For Adwitiya

For Adwitiya

Requested by imnotrevealingmyname and I am so sorry it's so late! But, I hope you like it :)

The girl sat up slightly from the bed she was in, unsure of where she was or what had brought her there. The last thing she could remember was being in the middle of a battle. Trying to remember any more than that caused her to get a massive headache, so she stopped trying. In fact, trying to think of anything caused her a great deal of pain and confusion.

Looking around her, she saw there was a small table next to the bed she was in that had a glass of water, a small plate of what looked like fruit and crackers, and a piece of paper. On her wrist, she saw a very simple, silver bracelet.

After eating all the food and chugging the water and ignoring the jewelry, she turned to look at the paper. She picked it up and realized it was folded, so Adwitiya unfolded it quickly to read what was inside.

"Dearest Adwitiya,

If you're reading this, I am afraid that means nothing good for me. Ask Thor the first chance you get and everything will be explained.

With love."

She stared at the note, confused on who could have written this and who Thor was. She couldn't remember anything except for a glimpse of the battle and what has happened since she's woken up. Nothing made sense.

A door she hadn't even noticed opened and in came a very large man with long blond hair and a beard. He was wearing some armor type clothes and carrying a large hammer. When he looked at her and noticed she was awake, he suddenly looked very excited and hurried over to the bedside without closing the door.

"Adwitiya! Y-you're awake! How are you feeling?" His rambling took her very off guard, deciding he was too excited to be a doctor of any sort. That and his outfit choice.

She couldn't bring herself to the same level of excitement and just nodded and cleared her throat. "I'm fine. I just woke up, so nothing has happened yet," she said, remaining polite. There was something on this man's face that looked like a mix between disappointment and confusion.

He looked down at her hand and saw the piece of paper in her hand. "Ah, so I see you have read Loki's note. We apologize for it being so vague, but nothing was certain when he wrote it and you deserved any explanation we could give you-"

Adwitiya shook her head and interrupted the man. "Wait, I'm sorry, but I don't know who you or this 'Loki' person are," she confessed. The man stopped and stared for a moment.

The room was silent for a while, as the two stared at each other, the man looking at her with fear and Adwitiya looking at the man with confusion. "No, no this is not good," he whispered, and then he ran back out of the room.

She sat there in the bed, and looked out the door. That was not what she expected to see when first waking up. Hopefully now an actually doctor would come in. It was just dawning on her that something was wrong... it was like she remembered nothing at all. Adwitiya read over the note a couple more times to try and see if she could remember anything- anything would do.

As she sat and thought, while ignoring the ache in her head, she completely missed when someone else walked into the room until they cleared her throat. When they did, she gasped and her head shot up to see who was there. There were two men, the one from before and a much smaller man with darker hair, glasses, and a lab coat that made him seem like he was a doctor.

He came over to her side and opened the drawer to the side table. She watched as he pulled out a clipboard and pen. As soon as both were in his hands, he started writing things down and asking questions. When she looked a bit closer, Adwitiya saw some weird stuff on his glasses. It looked like words and numbers but she could hardly read it since it was backwards for her.

"How are you feeling, Adwitiya?" the doctor asked her.

She shrugged. "A bit weird. I don't really remember anything other than being in a battle, maybe, and everything that has happened since I've woken up a few minutes ago," she confessed. "I don't know who either of you are and I don't know who wrote this note." She held up the piece of paper. "And I feel like I should."

The doctor looked saddened by this news. There were no words spoken for a moment while the doctor wrote things down and more digits scrolled along his glasses. The other man sat down in a chair and was rubbing his face with both hands; the hammer had been placed on the floor next to his feet.

"I- I'm sorry," she whispered. The sadness coming from the men made her hurt inside and she felt responsible. In a way, she was.

The doctor shook his head. "No, it's not your fault," he said. The strain in his voice told her otherwise. She looked to the piece of paper as she tried to think about who it could be- who was this Loki and why did he love her?

The large man suddenly jumped up from his chair, scaring the other two in the room. He looked between the two of them and then grabbed the large hammer. "I will be right back, I have an idea!" he called out, then ran from the room.

Instead of commenting, the doctor shook his head and continued to write on his clipboard. Every now and then, he would look at her and something new would come up on his glasses.

After a few minutes, the man came rushing back in the room and over to the other side of the bed Adwitiya was on. "Please, take this," he pleaded. She looked down at the object in his hands and picked it up gently with her own. It was a beautiful necklace made of gold and other gorgeous gems that sparkled no matter how much she held it. There was a strange... energy to the necklace. When Adwitiya focused on it, she felt everything black out around her.

~~

Everything hurt. Not only was body aching and throbbing in several different places, but I was so scared that I felt like everything was closing in around me as well. I didn't even know where I was, so that added to my fear. All I could see was that I was in between two very big and tall buildings.

