It had been 5 damn years. 5 years since you last saw Peter Parker. 5 years since you last hugged your parents. 5 years since you felt...whole. The only thing you had to even partially fill the void you now had was a pretty ring Peter had given you for your birthday; a rose gold band with a tear drop quartz stone in the center. But he was gone, as were a lot of other people.

Everyone at school had dubbed the whole ordeal 'The Blip'. You thought it was a stupid name, but it didn't matter. What mattered was that you were pretty sure you were depressed. But because your parents 'blipped' you couldn't go to the doctor and stuff.

Some of your friends, you found out, blipped too, even some after the incident you had with Mr. Stark including Flash, MJ, and Ned. May was gone too when you got back to her apartment. You didn't remember how long, but you sat in their living room bawling for what felt like an eternity. The landlord forced you to leave at some point and you walked back to the place you called home.

But when you got there, realtors were claiming it as vacant property and made you pack up and leave. As a powerless 15 year old, you listened and took everything you could and left. Mr. Stark felt really bad, and offered to give you a room in his house by the lake. It was nice, and Pepper accepted you with open arms.

At the moment, you were playing with Morgan out in her tent. She was wearing something that looked like an Iron Man helmet, but blue rather than red. You were skeptical that it was for her, but that's what she told you and you went with it (Mr. St- Tony was unpredictable so it made some sense).

You heard rustling outside the tent and then a voice. It was Tony, calling for Morgan and you for lunch. When she stepped out with the helmet on, Tony said it was for Pepper, and you realized you had been duped.

"Morgan Stark! You told me it was just a toy your dad made for you!" you exclaimed, laughing through the whole thing. Morgan just gave you a little mischievous grin and laughed.

Tony led you and carried Morgan into the house for lunch. You were almost there, but then you spotted a car that had just pulled up with people coming out of it. Tony sighed and handed Morgan over to you.

"Go ahead and take her inside. I'll deal with them," Tony said, already putting the five year old into your hold. She was heavy, but you managed to hold her and carry her in.

Pepper was inside, setting some stuff down on the table and getting some drinks. She looked over when heard your footsteps. She smiled at you, and then at Morgan. You set the smaller one down and she ran over to her mom. They hugged, and then Pepper walked over to you. Giving you a small side hug, she looked for her husband. "Where's Tony? Did he get lost?" she asked you seriously.

You let out a laugh and shook your head. "No, a car pulled up and some people popped out. He didn't look thrilled, but told me to step in here with Morgan," you said. Pepper nodded, and the three of you sat at the table and waited for Tony.

After a few minutes, Pepper sighed and got Morgan's attention, previously being held by some toys she had. "Morgan, I need you to go save your dad from whoever's out there, okay?" she asked her, and Morgan jumped up. She sped outside to her dad to 'save' him from whoever showed up.

You went to play with the ring on your finger, only to find it wasn't there. It took you a second to realize that your finger was indeed naked, and then you went to check your jacket and jean pockets to see if you shoved it in there. Unlikely, but possible. But it wasn't there either.

"Crap," you whispered under your breath. Pepper turned to you, asking 'what's wrong?' with her eyes and tilted head. "I can't find my ring...oh wait! I let Morgan wear it for a second! And it was too big- ugh it must've fallen off back in the tent!" You got up and told Pepper you'd be right back, then hurried out to the door.

On the way out you nearly ran over Tony, who was carrying Morgan back inside. "Sorry, I just need to grab my ring from the tent outside!" You continued to hurry outside, ignoring the people still lingering on the porch near the stairs and opting to just hurl yourself over the railing of the porch.

You hurried over to the tent and opened the flap harshly, nearly bringing the whole thing down. Luckily you grabbed it in time for it to stay put. Now: to find your ring.

As you crawled inside, something reflected the sun into your eyes. You looked over and saw your ring sitting nicely on a little table. "Found it!" you exclaimed, and grabbed the piece of jewelry. The band slid onto your finger as always, and you felt a little piece of you come back, even if it was just a small piece.

You exited the small tent and started to hurry back inside for lunch, when the visitors caught your attention. Apparently, you had caught theirs as well. They were all staring at you, one with wide eyes, one with furrowed brows, and one was glaring.

"Hi," you mumbled, giving a little wave. When no one responded, you started to mess with your ring by twirling it around your finger. "I was uhm, just going inside." You avoided their eyes and made your way to the porch stairs this time to avoid anymore awkwardness between you and them.

They were still close to the stairs, so you had to really hug the porch side and stair railing to avoid any contact with them. As you started your ascend up the stairs, a hand reached out and grabbed your wrist. You spun around and came face to face with the female in the group. Now, that you were close together, you could see who she was.

"Who are you?" she asked. You were stunned into a silence that you were talking to the Black Widow. She was one of your favorite superheroes. God how could you ignore her and just breeze past her! You beat yourself up in your head before realizing you still needed to answer the question.

