Summary: The reader is not allowed to go on a mission, die to some injuries, she is left with Steve Rogers who is meant to take care of her. Both have a crush on each other but are afraid to tell it to the other, so let's see whether this alone time helps them confess.

"So that's the plan... It's very simple... We need to go in and then out as stealthy as possible" Said Tony as he started at the members at the table

"Yeah, I and Barton can handle going in and out whole you guys cover our asses." Said Natasha.

I just sat their with my head in my arms. Why? Well of course during to the reason that in our previous mission, when Stark blasted the damn building, I got trapped under the rumble and if it was not for Thor and captain then I would be dead. Not much was damaged, just my lung was punctured and my head was concussed, a few broken ribs and a broken ego.

Yeah to be honest this happened a month ago, but today I'm not allowed to go on this mission, because Bruce has not given me the clear yet. Like really! I'm an avenger for crying out loud. I'm the best damn spy after Natasha and I'm the one who has saved Stark's ass many times, specially when he was trying to make his new suit and the suit pieces decided that they wanted to assemble by stabbing him.

"And what shall I do? " I asked

"Stay back with capsicule and rest" Said Stark without even looking up at me

"But I'm fine" I whinned

"Sorry to say, your not. Your stitches need a month more to settle" Said Bruce

"But.. I'll get bored " I whinned

"Capsicule here, will entertain you. He will tell you times about the war, his time with Bucky, hell he will even dance to the song you want" Said Stark

"I will? " Asked Steve as he glanced at everyone with an uneasy smile

"See he even admits he will" Said Clint making everyone at the table chuckle.

Everyone here, knew about my crush on Steve, except for the man himself.

"Come on Y/n, I might be 90 but I assure you I won't be boring to be with" Said Steve. If only he knew that he was not boring, at least not for me. He was literally the one who could ignite my heart on fire by just being in the room.

Even if he is the one who will be with me, while the others are on a mission, I'm damn sure I'll be a nervous reck. I mean I have a crush stronger than two magnetic poles attracting each other on Steve.

I noticed the others went out of the room, leaving me and captain Rogers.

"Hey, doll are you feeling okay? I know you really miss going on missions, but trust me, right now getting you better is way important than giving in into your cute antics. I mean we don't want you fainting while trying to take down HYDRA now, do we? " He asked softly as he leaned down, hovering just above me. His arms resting on the sides of my chair, keeping him standing.

"Yeah, I get it. It's just o feel useless without getting to go on a mission" I replied as o ribbed my temples.

"Oh, you're not useless, you're very usefull. Half of us wouldn't even be alive, if it were for you risking your life to save us" He said

"What do you mean? " I asked.

"Well for starters, during the last mission, when to my blasted the building, you were already out, but you came right back inside, just so that you could push a semi consciousnes me put of the way from the collapsing building, this getting trapped below the debris. " He said

"Well, I don't think America would be happy to know that their favourite captain was injured because of a collapsing building. I just saved you from getting your ego bruised" I said

"You saved me from way more than that, doll" He whispered before he straightened up and walked out the door.

"You know, you are smitten by him"Said a voice, making my heart leap out of the rin cage cage.

"You scared me Barnes" I said

"Sorry, I didn't mean to. I guess being an ex assassin has developed a habit inside of me to sneak up on people" He said.

"No problem. Do you need something? " I asked.

"No, well yes, but not for myself" He said and I raised an eye brow.

"Look it's obvious , you're crushing hard on my best friend. I'm just here to say that, if anyone is the best for him, then it is you. " He said

"But, I'm not sure if he even likes me back" I said

"Oh, pretty face, your naive. Steve over there is completely in awe of you. Every night before bed, when I have nightmares and I'm near him and we need to talk about something, he literally rambles on about how he wishes for you to love him back, he is just scared of. Losing your friendship" Said Bucky before he just walked out.

I guess if your bestie with Steve, then Bucky is like the first person you have to impress and get approval of. I remember that the first time Bucky came to the tower, Steve and he were inseparable, I found it cute. Soon when Bucky came to know that I was a close friend of Steve, he started to talk to me. Till date Bucky only trusts Steve, me and Sam with his secrets.

Being on Bucky's good side means, you're protected. I now know why Steve and him have been best friends. He can be pretty adorable and funny when he is not trying to kill you with his arm.

