Avengers, Meet Peter
A/N: the Avengers meet Peter in their day to day lives, not knowing who he is, but wishing they did because they'd die for him.
..............
Bruce was outside for once, glad that people didn't quite recognize his civilian form.
He was enjoying a nice cup of coffee at the park, reading the news when someone moved in front of him.
He dreaded whatever awaited him as he looked up, seeing a really excited teenage boy with a brown mop of curls.
"Are you Doctor Robert Bruce Banner?"
"I am. I'm sorry, but I'm not trying to hulk out-"
"What? No, I'm not here for the hulk. Your my scientific hero!"
That... wow. "What?"
"Your work in gamma radiation is super fascinating! I read all your papers and I'm glad I got the chance to meet you!"
"Ah, why don't you sit down?" He gestured to the spot next to him and the kid happily took it.
"So what are you doing today Dr. Banner?"
Bruce smiled at the kid, "just relaxing I suppose."
"I'm not intruding, am I?" The teenager asked worriedly.
He shook his head in response, "no, don't worry about it! So, your interested in my work?"
"I am! Though I'm more into bioengineering and chemistry, your studies have always fascinated me! Even though the results of your initial research aren't why you wanted, that doesn't mean you were wrong about them. It would be interesting to see how you go forward with it."
"You seem like a smart kid."
"Oh! Thank you!"
"What's your name?"
The boy looked shocked Bruce wanted to know, "I'm Peter."
"Well Peter, what do you want to do when you graduate school?"
Peter smiled brightly, "I want to develop technologies that could help give life back to people. Like better prosthetics, medicines would be great to work on, environmental projects to lessen our footprint on the planet."
"Have you ever thought of working at Stark Industries?"
Peter nodded, "of course, though I should focus on my studies for right now. I plan to work their after high school, if they'll have me."
"They'd be lucky to."
Peter's phone went off and the boy poured as he brought it out, checking a text. His face fell a bit.
"It was nice meeting you Dr. Ba-"
"Call me Bruce."
Peter nodded, "nice meeting you Bruce, but I need to go."
"Well, hopefully I see you again, you seem like a good kid."
"Thank you! Bye?" Peter waved brightly before farting off. Bruce wondered what made Peter so quick to dash. He hoped the kid would be alright, he seemed to be genuine and kind.
He'd die for that kid.
Today during a bank robbery, a woman by the name of May Parker tried to help other hostages escape. While she was successful in her efforts, she was killed by the bank robbers. Iron Man was quick on the scene and the people responsible are now in custody.
May Parker is survived by her nephew Peter Benjamin Parker. No word yet on what is to happen to him.
Natasha was at the library, in disguise obviously, looking for books to read. She just needed something to pass the time as Tony worked on reworking the accords and/or pardon the rouges.
She was in the non-fiction section, wanting to laugh about history and it's inaccuracy.
"Excuse me ma'am, you seem to have dropped this."
Natasha startled and looked to the voice, seeing a messy haired teen holding up her wallet.
"Oh, thank you!"
"No problem ma'am!"
Natasha smiled at the boy, who then proceeded to turn to the bookshelf and pull out a book that was written in Russian.
"Do you know Russian?" She asked.
The boy nodded, "I learned it half a year ago? I thought that alphabet was cool and wanted to know more about it. Do you speak Russian ma'am?"
"I do. Stop calling me ma'am, my names Natasha."
The boy flushed, "sorry... I'm Peter by the way."
"Nice to meet you Peter, do you know any other languages?"
"Uh, English obviously, Italian, Spanish, some mandarin, asl, and Romanian."
"You know asl?"
"I work at a place with a few deaf people and it's always useful to be able to talk to them in a way they're comfortable with."
She smiled a bit at that, "my best friend is dead, so I know my fair share of it as well."
Peter nodded, "How is Clint Barton doing?"
She froze pretty quickly at that, eyeing the boy out of the corner of her eye.
A spy?
"Ms. Romanov, I'm not here to put you or anything."
She was still wary, but Peter room it in stride.
"You think I wouldn't recognize one of the biggest bad asses out there? One of my best friends adorned you, and I know why. You rock the male dominated Avengers."
"Who are you kid?"
"I'm Peter. Just a normal kid from queens. Nice meeting you Ms. Romanov." He walked away, book from earlier still in hand.
Natasha eyed the kid suspiciously as he get, quickly checking her wallet for any sort of bug or something.