I gently removed my hand from my stomach to see both covered in blood. Just looking at the wound made me think of the man who gave it to me, and how I killed him. Tears started to pour down my cheeks again, and I leaned my head back against the wall I was sitting up against. The poor man and his colleagues were just protecting themselves from me, and I just had to go and kill them. It's not like I wanted to, I just couldn't control it.

"Hey, kid," someone said from the alley opening. I jumped slightly and looked over at them in alarm. The person held their hands up. "Hey, it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you."

They started to walk towards me, so I tried to scoot back. "I'm not worried about you hurting me... I'm worried about it being the other way around," I said. My voice was much shakier than I wish it had been, but I couldn't control it.

As they got closer to me, I was able to focus on them a bit easier to notice they were a man. He was tall (well, everyone was tall to me since I was kind short) and was wearing a very expensive looking suit. I finally had to stop trying to move away because it hurt too much, so I just got prepared.

Instead of attacking or anything, he stopped walking and squatted to be down at my eye level, remaining a few feet away from me. "I said I wasn't going to hurt you, and I'm not lying. And by the looks of it, I don't think you can do much to me either."

I shook my head. "I- I can't control it... I'm hurt but sometimes I just can't stop it from happening," I whimpered.

The man sat there and thought for a second. It looked like he just froze. I made a noise of pain from the wound in my stomach, which caused him to refocus back in on me and my injury. "I can help you, okay kid?"

And for the first time in a while, I had hope.

~~

As we sat in the lab, Mr. Stark kept looking over these things that were reading my vitals and stuff. He had already helped fix up the giant gash in my stomach. It would leave a scar, which I thought was gonna be epic, so I wasn't too saddened by that. "So, kid," he said, and I snapped out of my thoughts. "You got a name?"

I cleared my throat and said, "It's Adwitiya." He nodded as he kept scrolling through things. We were silent for a bit longer, then I wanted to know what he was going to do. "How are you going to help me, Mr. Stark?"

He paused for just a second, then kept going. I thought he was just ignoring my question, until I saw him move the vitals and readings out of the way and pulled up something else. He turned the screen to me so I could see the picture better, and noticed it was a blueprint for something.

"This is going to go around your wrist and it will... absorb your abilities, if you will." I nodded along as he talked me through his thoughts on the design and how it would work. "It will not hurt you in any way and is just going to help you control whatever is going on in there." He sort of reference my head and stuff, so I assumed he was talking about my powers.

He silently worked for a bit longer, then paused. "What are your abilities, exactly?"

I looked away from him and to my hands for a second. "Well, it's complicated. And no, I have no idea how I got them. I don't know who my parents are or anything, so that's not going to help." I took in a deep breath and looked back up at Mr. Stark. "I can not only control the four elements, but I also have mind reading abilities, and sometimes I can manipulate people's minds."

Mr. Stark looked very invested. "Sometimes? So you mean it's sort of like a power you haven't quite unlocked, or you just don't know how to yet?"

That made me think as I tried to understand. "I don't really know if I'm being honest. All of this is so unknown to me... it's part of the reason I keep losing control."

"Well, we're gonna fix that, okay?" he asked.

I nodded and he got right back to work.

~~

I sat, spinning around in a chair, bored as hell. Director Fury had already contacted me about this 'Avenger Initiative' thing a while back; when he sent Phil Coulson to the Stark Tower to talk to Mr. Stark and I, my mind was already made up. Mr. Stark, however, didn't join on account of the report Agent Romanoff had written about him a couple years ago. Apparently she like me, however, so I was all good.

Thinking back to then had made my left hand subconsciously playing with the bracelet on my right wrist. The one that blocks my power just enough to make them controllable.

I felt the vessel move a bit, and jumped up from my seat and ran to the closest window. This was my favorite part of the entire journey: watching this thing go up into the sky. The view off the runway would had been better, but I wouldn't have made it in time.

Over by the table I was just sitting at, a group of people entered the room. I couldn't contain my excitement when I saw Agent Romanoff again. Smiling, I ran away from my spot at the window and over to her. "Agent Romanoff!" I called out.

She smiled back and walked away from the two men she had come in with. "Adwitiya!" We met in the middle where she pulled me into a quick hug. When we separated, she took a look at the uniform I was wearing. "They put you in SHIELD clothes? Really?"

I shrugged. "They didn't want me to look like some random kid who was let loose in here, I guess. Agent Coulson gave the uniform to me when I got onto the jet with him last night."

"Oh so you've also been here for quite some time," she commented. "I'm so sorry you've been bored for that long." She smirked and I couldn't help but laugh.

Agent Romanoff had helped me out when Mr. Stark was sick, being there to help me control my power and my emotions. We found out that the two go hand in hand. She and I trusted each other and I even went with her to Hammer Industries to help Mr. Stark out technologically.

