Charming // Bucky Barnes

Bucky's POV
I walked gingerly into the living room, searching for someone to help me, namely Steve. I like Y/N, no, I might even love her. Unfortunately, I'm an ex-assassin with a metal arm, so I probably don't even have a chance with someone as incredible as her. When I see Steve sipping coffee and reading the paper,  I quietly approach.

"Hey Steve, could you help me with something?" I asked.

"Sure Buck, what is it?" he asked in reply.

"I uh... I need help with a girl," I replied sheepishly. The moment those words left my lips I regretted them, as Tony was sitting across the room.

"You've got about as much charm as a dead slug, buddy," Tony sneered.
I ignored him and turned back to face Steve. "I haven't done this since the forties, Steve. I don't know if I'm any good at it anymore."

"Here's what you gotta do. Stroll up behind her, grab her hand, whisper something in her ear, lead her to the bedroom, then seal the deal," Tony explained.

"You disgust me," I countered with a glare.

"Feisty are we?" he teased. "But really though, you're going to take love advice from the ninety-year-old virgin?"

"Seeing as he's the one without the eyes that are constantly trying to undress women, yes I am," I snarled.

"Whatever buddy. Have fun with Star Spangled Spandex!" Tony finishes, taking a bottle of whiskey and exiting the room.

"You know, for a genius, he sure is an idiot," Steve chuckles, earning a small smile from me.

"Just be yourself Buck, give her some flowers, take her dancing. Keep it simple. Y/N will love it."

"H-how do you know it's Y/N I'm after?" I stutter.

"Oh come on, it's clear enough to anyone paying attention," he grins. I relent with a sigh.

"Thanks for helping," I replied.

"Any time."

Your POVYou've just finished showering and getting dressed when you hear a knock on your bedroom door.

"Just a minute!" you yell, brushing through your wet hair in the mirror. Once you're done, you walk over and open the door. Bucky stands there dressed in a white button up shirt and a nice pair of jeans. He's holding a bouquet of  tiger lilies, and he's looking up at you through his eye lashes, causing you to smile.
"What are these for, James?" you inquire. You can see him start to shake slightly at the sound of his name.
"I... uh... you're very beautiful... and funny...and, uh, I was wondering if you would maybe like to go on a date with me?" he admits shyly. He then averts his gaze to his shoes. You gently lift his chin up so he is looking into your eyes.
"I would love to go on a date with you," you giggled. You watched as the nervousness visibly subsided, and were replaced with that signature Bucky Barnes smile.
"Then we'd better buy you a dancin' dress," he beamed.
"Sure, but first I want to put these in a vase," you reply, taking the tiger lilies from his hands. "Some cereal sounds good, too."
Tony watched as you two made your way into the kitchen, and he nearly spit his drink.
"Barnes, you ask Y/N out?!" Tony gasped.
"He sure did," you affirmed. "And he's quite charming if you ask me.
Tony looked back to Bucky to find him smirking in satisfaction.