He didn't put a bug in her wallet, but he did put a little note.
I hope you guys get pardoned soon
She smiled at that. So the kid wasn't bad.
His puppy eyes and warm grin came to mind.
If she had to, shed die for that child.
As of today, the 'rouge' Avengers have been pardoned and talks of new accords are making its rounds. Should we trust the rouges?
Thor has returned from Asgard a bit after Bruce did. Bruce wanted to be home while Thor wished the same, but Thor missed his friend and came to Midgard. When he went to the tower, Tony told him the Avengers were staying in the compound now.
There was no explanation besides 'important people were staying in the tower that were not supposed to interact with the Avengers.'
Thor was okay with that, especially since his friends (besides tony) were at the compound.
At the moment, he was going out and about, occasionally taking pictures with fans who stopped him. He sometimes forgot his hammer, but whenever he realized he forgot it, he'd just summon it. After all, it wasn't like anyone could pick it up.
And it was why was happening, Thor dropped his hammer somewhere.
Annoying.
He was about to summon it, when a voice squeaked from behind him, "um, Mr. Thor, I think you dropped this."
Thor turned around in confusion and saw things at different times.
He first saw his hammer Mjölnir in the hands of a child.
Child?
Okay. A young looking boy.
Then he saw the mess of curls the boy had.
Then his doe eyes which seem worried.
"I... Who are you midardian?"
"I'm... I'm Peter?"
Thor nodded, "okay Peter, thank you for returning my hammer to me." Thor tony he hammer from the boy. It was indeed his Mjölnir.
"No problem Mr. Thor!"
The child seemed to be ready to leave, despite looking like a fan.
"I'm surprised you haven't asked for a picture."
Peter startled, "I... I know that just because you're on earth, it doesn't mean you're free. You're probably busy and i don't want to bother you. Have a nice day mr. Thor!" Peter booked it.
He was interesting. Thor decided that if the child ever realized what he'd done and decided to fight Thor for the throne, he'd lose on purpose. Whoever the kid was deserved the universe.
Tony Stark hiding someone? The Avengers who once stayed in the tower were forced to move to the compound and there's no explanation besides Tony Stark trying to hide someone from the Avengers.
Who are they?
Honestly, Clint didn't live with the Avengers, he had a family of his own to look after, after all. Scott was the same. The pair became fast friends after being fed up with how the civil war turned out.
The pair went out shopping together. They were picking up school supplies for their kids. Cassie was with Scott since he didn't have anyone to watch her. Everyone he trusted to watch her was having a date night and the others were working.
Clint didn't mind the company.
Somehow though, Cassie got separated from them and the two adults panicked and went looking for her.
After ten minutes, they found her. She was sitting in front of some teenage boy who was sitting as well. He had pulled out some tissues and was wiping tears off of Cassie's face. The adults wanted to grab Cassie, but also wanted to know what the kid's deal was.
"Hey, Hey, we'll find your dad. I'm sure he's looking all over for you. You're a brave little girl, I know I was terrified to talk to strangers around your age(you should always be wary around strangers), your dad raised a warrior."
Cassie smiled weakly, giggling. "Thank you mister!"
"It's nothing. Come on, let's go find your parents." He got up, extending a hand to Cassie. She took it just as Clint and Scott appeared.
Her hand immediately slipped out of The boys and she ran to Scott, hugging her dad who hugged her tightly back.
Clint spared a glance at Peter who seemed to be giving a warm smile to the pair. The boy got up, "glad you found your dad."
"Thank you kid, what's your name?" Scott asked, looking up.
"I'm Peter."
"Thank you Peter."
The boy looked at Clint and his eyes widened a bit.
Then the kid started doing asl
'Hi Mr. Barton, glad you got pardoned. Can you tell ms Romanov that I'm sorry for startling her?"
That was...
What the fuck?
"You know asl?" Scott asked.
Peter nodded, "Yeah. People are always surprised. Anyways, you two keep up the good work as heroes and little miss, you continue being you," Peter left pretty quickly after.
"Who was that kid?"
"No idea."
Cassie giggled happily, "he called me a warrior! Just like daddy!"
Whoever he was, he made Cassie happy, so he'd get Scott and Clint's protection if he ever needed it.
Though Clint wondered what in the ever loving fuck Peter was talking about.
Tony Stark has broken up with long term fiancé and announced relationship with Steve Rodgers. Pepper Potts announces relationship with Natasha Romanov.