My thoughts were interrupted when I saw the two new guys again. Agent Romanoff saw where I was looking and then nudged my shoulder. "Come on, I'll introduce you."

~~

After Germany and the incident with Thor, we were all sitting around the table where we were able to watch Loki get put in his cell. Something about him was interesting... maybe it was the fact that he didn't really scare me all too much. I still remained weary, but I just wasn't as put off as the others were.

Loki made some sort of comment on the strength of the cage, to which Director Fury responded, "Built for something a lot stronger than you." I looked up and shared a look with Mr. Stark and then with Dr. Banner. They knew the extent of my powers, as did the Director and Agent Romanoff. Everyone knew of Dr. Banner's other half. The point being, is we knew the trap was meant for us in case anything ever... happened.

"Oh, I've heard," Loki said, then looked directly into the camera. "A mindless beast. Makes play he's still a man. Then there's the ticking bomb you think is under control, parading around as a young woman." I felt eyes on me, but only paid attention to what Loki was saying and a little spot on the table. How in the hell did he know about me? I knew he had Agent Barton under some sort of mind control spell, but even he doesn't know everything about my powers. Right?

I tuned out of the rest of the conversation between Director Fury and Loki, and remained in my own world during the others' conversation. Instead I decided to swivel in my chair a bit and think about Loki. He was an interesting character, with very interesting ideals and motives. But there was just something to him that weirded me out.

"Hey, kid." I left my thoughts and looked up and Mr. Stark, who was standing with Dr. Banner. "Let's go."

I got up quickly and followed after them down to the lab. I didn't have the slightest clue on why he wanted me to come with, since science was certainly not my strong suit, so I just chose a table and sat on it. Yes, a table, because I can.

"So why did you want me to come in here? You know I suck at science stuff," I asked Mr. Stark.

Expecting a sarcastic remark of some sort, I was shocked when he came over to me with a snack- a bag of chips. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay after Reindeer Games down there called you out. He must have gotten all his information from Barton," he said. I opened the chips and offered one to him. As he took one, he added on, "At least that means he still doesn't know everything, so there's that."

I smiled at Mr. Stark and silently thanked him as he went on with his science stuff with Dr. Banner. "I think I am going to try and tune out over here, catch some Zs maybe, we'll see," I said to the pair. They both showed signs they heard me, so I went over and sat in a small chair. In my pocket, I had this pair of little bluetooth earbuds that cancelled sound and allowed me to listen to calming music and the music alone. It's what I did when I needed to just vibe for a minute.

And I did. I had no idea what the hell was going on until I saw a lot more color and people in the room than I did before, namely Captain Rogers and his very blue suit. I looked up and saw almost everyone in the room. When I stopped my music and took out my noise cancellers, I heard everyone arguing.

I stood up from my seat and walked towards them. As I walked up, I heard Captain Rogers saying, "Put on the suit. Let's go a few rounds." My eyebrows scrunched together, because clearly I missed a lot.

Thor started laughing, drawing all of our attention to him. "You people are so petty. And tiny." I just gave him an incredulous look and shook my head.

"Yeah, this is a team," Dr. Banner muttered. He grabbed everyone's attention now.

Director Fury stepped forward a bit. "Agent Romanoff, would you escort Dr. Banner and Adwitiya back to their-"

"Where?" Dr. Banner interrupted. He shrugged. "You rented our room." He gestured between himself and I, which then led everyone to notice that I was now in the conversation.

Director Fury sighed. "The cell was just in case..."

"In case you needed to kill either of us. I don't know about her, but you can believe I've tried." We all went silent at the words. Not only was I impressed with Dr. Banner for cutting the Nick Fury off twice, but he was opening up a bit. Not the best situation, but a start?

He looked around the room at all of us staring at him. "I got low," he started. "I didn't see an end. So, I put a bullet in my mouth, and the other guy spit it out." I wanted to move, to go up and try to at least show Dr. Banner he had support. Yet, my feet stayed planted to the ground. He kept speaking, anyways. "So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good. Until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk." My eyes were wide as I looked at what Dr. Banner was holding. Subtly, Mr. Stark moved to be in front of me while I got into a defensive stance.

"You want to know my secret Agent Romanoff? You want to know how I stay calm?" Dr. Banner asked.

We remained quiet and I saw both Director Fury and Agent Romanoff getting their guns ready. "Dr. Banner," Captain Rogers started. "Put down the scepter."

He looked at his hand in confusion, and it looked like he genuinely had no idea that he had even grabbed it. Behind us, a computer started beeping loudly. "Sorry, kids, you don't get to see my party trick after all," Dr. Banner said as he went over to the computer to check it out.

Everyone's voices started going at once, with someone asking if the Tesseract had been located, someone else talking about where it belonged, etc. I even piped in, trying to let them know we should just focus on finding it then figure out what happens to it.

