Astrid stood in the midst of the children, who all awkwardly stood around the 'game room' that Tony had made for the visit. The parents were upstairs in the living room discussing things that they refused to tell their children, which Astrid was confused to as why.

She leaned against the arm rest of where her younger brother sat, reading and flipping through his worn out spell book. Her younger sister walked aimlessly around the room, clearly unimpressed by the lack of fine architecture that would fill her tidy room.

She looked across the room and hummed softly. She met eyes with James, the boy she had a crush on when she was 8. He had the brightest of blue eyes, ones that seemed to be able to light up a room whenever he opened them. She realized that they had been staring at each other and she blushed and quickly looked away and scowled at herself. She was supposed to be a warrior, she was not supposed to fall for mortal boys.

She quickly got up from her position from leaning against the chair and began walking around the game room. She drummed her fingers along her thigh as she walked and made sure that she kept her walls up, just in case of an attack.

She felt a presence next to her and out of the corner of her eye she saw James and let out a steady breath.

"Astrid, right?" James asked softly as he looked over at her, brushing his blonde locks out of his eyes. "Yes." She said, looking over at him, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder. "You're James, correct?"

"Correct." He smiled a bit and nodded. She couldn't help but smile at how contagious his was as she looked back at the posters that hung up on the walls. "What is a Star War?" She mumbled as she scrunched up her nose at the thought of not being in a war in the stars.

"Oh, it's a movie. It's a really good movie." James said as he looked over at her and put his hands in front of him and interlocked his fingers. Astrid looked at him, furrowing her brows as she looked confused. "A movie? Is that the thing with the moving pictures on the box?"

James smiled a bit, he was used to explaining this sort of thing, since his father had never really gotten the hang of things either. "Yeah, they play it on the TV. But most of the time a lot of people watch them on their phones." He explained and she nodded slowly.

"I could show you some movies in the movie room if you want." He suggested; he had already explored around the tower before the other children had gotten there. "But you don't have to if you don't want to."

Astrid thought for a moment, chewing on her bottom lip. "Of course. That would be great." She said softly as she looked up at him. He smiled his signature "Golden Boy smile" (which made her weak in the knees) and gestured for her to follow him, which she happily complied to.

Ariana had somehow convinced Charles to go explore with her, and he didn't regret it one bit. They walked around slowly, and he got a chance to admire her while she looked around excitedly without his sister teasing him.

"It's been forever since we've been to this place." She said as she looked around. He nodded as he looked at her with a small smile. "Yeah, it's definitely something to get used to." He agreed.

She smiled back at him over her shoulder before looking ahead again. "What do you think Tony summoned our parents here for?" He asked softly as he looked over at her and she stopped and turned to look back at him. "I don't know. Mom says it's just business, but I don't really believe that." She admitted, looking up at him with her juniper green eyes.

"Yeah, I don't think anyone just comes in the middle of October for 'business.' But who knows, our parents our weird." He shrugged as he looked down at her. "Maybe." She said softly. "Or maybe something happened and the Avengers need to assemble again." She suggested.

"I don't think that'll happen. Our parents may want to join the fight again, but they know it's in their best interest to stay out the spotlight." He said, looking back at her with his chocolate brown eyes. "I 'accidentally' overheard them talking about letting us practice training in the training room tomorrow. Why would we need to train? It's not like we're fighting anything." She said softly, rubbing her arms as she felt the cold air coming from the A/C unit.

"Who knows, honestly. Maybe they're preparing us for when we might have to fight." He said, taking off his jacket and wrapping it around her shoulders, making her smile warmly and stick her arms through the holes of the jacket.

"Or they're seeing what our skills are and how we could better improve them for the fight." She said as she cuddled herself into his jacket, enjoying how warm and cozy it was.

"C'mon, let's keep exploring, it's more fun than dealing with issues that are out of our control." He smiled a bit at her and she nodded, returning the fond smile as she took his hand and led him out of the hall and began looking through the rooms to keep her mind distracted from any stealing urges she might have.

William typed away on his computer, his eyes scrolling across the screen as he hummed a bit to himself. He looked over and saw that the blonde boy, whose name he had learned from Natalie to be Eerikki, curled up on the loveseat reading a worn-out copy of an ancient looking book that had strange text and symbols on it.

His sister, Inger, sat across the room, reading one of the magazines that had laid across the coffee table between the couches and loveseats. She occasionally glanced up to check her nails or reflection in the mirror, but for the most part, disinterestedly flipped through the pages of the Seventeen Magazine.

