"What about Agent Stewart?" Steve asked and you shrugged. "She could work." Fury had assigned you and Steve to pick and partner agents for a mission. "Agent Simpson?" You nodded. "Yeah they're great for backup." Steve flipped through the list. "And Agent Dixon?" You quickly shook your head. "Definitely not."

"Why not, he's not so bad." You raised an eyebrow. "He's like Tony but 10 times worse without the good qualities." Steve was quiet for a moment, before he nodded. "Yeah, but he's still good on missions." He argued. "I don't like him though, a majority of the other shield agents are also great on missions." You said. "I guess you're right."

*after the mission*

Your mission was a success so Tony decided to throw a party to celebrate. Clint had accidentally let it slip to Agent Dixon that you didn't like him and stopped him from coming on the mission, and now he kept trying to talk to you. "Come on (L/N). I'm great, why don't you like me?" He smirked and you rolled your eyes, walking to the bar as he followed. "Lots of reasons, Zack. You following me around definitely isn't helping." You sat down, resting your head on your hand; he placed himself next to you, his smile not wavering. "Maybe you should just get to know me," he paused when you scoffed, "don't go anywhere, I'll be right back."

You perked up as Zack walked away, and as soon as you couldn't see him you jumped up and walked away. You spotted Steve and Bucky and rushed over to them. "Hey guys!" You put an arm on Bucky's shoulder, trying to spot Zack behind Steve. "Hi (Y/N), what are you doing?" Bucky asked, looking down at you. "Oh sorry," you took your arm off his shoulder, "you know how Clint told Agent Dixon I don't like him? Well now he's making a point of trying to get me to like him." Bucky frowned. "That sucks." You nodded. "Yeah but he doesn't like you, by the way." Bucky just shrugged. "So I figured I would to stand next to you because he doesn't like you and I don't like him."

Steve laughed and Bucky smiled a bit. "So you want me to just stand here?" He asked with a smile. "I mean you can talk or drink, or arm wrestle; I don't know, whatever it is you guys do at parties. But I'm going to hang out so that Dixon doesn't bother me." This time Bucky laughed, which made you smile. Your smile fell when Bucky nodded at something behind Steve. You and Steve looked to see. "I don't think your plan is working." You groaned when you spotted Zack making his way over to you.

"I thought I told you not to go anywhere?" Zack asked, half joking while giving Bucky a nervous glance. "You did, but then I saw these two and decided I'd prefer their company." You shrugged and Zack's smile faltered while Bucky held back a laugh. Zack stayed and continued to bug you, ignoring your attempts to get rid of him. Bucky and Steve didn't feel the need to interfere until they noticed you becoming uncomfortable. "Alright that's enough Dixon." Bucky said and Zack raised an eyebrow at him. "I think (L/N) can speak for herself about whether she wants me to leave."

"God I've been trying!" You sighed and Zack looked surprised. "Well fine. I know when I'm not wanted." He walked away slowly, obviously hoping you'd stop him. "I don't think you know, I've been trying to get rid of you all night." Zack stopped and turned back to you.

"I don't think-" he started, pointing at you but he stopped when he saw the look Bucky was giving him. He turned away and disappeared into the crowd. As soon as he was out of sight you let out a sigh. "I feel bad I tried to make you go on a mission with him." You laughed and shook your head as Steve watched Zack walk off. "I can just steal Bucky as my mission partner."