"You're not going alone," Captain Rogers suddenly said, and I looked to see he was stopping Mr. Stark from exiting the room.

Mr. Stark slapped the other's hand away. "You're gonna stop me?" he asked.

"Put on the suit, let's find out," Captain Rogers responded.

"I'm not afraid to hit an old man," Mr. Stark said. The two stepped up to each other, trying to intimidate the other maybe?

"Put on the suit."

I stepped in between. "This really isn't necessary, because we don't even know where the damn thing is yet," I tried to reason.

"Oh my god..." I looked over to Dr. Banner as he looked genuinely shocked and slightly terrified at the screen. He looked up and we made eye contact.

A sudden explosion cut off everyone and I was thrown through a glass window.

~~

In the street, I kicked another Chitauri in the head and ducked as he got shot. My body ached with every hit I got and every punch I gave. I had been trying to preserve my energy by not using my powers, so I was settling with as much hand to hand combat as I could against these aliens. However, I had gotten a giant gash in my right arm from the Helicarrier incident that had started gushing blood again, so it was hard. Agents Barton and Romanoff were fighting nearby. Captain Rogers was near as well, but was able to move around just bit more than we were.

"We need to get up there and close the damn portal!" I shouted out, moving to take cover behind a taxi. Barton and Romanoff joined me as they reloaded. "I think I can close it somehow, I just need to get up there!"

Captain Rogers suddenly dropped down and used his shield to smack a Chitauri before it got too close. I got an idea. "Captain!" I called out, and he turned to me. "I need you to get me a boost up to one of those flying things."

He looked up his shield, then to one of the flying Chitauri, then back to me. "You sure about this, kid?" he asked. In response, I got up and got ready to run to him. He took that as a 'yes' and got into position as well. It was really interesting to see how he quickly he picked up on what I meant.

As a group of them started flying over head, I started to run. In a swift move, I jumped up onto the shield, Captain Rogers moved his shield up, and I grabbed onto one of the fliers.

Holding on was a bit tough considering they were moving very fast and my hands were quite sweaty from all the fighting, but I managed to hold on and climb up onto the thing. After using a bit of power to dispose of the two riders, I worked on steering the thing up to the tower where Loki was confirmed to be standing and watching and where the Tesseract was.

Steering was a very big challenge, and I struggled to even get the thing to move at first. When I did, I thought it would be smooth sailing from there and I could just go up and get off. I got up, and saw Loki standing on the landing pad for the Iron Man suits.

And he saw me.

"Shit!" I tried to move out of his range and up to the roof, but he used the scepter to blast the alien bike I was on. It spun out of control, and was heading for a part of the building I wouldn't be able to land on so easily, so I jumped off.

Landing hurt, especially because Mr. Stark didn't exactly think the landing area would be a drop zone for people, so it wasn't exactly cushioned. When I finally stopped rolling, I was on my back and groaned from how painful it was. My eyes were shut to try and block out the harsh sun, so when I opened them back up, I wasn't ready to see Loki standing over me.

I freaked out and tried to crawl backwards, but he put the end of his scepter down on my stomach. "It's so good to meet the infamous Adwitiya that Barton told me so much about," he said.

In a panic, I made a pushing motion with my hand and Loki went flying backwards; air is definitely my favorite element to use. With him out of my way, I was able to stand up and get into a defensive stance. He stood up from the ground, about 15 feet away from me, and just smirked.

"Is that your worst?" he asked. "By Barton's description, I assumed it would be much scarier and more intimidating... blowing people away isn't exactly terrifying."

I shook my head, not even daring to fall for any of this. "I don't care if you think I'm powerful or not, but you're in my way, so I need you to move." I tried my best to sound intimidating, but I guess I didn't do too good of a job.

The jackass started laughing at me. "I don't think I'll be moving anytime soon," he said, and he started to walk towards me.

"Then I guess you will see some of my worst." I barely allowed him a chance to absorb my sentence before I blasted a fireball at him. It clearly caught him off guard, because he was barley able to roll out of the way. But I didn't stop there. While he was distracted with that, I let out a yell and slammed my fists into the ground, causing the natural elements in the concrete and stuff to shoot out of the ground in a concentrated path. And that path, led right to Loki. He was thrown up into the air and I used more wind to really push him out of my way.

He was on the ground near the way in, so I passed by him to get there. As I was going past him, I stopped and leaned over him slightly. "I'd show you water, but that might actually kill you." Loki didn't offer a retort and I started to walk away again. By the door, I saw his scepter laying there. "Don't mind if I do," I mumbled, and picked it up. If this thing was able to put people under spells, blast energy, and stab, it could probably be useful up top.

~~

A couple months after the Battle of New York, Mr. Stark had converted Stark Tower into the Avengers Tower. I was staying there full time while the man himself was mainly in Malibu.

