Note: because this story takes place after some MCU projects not yet released such as The Marvels, Loki Sesson 2 etc. Some things being talked about in the following chapter has not happened in the MCU yet, it is scenarios that I made up, explaining what happened in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and The Marvels.

The Avengers signal, a signal that was meant only for the biggest of emergencies. It was implemented by Tony Stark after the battle of New York in 2012. Every new member automatically received a device with the signal, allowing them to attend a holographic meeting. In more serious cases they would have to meet in person. Over the years after the Avengers disbanded, the signal was mainly used for communication between all the remaining heroes of this universe. The signal was used for communication by the Wakandans, the sorcerers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man and all former members of the disbanded Avengers group like Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor, Falcon who recently became Captain America etc.

This time the signal was a code black. Sending the signal out to all who had it in their possession demanding everyone including their newest allies to meet personally at New Asgard. A signal of this high importance was not activated since the Sokovia Accords way back in 2016. A code black was never signaled in history.

The Watcher: A Galaxy at war. Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel accompanied by the notorious Guardians of the Galaxy, Adam Warlock and Monica Rambeau AKA Photon are once again saving yet another planet from a Kree invasion. It is the fifth one this month.

The Guardians have lost good members and great friends during their last big mission to save the Galaxy, some of the newest members left while others did not make it. Drax and Mantis were the ones who died a noble death.

The remaining members are Peter Quill AKA Starlord, Groot once again in his Adult form, Rocket and lastly the Gamora variant from the alternate timeline who was finally found and fit in surprisingly fast with the group she has no memory of.

Adam Warlock:

Adam Warlock is a powerful immortal being with cosmic powers making him capable of rivalling the likes of Thor, Vision, Hulk, Ikaris and Captain Marvel. He was created to destroy the Guardians, but he had a mind of his own and turned out to be a force for good.

Monica Rambeau known as Photon:

Monica Rambeau gained similar cosmic abilities through entering and exiting the Hex that Wanda Maximoff put over a small town called Westview, when she inadvertantly created a false reality, broadcasting it as a television sitcom known as Wandavision.

Photon was recruited by Nick Fury after the whole Westview situation. After being recruited, she fought alongside Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and several other heroes against a Skrull invasion.

The Watcher: The Kree Empire has taken over majority of the most influential planets in the Andromeda Galaxy. After the destruction of Thanos and his army, the Kree saw it as an opportunity to change the hierarchy of power and control. Out of the thousands of planets in this Galaxy, the Kree Empire is already in occupation of more than 40%, but to them it is not enough. They have armies spread out across the Galaxy trying to conquer all the planets that are not yet under their banner. Even for an empire as strong as the Kree, it proves to be a difficult task because of the sheer unimaginable number of planets out there... and these heroes thwarting their plans.

Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock flew above the planet's atmosphere, destroying Kree ships one after the other with relative ease.

Rocket and Starlord steered the Benatar ship inside the planet's atmosphere, shooting down any ship that somehow got past the two heroes above.

Gamora, Nebula and Groot were on the ground, fighting off Kree soldiers who already landed. Photon was flying through the city, shooting down ships that were terrorizing the civilians. The heroes were communicating through comms in their ears.

Gamora: Carol, what's the status up there? Rocket, why are there so many ships reaching the city!?

Rocket: Why are you asking me!? Tell that to Danvers up there!

Captain Marvel: The ships are a lot more than usual, it's swarming like bees up here!

Nebula: They are just ships! Why is it so hard to just take them down before they reach the city?

Captain Marvel: If you were up here, you'd have a lot more respect for "just ships". There are hundreds of ships already pursuing me as we speak. Thousands more are still appearing out of hyperspace by the second!

Starlord: Usually these guys are a lot dumber. What happened to just invading with a mothership?

Photon: Maybe they finally realized that Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock can literally destroy motherships in ten seconds.

Adam Warlock: I can do it in five.

Captain Marvel: (Rolls her eyes and smirks) Sure you can.

Adam Warlock: They are beginning to strategize their attacks, sending thousands of individual ships instead. They know we are only a few.

As the war raged on, the Avengers signal finally reached them. Captain Marvel opened the holographic message on her wrist while flying through space shooting down ships with her other hand. The message appeared in the Guardians' ship as well.

Captain Marvel: Are any of you seeing this?

Starlord: What? The message that just came through?

Photon: What message?

Captain Marvel: It's a code black...

Groot had a comically shocked facial expression when he heard the words coming from her mouth, his eyes widened hilariously.