He looked over to see his brother talking to Natalie, the Barton girl with long dirty blonde hair tied into braided pigtails and bright blue eyes that somehow matched her denim overall shorts. Her outfit conflicted with Sebastian's all black attire, but neither seemed to notice or care. Natalie would giggle behind her hand every so often, but the warm smile never left her kind face as she talked to him, Sebastian having a genuine smile on his face as well and his deep chuckle arising to contradict with her giggle.

William rolled his eyes and turned back to the screen. Sebastian was always good with girls, even though he had never actually had a girlfriend. William had never had such the luck. He always stuttered and blushed embarrassed, slowly walking away from the situation and trying to forget it ever happened in the first place.

He looked over next to him, where the petite Banner girl sat, her nose buried into the book. Her dark hair covered her pale face and hid most of her features as she never once looked up. He cleared his throat as he looked down at her, and gave his best (but still awkward) smile.

The girl looked up from her book and returned her own awkward smile. "Hi." She said timidly, her voice low and quiet, and he wouldn't have known she had said anything at all without seeing her lips move. "Hey." He returned kindly, trying to get the awkwardness out of the air. "I don't think I ever properly introduced myself, I'm William Barnes, but my friends usually call me Will or Billy." He said, holding out his hand.

The girl smiled and put down her book and reached out and shook his hand. "Willow Banner, but my friends usually call me Will." She said softly. "Well, it's good to finally meet another Will in this world." He joked and chuckled softly, and she let out the faintest of a chuckle.

He smiled and glanced over at her book, trying to make out the title but it was so worn down that the letters had faded away. "Whatcha reading?" He asked softly. "It's my mom's copy of Harry Potter, it's my favorite book, I've read it a bunch, that's why it's so worn down." Willow spoke quietly, and William assumed that she was afraid of being too loud.

"Makes sense." He smiled and nodded. "What are you working on?" She asked, glancing at his computer. "Oh, I'm working on some engineering plans to help my mom with some of her inventions." He smiled at the thought as he looked at her. "So you're an inventor?" She asked, her eyes lighting up a bit with excitement. "Well, not really. I make the computer design and my mom builds it. I'm better at computer work than anything really, I'm not that good at craftsmanship." He chuckled softly.

She smiled and nodded understandingly. "Yeah, I'm not big on making things. I like to write out equations and solve them, but I don't usually try my hand at building machinery."

He nodded. "I do like coding though, it's a lot of fun. Plus, when coding, you can kind of build your own weapons a bit too." Willow furrowed her brows. "What do you mean?" She asked softly. He smiled a bit and rolled up his sleeves to show his watch. "I coded this a couple months ago." He said softly, typing a code into the surface of the watch and Willow watched as a blue holographic screen flowed in front of him.

"It's a shield, but it can also pinpoint enemies weak spots during an attack." He explained as he looked over at her. Willow looked on in amazement. "That's incredible." She said softly. William blushed lightly and smiled. "Thanks, I get it from my mom."

"Tony, the tesseract was taken back to Asgard with Thor, and it has been locked away since. There's no way that it could be causing the increased levels of gamma rays from space." Hannah said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yes, like Lady Hannah said, I have made sure that the tesseract is in full protection. Nothing can get it." Thor said, sitting down on the couch and leaning his elbows against his knees.

"But what else could it be? Unless Bruce has some alien cousin living out in outer space, which is highly possible but not likely, there's no other explanation to it." Tony said, his brows furrowed as he paced back and forth.

"Tony, maybe your readings were wrong." Steve said as he looked over at him. "I checked it 3 times, nothing changed." Tony said, looking back at him.

Bruce took a deep breath and ran his hands through his wild curls. "Gamma rays just don't magically start going off the charts unintentionally." He mumbled and Mariela frowned and rubbed circles onto his back to calm him down.

"Maybe someone is messing with us. Trying to make us believe that something wrong is happening. So we'll be looking for the wrong thing, then they make their attack." Clint wondered aloud and Scott shrugged and ran his hand through his hair.

"Whatever is going on, we need to make sure we're prepared for an attack that may or may not happen. And that the kids are prepared too." Laia said as she put her hands on her hips.

"I'm with Laia on this one. If something happens to all of us and the kids aren't prepared, who knows what might happen." Jodi agreed, looking at them all.

Lilly nodded slowly and looked up at Bucky who nodded as well. "We can let them train in the training room tomorrow." He suggested and the others nodded.

They could feel the underlying threat approaching, but whatever it was, they hadn't figured out just yet. But they knew damn well that they wouldn't let their kids go through an attack unprepared and unable to defeat the attacker.