The other Avengers were also staying in the tower. Dr. Banner- Bruce (he insisted I stop be so formal, but in a nice way) decided to stay because of the stress-reliving areas put in the tower. Captain Rogers decided to stay because a lot of other places around were really expensive; he'd be moving out as soon as he could afford a place in Brooklyn, though. Barton and Romanoff stayed as well, claiming Director Fury wanted them to so they could keep an eye on everything. Thor had to go back to Asgard with Loki to face their father.

It had been going well, too. Until there was a sudden loud banging noise coming from the roof of the tower. I was in the common room where Mr. Stark had his bar when I heard it. "Jarvis, can you tell me what's going on?" I asked.

"It appears that someone has landed on the roof."

"Wait- someone?!"

I hurried up to the roof access from inside after telling Jarvis to alert the others. When I got up there, I could hear a pair of voices arguing outside; the worst part was I recognized them both. I opened up the door to reveal Thor with Loki. Loki was, thankfully, in chains so he couldn't just escape right then and there. However, he was missing the mouth thing he had when he was taken away.

"Thor? What are doing back here? With... well, with the man who tried to take over Earth?" I asked when they took notice of me. Thor walked over to me, his brother following behind.

He clapped me on my shoulder which nearly took me down. Damn he's strong. "Oh, I have to let Stark know about this as well. And all the others, really. Where are they?"

I turned back to the door I came out of and started going back inside. "Come on, let's go meet them. I had Jarvis get them together when I heard commotion up here," I said. Thor came up behind me and I started going down the stairs. I could hear Thor having a small and whispered argument with Loki, then the door banged shut and two sets of footsteps followed after me.

Down in the common room, the others were gathered up with their weapons ready to go. "Don't fire, I've got company with me," I deadpanned as Thor and Loki came into view behind me.

Of course that didn't really work, because the minute they all saw Loki they panicked and I swear I thought Captain Rogers was winding up to throw. "Hello! It is good to see all of you once again," Thor greeted.

"Thor, what the hell is he doing here?" Romanoff asked.

He hesitated just a bit, then sighed. "Yes, I supposed you need to know that answer. Is Stark around as well?"

"He's in Malibu at the moment," I answered. "I can call him and let him know he's needed here soon." I started pulling my phone out of my pocket.

Thor nodded. "Yes, that would be excellent," he said. "But you all need to know as well. So, my father, Odin, decided that Loki shall reside here on Earth for a while as punishment. He needs to be helpful of course and I will remain here as well."

As soon as Thor was done talking, the protests started rolling in. I didn't focus much on the words considering I understood their basic opinion of the idea. Instead, I focused on Loki. After the battle, I couldn't really stop thinking about him and how interesting he was. Him and his brother, really, considering they were both from a completely different realm.

I shook my head of my thoughts and remembered I needed to call Mr. Stark to let him know about Thor and Loki's arrival. The others were all still arguing (except Loki was sort of just standing off to the side looking around), so I stepped away a bit more so it wouldn't be so loud while I talked.

After the second ring, he picked up. "Whatcha need kid?" he asked from the other end.

"Well, I need to know you are in a place where you can react openly," I started. If he were out in a public place or in a meeting, he would not be able to react, and this kind of stuff was the kind you needed to react to.

"Okay..." he said, somewhat hesitant. I heard a bit of shuffling, walking, and then a door closing. "I'm in the lab. Now what's wrong?"

I rubbed the back of my neck. "So Thor is back... but he brought his brother with him... and is saying that they are going to be staying here for an indefinite amount of time."

The line was silent on his end, and at this point I figured he could hear the other Avengers arguing with Thor about this. Another beat of silence, and then, "I'm coming back now."

I couldn't respond, because he hung up right after that- I barely even heard his words before he just hung up. With a sigh, I removed the phone from my ear and stuck it back in my pocket. The others would probably appreciate knowing Mr. Stark was coming back, so I turned around and walked back over to them.

"So," I started, raising my voice enough for them to hear me. They quieted down and I took that as my cue to keep talking. "Mr. Stark is going to be coming back over here for a bit. That's pretty much all he said before he just... hung up on me."

The others just nodded, and they started to leave the room one by one. "Mr. Stark can talk this over with you when he gets here," I said to Thor. He offered me a smile and a nod. "For now, I guess I should probably get you a guest room to stay until he gets here-"

"That won't be necessary." I turned around and saw Mr. Stark in his armor walking into the tower. The suit started to come off of him as he walked down the stairs. "I can talk to them now, you can go down and help out on level 25?"

It was his way of telling me he wanted me to leave them be, so I just nodded and went down to that level.

~~

For the past month now, Thor and Loki have been staying in the tower with us. None of the others, especially Bruce, were very happy about the notion, but it was Mr. Stark's tower technically- he had the final say. They were staying in two guest rooms down the hall from where mine was, so I heard them argue a good bit. Loki didn't want to be here, and Thor was trying to convince him he needed to stay here to fulfill his punishment.

