2. Welcome home?
"Ready?" Natasha asked, a warm hand placed on my shoulder.
"As I'll ever be." I nodded stepping into the the safe house with her.
Apparently the rest of the team, minus Thor and the Hulk, were waiting inside to form a plan of action and execution.
With all of the gusto that I mustered up in the last five minutes, I trailed behind the three avengers into the safe house, and it was very 'fancy shmancy' as Tony put it. The house was tucked into some mountain, and the trip up to it wasn't an easy one. Especially in my 'nighttime attire.' The outside of the house and the scenery that surrounded it was stunning to say the least, though. It kind of looked like someone plucked some mountaineer mansion from a magazine and plopped it here.
"Shit, she's probably cold. Sorry kid-Morgan, I didn't even think about your current gettup." Tony cursed pulling me inside.
"Jarvis, run a hot shower in the master bedroom upstairs." Tony commanded, nodding to Natasha to take me upstairs.
"I'll get your clothing situation taken care of while you're getting cleaned up." She smiled, leading me up the stairs and in to a massive bathroom that was connected to two separate bedrooms.
Just like Tony had commanded, a hot shower was running, and as soon as I saw the steamy shower water, Natasha left me to it.
I slowly undressed myself, and delicately placed my folded pj's on the granite counters by the sink. The bathroom was beautiful, and the shower's temperature was just right. Not too cold and not too warm.
Sighing contently, I started to rub my hands together under the steady stream of water, attempting to warm my freezing hands.
"Is everything to your satisfaction, madam?" A voice spoke out of nowhere, resulting in a shriek from me.
Nearly slipping in the process, I crossed my legs and covered my lady parts, peering around the bathroom looking for the intruder.
"I did not wish to frighten you, miss. I am Jarvis, the house's AI." The strange voice explained.
"Wait you're a computer?" I called out, kind of feeling stupid for my outburst. I mean who wouldn't?
"Yes, miss. When you are finished with the shower, there will be a pair of warm clothes waiting for you directly outside of the door to your left." Jarvis told me.
"Oh, thanks." I chimed, flipping a random switch that ended up shutting the water off.
Grabbing the closest towel, I wrapped myself into a burrito before opening the door to my left, and just like Jarvis said, a pair of comfortable looking clothes were waiting for me with a note attached.
'These were mine, so hopefully they'll fit you! The rest of us will be down in the kitchen when you're done - Natasha' the note read.
Well Natasha had quite a bit of height on me, so naturally the shirt and pants ended up hanging off of me.
Cuffing the sleeves of the droops black quarter sleeve shirt, I reluctantly made my way out of the bathroom. I have to woMAN the fuck up and converse with the Avengers about a situation that could lead to my family and I's death. Easy peasy, right?
"Right out of this room, there is a staircase, miss. If you take that and make two lefts, that will bring you to the kitchen." Jarvis instructed.
Nodding to myself, I followed his instructions and walked through the entryway into the living area. Right in front of the living area was a very open and spacious kitchen, where most of the avengers sat.
They all seemed enveloped into a very serious conversation until Steve saw me.
"Hey Morgan, come take a seat." He called pulling the chair next to him out from the wooden table.
The intense stares from the heroes and assassins made me feel small, but I managed to keep my head a little high. I can't show weakness right now.
"What exactly did you hear in that coffee shop?" Tony was the first to speak up after I took a seat between Cap and Natasha.
"Well this really gruff looking guy, almost as built as you guys, started talking about some Chinese organization. He was talking about the people using live humans to host some kind of concoction." I explained, examining the patterns on the table.
"Concoction?" Some guy who I assumed was the falcon, spoke up.
"Yeah, he was going over the process and explaining it to a superior I think. It's definitely some freaky shit. Apparently the only way to perfectly curate whatever the fuck they're cooking up is to drain the host and pump them up with the mixture." I continued, looking the man in the eyes.
"What does this 'mixture' do?" He fired another question.
"I think it's supposed to give the host some freaky super strength or awaken something." I shrugged.
"Dang kid, you were really eavesdropping huh?" He chuckled.
"Damn, forgot to introduce you," Tony started.
"You already know Cap and Tasha, but that is Sam, Bucky, and Scott. Clint will be joining us shortly." Tony finished, pointing at everyone occupying it, earning a nod from me.
"Now lastly, how did you manage to overhear this?" Cap asked from beside me.
"I went out to this rag-tag coffee shop against my mom's wishes." I grimaced.
"Is it okay if I ask you guys some questions now?" I continued, earning a nod from everyone.
