor orphan kid who just so happens to be dating Harry Osborn. I can continue living that, because it's not true, and I'm fine with that."
"I want to talk to you more about all this, but for now, you should get back to your class."
Peter nodded and he was escorted back to his class.
His class who was talking to Bruce fucking Banner.
Peter's stoic nature rushed off him as he rejoined his friends, awe fixing into his face. Tony was shocked to see the kid be excited about something.
Bruce picked up on the new face, but unlike the others who were were aggressive or standoffish towards Peter, Brice seemed happy, "Mr. Parker! I didn't know your class was coming here! I thought you were homeschooled?"
Attention was put on Peter who was smiling like he used to, "My guardian let me transfer to Midtown. Nice to see you again Dr. Banner!"
Okay, how the fuck did they know each other?
"Uh, How do you know Peter?" Harley asked tentatively.
"Oh, I met Mr. Parker a couple years back. I simply run into him on a bad day and he started to excitedly talk about my work as a doctor. Made my day. He was actually my assistant that summer. He's a bright kid."
Assistant?
Now that Tony thought about it, Bruce did mention having an assistant before when they were still recently formed as a team. Who knew it was Peter?
"I take after my dad."
"Richard Parker, right?"
"He's technically not my dad, but sure, him too."
Bruce didn't stick to that information, continuing whatever he was talking about.
Tony needed a breather, leaving the group and going to the common room. The common room where the other Avengers were.
Tony walked in and sat on the couch, eyes drawn to him.
"So, What's the deal with the Peter kid?" Clint asked.
"So much. There's just so much. He's intelligent. Dangerously so."
"How?" Steve asked.
He sighed, "he hacked the FBI database to find his father."
Okay... yeah, that's intelligent.
"Who's his father then?"
"Well," he said, "according to the biometric scam I did on the building... it's me."
"What!?"
Tony nodded, "He's apparently my actual biological kid, and he's known for years. He said he doesn't care and likes his current life. He mostly only let me know so I'd stop worrying about the Oscorp thing."
"So the last names the kid had are-"
"Parker, Osborn and Stark."
"That kid has weird luck."
The elevator door opened and Bruce walked in, "So, why were you with that kid? Mr. Parker wasn't with the group originally."
"He was hitting on Harley and had connections to Oscorp."
Bruce quirked a brow, "he hates Oscorp. Has screaming matches with Norman Osborn all the time."
"What?"
"Yeah, not only did his parents die because of Oscorp, he got superpowers because of Them."
"Hold up, Superpowers?"
Bruce realized what he said, but apparently, Peter must've given him permission to talk about it. "Spider-Man? That's Peter."
"What?!"
"I helped him out a bit since he got his powers before working with me. Mostly just testing limits. He's got Cap's record beat when in comes to strength."
"Just so we're aware... what are his abilities?"
Bruce was full scientist for this. "It's fascinating! He's able to stick to every surface with little to no resistance. He can't create his own webs, but he's made up a web formula that is liquid, then solid before it vanishes. Can't leave New York covered in webs. He has super healing, so most injuries fade quite quickly, and a 'Spidey sense' as he calls it. It helps him detect incoming danger. He's able to regrow limbs, though that takes a bit. And he can spit venom that dissolves his food. Harmless to humans but it disgusting when he makes him food into smoothies. He has a fast metabolism, so he needs to eat a lot more than others. But that's all that I'm aware of."
"Oh great, so not only is he super intelligent with connections to two multi billion dollar companies, he's also enhanced ."
"He's a good kid. Why are you all so worked up about him?"
Tony sighed, "according to the biometrics scan I did, Peter's apparently my biological son."
"Oh. That explains some things I guess. He really admires you."
"Really?"
Bruce nodded, "when he worked for me, he talked about his dream of working here. He really admired what you've done and how you're willing to change after everything that's happened. He also mentioned you saving him before? If I recall, he said he was dressed up in an iron man mask at the Stark Expo and you saved his life."
"This is too much info to process, I'm going to the lab." Tony walked right on out of there.
Not too long after, Harley came up, done with the tour. "I'm going to a sleepover to binge Star Wars," he muttered.
"With who?"
"Uh, that Peter kid, his two friends that came with him and Harry Osborn."
"Why?"
"I don't know??? But now I have their numbers and I'm in a group chat with all of them."
"You going to go?" Bucky asked.
Harley nodded, "sounds fun."
And it was.
Tony was temporarily backing off, Harley didn't know why, but he was.
When Harley showed up wearing pajamas, the person who opened the door was... Harry Osborn.
"You must be Harley. You really are cute."
Harley flushed heavily and ducked his head.
"Hope you don't mind, But Ned and MJ, Peter's friends, Invited their significant other's."
"I don't mind, we're binging star wars after all."
"I can see why Peter likes you." He let Harley in, the man immediately looking at the group that was huddled on a rather large couch. Harley recognized a face besides Peter's.
"Uh... shuri, what are you doing here?"
Shuri's eyes snapped up, smiling at Harley. "Peter said he was having a sleepover with everyone and I decided to join to see my girlfriend." She gestured to Mj.
So... so many questions.
"Oh, you're the tour guide from the other day, I'm Betty!" Harley recognized the girl next to Ned and nodded.
"Cool."
He decided to sit by Peter, who smiled at him happily. The spot beside Harley was soon taken by Harry.
Welp.
Somehow during the movies, Harley ended up with his head on Peter's shoulder while sitting in Harry's lap. The two were happily spoiling in, running fingers through his hair and rubbing soothing circles on visible skin.
It would all stop if Harley wanted it to stop, but he liked it. He liked how warm it was. It's nice to be spoiled vs. being a pain in the ass.
"I think we should turn in for the night," Ned suggested with a yawn. "So who's staying with who?"
"Couples stay with couples. Harry and I will take Harley under our wing."
"Alright then, night everyone." The other two couples fled to two rooms and quickly closed the door.
"Whose house are we in by the way?" Harley asked.
"Harry's and Mine. If you want to sleep in a separate room, we have another guest room."
"Ah, no, it's fine."
And that was how Harley fell asleep, squished between Harry and Peter.
Harley was eating breakfast with Tony and the other Avengers when he sighed to himself, in defeat, "should I invite him here? To live here."
"Up to you, he's your kid."
What? "Since when did you have a kid?" Harley asked.
"Apparently I've had a kid for almost eighteen years, it I didn't know about him until recently."
"Really?"
"Yeah, it's that Peter kid."
Harley should've been more shocked, but nothing was shocking when it concerned Peter. "Pretty sure he'll say no. He lives with Harry."
"What?"
"Yeah, they have a place together because they both hate Norman Osborn."
"They could both move in," Steve suggested.
Tony did not want that.
"Just have him visit you, he'd probably do that before moving in."
"Ugh."
"Ugh indeed, old man."
Peter did eventually come to hang out at the tower, and it was the most chaotic thing. Harley was glad he was around for it.
Harley spent weekends with Peter and Harry and may have eventually agreed to date them.
So that was neat.
And Harley found out about the Spider-Man thing around the same time Harry did. Neither were surprised.