Lately, though, Loki has been a bit more content. I made it my mission to be civil to him. Even if he didn't show it on the outside, I could tell that somewhere inside, he appreciated it. The others had also started to be nicer to him.

Today, I was alone in the tower with Loki and Barton. The others had gone out a mission, and insisted that at least two people stay behind to watch over Loki. For some reason, I felt offended for Loki at the thought of him needing a babysitter. But I also had to understand that being more civil towards him did not equal trust.

I was lounging in a hoodie and some leggings, watching 'Friends' reruns, when Loki walked into the room. He looked a bit lost and confused. When he first looked over at me, he was seriously doubting wether or not he wanted to approach me.

So I made the first move. "Is everything okay?" I asked, pausing the show and turning my attention to Loki. He looked surprised at my question, but covered it up quickly.

"Yes, I was just curious if the tower housed a library, maybe?" he asked. The confident and cocky demeanor I knew was gone, replaced by uncertainty and maybe a bit of embarrassment. If I were in his shoes, I too would be embarrassed at the fact that a mortal would be helping me; basically I wasn't offended.

His question, rather, got me excited. "Yes! Oh, Mr. Stark put in the best library I've ever seen!" I had jumped up from the couch and was excitedly shouting. Loki raised an eyebrow at me, and I realized that was probably a bit weird. "Uhm, you can follow me down to it..."

I started walking away, so he just started walking after me. Then after a trip down a few floors in the elevator, we made it down to the library level. "Next time you can just come in here and ask Jarvis to take you to the library," I said as the doors opened. I turned to look at him and smiled a bit.

There was a moment where we both hesitated to leave, so I just started to walk out in hopes that he would follow me. His footsteps behind me answered my hopes. "So, this level is kind big with a bunch of different sections. If you even get lost, you can always just ask Jarvis." When I turned to look at him, he was nodding along and taking in our surroundings. "Over here is the lounging area with a fireplace and stuff, and everywhere else is books."

For the next hour I brought Loki around to each section of the library, showing him my favorite books in each section, and getting a bit too excited each time. Whenever I needed to grab a book from a high shelf, I just used a small air current to push the book out and it would float into my hands. Whenever I did that, Loki would watch with curiosity and his eyes would be bright.

We came back to the sitting area and Loki had chosen a book, so I was getting ready to head back upstairs. "Wait!" he called out. I stopped and turned on my heal to see him standing in front of a chair. "Would you like to stay down here and read with me?" he asked. His voice was soft and ready for rejection.

I just smiled brightly and hurried back over to another chair and jumped into it. Using some air currents, I brought over my favorite book and started reading. Loki chuckled and sat down in the chair. We sat and read until Jarvis had to remind us that we needed to eat.

Six months after I brought Loki to the library, we were officially together. Nobody was too happy with the news, but after Natasha stumbled in on us laughing and watching TV, she told the others she backed the relationship. After she did, the others figured it was alright. Thor was pretty happy that his brother was getting along well here, and Mr. Stark was happy that Loki wasn't trying to kill anyone.

"Okay, I get that, but you also have to understand that these people are in very stressful situations and their thoughts aren't exactly working properly," I countered.

Loki sighed. "Well I still wouldn't choose to run off in a giant field where the murder could find me easily! I mean seriously, what was she expecting with that and her boyfriend should not have tried to intervene."

"Oh come on, that was romantic," I said with a laugh. Loki was having some great fun with Midgardians and their idiotic tendencies in the face of danger. He and I would debate a bit after each thriller he read, before we would just collapse into a fit of laughter and watch a show.

I smiled at Loki as he held his hands up in defeat. "All right, so if a man is trying to kill you, you want me to sacrifice myself instead? What a wonderful thing for your girlfriend to tell you," he said.

I laughed loudly and gave him a playful push. "That's not what I meant and you know it!" I called. Loki grabbed my wrists after I pushed him and pulled me to him. We laid on the couch like that, snuggling as I had Jarvis start up a random episode of 'Friends'. Sometimes it was fun to let the AI choose one.

The show started and I snuggled deeper into Loki's chest. "I love you," I mumbled a bit sleepily.

I felt him freeze a bit, then a kiss on my head. "I love you, too."

On our one year anniversary, I insisted on Mr. Stark letting me take Loki out for a nice dinner in the city. I figured if he dressed up in Midgardian clothing and abandoned the helmet, Loki could pass for being a 'puny little Earthling'. It was only after I said someone could come along (at a large distance) that Mr. Stark said yes.

It was easy to convince Loki, because all I had to do was tell him I was taking him somewhere special and he needed to dress like a Midgardian. At first he didn't like the dress code, but after I showed him quite a few nice suits he could magic himself into, he didn't seem to mind.

