I Care (P.Q.&Rocket)

"Be okay, be okay, god please be okay!" The man hobbled and ran in the rubble of the city. Cries were heard and people shooting. He had to be okay. He had to be okay.

"Rocket!" Quill shouted as he coughed on the smoke and dust everywhere. He stumbled a bit. Why did he have to be on this planet? It was supposed to be a one-day thing!

"Quill!" His head shot up and he noticed the small paw. "Rocket!" He ignored the grinding of his bones and mad his way to his ring-tailed friend.

He moved rubble out of the way and saw Rocket in his guardian jumpsuit. "Hey, what hurts? Are you okay? I'm so damn sorry!" Rocket let out a couple big puffs of air circulate within him before he looked at Quill.

"I'm fine Quill-freak-I'll be fine." Quill gave the raccoon a look.

"Ribs...hard to suck in air." Quill felt panic rise in his stomach. It made it feel like a pit. He picked up Rocket and looked around him. "We're gonna have to get in somewhere. It's chaos out here." Rocket agreed.

"Can you walk?" Rocket nodded as he stood.

"Let's go in there." They made their way into the small building. It was secure enough. Apparently there was an attack on this planet due to a fight between the worst planet goers in the universe! It's super confusing but Peter Quill was pissed because here he was with a useless leg and his best friend that he-never would admit- loved so much. This friend was also in pain. He didn't know how bad it was though, that scared him more.

"My ribs are just cracked or bruised I think." Rocket read his mind. Quill reached into his pouch on his left leg and grabbed some medical wrap.

"Take this suit down." Rocket grunted as he removed his arms through the straps and let hit hang over his lower stomach. Peter was able to wrap up his friends ribs and help the raccoon put the suit back on.

"That should help." Rocket nodded in agreement.

They sat down and leaned against two different things, facing each other.

"Quill?"

"Yeah, Rocky?"

"I uh...I wanted you to know I do...careaboutyouandimsorryforbeingajerk all the time." Peter rose a brow but smiled fondly, "I know." The raccoon looked away with his ears flattened to his head. That's another thing that was so great about his friend. He couldn't tell the muscles that flinched underneath that fur but he could tell by the extra attachments the animal had.

"I care about you too." The raccoon smiled and looked at the bearded man that leaned against a shot up cabinet.