Honestly, Steve never expected Tony to forgive him, but he did. He still was keeping him away from the tower and honestly, Steve wished he knew why.
He respected Tony's privacy, and there was still trust issues, even if Tony came up to the compound every weekend and stayed wrapped up in Steve's arms. There was still some things Tony wasn't ready to talk about.
Steve was just happy Tony hadn't killed him.
Anyways, he was looking for Bucky, the man had went out to get groceries with Steve and now Captain couldn't locate his best friend.
"Your arm is pretty neat Mr. Barnes, vibraniam?"
Ah, there he was.
Wait-
Steve rushes over to see a kid standing next to Bucky. The kid was studying Bucky's arm and Bucky didn't seem to mind in the slightest. He actually looked amused.
"It is."
"Nice. It looks to be more practical than comfortable though." The kid muttered. "You should tell whoever made it to thin the metal more, and to maybe to something about making the base of your arm a lot less metal. Oh, there's probably ways to lighten the arm too, I wish I knew who made the arm."
"I'll be sure to tell them your ideas."
"So what are you doing today?"
Bucky hummed, "buying groceries with Steve."
The kid's face scrunched up at the mention of Steve, but it washed over quickly. Bucky noticed.
"Not a captain America fan?"
"Oh, no I'm a huge fan of all the Avengers. That doesn't mean I like who they actually are."
There was a small smirk on Bucky's face, "so why the grudge against Steve?"
"Well," The boy started, "I know he was trying to help you, after all, you were brainwashed so you couldn't exactly control your actions, I get that. What I don't get is why Mr. Rodgers didn't talk things out with Mr. Stark before betraying his trust and nearly killing him in Siberia."
Both adults reeled from that. Ouch.
"I'm surprised you don't hate me."
"You were brainwashed, it's not your fault. It's also not your fault that your best friend is an idiot."
Bucky seemed to like the kid, who wasn't acting star struck, who seemed to know more than he should. "You a fan of Tony?"
"He's my childhood hero. Him and Dr. Banner have done so much for science and Mr. Stark continues to try to do better."
"It's good that you're worried about Tony. You know Steve still feels like shit for what he did?"
That much was true
"Well sorry doesn't fix the fa-" the boy faltered, eyes cast downwards in thought, "he should show it more at least. He at least gets a second chance. Some people can never get a chance to fix things."
There was a drop in Bucky's shoulders as he seemed to register the kid's implication. Either the kid was the cause of someone's death, couldn't save someone, or actively killed someone. Could've been all three for all they knew.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Peter."
"No last name?"
"I'm in the process of getting it changed."
"Oh."
Peter nodded, "besides, I think your friend over there has been waiting to grab you. Mr. Rodgers can't hide for shit apparently." Peter made eye contact with Steve, and there was a legit shiver that coursed through Steve's body.
"Appears so."
"I've got to go, it was nice meeting you Mr. Barnes."
"Call me Bucky."
Warmth spread in Peter's expression, "goodbye Bucky, nice meeting you."
He slipped away.
Who the fuck was that kid?
Why did Bucky seem so fond of them?
Correction, Bucky would die for them, which meant so would Steve.
Tony Stark announces a press conference in a month to discuss why the Avengers have been forced away from the Stark Industries Tower
The day was good. Sam decided that he and Rhodey had to deal with enough superhero bullshit from the others and went out for coffee.
They talked about each of there perspective friends. Rhodey even admitted he had no idea why Tony was keeping him away from the tower.
According to him, Pepper and Natasha were blind about it also. No one knew why Tony was acting the way he was.
"Could be he's waiting for the right moment to reveal whatever it is."
The men startled, glancing over at a boy who seemed to be texting someone on his phone.
"What makes you say that?"
"Well, depending on what it is, he could feel unsure of how all of the Avengers would react. Take for example, a kid, if he had one, he'd understandably be hiding it. An injury, understandably be hiding it, things like that."
"Doubt he's hiding a kid or something."
The boy shrugged, "I would think his best friend would guess that first considering his playboy days."
Rhodey eyed the kid suspiciously. For some reason, the kid seemed familiar. Maybe the kid was just fucking around, never can be too sure nowadays.
He did remind him of Tony a bit. The absolute snark he had. Still, he was a cute kid, messy curls and big brown eyes.
"What's your name kid?" Sam asked
"Oh I'm Peter."
"Well Peter," Rhodey started, "I think my best friend would tell me about having a secret kid."