Mr. Stark and I worked on book a very private little balcony at a beautiful Italian restaurant where it would be very unlikely anyone would be around us long enough to recognize us. I had a bit of mind manipulation abilities I could use in case anything got out of hand.

When Loki and I left that night, I noticed there was something in his suit pocket. I didn't want to pry, however, and just ignored it as we used one of Mr. Stark's cars to get us there. The entire drive down I was trying to help explain what Italian food was; he kept trying to compare different things to Asgardian food, but I didn't know what that was so it wasn't very helpful. We ended up laughing through most of it anyway.

At the restaurant, we sat on a sweet little balcony on the backside of the building that overlooked part of a sweet little park. The entire setting was just perfect for what I pictured. This was the romantic little spot Loki and I needed after spending a year in different parts of the tower.

After dessert, we just sat with our chairs facing out, enjoying the view. He held my hand in his and we sat in a comfortable silence and just... admired.

Loki cleared his throat suddenly, which caught my attention. When I looked at him, I noticed he was already looking at me. "Adwitiya, I love you dearly as you know," he started. A soft smile made its way onto my face as I listened. "And well, I wanted to get you something special after courting- dating for one year."

He let go of my hand and reached into his jacket pocket to pull out a large, flat box. My interest was piqued, and when he handed it to me, I noted the velvety texture of the outside. I opened it gently to see a gorgeous necklace sitting inside. The necklace was a gold base and had many small, beautiful, colorful gems laid out in intricate patterns. It was absolutely lovely.

"My mother gave me that necklace years ago, and told me to give it to the woman I loved, and well, that's you," he said in a soft voice. I looked back up to him and smiled. "I had Thor go pick it up for me a week ago and thought tonight would be the perfect night to give it to you."

My eyes teared up. "Oh Loki, it's beautiful. I love it," I whispered, unable to speak any louder without possibly letting all the tears fall. We stood up and he pulled me in for a small but sweet kiss. When we pulled apart, he had me turn around so he could put the necklace on and see how it looked.

"You make it look even more beautiful, my love."

It has been a fun year and a half since Loki was brought back to Earth. In that year and a half, he had proven to us all that he had grown from his past self. He had also opened up to me about how it was Thanos who had forced him to do his bidding by bribing him with something Loki thought was all he wanted. It was a very tear filled night.

The others even trust Loki enough to bring him out on missions. Him and I, well, we worked pretty well together, and often got sent on assignments together or stayed home together. We worked so well together, and the others really saw that and took advantage.

Loki just seemed to really work well here. We loved each other so much and I honestly couldn't imagine him leaving. However, that was the news Thor had brought us.

"What do you mean? Loki is doing great here, Thor, he doesn't need to go back," I said. Tears were forming in my eyes, but I held them back. Loki stood next to me, not quite enraged, but certainly opposed.

Thor, standing across from us, sighed and gave us apologetic eyes. "I'm sorry, Lady Adwitiya, but this is my father's command. I simply cannot go to him and say Loki denied it as if it were some sort of request," he explained. I knew that, too, I just didn't have anyone else to be mad at that was in front of me. "I will do everything I can to ensure Loki may come back to Earth whenever he please- maybe even have him stay."

Loki scoffed beside me. "Yes, because even after I've grown and found reasons to be good, I still must be watched like a newborn," he spat. I got Loki's hand in mine. "Thor, can't you explain to him that I've matured and that I want to be here?" Loki asked, and there was so much emotion in his tone that it somewhat hurt to hear.

Before Thor had a chance to respond, Mr. Stark came hurrying into the room. When he saw the three of us, he looked relived. "Thank God you are all in one spot. We have to go, there's a threat out in Bulgaria that needs to be neutralized."

There was no arguments as the three of us followed Mr. Stark out of the tower and to a Quinjet that was ready to take off. Thor and Loki were able to easily get into uniform, but I had to find mine on the jet somewhere and hurry to get changed in the bathroom. It seemed that we were all taken off guard based on how everyone was in casual clothes and hurrying to get suited up.

After I got dressed, I sat down next to Loki and held his hand again, squeezing it three times. He turned his head to me and smiled. "We will be fine, Adwitiya, I promise," he whispered. Amidst the chaos in the jet, no-one else could hear our conversation.

I shook my head and finally let a tear spill. "It's not that, I just don't want you to go," I whispered back, my voice wavering at the end. His eyes got teary as well and he pulled me into a hug. "We have spent too much time together, I don't want to see you leave now."

"I won't be gone forever, I promise you that," he whispered into my ear. I felt him kiss my forehead, and we pulled away from each other to listen to the briefing.

Apparently aliens were spotted crawling out of a giant crater, and were trying to attack a nearby town. They weren't Chitauri, and even Thor and Loki had a hard time identifying them in the pictures news outlets were showing. This wasn't good.