You tried to free your hand to play with your ring, but her grip was tight. Your mouth was opening to say something, when Tony came out and spoke. "Hey (Y/n) have you found your ring?" You turned around again and saw Tony there. "Nat, you can let her go."

The assassin let go of you hand and you immediately went to mess with your ring. "S-sorry, I'm just not very good with talking to people and stuff," you said, mostly looking down at her shoes and your own. Tony placed a hand on your shoulder and signaled for the two of you to head in. He waved goodbye at the other Avengers, Captain America and Ant-Man, and the two of went inside.

As soon as the door shut, you started talking. "I'm sorry Tony I just couldn't form words for the life of me. I mean, I love Black Widow and I just made myself look like an idiot all because I just can't social stuff with P- him gone."

You almost said a name you hadn't in a very long time. Peter's name had been difficult for both you and Tony to say it even hear. You guys shared a knowing look. "Let's go to lunch," Tony said, and the two of you walked back to Morgan and Pepper.

~~

It had been a couple days since Tony cracked time travel and left for the Avengers facility. You felt extremely awkward staying with Morgan and Pepper, but Morgan treated you like a sister and made sure you felt like that.

It was on the second day after Tony left that you got a phone call from your grandmother. "Grandmother, what's wrong?"

"Honey, I just got to New York and found your house with new owners. I was...I was afraid you were one of the...unfortunate people..."

You let out a sigh and sat down. "This is the first time we've spoken in years. What took you so long?" There was a pause, and you could only hear her breathing. You decided to keep talking. "You abandoned mom and dad when she fell pregnant, and refused to abort the baby like you said. You've always had a strained relationship with us, so why do you care now? After what happened last time you were here? After you yelled at me and told my mother that, and I quote, 'wouldn't of happened if you had just gotten rid of it like I said'. Why now?"

There was an uncomfortable silence between the two of you, and you just realized how loud you spoke when there was silence in the rest of the house. You got up from the couch you were at and decided to take the conversation outside. As you walked, she spoke again.

"I'm so sorry dear. I wish you understood how much I regretted saying that. It was so rude of me, I want to make things right. You and I, we're all we each have left-"

"You know what, no. Just stop right there. I lost so much because of the blip. I lost my parents, my best friends, my boyfriend, everyone who ever cared about me. Then I met someone. He was so kind and he took me in and let me stay with his family. With his five year old daughter. In everything except blood, I'm her big sister. And they...they're more family than you could ever be."

Without even waiting for her reply, you hung the phone up and let out an angry burst of air. All these emotions were now just filling your head. Everything felt weird. You needed to go for a drive. You sent Pepper a quick text letting her know you were heading out on a drive and got into the car Tony said you could have. To be fair, he had a lot.

With the top down and the music blaring, you sped down the road. It cut through the woods, so you didn't have to deal with those stupid skyscrapers and other honking cars. It was just you, the wind in you hair, and music in your ears. This was your alone time, and you sure as hell needed it.

~~

You drove for about two hours before finding a little spot where you were able to just sit. The lake was in front of you, and the worries about your life were far away back in the city. The water was still, calming you inside. That was when it happened.

There was something floating on the lake. It was large, but not large enough to see what it even was. You looked around to see if you could find where it came from, and found a large group of people hustled around the edge of the lake. It looked like one, big solid block of black. As you looked at them, you saw they were alarmingly close to Tony's house.

Realization hit you hard, and you sprinted back to your car and just jumped in over the door. To you, your seatbelt wasn't a priority, and you just put the car in gear and sped off. Your breathing was heavy and shallow, your mind was racing and blank. At this point, you were on autopilot.

As you neared your home of the past five years, you saw way too many cars and way too many people. You were terrified to find out what happened. It could be anyone, really. Maybe Tony just offered to have the ceremony here. Yeah, you were in denial. The question was what you were in denial about.

You turned the car off and just dropped the keys into the cup holder, and pulled yourself up and over the car door again. Your feet carried you over to the crowd. Pepper saw you first. She met you half way and stopped you before you could get closer.

"Pepper, what the hell is happening? Wh-what's going on?" you asked frantically, trying to get around her. People were starting to look now. You just couldn't find the people you were looking for.

Pepper grabbed your shoulders to still you. "(Y/n), I'm sorry you had to come home to this. Tony..." She couldn't even continue, because tears started to pour down her face. Judging by her red and swollen eyes, you knew this wasn't the first time.

"What? No...he-he can't be. You...Morgan...no..." You couldn't understand why you were so upset. For crying out loud, you were speaking to his now widow. And Morgan lost her father. You felt as though you had no right to be upset. Sure, you two got close over the five years of suffering, helping each other. He felt like another dad to you. But weren't as close as he was with everyone else there. You didn't have a right to be sad.

