Mini a/n: You and Peter are like somewhere in your twenties in this one, I've never done anything like this(for a marvel character, I have for Percy Jackson and Harry Potter characters so you could look at those books if you're in those fandoms) but let me know what you think

When I wake up to your footsteps
As you get up out of bed
They make a song that sounds so simple

Peter loved being with you, it was so amazing to him that you were there with him everyday when he woke up, that he got to see you everyday and spend his time with you, spend his life with you

But it dances in my head
A melody so perfect
That it gets me through the day
And the thought of us forever
Is one that won't ever go away

The thought that he may get to be with you forever was so crazy to him, he never failed to let you know how much he loved you and how happy he was to be with you

All I need to know is
Where to start
Take my hand and show me forever
So never will I ever let you go

He never wanted to let you go and he wanted you to know that, whether it was big or small ways to show you. But you never had a doubt of how much he appreciated you

So let's hold on together
To this paper and this pen
And write down every letter
To every word we've ever said

He would show you how much he cared with presents; he would leave you flowers or take you out for picnics and walks in the park, but your favorite was when he'd leave you letters and notes about your life together

All I need to know is

In several of his letters Peter talked about how much he loved you and how he didn't think his letters could convey the love he had for you and he never knew how to start them, he said you had gotten him through many tough times and he didn't know what he'd do without you; he said he'd also liked to think that he had helped you too

He loved making memories with you, he would take so many pictures of the two of you together, and you loved framing them and hanging them in your house. You both had multiple songs that you considered "your song" and would dance to, or talk about how you'd play them at your wedding

Despite how much he loved you Peter always had doubts; first he was worried you'd break up with him because he was Spiderman but you assured him you wouldn't - so those doubts turned into him worrying a villain would find out who he really was and use you against him

The thought that you could get hurt because of him was unbearable, you constantly tried to reassure him that you'd be careful but it was always in the back of his mind

We wrote our story
And we sang our songs
We hung our pictures on the wall

When he finally broke up with you it tore you both apart, you knew he thought it would be better for you and protect you but that didn't make it any better; you had been with him so long it felt like you forgot who were without him. Peter tried to convince himself that the guilt and pain from breaking up with you wasn't as bad as what it would be like if you gotten hurt because of Spiderman, he wanted to be with you so bad he considered giving up Spiderman on one or two occasions, but you told him not to put your safety above the safety of countless New Yorkers

Now those precious moments
That we carved in stone
Are only memories after all

You still had all the letter, notes, and some of the pictures but it hurt you to see them because they were only memories to you now