After landing, we kicked it into high gear. Those who could fly did, and those who couldn't used SHIELD transportation to get over to the site. I could fly by harnessing the wind to lift me up, and was able to bring Loki along with me. We made it to where the aliens were quickly, along with Thor and Mr. Stark. Bruce had Hulked out at some point, and came crashing through the woods. Natasha, Barton, and Cap were riding motorcycles around the area to report if any aliens had breached a perimeter the Bulgarian military set. Luckily, the answer was no so far.

"We got this guys," Cap said over the comms. I heard mumbles of agreement and added in my own. "Just find where they're coming from and shut it down."

Easier said than done, Captain.

Fighting these things was hard, especially when Loki finally recognized them as some sort of Frost Giant-hybrids. We had talked a few months ago about how he was a Frost Giant and how he was afraid that he'd hurt me (I assured him he would never). But that conversation included what the Frost Giants were capable of, so imagining them combined with possibly another powerful race is terrifying.

I was using my powers heavily in this fight. I laid off the fire a bit considering we were in a forest and I didn't want to chance a wildfire, so I managed to be pretty effective with earth, wind, water, and some mind reading to get the jump on them.

Sometime during the fight, Loki and I had gotten separated. There were so many aliens and we were just so focused on getting rid of them, that when I got a chance to take a breath, Loki was no longer next to me. The only reason I didn't full on panic was because I heard him say things over comms every now and then.

Now that I thought about it, it has been a hot minute since I last heard something from him. I had a break in between waves, so I chanced a quick look around for the signature green I know and love. While spinning around, I saw a flash of green, so I turned back and focused in.

That's when I felt my heart drop. There he was, going one-on-one with an alien who looked larger than the others and hell bent on killing Loki.

"No," I whispered, shaking my head. I started run to him, but there were too many aliens in the way. One grabbed my arm and I screamed in pain from the burning sensation. I tried to use my wind to back them away from me, but they kept grabbing me and attacking.

There were too many, and I didn't have enough power. As I swung my right arm out, I saw the flash of silver from my bracelet, and had the worst idea come to mind. The problem was that it was the only one I had.

"Guys, get away from where I am, now!" I called out, grunting a bit as I got hit by different things. "Don't ask questions!" I could only allow them less than a minute to move before I had to make my own move. After using a bit of air to throw an alien off my right arm, I tore the bracelet off my wrist.

Instantly, I felt power rushing through my veins. The white-hot pain from it all rushing around and being free was so much, and I opened my mouth to let out a scream. I had enough coherent thought to conjure up enough fire to melt all the aliens nearby, injure a few more, and scare the rest into the Avengers' waiting arms. And I swear I heard Natasha over the comms saying they were all gone.

But I couldn't stop. The power was so much, I couldn't control it anymore- it's not like I had much control over it in the first place anyways. However, there was more to it than just me losing control over the flames; the amount of power rushing through me and coming out of me was causing such an unbearable pain. My throat was hoarse from screaming so much, yet I couldn't stop because it was all I had to try and relieve anything. It was too much.

Then, I felt a hand in mine. My eyes snapped down to the hand, and then I followed the arm up to see Loki. He was there with me in the center of all this chaos, and he was in pain. The fire was hurting him.

"Loki get away!" I screamed. "This will kill you!"

He shook his head. "You can't get rid of me that easily!" he yelled back at me. In a quick movement, he moved his hands up to the sides of my face and brought my lips to his. The kiss was hot and somehow distracting. My senses started to clear and I only focused on kissing the man I was in love with. I could feel the fire slowing.

I also felt my conscious slipping. I pulled away from Loki, then promptly fell to the ground, unconscious.

~~

My eyes were wide and I gasped. I looked up at Thor, who was concerned with my reaction. But now I remembered. "Where the hell is Loki?"

~To Be Continued~

A/N: hey guys! I, again, am apologizing for how long it took for me to get this request out, I just didn't have a good story line until recently and I was so excited to finally work on this request! Hopefully they are still around to read it (I really hope they didn't forget about this book haha).

This was a lot of fun to write if I'm being honest, and I did get a bit carried away with how much I wrote (a little over 8,500 words!)

I do have a part two in the works right now, along with a few other things. So, get excited!

SELF PROMO: I have started posting a new book called 'Let's Try to Forget' and it takes place in the Stranger Things universe. If you enjoyed the series on Netflix, I'd appreciate it if you'd check out my book! I'll be updating it weekly on Saturdays.

I love you guys and I love that you've stuck around with me during my hiatuses and everything. You, my lovelies, my dear readers, keep me going. When I see people voting, commenting, and adding my books to their reading lists, I feel like I've done something right. Even if sometimes I feel like no-one is really paying attention to these notes, I just want you to know your interactions mean everything to me.

Bye Lovelies!!!!!!!!