You held your emotions in and hugged Pepper. She had reduced to sobs (again, no doubt) and you needed to be her shoulder for even just a moment. "I'm so sorry Pepper," you said, cursing yourself silently when the words came out wobbly. "Let's just...head inside."

You helped her up the stairs, completely ignoring everyone else there. They understood Pepper's pain, so they just let her be. Once the two of you got to the kitchen table she sat sat down, resting her elbows on the table and putting her face into her hands. "I'll leave you alone for a bit," you whispered, scared that if you spoke any louder all the emotion would come out too.

The couch wasn't too far, but far enough so Pepper wouldn't hear you sobbing into a pillow. And that's exactly what you did. For a couple minutes you just sat and cried. When footsteps came and were heading in your direction, you ceased your cried and wiped any remaining tears from your face.

"(Y/n)?" Your eyes widened and you took in a sharp breath. That voice...you'd know it anywhere. You stood up and spun around.

"Peter?" you whispered, terrified your mind was playing tricks on you. But it wasn't. You and Peter ran to each other, and collided into a hug with him nearly taking you down. Now you really couldn't hold back your tears, and you cried into Peter's shoulder.

He started to lead the two of you over to the couch so you guys could sit. Your entire body shook as you hugged Peter and cried. He was back, back into your life, back into the world. You had the love of your life back in your arms.

"God (Y/n) I'm so sorry. I got on the spaceship and we went to this planet, and we fought this big purple thing, and the wizard ended up giving him this green stone, and then suddenly I didn't feel so good, and it went like, blank for a while, but then I woke up and I had to go fight. I guess the gist is I'm really sorry."

You lifted your head up and looked at Peter. He hadn't changed at all; he still looked like a sixteen year old. "You haven't changed at all," you whispered to him, and finally managed to look into his eyes. "I missed you so much."

Finally, after five damn years, Peter pulled you in for a kiss. It slow, and just like you remembered it. It made you feel truly amazing, and it was heating up quickly. But you pulled away before it became too much and led to something else. Peter opened his eyes up and looked at you confused.

"Peter, I don't think...this will work anymore. I'm 20 years old now, and you're 16. Our relationship is kind of illegal. Besides, I already graduated using the online program when I came to move up here, and you have to go back to school, and I'm sure you'll meet someone else that either went with you, or grew up or whatever. I love you Peter, always have and always will, but until our relationship can be legal we can't be together.

"I'll wait for you, but I won't hold you back." With that you stood up and walked up to your room, leaving Peter to think about some things.

~4 years later~

Not too long after Tony's death and your short-lived reunion with Peter, you headed off to Parson's School of Design on a scholarship. The school was in New York City, and you spent most of your time there. But during the summer, you went back up to live with Pepper and Morgan.

Now, you graduated with a degree in Fashion Design, and soon planned on starting a clothing company. For now, you were hanging out with 9 year old Morgan while her mother was out with the New Avengers.

"Have you been enjoying school and everything, Morgan?" you asked as she messed around with her father's cool hologram table thing. It was apparently where he cracked time travel. Morgan loved it so much, her favorite thing was just designing her own suit with some of your inputs.

She paused on her fifth suit and looked over at you, taking her time to think about her answer. "It's alright I guess. I just wish I could be 'Morgan Stark' at school and carry on my dad's legacy better, ya know? Mom wanted me to go by 'Potts' so I could be a bit less of a celebrity, and I get that." She sighed and sat down on a nearby chair, and stared longingly at the suit.

"I might ask mom if I can go by 'Stark' next year. I mean, she still does. I want to too," she said, and you heard her sniff. You got up and walked over to her.

You leaned down and engulfed her into a hug. "I think she'll understand. She just wanted to make sure you weren't bombarded with a bunch of people's questions and others begging for autographs or something," you said. You felt her smile into your shoulder.

"Thanks (Y/n)." You guys pulled away and she went back to her suit, and you pulled a chair closer to the table so you wouldn't feel so far from her. "So, what do you think you're going to do now that you graduated college, congrats again by the way."

You smiled. "Thanks Morgan. I kinda don't know. I'll move out of here, that much I know. If I want to start a business in the city, I have to be close to it," you said, mostly just thinking aloud at this point. Morgan just nodded along, listening while designing. "I guess my next thing to go apartment hunting.

"Until I get a great apartment, I'll stay here," you said. Morgan's face lit up like the sun when you said the last sentence. You couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. For the rest of the evening you two worked together on the suit.

The next morning Pepper was back and Happy was there as well, so you decided to head down to New York to look for apartments. If you couldn't find any, you'd take your search online.

You sat in a Starbucks drinking some (y/f/d) and eating some breakfast. The little bell on the door opened and you heard a gasp, causing your head to look up at who entered.

"Peter."

"(Y/n)...after all this time?"

"Always."