Groot: I am Groot... (His voice sounded like that of someone telling a ghost story around a campfire)

Rocket: Stop being so dramatic Groot. What could possibly be worse than Thanos?

Groot: I am Groot?

Starlord: Yeah well this planet is also in danger right now! Whatever it is, the Avengers can handle it.

Captain Marvel: No they can't... A code black was put in place by me, after the battle on Earth against Thanos. It was meant to be activated in case something of that magnitude ever happens again.

Rocket: And what does that mean? The universe is at stake again? Great! Just what I needed today. If I had a nickel for every time we had to save the entire universe... I'd have two nickels... Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happening twice.

Groot: I am Groot?

Rocket: No, the first time was just the Galaxy and the second time was still not the entire universe. There's a difference between saving a Galaxy and saving the Universe.

Groot was shocked over hearing that there are other galaxies outside the one they were in right now.

Groot: I am Groot!?

Rocket: (Put his hand on his face) You're telling me... This whole time you thought that this Galaxy... Was the entire universe!?

Starlord: Wait, it isn't?

Rocket: Buddy, this is one Galaxy out of trillions. You literally come from another Galaxy. Earth is in the Milky Way.

Groot: I am Groot.

Rocket: No, it's very far away from here, but luckily we can go anywhere in an instant with our ship.

Photon: Relax, furrface. He's a tree for crying out loud. What do you expect?

Rocket: What did you just call me?

Peter was still awestruck over the realization that he's been inside a whole other Galaxy for most of his life.

Starlord: This entire time I thought we were In the Milky Way Galaxy!

Rocket: (Sighs) I'm surrounded by a bunch'a idiots...

Captain Marvel: Are you guys always like this? We need to focus on the problem at hand! The entire universe might be ending!

Starlord: Here I thought I was gonna take a nice long nap after all this was over. (Sighs) So to who do we owe the thanks for sending these dark tidings?

Captain Marvel: That's what's worrying me. The signal was sent by Asgard.

Rocket: Are we just supposed to know what that means or...

Captain Marvel: Asgard was once the most powerful civilization in the entire known universe, they watched over the nine realms. At one point they were even mistaken to be gods by humans on Earth years ago. It means whatever the threat is, Asgard took it upon themselves to call everyone, with a code black, no less. which can only be a bad sign.

Adam Warlock: What do you suggest we do? We can't possibly be in two places at once.

Captain Marvel: We won't have to.

Adam Warlock: What does that imply?

Captain Marvel: I've seen you fight, Adam. You are more than capable of saving an entire planet from a Kree invasion. The only reason we are doing it together is because it saves time... and lives, of course.

Adam Warlock: But if what you said is true, if the entire universe is at stake...

Captain Marvel: We saved the universe without you before. Besides, it's not like your absence will be the reason the entire freaking universe ends.

Adam Warlock: I guess you are correct... Then go. I'll take care of this. But as soon as I'm done, I'm coming to help you, whatever the threat may be.

Captain Marvel: Oh I have no doubt you will. See you soon, Golden boy.

Adam just gave a small smirk in reaction to the nickname Carol gave him.

Photon: Shouldn't I stay here as well?

Captain Marvel: The message indicates that we should bring as many allies as possible. I believe we are needed there a lot more than we are needed on this planet.

Adam Warlock: Go, I'll handle it. The ships are already decreasing in numbers. I even saw some fleeing away just now.

Starlord: So, what's the plan, Cap?

Captain Marvel: Go pick up the rest and set a course for New Asgard. I'll meet you there.

In a blink of an eye, Captain Marvel shot out into the stars, leaving a trail of golden energy. In an instant, she flew out of the Andromeda Galaxy, setting her sights on the Milky Way Galaxy, 2.5 Million light-years away. Starlord and Rocket picked up Gamora, Photon, Nebula and Groot. The Benatar then lifted off the ground.

Starlord: Yeah I'm never getting used to following orders.

Rocket: Oh come on, Quill! I thought you were gonna say something catchy!

Starlord: We didn't fly away yet. But now you ruined the moment!

Rocket: Just say it!

Starlord: It won't be as cool now!

Groot: I am Groot!

Rocket: No Groot, it just doesn't work when you say it.

Gamora: Are you guys seriously hovering above the ground, arguing over saying some stupid line when the entire universe may be at stake!?

Nebula: Welcome to your new normal, sis. Don't worry, you get used to it eventually.

Photon: What's the matter with you people?

Groot: I am Groot.