"How long will I be here, and how exactly will this work out?"
"Barnes will be in the house 24/7 and there will be a rotation of all of us weekly." Cap explained.
"And I'll be here how long?"
"Until we find and nail those sons of bitches." Tony chimed.
"Could you give me a guesstimate?"
"Sorry kid, it could take months. Maybe even a year." Sam sighed.
"Nah ah ah, the kid has a name." Tony chided Sam, speaking up against the nickname I disliked - attempting to lighten the mood.
"Sorry, Morgan, but you'll be here for awhile." Sam corrected himself.
"Can I contact my mom and let her know I'm okay?" I shot a grateful smile to Tony.
"Nope, too risky." Barnes broke his silence, looking up from his lap.
"And what if they find my location?" I asked.
"That's why we're here." Steve patted my shoulder.
"Ok, but let me just clear something up. I may be young, but I want everything given to me straight up. If I'm gonna be stuck here, I want to be informed." I spoke with a sudden confidence.
"We'll keep you updated at all times." Tony nodded.
Wow, if you guys ever wondered what it would feel like to sit in a room full of the avengers, let me break it down for you. It feels like standing completely naked under a black-light. Their stares are incredibly intrusive.
"Bucky and Natasha will be the first on rotation this week, the rest of us will have our ears to the ground." Cap dropped some for information.
"Is that all?" I implored.
"That's all for tonight, you can head upstairs and go to bed if you want. Your room the the room with the panic room inside." Tony concluded.
"Okay then, well it was nice meeting you all." I stood offering an awkward bow before heading to the room I left not even 20 minutes ago.

"It's time to wake up and start the day, miss. Breakfast is waiting." Jarvis spoke, startling me in the process.
Letting out a sharp gasp, I rolled out of the feathery bed and hit the floor with a thud. So this wasn't a dream.. Groaning, I rubbed my tangled legs together.
"Morgan is everything okay, Jarvis said you were hurt?" The infamous winter soldier let himself into my room, standing tense and on alert.
"I'm fine. You can leave." I squeaked, embarrassed by my current state. I was currently tangled into a burrito-like shape, with the massive comforter tied around me.
Giving an unsure nod, the soldier let himself out of my room before making sure I was 100% okay. What a perfect way to start the day.
"Please don't snitch on me in the future, Jarvis." I grumbled, untangling myself from the blanket and sitting straight up.
"You emulated a sound of pain, and I was ordered to notify the others of when you could be in danger." The AI apologized.
"How thoughtful of you." I remarked rolling my eyes, and standing to my feet.
"Is that sarcasm I detected?" The system countered.
"I don't know, you tell me." I quipped, exiting the room and lightly padding down the stairscase.
"Morning." I called, not wanting to startle the two highly trained assassins. Not like I really could, anyways.. I guess that was just to me make me feel better about this whole situation.
"Morning, sleepyhead." Natasha chimed from the kitchen.
Following the sound of her voice, my nose was greeted with the smell of bacon and eggs.
"Well this is oddly domestic." I chuckled hopping up onto one of the barstools placed in front of the countertop.
"I figured a comforting breakfast would do you some good after this morning's debacle." She winked.
"Damn, Barnes snitches too?" I groaned, burying my face into my hands.
"Only when it's entertaining." She chuckled, placing a plate next to my sulking form.
"Good to know." I sat up rolling my eyes.
"You've settled in quickly." The red-head examined, traces of amusement still present in her expression.
"Would you rather me burst into tears every two minutes?" I mused, shoveling some eggs into my mouth.
"You know, I think the two of us will get along quite nicely." She grinned.
"Good, by the way you can really make a mean scrambled egg." I complemented holding up my plate, all of the bacon untouched.
"You don't like bacon?"
"It's a really long story for another time." I choked out a nervous laugh.
"What's the agenda for today?" I spoke quickly, changing the topic.
"Well I was planning on running you through a bunch of routines, so you'll be ready if there were to be an emergency." She explained.
"Oh, so like secret agent moves and what not?" I grinned, excitement bubbling up in me.
"Nope," she started, popping my happy bubble,
"I'll be running you through a bunch of different situations just in case, while Barnes secures the perimeter and sets up a security system." She finished.
"Oh, great." I huffed.
(A/N - just to let you know and make sure all of you are on track, this takes place after the winter soldier and Morgan is unaware that shield was compromised. Bucky was made apart of this story (despite the end of winter soldier) because he has a major tie into the plot.)
