"I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified"

I was sitting in the common room of the Avengers facility playing chess with Vision as Tony was in the kitchen brewing some coffee.

I was staring at the chess board trying to figure out my next move as Vision took his turn, winning the game.

"I will win one day," I laughed as I stood up from the chair and walked into the kitchen.

I greeted Tony with a smile but he was silent which made me confused because he always talked to me. We had grown closer to each other ever since his and Pepper's breakup. I was the one who helped him through it and ever since then we had been inseparable.

"Tony are you alright?" I asked and I put a hand in his shoulder causing him to flinch and move away.

Tony kept his back towards me and he mumbled under his breath as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

"Anthony Edward Stark! What is your problem?!" I raised my voice catching him by surprise.

He turned around and looked at me, I could see a mixture of fear and uncertainty in his eyes.

"You want to know my problem (Y/N)? Here's my problem, I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified," Tony said causing my jaw to drop slightly.

"Tony," I said, unable to get myself to say anything else.

"I'm terrified that I'll do something wrong and I'll lose you. I fucked up big time with Pepper and you helped me get through that but I'm afraid I'll do the same with you. (Y/N), I really don't want to fuck it up this time," Tony said and I saw his eyes start to tear up.

All I could do was wrap my arms around his neck and I hugged him tightly, "I love you too Tony. You won't fuck it up, what happened was not your fault Tony," I told him before pressing my lips to his softly, he kissed back immediately.

When we pulled back, we both smiled at each other and we held each other in our arms, not wanting to let go.