Starlord: I told you I'm not saying it!

Rocket: Fine! I'll say it...

Rocket's face created a look of determination. His eyes were focused and he smiled ever so slightly to the right. He then paused dramatically before uttering the words.

Rocket: Time to save the universe...

Everyone was akwardly silent for a moment, with the ship still hovering above the ground.

Starlord: Seriously? That's all you could think of?

Rocket: Well usually you're the one saying the catchy lines before lifting off into space.

Photon: Enough! Just go!

Rocket: Don't look at me, I'm just the co-pilot.

Groot: I am Groot.

Starlord: (Groans) fine.

The Benatar lifted off, blasting into space. A hexagonal shaped portal opened up and they flew through it.

Earth
Jersey City

Kamala Khan, known as Ms Marvel.

Kamala was sitting in math class while once again daydreaming about superheroes and processing the fact that she has become one herself, and the fact that she recently just met her idol, Captain Marvel a few months back. As she was daydreaming, she suddenly got a message on her phone, "Ms Marvel, meet me on the roof." She was startled for a moment since a random number just texted her on her personal phone, calling her by her "superhero" alias, a name only a few people know about.

She got nervous as she had no idea wether this person was a threat or an ally. She looked around the classroom, then looked at the teacher. She ran to his table and faked a nervous tone.

Ms Marvel: Mr. Johnson, I really need to go to the bathroom! It's very urgent!

Mr. Johnson: Kamala, why is it that you always seem to want to go out of the classroom?

Ms Marvel: I have a very bad stomach thing. It gets very ugly, trust me! If you don't let me go I'm gonna puke all over your table.

Mr. Johnson: That is the oldest trick in the book. If you think I'm gonna fall for th...

Before he could finish his sentence, she acted as if she wad about to vomit all over him, then she held her hand over her mouth. Mr. Johnson acted out of instinct and shouted.

Mr. Johnson: Okay! Okay! Go! Just go! Now!

Ms Marvel: Thanks!

She gave him a smile, almost in a mocking way, then she ran out of the classroom.

Mr. Johnson: (Sighs and mumbles) I don't get paid enough for this crap.

Kamala ran to the bathroom, put on her costume and climbed outside through one of the windows. She ran to the roof with her purple cosmic constructs creating solid floating matter underneath her feet.

She was shocked when she saw Captain Marvel floating above the roof, waiting for her. Although she has met her, she still can't help but be starstruck at the sight of her.

Ms Marvel: It's you! Captain Marvel! (She starts hyperventilating)

Captain Marvel: Hey, "Ms Marvel". Would you care to join me in saving the universe?

Ms Marvel: Saving the what!?

Captain Marvel: You heard me.

Ms Marvel: But what about school? My parents? Do you know how much trouble I got into the last time I went with you?

Carol burst out into laughter, the entire universe probably hangs in the balance while Kamala is worried about little everyday things as if the universe can wait. It reminded Carol of how innocent Kamala still is.

Ms Marvel: What's so funny?

Captain Marvel: Nothing, you're just funny. Now let's get going. The Avengers are waiting for us in New Asgard.

Kamala got extreme excitement after hearing those words, she's looked up to these heroes ever since she was a little girl. She drew pictures of them, created fanpages dedicated to them, she even created her own YouTube channel dedicated to them. Now she is going to meet every single one of them, in person, and fight alongside them.

Ms Marvel: The Avengers!? New Asgard!? Am I dreaming right now!?

Captain Marvel: I wish it was a dream, but this is very real, and very dire. You chose this path. Look, I am going in just as blind as you. All I know is that you have power, Kamala, and with...

Ms Marvel: (Interrupts) With great power comes great responsibility, I know. Spider-Man said it this one time on live television. It actually motivated me to finish my history homework for some reason.

Captain Marvel: That's... not what I was about to say... We don't have time for this.

Captain Marvel landed on the roof, grabbed her with both her arms and they lifted up into the air.

Captain Marvel: Hold on tight!

Before Kamala could finish her reply, Captain Marvel flew away with her at amazing speeds, even breaking the sound barrier. Kamala luckily formed a protective shield around her with her cosmic bangle, preventing the speed from hurting her.

Ms Marvel: Wait whaaAaahAAhhhh!!!!

Hawkeye's farmhouse

Clint (Hawkeye) and Kate (also Hawkeye), were outside the house, a whole obstacle course has been set out as Kate ran through it.