I signed, I guess this is another mission that I will have to sit out. I walked back tog ro which was next to Bucky's and opposite to Steve's. I sat on the bed, rather I belly flopped on it and just lay there for God knows how long.

I had just walked out of the bathroom after a shower when stone knocked on the door

"Come in, it's open" I said as I toed my hair in a loose low pony. I was wearing a loose sweater and some leggings.

"Hello.Doll face. Hope. I'm not disturbing. Everyone left a few minutes ago. I was thinking if you and I have a movie marathon with some comfort food. I may not be a cool, but I can call in some pizza and lay out your favourite Pringles and chocolates with soda along with some popcorn while we sit down in the extravagant Stark cinema down stairs watching your favourite movie" He said

"Sure" I said

"Great, this way I can maybe cheer you up as well" He said as he took put his phone and dialled the pizza store.

Soon both of us were bundled up on the couch with the supplies andy favourite movie rolling. Half way through the movie, I felt sleepy and involuntarily I laid my head on his shoulder.

Steve POV
I felt some weight on my shoulder and looking down I saw Y/n had peacefully laid her head on it, her eyes we're closed and I knew she was just about to dose of.

The strange thing here was that, I didn't wish to wake her up, or move her to her room, I just sat there still and relaxed whole I watched her doze of. Gosh, I was in love with her. I remember that the day the building collapsed on her, I was mess.

If only I had been more alert, I would not have been tranquilized and the she would never have had to risk her life. I remember when I was back to my senses on the quin jet and saw her bleeding and fighting for her life, I felt so guilty. Rushing her to the infirmary and waiting for 5 hours straight for Bruce and the other doctors to stabilize her was the worst wait ever. I was this close to losing her and the thought of that being our last time together was terrifying.

The others ce back and Bucky was the first one to notice our position, he shushed everyone up and them all pairs of eyes we're on us. Smiling sheepishly I spoke
"How was the mission? "

"The mission was great, did you guys confess already? " Asked Bucky as he eyed me and Y/N suspiciously

"Couldn't muster the courage" I said softly

"Capsicule, I may not agree with tin man all the time, but it's about time that you confess your feeling to her. We all can feel that love is in the air, just take plunge" Said Tony as he filled a glass of wine for himself

"I agree with him, this way I can take a break from playing wing woman" Said Natasha

"Yeah, steve, just go for it" Said Sam

"I suggest using a rose for this part " Said Clint

"What if she rejects me? " I asked

"I'll pay you 500 bucks, if that happens, I am damn sure she will accept your love" Said Bucky before he and the others retired to their room

I looked down and realised that, it's now or never, I need to tell her, that I love her and hence when she wakes up and ready to risk everything and tell her about my feelings. The worst thing that can happen is that she will reject me and my love, but still least I will have this thought of my chest.

I scooped her in my arms and the  carried her to her room. As much as having her in my arms is comfy, I doubt it is worth the body pain she will have the following day.

I was just laying her down, on the bed and covering her with the blanket when she opened her eyes and stared at me

"Is it true? " She asked, as k stared at her confused

"What's true? " I asked

"That you like me. Don't hide it, I heard. Everything down stairs,I need to know the truth, in your words. " She asked softly but sternly

"Yes, it is true. I have liked you ever since the day you helped me find my best friend. It's alright if you don't like me back, but please don't. Break our friendship." I said. There was no point hiding it

"Steve, I like you too, in fact I think I might be in love with you" She said and I. Smiled back at her.

"Really? " I asked

"Really" She giggled.

God, her laugh is adorable.

"Well does that mean I can court you? " I asked

"If this is your way of asking me on a date then yes you may" She said and smiled brightly

I heard cheering from outside the door, before everyone barged in

"Finally" Said Bucky as he smiled at us

"Yeah, I saw you were awake Y/N, that why I brought up the discussion " Said Tony with his signature cockiness.

"Yeah, playing wing woman to both of you finally paid off... Guys give me my 20 bucks.. I told you today was the day captain here will ask our best spy on a date" Said Natasha

"You guys placed a bet in this? " Asked Y/n as she say up straight and the others shrugged.

I just shook my head smiling. I am glad I confessed my feeling to her. I mean it did lead us to be a happy couple.
