TWO

Ariana sat in the back of the Quinjet with Natalie sitting next to her and Charles sitting across from her. She hummed softly to herself as the twins conversed and she played with the hem of her shirt. She heard the low hum of the engines as the plane took off and she tried to listen in on their parents conversation between the soundproof door that separated them.

"Do you think any of the others remember us?" Charles asked softly as he looked over at the two girls. Natalie shrugged. "Maybe, I remember a few of them. I remember Sebastian Barnes really clearly, he was cool." Natalie said softly, her voice motioning that she was trying to remember the others.

Ariana thought about it for a moment and furrowed her brows. "I don't remember anything except getting in trouble for taking an piece of an Iron Man suit out of the lab. Then again, we were all, like, 8. I don't really expect them to remember that much." Ari shrugged.

Charles looked over at her and nodded slowly, realizing it had been 8 years since they had seen the other children. He hadn't really remembered the other children or going to the Stark Tower, except when he watched Ariana take the suit part. He felt bad because he had been wondering about the part aloud and she said she would get it for him. He hadn't told her to stop and simply just watched curiously as she went to get the part. Of course, it set off the alarms but Tony and her parents were forgiving. He tried to take the blame for it, but Ariana wouldn't let him. She simply just told her parents that the part had intrigued her and she wanted to take it. He didn't like watching her take the trouble for what he had asked for, but she had told him that it was okay and it wasn't his fault. He still felt bad though.

Natalie hummed to herself as she drummed her fingers along her thighs before putting her feet up on the table and looked at Ariana and Charles. "I wish you could come over more than just during the summer, Ari." She said softly.

Ariana smiled over at her and nodded. "Yeah, it would be a lot of fun if I got to hang out with you guys more. But, mom's busy with her anthropology work across the world and dad's busy working at Pym Tech, so the only real free time we have is during the summer when they're both off." She explained softly and the twins nodded.

"Yeah, dad's always busy with the farm, mom's afraid that he'll work himself to death one day." Charles said as he looked over at her with his warm chocolate brown eyes. "Plus, mom likes to help out at Xavier's to teach young mutants, plus homeschooling Talie and I, she's a little stressed herself."

Ariana nodded understandingly as she studied his face, from the tops of his bushy brows, down to his puppy like eyes, then his long nose, and down to his sharp jawline. She snapped herself out of it quickly as she fidgeted her fingers in her lap and bounced her leg up and down.

"You can't sit still, can you?" Natalie joked playfully and chuckled. Ari smiled as she looked over at her, stopping her leg. "You know me, Talie. I can't sit still ever." She chuckled softly. "You sound like someone else I know. He can't sit still unless he's rewiring a bomb or something." Talie joked as she gestured her head over to Charles.

Charles chuckled and smiled as he looked over at Talie before looking back at Ariana. "Don't worry, I don't make bombs." He said jokingly reassuring as he pushed his hair out his eyes. Ariana smiled as she looked at him. "Awe, too bad, it would make you ten times cooler." She joked playfully. "I'm kidding, by the way. I don't know how you could get any cooler."

Charles blushed lightly and smiled awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his neck. "You think I'm cool?" He asked softly and Natalie grinned over at him and mouthed, 'I told you so.'

Ariana smiled warmly at him, her own light blush claiming her cheeks. "I think you're really cool, Charlie." She said softly, using the nickname that she always called him since they were kids.

James furrowed his brows as he got out once Sebastian had fully parked the car in the garage. "James, could you and Seb get the bags from the back of the car?" His mother called. "Yes ma'am." He said softly as he walked over to Uncle Bucky's car and began unloading it as Sebastian came over and took some of the bags from him.

"You ready for today, Golden Boy?" Seb asked as he looked over at him with a raised brow. "I think so." He said softly as he lifted some of the bags out of the car and began walking up with him. He looked back and made sure that William was following them. He was back there, his head in his phone as he had headphones on. "Nerd." Sebastian mumbled as they walked and James rolled his eyes at him. He was nervous about today, but also a hint of excitement flew through him. He hadn't told the full truth when he said about how much he remembered.

He remembered a very pretty girl who was his age. She had impressed him so much with her fiery spirit but how nice she still was to him. She stood up to Sebastian when he was making smart remarks to her little sister. She had beautiful long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Her name was Astrid Thordottir, and he had a big crush on her when he was 8-years-old and was sure once he saw her again, that feeling would fire up again.

He walked up to the elevator and walked in with Uncle Bucky, Aunt Lilly, his Mom and Dad, Sebastian, and William. He hummed softly to himself as he waited as the elevator went up. The low hum of AC/DC music played through the speakers and his father chuckled softly under his breath with a small smile. The elevator doors opened and they walked out. He looked over and saw a small, pale girl on the couch reading a book. Her dark hair covered her face and her legs were tucked under her as she read. He furrowed his brows until he remembered her as being the daughter of the Banners. He heard the low hum of speaking coming from the kitchen and he set the bags down gently.

"Tony, we're here!" His dad called, and the hum stopped. Suddenly, two men and two women stepped out of the kitchen, all with smiles on their faces. "Ah, the men out of time and the women of the time have arrived." Tony grinned as he shook his dads hand and gave him a hug.

One of the women he recognized as Pepper hugged his mother and Bruce shook his Uncle's hand and Mariela hugged his Aunt. He looked around and saw that William had taken his spot on the couch and had his computer already open which meant there was no chance of communicating with him. Sebastian was already walking around and looking around, so he decided to follow him and look around as well.

Eerikki stood between his sisters as they walked to the Stark tower. He looked around the mortal world, clearly unimpressed as he pushed his blonde hair out of his eyes. He was dressed in all black and green, which clashed in between Inger's white and blue ensemble and Astrid's golden inspired outfit.

He had always stood out in his family. He had never been interested in ruling the kingdom and much rather preferred to read with his mother than to spar or go over Asgardian affairs like his sisters loved to do with their father. He had learned magic through his Uncle, much to his father's dismay, and had picked up on it quickly. Like his sisters, he had already been dubbed his godly title, but of course, it was very unlike the rest of his family's.

Astrid, being the fiery and stubborn war-born girl she was, had always been interested in fighting and combat. She was gifted a necklace that shifted into a real sword at the whisper of the sword's name at the age of 10. She was dubbed the Goddess of Bloodshed and War.

Inger embraced her royal status wherever and when she had the chance. She knew how to get whatever she wanted and she could manipulate her way to the top. She was vain, but clever and knew when she could use her status to make something right. She was dubbed Goddess of Persuasion and Manipulation.

And then there was him. His title was the God of Magic. He wasn't surprised by his title, but he knew that his father would have wanted something related to his title, instead of his Uncle Loki. His mother had assured him that there was nothing wrong, but he didn't believe it.

He snapped back to reality and hadn't realized how far they had walked until he stepped into the elevator with the rest of his family. He looked up at the ceiling and closed his eyes, wishing he was back at the Asgardian library and practicing his spells. He opened his eyes again and walked through the elevator doors.

He looked around and swallowed down his uncomfortable feeling in his stomach as the other families looked over and all smiled warmly at them welcomingly. He took a deep breath and pushed his hair back. He wished he was sociable as Ingrid, or at least as steady as Astrid, but he was himself and he needed to be himself for the next couple of days.

A/N: hope you enjoyed this chapter :) I'm gonna put down some images that I made from polyvore, which I think would show the kids' sense of style. It has a (from right to left) sleep outfit, formal outfit, and everyday outfit.