-Kate Bishop AKA Hawkeye#2:

Clint was holding a stopwatch while Kate was running and jumping over hurdles, vaulting over wooden structures, ducking wires and plastic arrows being shot from multiple directions while she shot multiple targets on the red dot with her bow. The Avengers signal suddenly went off inside the house. Laura, Clint's wife, ran outside to hand him the device.

Melancholy surrounded the area as he read the message, then looking over at Kate, still practicing. He saw that it was a code black, the last time something this big happened, he lost his entire family for five whole years, thinking they were gone forever. Not to mention he lost his best friend, Natasha (Black Widow).

Laura: You have to Go. It's okay, Clint.

Hawkeye: Laura I...

Laura: You don't have to worry about us every time.

Hawkeye: It's not you I'm worried about. I can't keep doing this, Laura. How long before I never make it back home? gods, monsters, aliens, wizards, other universes... I'm just a guy with a bow and arrow.

Laura gently touched him on his cheek while he closed his eyes.

Laura: You are an Avenger, Clint. They see something in you. You have value. Whether it's motivation, leadership or just your sheer will and bravery to put your life on the line every time, forgetting about your vulnerability for the greater good. Why do you think they keep reaching out to you? You're one of the best people I've ever had the privilege to have met in my life. It's the reason I married you.

He stared at Kate, not wanting her to get involved in this, thinking she was not ready for something like this yet. But he knew better than anyone that she would not listen to him.

Hawkeye: What about the kid?

Laura: Kate?

Hawkeye: She has her entire life ahead of her. What if she doesn't make it back from this?

He briefly recalled the moment he went to Vormir with Natasha and leaving without her after she sacrificed herself for the soul stone.

Hawkeye: I can't go through that again.

Laura: I can't make that decision for you, Clint. Listen to your heart, let it guide you. Destiny brought you two together, she chose this life because of you. Nothing you do will change that now.

Hawkeye: I just don't know what I should do.

Laura: You will know what the right decision is when you make it.

Laura then walked back into the house. Clint thought long about what she just said. After a short while, Kate shot her final arrow from her bow into the last target. Clint then stopped his stopwatch. Kate, soaking wet from the training session and out of breath, exits the course and approaches Clint.

Kate: Please tell me I finally beat your record. I've been doing this for two hours!

Hawkeye: You lost your focus.

Kate: When?

Hawkeye: You got distracted for a moment by what I was doing. You missed my record by two seconds.

Kate: Oh come on! That's not fair!

Hawkeye: I told you a hundred times, never lose your focus when you are on the field.

Kate: Well it's not my fault, you gave me a look while reading some holographic message! What is wrong? (She gets excited for a moment and gasps) Is it the Avengers!? Are we assembling!? Can I come?

Hawkeye: (Sighs) Kate, you are not an Avenger. The Avengers are not even a thing anymore.

Kate: Then what's going on?

Hawkeye: (Raises his voice slightly) Look, this is not some game!

Clint stayed silent, but his expression gave everything away. Kate lost her excitement. A confused but worried feeling came over her.

Kate: Clint? What is going on?

Clint suddenly began attacking her, but only to test her, to see if she is ready. They've done this multiple times already, sometimes she would also randomly start attacking him out of the blue. Clint usually comes out on top but she is catching up as of late. He swings his fist toward her face. She dodges it and catches his fist with both her hands. She jumps on top of him and does some wacky grappling moves all over his body, he falls to the ground. He swings his leg on the ground, trying to trip her, she vaults over it and rolls to the left. They engage in fast hand to hand combat, Clint gets her in a grapple hold but she breaks free, then she catches him in a grapple hold but he breaks free as well. The fight goes on for some time, trading blows, kicks and grapples until finally Kate gets the upper hand. She grabs his arm from behind and shoves her knee into his back, he falls to the ground on his knees while Kate holds him in an arm lock. He taps out. She lets go and helps him back up.

Kate: What was that all about? Oh and for the record, if I beat you one more time, it becomes a tie.

Hawkeye: (Sighs) Suit up, it's time to go.

Kate: Go... You mean, I can come with you!?

Hawkeye: (Mumbles) Now I'm already regretting my decision.

Kate: What was that?

Hawkeye: Nothing.

In a playful manner, Clint punched her very lightly on her shoulder as they walked toward the Quinjet inside the barn. A big smile appeared over Kate's face, the excitement returned. She is finally going to meet her heroes, The Avengers! The thought of not only meeting them, but fighting alongside them was enough to make her want to squeal in excitement, but she kept it inside.