Peter shrugged again, "whatever you say. I'm betting on him saying he has a secret kid. Mr. Stark deserves some happiness in whatever way it finds him."
"You a fan of Tony?"
"He's my childhood hero. Why wouldn't I be a fan of him?" Peter rolled his eyes, but his lips teased a warm smile.
"Peter, why haven't you sat down yet?" A person walked beside Peter, wrapping an arm around him.
Was...
Holy shit that was Johnny Storm.
"I was talking, nice to talk to you," The pair moved to presumably a corner booth.
Interesting.
That was all that came to mind.
Well, whoever it was, it made the pair think about whatever Tony was hiding.
Tony Stark reveals he has a son. He admits he had no idea his son existed for a long time, but wants to spend as much time with his kid as possible, which means keeping the Avengers away. Sources say his son is about 17 years old. No one knows who he is.
Who is this mystery son and how did they meet Tony?
Scarlet and Vision were out on a date, exploring the town and all that. Vision figured out how to make a disguise so he wasn't red the entire time.
Thus, they were able to enjoy a peaceful night out. Everything was fine and dandy when they bumped into...
Johnny Storm?
The pair recognized the hero pretty quickly, but were surprised at the addition in his arm. A doe eyed boy with messy brown hair adorned his arm, the two teens happily close.
Sometimes it was easy to forget that Johnny was seventeen.
"Storm?" Wanda questions softly.
Johnny nodded in acknowledgment, "Avengers."
"Their names aren't the avengers hot head. It's Vision and Wanda Maximoff."
"Ah, apologies."
"You sounding formal is disgusting," the boy snorted, a playful smile in his lips.
"Who's this with you?" Wanda asked.
"I'm Peter! Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. How'd you two meet?"
Johnny seemed to think for a second, "I knocked him off a building by accident."
What the-
"Ah yes, nothing says romance then you nearly killing me," Peter said in a mock fondness.
"Hey, I said I was sorry."
"I know. Anyways, we'll let you two get back to your date, have fun." Peter dragged Johnny away, leaving the couple more confused than they were before.
Avengers are expected to move back into Stark towers in the next few weeks. Does this mean Stark jr. Has met the Avengers, or is this the fateful meeting?
"Okay guys, he'll be out soon, please don't scare him, he's a good kid," Tony asked of them.
"I didn't even know you had a kid until the press conference," Rhodey muttered.
"Sorry honeybear, I didn't know I had a kid until I went to adopt him."
"Why were you going to adopt a kid?" Steve presser.
Tony hummed, "he was basically my kid anyways, then his aunt died and well, I was just going to skip the bullshit and become his dad. Turns out, I'm already his dad."
"Must be some kid."
"He's spectacular."
"Daaad, I'm hungry!" A voice whined out. The avengers turned to see a sleepy kid wander out of a hallway, face still obscured by his own arm, yawning, tired. The boy hugged his dad, who pat his head.
"Hi hu-"
"Don't."
"Doesn't hurt to try."
The kid grumbled and lifted his head, facing away from the Avengers to talk to his dad. "Didn't you say someone was coming over today?"
"I did. The Avengers."
"The only Avenger worth meeting is you and maybe Dr. Bruce Banner."
"They're here now bambino."
The kid startled and flipped around, suddenly awake.
Then, all at once, each Avenger recognized the kid.
"Peter!"
"Oh! You met him before?"
"Starkson is able to wield Mjölnir..." Thor said to himself.
The others heard, "what?!"
"The kid speaks six different languages."
"He's dating Johnny Storm..."
Tony startled at that one, "you're dating who?"
"Dad, leave me alone, I'll be fine. He breaks my heart, I'll break him."
Tony's eyes narrowed, but nodded. "Anyways, this is my son Peter."
"Nice to meet you guys properly."
"You're really something kid."
Peter smiled, a hot flush on his cheeks, "thank you."
"Anyways, today is Peter's eighteenth birthday, which is why you're allowed to meet him."
"You're such a helicopter parent," Peter complained, but his smile wasn't fading.
Half the Avengers were already willing to die for Peter, but after seeing Tony's fond expression of his kid...
They'd all die for him.
If they could give tony the world, then they'd be happy to save Tony's world.
Tony Stark Kid revealed to be Peter Parker-Stark. Peter was an intern who was close to Stark. When his last remaining family died, Stark stepped up to be a father, figuring out Peter was his son in the process.
